No smoky ring on this brisket
    Roderick J.

Well this was disappointing. The worst BBQ brisket ever . Usually brisket has a nice smoke ring . Not this time , see image of meat. The ribs were just ok , a couple were so chewy we couldn't eat them . The sausage was good. On the bright side the cream corn and fries excellent. Never had this issue before . 972-345-3180

Had the brisket sandwich and beans and potato salad very tasty and easy parking if you drive a big rig. Will be back to Royce city location

    Easy to spot.

Hmmmmmm good! Hubby said some of the best robs he eaten anywhere in the country. Chicken falls off the bone and sliced marbled brisket. Was tender and juicy. Lots of homemade sides and desserts.the pecan was just right not too sweet. Let's talk about the bbq sauce...... perfect not too sweet or tangy. Deserves the 5 stars. Tons of trucker seat here so that tells you something! Get your gas at Buc-cees but eat your bbq here!

Ribs, brisket, Texas toast, spicy beans and cabbage

The staff was friendly, but the meat was not very flavorful. You'll need to soak it in their spicy sauce to get some flavor. The sides were mediocre as well. I'm not sure what was lacking. . . There was a nice Texas presentation of food. The picture with the brisket sandwich was take two for me though. I slathered the meat in spicy sauce and asked for bread that was not toasted to make a sandwich. I went and got the cream corn and French fries since another reviewer recommended those sides. I'm sad to say, I'm still not impressed because the fries were too soggy and the cream corn was a little harder than expected. It could have been an off day, so give them a chance. Other family members have loved the place.

Older location, kind of a truck stop also. Dirt & crushed rock parking lot. and watch the Ditch up front! LOL

Truck parking great food. What more can you ask for there's even a Barbershop walking distance and a Family Dollar.

Chain Texas BBQ, it's gets a "meh". Not bad if you're new to the area. Their sausage is better than the brisket.

In the Greenville tx area on business then heading back to Dallas. Traffic came to a full stop…read more So,I decided to take the next exit and have a BBQ sandwich at Bakers Ribs. They've been around long before the current BBQ craze. I used to eat at their Dallas Location back in the 1990s but, haven't been in 25 years. After fighting major construction congestion and stop and go detours,I finally pulled into the pot holed, gravel parking lot in front of the red 1980ish red metal building that is Bakers Ribs . I was also in search of The Original Fried Pie Company which happened to share space . Entering I found what I expected. Well worn old school roadside Texas BBQ place, just getting by . As with almost everyone else, they've upgraded to a thin screen digital overhead menu. I hate those things because they have no soul...yada,yada,yada I ordered the chopped beef sandwich and waited about five minutes for the few in front of me to gradually get their order filled by the one person, chopping meat, frying fries and filling orders . The vibe is worn out ,we tried western kitch decor in 1980. That's ok but, this is a sad little place that's seen its better day. Regressing slightly. When I first entered a case of various fried pies was the first thing I came to. More on that later . Pouring myself a unsweetened ice tea,I sat down to hopefully enjoy my sandwich. It was better than I expected, and after doctoring it up with onions, jalapeno, pickles and sauce,it passed my test, barely. I wish them well but,I probably won't go back. The owners need to either recomit to increasing the quality of their food and service or? Now to the fried pies. Yumalicious! I bought 6 at $3 75 each. 2 Cherry,2 Apple,2 Peach. I put three in the freezer and left the others out for consumption. Wow. Warmed up under the broiler and served alongside BlueBell Vanilla, niezzzz! Overall my experience was a whiff of the past. That going, going, gone place on the side of the highway that's just good enough to keep you going ,to the next detour.

Amazing brisket. Friendly folks working there. Reasonable prices. Pies look great for later!read more

Here's a polished review based on your Facebook post:…read more Smoak Town BBQ is everything that makes Texas barbecue special. From the moment I arrived, I could tell this place was something different. Even on a 100-degree day, the covered seating area with cooling fans was full of locals who couldn't stop talking about the great barbecue here. Smoak Town isn't just serving incredible food; it's built on family, hard work, faith, and a genuine love for barbecue. One of the highlights of my visit was spending time talking with Rob, the pitmaster's father, and hearing the story of how Cameron turned a passion for backyard barbecue into an award-winning business after success on the competition circuit...and encouragement from dad. The food was outstanding across the board. The brisket was perfectly smoked and so tender it fell apart with a fork. The beer-basted turkey was unbelievably moist, the pork belly burnt ends were meaty and flavorful, and the jalapeño-cheese sausage had just the right amount of kick. The brisket baked beans were some of the best I've had anywhere. What really set Smoak Town apart, though, was the hospitality. After I got home, I received a personalized text thanking me for stopping by and letting me know I was welcome back anytime--as family. That simple gesture perfectly captured what Texas barbecue is all about. If you're looking for authentic Texas barbecue that's served with heart, Smoak Town BBQ absolutely deserves a spot on your must-visit list. Great food, great people, and true Texas hospitality. I'll definitely be back.

I had a chance last October while I was in Rockwall for a wedding to try it, but because the wedding was a top priority (whatever!!!), it didn't happen. Yesterday was my chance. Inside this food park was a vast sea of options, but my eyes were set on the back left where Smoak Town laid. They have a huge tent with plenty of tables to sit at under the shade and the space is wrapped in their wood, giving the joint an oak log fence around the food truck. By the time I got there a little past 1:30, they were out of sausage and mac and cheese. Sad! Other than that, my order was simple: brisket, pork ribs, pork belly burnt ends, and a side of their brew brisket beans. The brisket was a thick slice that was moist and flavorful. I love those chunky slabs of brisket. There is just something about a thicker cut that knocks skinnier cuts out of the park. The pork ribs were juicy and tender. I rarely get pork belly burnt ends over a sausage, but they are always a treat like they were here. Just a little taste of heaven. The beans were savory, hearty, and well seasoned. I was pretty impressed by them as well. The team working was super conversational and friendly. The guy in front of me was having his first taste of Texas barbecue, and they were being super helpful making sure he got a true, flavorful experience. This spot feels hidden but is worth the trip. There were quite a few people hanging around enjoying the excellent barbecue. Worth the pit stop and worth the drive if you live anywhere in the DFW metro. It was simply fate (GET IT???) to try Smoak Town. RIYL: The quieter barbecue spots that pack the same punch

Super friendly welcome from the wait staff and it turned out the owner was working too. Great conversation. Started with the armadillo eggs which are deep fried Jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese and served with ranch. These things are a weakness of mine and I ate the entire order. Next had a two meat platter with brisket and jalapeño cheese sausage. Sides were fried okra and broccoli. They have their fried food game down. Okra was hot and crispy and well seasoned. Delicious. The broccoli tasted like homemade steamed broccoli and was the exact texture I like. My brisket was super tender and tasty and the sausage was satisfying. I used the spicy sauce which gave everything a kick. Finished with the banana pudding with nilla wafers. Stuffed! Delicious meal and so friendly - I'll be back maybe for when they have live music on a weekend.
