Been seeing this business on my Facebook advertisements for a while. What had caught my attention was the interesting drinks, but I ended up not getting them. We had order 4 of the pho combination as well as the garlic truffle fries. For the price, I did wish there was a bit more noodles for the pho. With each bowl, there were some clean and fresh garnishes provided. The portion of the garnish/vegetables was a bit small for the ratio. We ended up asking for more. I still left hungry after eating the fries as well. The soup a little bit on the sweeter side than my liking. The pho was just alright to me. I did enjoy the garlic truffle fries alongside their house green sauce. Workers were super nice and checked up on us often. Though the time I visited, I wasn't sure of the AC was off or broken but we were sweating tons from eating the soup. I am Gen X Vietnamese. I am used to the customer service not being the greatest at most Viet restaurants. That's just the way of my people. But my interaction this morning at Soup Shop was woefully inappropriate. The only thing that saved this experience was the shorter young man at the register who took my order. If you are the owner, the man in the glasses who yelled at me, don't work any shifts anymore, your customer service skills are horrific. I went in to buy my sick family member broth this morning. The young man at the register without the glasses was extremely polite and kind. I got what I needed and sat down to wait for my order. I remembered I forgot to ask him for limes. Me being a clueless customer, I got up and grabbed a sandwich bag from the condiment stand that had a small 8×11 paper on the front of it that says, "Employees Only". Well I was reminded REAL QUICK that it is not for customer self service. The guy in the glasses came up behind me and yelled at me in an extremely condescending manner. I apologized IMMEDIATELY. Said I was sorry. It was so awkward that I even looked at the other employee and shrugged my shoulders. The rude man then came up behind me and said, "See the sign? It says EMPLOYEES ONLY" Wow, absolutely uncalled for the way I was spoken to. What an ass. Yes I see the sign now, and I had apologized to you after you brought it to my attention. You could have used even the slightest of customer service skills and said, "Sorry, this is not for customers, is there something I can get for you?" No, you chose to be a condescending prick and yell at me. I mentioned it to the other worker who profusely apologized for his coworker's rudeness. That guy saved me from creating a scene. He was professional, calm and collected. You rely on customers to keep your business afloat? Correct? Well you just lost one. read more

Service was trash. Took forever for our server to take our order. He was too busy laughing and mocking some customer who ordered over the phone with another worker. A third worker had to finally remind him we still needed to order. After the food came we weren't checked on once or offered refills during our entire meal. I had to yell out and interrupt their conversation with each other just to get some more of my drink. Because that's all they did the entire time we were there. They chit chatted amongst themselves and did the bare minimum of service. After a long day at California High School for a tournament, my kid and I stumbled in. We were welcomed as soon as we opened the door and invited to sit wherever, therefore we chose a booth. The music was on but not so loud and the place was busy but the noise level was quiet. Definitely needed that after the tournament. Our wallet was awesome. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. We ordered the wing appetizer, pho brisket, pho combo, and a cucumber lime drink. Wings were good with the garlic Parmesan sauce (recommended) and so was everything else. The broth is definitely one of the best we have had and the meat/noodle ratio was spot on. This place is a solid 9. I am not giving a full star because the service could be better. We had to wait for a waiter to pass by to put our order in. However, it is nice that they take your order , bring it and leave you alone. Some restaurants have lost this art. I also enjoy how fast you get your food. They really respect the 15 minute and less wait for a customer to get their food. Also a lost art. The flavor is really great of the pho. You would think this place has unauthentic, Americanized version of pho. I thought so too but hey, it's pretty darn good. The broth will blast you through a journey of flavors and prices are comparable to other pho shops. You'll always get greeted by kind and helpful employees the moment you walk through the door. The reason for my rating is that ever since the diet that my girlfriend and I have been on, we had to almost completely stop eating out. However, Soup Shop has a chicken thigh pho that fits our lower calorie intake. We can finally enjoy eating out and having a slightly healthier selection. read more

I have a friend who lives locally and understand there's not a lot of good Asian eateries around the area, particularly pho spots. Soup Shop is good for something quick when you're craving hot soup. I appreciate that they offer options for vegetarians and can accommodate to specific allergy needs. Their broth is decent, though not the best from other pho places I've had. Don't let the 4 star review fool you like it did me! Was very disappointed when my wife came back for a 36 hour overseas flight and had been sick for 4 days requesting to eat soup. This was the closer place I could find near my work. This place is awful. The pho vege broth tastes like they but some powder to water for taste. The fried rice seems to use canned vegetables. Ordered this place for delivery because they're open late (yay) and to our surprise, it was delicious! They really pack their portions and everything arrived super fresh. Their golden baos are pretty on point, flavorful, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. the pho was a surprise as well, it's definitely on the untraditional side, lots of green onions. I do think it's a little heavy on the black pepper and green onions which kinda makes up for the slight lack of flavor in the pho broth. After a long day at work, I was feeling something soupy and warm. Pho is the first thing that came into mind. I choose the combination since it has tendons in it. My goodness the tendons are soft and flavorful, which is not an easy task. Many restaurants I've been does not fully cook the tendon until it has any sort of flavor. Major plus for this place. Large portions just the right amount after my long day. I especially love when they offered to cook the bean sprouts and asked me if i can swap items in my dish. Would totally come back again. My family and I decided to try this spot for a late night dinner. I've read the reviews and thought we'd give it a try after several disappointing spots around our area. We moved from Cerritos a few years ago and haven't found a comparable pho spot that satisfies the craving. It used to be Nguyens's Kitchen, which didn't last very long and Soup Shop replaced them. It's in a plaza of other eateries, immediate parking available but can fill up fast. You can find more parking just a short walk away. As we walked in, we were greeted right away. The layout is spacious and not a traditional pho spot, but more modern. The seating and decor is modern and functional. The menu is simple but good options to choose from. We opted to try the pho rib and combo and my daughter wasn't hungry so she tried the garlic fries and sea salt green tea. Our order arrived shortly and the amount of food was a good size for what it's worth. I thought they forgot our utensils, but the kind server showed me the secret compartment at our table. I loved that concept. My husband loves the ribs, so when the meat fell off the bone he gave me a thumbs up! The broth was noticeably a little sweeter than what we like, but nonetheless it was delicious. My combo pho had a generous amount of meat and the cuts were perfect. My daughter has a great palette so she's particular of flavors especially if it's garlic. She gave it a 4/5 and enjoyed the dipping sauce that came on the side. I think it was a spicy cilantro or maybe wasabi, please correct me if I'm wrong. Last but not least, the sea salt green tea was refreshingly good. I've had some elsewhere that was a little too "flowery" for me. Overall, a great spot for a late night dinner or whenever. They close late, 12am so when everything else is closed this is an option. Now a pho spot, it used to be Nguyen's Kitchen. But the ownership is the same. They redecorated a bit and added more seating inside. Since it's still under the same ownership, the staff seemed like they were the same. It was perfect for the rainy day. We ordered pho, truffle fries and the jasmine milk tea. We were sad about Nguyen's Kitchen closing but when we heard it was the same ownership, and that they just changed the main menu items. We were happy to know that the drinks were the same. The jasmine milk tea is perfectly sweet. I could just go for a jasmine milk tea. I got the pho ribeye. The broth was good. And there was plenty of meat and noodles. Since we got it to go, we had to heat it up a bit. But once we got it to the right temperature, it was delicious. My sister got the pho brisket. WOW! LOVE this new pho joint!!! They used to be Nguyen's kitchen but recently changed concepts to a sit down pho restaurant. I ordered their Jasmine milk tea, fried pork bao, and pho with beef ribs. They are on the slightly pricier end but I think it's worth it. The Jasmine milk tea was so good and perfectly sweet. This will be my go to spot when I'm craving milk tea! I wish they had the option of adding boba to their drinks but no biggie. Fried pork bao was unique and tasty. The meat inside is perfectly seasoned and also has a whole quail egg in it! I liked how the bao was crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside and has a slightly sweet/savory flavor. The pho with beef rib was perfect. Each bowl comes with 2 large beef ribs which was a good portion of meat. It was a little difficult to eat so I asked for a small plate to eat my ribs. The pho broth itself was very rich and flavorful. They def got the flavor right. There was a good portion of noodle and ALOT of onions and shredded green onions so if you don't like onions, definitely let them know ahead of time. So far, the best pho in the city of Whittier! The broth is full of flavor. It does not compare to the other locations in Whittier. A well served portion of meat and noodles is provided. The service by the staff is amazing. Super friendly and attentive staff. Especially Luke, whom was our waiter tonight. Walked in at 8pm and it was still pretty busy, which is obviously because it's so good. Our server was really nice and gave us some recommendations since it was our first time here. The pho was huge, my sister and I shared the rib eye pho. The beef is perfectly cooked and tender and they give you plenty. The broth was perfectly seasoned and not overly salty. A pho shop that makes some of the highest quality beef pho I've had. When I have a bowl of pho, I really focus on the broth. The broth in their beef pho is amazingly flavorful and is so high quality. The meat on their rib bones is also fresh, excellently tender, and pleasantly filled with flavor. Their chicken pho might not be as good as the beef pho, mainly because I feel their chicken meat could be more tender, but the chicken pho broth is still delicious. We decided to stop in for Friday night dinner after receiving a recommendation from Yelp. The spot has ample parking and in a new housing/retail community. We definitely weren't disappointed!! From the moment we walked in we were greeted by a warm and accommodating staff that acknowledged that we would wait for a booth. Once seated our amazing waitress took our drink and appetizer order. She was attentive, friendly, and welcoming understanding it was our first time here. The vibe was bustling even though it was later in the evening and I liked that they were still open. Now for the food, I have to say I'm not a Pho connoisseur but our entree selections were bursting with flavors. Each dish we ordered from the Crunchy Pork Bao, Truffle Fries, and Pho soups were a perfect blend of flavors and textures. This place needs a lot of work in customer service. Came in put my name down and went outside to wait. When I see a couple just walk in and just sit themselves down. cutting in front of my husband and child. When confronting the hostess on 09/26 at 8:30pm she had no justification for it. I know we where cut because we literally the only people waiting for a table. There are three other Pho places with in the same millage. One of the few great restaurants in Whittier! I always get to go and it's convenient. Usually I get the brisket, rib bone, or ox tail. The oxtails not fall off the bone, but it's fun to eat and it's flavorful.
