I love Downtown Decatur even though I don't get over here often. They explained menu options, drinks and even dessert. We started with cocktails, appetizers and finally our entree. We brought birthday cake so didn't order dessert this visit. My Red Sangria was delicious and a generous pour with fresh fruit. I had the soup for a starter and my usual - Pad Thai noodles for my dinner. The experience was very nice however there were some misses - the steamed dumplings were rather dry. Flavors for the curry didn't have a rich coconut flavor. They're dumplings did not feel like steamed dumplings. I was just not impressed. It taste like a different type of form of dumplings.. for me honestly they were just too compact with the meat and not much flavor to it and then with the service kind of made me feel a little uncomfortable that I told him like oh this is what the dumpling supposed to be looking like and they gave me like a stare, and then the lady that checked me out, had a little attitude because I didn't hear her say where the payment goes so I just didn't have a great experience here. Looking for a place in Decatur to dine with friends who were in town for work. I am not familiar with this area of town but I relied on my fellow Yelpers to find this spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is relatively small inside however in was warm and cozy on the Tuesday night in which we dined.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff were polite and very attentive. It really added a pleasant note to the experience. The food was served hot- it was not sitting under a heat lamp. Very good. My only issue is the pad see ew soy sauce is strong and salty. It may not seem that way for you. But I'm sensitive to salt and well it was enough to give me pause. I had a great experience. Probably my favourite Thai in Atlanta so far! Sweet & sour soup is SOOO good. Also have had a few of their curries, the veggies are cut and cooked to a perfect texture and the food comes out hot and quickly. The service has always been on point. Solid Thai option in the Decatur square. The place it decorated cute, is relatively small, and plays great r&b jams on low (at least they were when I went on a Friday night). It would be great for a casual girls night out or lowkey date. I had the drunken noodles with chicken and enjoyed it. Got spice level 2 which says "little to medium" but it felt more like medium. I've never had a bad meal here. When we can't decide what to eat, it always ends up being Siam Thai. We normally split an order of coconut shrimp and steamed dumplings. I always order either pad Thai, pad woon sen, or pad se ew. He always orders the Uncle Bob (lightly battered chicken glazed with savory honey garlic on vegetables. Served with steamed white rice) with every part of the dish separate. It's always delicious and we always end up ordering more dumplings to go. The drinks are also very good. They have a fully stocked bar and do a good pour. The service is great. They really believe in teamwork, and it's obvious that everyone gets along pretty well. The food was decent. I enjoyed the chili ginger sauce but the chicken was way too rough and hard to chew. My partner had fried rice with steak but we're not use to steak looking so lightskinned. For an item with such high reviews, I expected for it to be packed with flavor... it was blan. We added the sauce from my dish to his and it made a huge difference. The customer service was good and it's a cute spot in the downtown Decatur area. I read good things about this spot so I would actually give it another try and order different dishes. We ordered steamed chicken dumplings with a chili sauce. I asked the waiter what he preferred between the Drunken Noodles or Pad See Ew Noodles, he recommended the Drunken Noodles. I was seriously impressed with this place. Especially the basil fried rice with chicken. The portion was HUGE! Definitely enough to share between two people. Red Curry w/ Rice: 8/10 This stuff is so so good. It has the perfect level of spice & flavor without being overwhelming. I enjoy that they separate the rice from the curry instead of putting it together and letting the rice get soggy. After eating this, it immediately makes me want more. I stopped by Siam Thai after traveling across country. For any new Thai restaurant, my litmus test is Green Curry. Based on my dish, I would put this in my top three ranking - reminiscent of the first time I had Green Curry in Kekaha, on the west side of Kauai. Right after leaving the fitness center, I walked around the Decatur Square and lo and behold, I stumbled across Siam Thai Restaurant. The prices were affordable, the food looked delicious, and the reviews were decent, so I walked in and dined solo. The restaurant was clean, and I absolutely loved the minimalist interior decor. Staff was great, too! I was immediately seated when I walked in, and my order - Basil Fried Rice with Chicken - was delivered in less than 20 minutes. I kid you not, this was by far one of the best Basil Fried Rice entrees I've had in Atlanta! It was so rich in flavor and for $14, the entree was huge. I plan to dine here again. read more

Wow, wow, and wow again! So glad that my friend and I stumbled upon Siam Thai after the two restaurants we were going to check out closed at 8pm. The staff welcomed us in immediately and made us feel at home. We chatted a little bit before deciding on our meals. I got the Earth, Wind, and Fire with medium heat after the waiter told me that this was one of their most popular dishes. I see why it is! There are chunks of veggies, chicken, and meat in a delicious light brown sauce. The veggies included bell peppers, green beans, bamboo shoots, and corn. Everything was so good and fresh; and it came out very quickly despite the restaurant being busy. We were checked on a couple of times and they kept our waters full. Also, we were able to hang our a few minutes after they closed, which was nice as I was catching up with a friend I hadn't seen in 7 years. We had some basil spring rolls, which were good, although I wish there was more tofu in them--they're pretty petite. I had a green curry and my dinner buddy had a pad thai.
