What a gem in the heart of Downtown Decatur or the Square! This was the place my girlfriend chose to celebrate her birthday with close friends. I love Downtown Decatur even though I don't get over here often. The ambiance was charming with hints of Thailand throughout and tables to seat maybe 50-60 people. As usual, there's traffic for to-go orders but most were coming in to dine in for a while. Our group was a party of 7 and the service was delightful. They explained menu options, drinks and even dessert. We started with cocktails, appetizers and finally our entree. We brought birthday cake so didn't order dessert this visit. My Red Sangria was delicious and a generous pour with fresh fruit. I had the soup for a starter and my usual - Pad Thai noodles for my dinner. The experience was very nice however there were some misses - the steamed dumplings were rather dry. Flavors for the curry didn't have a rich coconut flavor. The breezeway from the door (just a curtain) created a chill in the room but it wasn't too bad. Parking: There's limited street parking and the lots are rather pricey. Looking for a place in Decatur to dine with friends who were in town for work. I am not familiar with this area of town but I relied on my fellow Yelpers to find this spot. It is relatively small inside however in was warm and cozy on the Tuesday night in which we dined. The staff were polite and very attentive. It really added a pleasant note to the experience. The food was served hot- it was not sitting under a heat lamp. Very good. My soup - tom Kha was delicious- and my entree- pad me moa- was a 10 entry on my list of dishes I have eaten at a Thai spot in my life. We had a very enjoyable meal! Downtown Decatur - such a quaint area away from Atlanta to meetup with friends. Siam, is located in the courtyard area. It's a small restaurant but great use of space. I suggest using Marta or Rideshare. If your free maybe do drive there is paid parking everywhere. Do not park illegally. I sat at the bar and struggled between the pad see ew and drunken noodle. Deciding factor was the drunken noodle didn't have enough vegetables. My only issue is the pad see ew soy sauce is strong and salty. It may not seem that way for you. They're dumplings did not feel like steamed dumplings. I was just not impressed. It taste like a different type of form of dumplings.. for me honestly they were just too compact with the meat and not much flavor to it and then with the service kind of made me feel a little uncomfortable that I told him like oh this is what the dumpling supposed to be looking like and they gave me like a stare, and then the lady that checked me out, had a little attitude because I didn't hear her say where the payment goes so I just didn't have a great experience here. Probably my favourite Thai in Atlanta so far! Sweet & sour soup is SOOO good. Also have had a few of their curries, the veggies are cut and cooked to a perfect texture and the food comes out hot and quickly. The service has always been on point. They take my lover's allergy seriously. I love to sit outside here, it's so nice on a temperate day. I believe the prices are good. Bathrooms are accessible and clean but you do have to scooch around the indoor tables which are a bit tight to get to them lol. Solid Thai option in the Decatur square. The place it decorated cute, is relatively small, and plays great r&b jams on low (at least they were when I went on a Friday night). It would be great for a casual girls night out or lowkey date. I had the drunken noodles with chicken and enjoyed it. Got spice level 2 which says "little to medium" but it felt more like medium. The food was decent. I enjoyed the chili ginger sauce but the chicken was way too rough and hard to chew. My partner had fried rice with steak but we're not use to steak looking so lightskinned. For an item with such high reviews, I expected for it to be packed with flavor... it was blan. We added the sauce from my dish to his and it made a huge difference. I've never had a bad meal here. When we can't decide what to eat, it always ends up being Siam Thai. We normally split an order of coconut shrimp and steamed dumplings. I always order either pad Thai, pad woon sen, or pad se ew. He always orders the Uncle Bob (lightly battered chicken glazed with savory honey garlic on vegetables. Served with steamed white rice) with every part of the dish separate. It's always delicious and we always end up ordering more dumplings to go. The drinks are also very good. They have a fully stocked bar and do a good pour. The service is great. They really believe in teamwork, and it's obvious that everyone gets along pretty well. Y'all, I was craving Thai food after working out (is that weird?!). Right after leaving the fitness center, I walked around the Decatur Square and lo and behold, I stumbled across Siam Thai Restaurant. The prices were affordable, the food looked delicious, and the reviews were decent, so I walked in and dined solo. The restaurant was clean, and I absolutely loved the minimalist interior decor. Staff was great, too! I was immediately seated when I walked in, and my order - Basil Fried Rice with Chicken - was delivered in less than 20 minutes. Wow, wow, and wow again! So glad that my friend and I stumbled upon Siam Thai after the two restaurants we were going to check out closed at 8pm. The staff welcomed us in immediately and made us feel at home. We chatted a little bit before deciding on our meals. I got the Earth, Wind, and Fire with medium heat after the waiter told me that this was one of their most popular dishes. I see why it is! There are chunks of veggies, chicken, and meat in a delicious light brown sauce. The veggies included bell peppers, green beans, bamboo shoots, and corn. Everything was so good and fresh; and it came out very quickly despite the restaurant being busy. We were checked on a couple of times and they kept our waters full. Also, we were able to hang our a few minutes after they closed, which was nice as I was catching up with a friend I hadn't seen in 7 years. We had some basil spring rolls, which were good, although I wish there was more tofu in them--they're pretty petite. I had a green curry and my dinner buddy had a pad thai. Portions are generous, and I was pretty stuffed after finishing mine. The green curry is delicious and just the right amount of spice.
