If you're a soup lover- this is your spot. It's a small soup chain local to Atlanta with a daily rotating menu. This is one of the five locations, and everyday their menu changes slightly so make sure to check that something you like is being served that day. I typically get the Chicken Noodle Soup (my favorite!) but since it wasn't on the menu today I went with the Tomato Basil. This was very good, but nowhere near as satisfying as the chicken noodle. Personally I like my tomato soups extra thick and creamy, which isn't how I would describe this one. However if that's not your style, this may be for you. I got it with a multi grain roll and chocolate chip cookie and when the roll was dipped in the soup, it was exceptional. And the cookie tasted nice and fresh. There's a free, private lot for parking, and lots of seating indoors and outdoors. The interior is adorable, drenched in yellows and reds, and the staff is very friendly and happy to give a recommendation. A great lunch option if you're over by Blandtown. read more

I love Souper Jenny, and this location is so cute! I really appreciate the availability of parking here. The food is really good and nourishing. I usually get a combo, which is $20 but usually feeds me for more than one meal when I take it to go. Because it's counter-service the food comes out quick, and the servers are always really friendly. A friend recommended this place for lunch and what a recommendation. Souper Jenny really surprised me! A little out of the way but has free parking and good food. I always look forward to going for their soups, salads, AND sandwiches! They change their menu daily, which they update online based on location every day. It's always fun for me to see what's new for that day, though it can be difficult due to indecisiveness. Some items are mainstays (like the chili), but everything has been good so far. The soups are always nice and hot, yummy, and so fitting for the cold weather. I haven't had a bad sandwich from here, though I def preferred some over others I've tried. The salads... super fresh! I have never been more excited for salad?? My friend said they had a garden, and it's clear in how fresh all their ingredients are. They sell produce at the entrance as well as some take home premade dinners. The atmosphere is warm and friendly (everyone there is literally so nice!), and they have indoor and outdoor seating. For lunch, it's on the pricier side with the lunch combo being ~$20 after tax and tip, but it's absolutely worth it. Can't believe how long it took me to try this place!! I finally stopped by Jenny's on a rainy weekday when I didn't feel like making lunch and it definitely hit the spot. The Westside location has plenty of parking. Although I didn't get it this visit, the lunch deal definitely seems great value and quantity. I ended up just getting a cup of a lentil soup and a cheesesteak sandwich. The soup was warm and hearty and I love that the menu rotates daily! The cheesesteak wasn't on a true hoagie roll but it was delicious nonetheless! Super cheesy, melty deliciousness and the meat was cooked really well. I recently discovered this cafe on Yelp. I have been twice. I love the atmosphere. It's a chill place to sit and enjoy lunch. The staff is great. They are friendly with happy faces. I had a soup combo meal with two to go orders of BOGO soup pints. The food was really good and fresh. You know they make it from scratch because you can see the kitchen. It's tucked away in a corner with plenty of parking and not a lot of traffic. I went for a late lunch because I was craving some soup due to the weather. I ordered literally the last bowl of turkey chili and a bowl of cheesy tomato basil soup to go. I had the turkey chili first and upon first bite, it was so good that I immediately ate the ass without even sitting down. 10 out of 10 would recommend, I'm so glad I got the last one and I definitely would order that again. The cheesy tomato basil soup was good too, but the turkey chili just had an extra layer of flavor that was hard to top. I got two soups, two bread rolls, two cookies, and a drink with the combo for 19 bucks so not bad but it is a little pricey for soup I guess. It was so good I didn't even get a chance to take a picture but I definitely will be back!! read more

I love Souper Jenny! I had only been to the Buckhead and Brookhaven locations, and realized that there was one in West Midtown. A friend and I were trying to eat at Upbeet on a late Saturday afternoon but why the line was LITERALLY out the door, I have no idea. We decided to give Souper Jenny a try and I'm glad we did, because our food was just as tasty and cheaper than Upbeet. Souper Jenny has plenty of parking in its private lot. It's getting harder and harder to find restaurants in midtown with easy parking so this was a welcome surprise. I can never remember exactly what I order - but it's ok, because their menu changes daily. I ordered my usual at all the other locations - My Dad's Turkey Chili. You can't go wrong - it's super chunky and hearty, and not super watery. Exactly how I like it! I decided to get it with a side of the root vegetable medley. It had sweet potato, some sort of squash that tasted just like butternut... and other colorful additions that were delicious. I'm not vegetarian by any means and found this to be on point! After paying, I noticed the $1 cookies on a platter and regretted not getting one. So, because #noregrets, I went ahead and got a chocolate chip cookie. I didn't realize how fresh they were until I broke bread and found the cookie to still be SLIGHTLY warm and oozing chocolate still. Yum! I unfortunately left my Souper Jenny punch card at home (do they even accept it anymore??) but from the sounds of my review... I'm going to have to visit the Buckhead and Brookhaven locations a little more in the future. I often run by this restaurant, and decided to check them out for lunch today! Thought the food was really excellent, and also liked what they do for the community. They have a nonprofit called the Zadie project that donates meals whenever you purchase a bowl of My Dad's Turkey Chili. The money goes towards feeding the community and also teaching classes on how to grow and cook your own sustainable foods. I got the turkey cheddar sandwich, and the turkey chili in a lunch combo, which includes a drink, cookie, and fresh fruit. I thought the food tasted very fresh and made with love! The sandwich was generous with the meat, and it came with a jam that made it more unique and helped balance out the saltiness of the meat. The turkey chili was flavorful and had a good mix of beans and turkey. It stayed warm even though I took the food to-go. They had a coconut pecan cookie today and it was amazing! The portions were pretty generous. I will say, I do think the price may be a bit high for a soup and a sandwich, but I really appreciate that they do a lot for the community and that their food is fresh, so I'm willing to pay for that. The employees there are also really nice and chill, which made for a good environment. Currently you can't eat inside, but they have a whole covered patio area open out back. There's a ton of parking. Workers are all wearing masks and all the customers followed protocol and spaced themselves out in the line. There wasn't too bad of a wait, maybe like 5 minutes. Souper Jenny opened a Westside (West Midtown) location January 2015 in the old Urban Pl8 space. The cafe/restaurant originated in Buckhead where it's been very popular, often with lines out the door, serving soups, salads, and sandwiches. At the time of writing this review, there are four locations: Brookhaven, Buckhead, Decatur, and Westside. Fortunately, this Westside outpost is nowhere near as busy as the Buckhead original. You can get your food fast with little to no waiting. The restaurant has an industrial/warehouse aesthetic with a cozy, parking-lot-view patio. The high ceiling interior has an open setup where the dining room, kitchen, and ordering line share a single congruous space. The dining room features a mish-mash of homey wooden tables and chairs beneath a tall cartoon mural of Jenny with fruits and vegetables beneath her feet and a recognizable Atlanta skyline behind her. Soups, salads, and sandwiches are prepared fresh daily and placed on the ordering line, available for immediate consumption. There's a freezer just inside the entrance ("The Official Souper Jenny Freezer of Yumminess") which contains frozen take-home quarts of Jenny's soups. Frozen quarts are normally $12 each, but there are periodically sales when you can get them for $9 each or as low as $5 each. There's a $14 lunch special that includes any two $7 items plus bread, a piece of fruit, a cookie, and a fountain drink or tea. A special brunch menu is served every Sunday from 9am-3pm. This place is not open for dinner. What I like most about Souper Jenny is the food is both healthy and tasty. A good example is the "Green Goddess" sandwich which comes with cucumber, mozzarella, avocado, sprouts, tomato, arugula, and a housemade dressing. For a sandwich with no meat, it's actually pretty delicious thanks mostly to the soft, creamy, and mouthwatering mozzarella. The veggies are crisp and fresh and the sandwich is served on a not-too-salty pretzel bun. The Grilled Chicken & Ham sandwich is packed with plenty of lean meat. It comes with pineapple salsa, pepper jack cheese, and greens inside a pita pocket. I believe only chicken breast is used in this sandwich. There's so much meat and not enough salsa that this sandwich ends up feeling a bit "dry" to me. As far as filling you up for lunch, this sandwich serves its purpose. "My Dad's Turkey Chili" is one of Jenny's signature "soups" along with the Chicken Tortilla soup. The chili is quite good, containing whole beans and hearty, flavorful turkey meatball chunks. It reheats in the microwave well and is pretty warming and comforting. If you like chili, I definitely recommend it. If you don't mind your pee smelling, try the Grilled Asparagus salad. I love asparagus and this salad is A-OK. It comes with sliced red and yellow bell peppers, mozzarella, basil, and lemon vinaigrette. Like the Green Goddess sandwich, the delectable morsels of mozzarella steal the show. The salad is tossed with just the right amount of dressing. Cookies are available and self-serve out of a cookie jar next to the register. I've tried both the chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies and they are yummy. I prefer the peanut butter over the chocolate chip, but both are good. Fresh fruit is available in box(es) next to the entrance. There's also a King of Pops freezer in the back corner next to the water dispenser. Jenny's is an excellent to-go option since the service is quick and the food packs and travels nicely. Eating utensils, containers, and bags are all relatively sturdy and high quality. If dining in, there's a bus tub in front of the fountain drink machine where you can put your used bowls and dishes when you're finished. The servers are cool, there's plenty of parking, and the patio is dog-friendly. read more

It's as good as everyone says. I came in with my Scoutmob for the pints of soup to go. We were confused if not overwhelmed bu the choices at first. We asked for help and one of the ladies kindly explained what was inside each pint. We settled on the Sweet Potato Coconut Corn and the Lamb Moussaka ( boy was this one hardy). Sweet Potato Coconut corn is very light, sweet and full of corn and chunky sweet potato bites. Lamb Moussaka contained egg noodles, lamb meat and cooked in a red stew. I would not say one was better than the other since they were so different. I would come back and get either again for sure. Also got a sandwich with apples, jam, brie, arugula and spinach on a fluffy white bread. It was amazing. They had a smoked Gouda and pimento spread ($8) in the fridge that was delicious! The pints of soup are $12 ($9 on Sat or Sun), $7 for a bowl and they do offer a cup. Sandwiches are $7 and Salads are around the same. If you get a soup and a sandwich you're already at $15 here. It's not cheap but when you use fresh ingredients the flavor is unbeatable and worth every penny. They do offer Sunday brunch from 9am-3pm with BYO liquor for the orange juice provided! I have been going to this place for about a year and really like some of their flavors and what they are trying to do. It was really good the first three months I was going about once a week. Working close by. Awesome, fresh, always friendly and helpful. Always a few dollars more but better food. Lately. It's just a few dollars more. The soup use to be full of the ingredients, now you get a cup/bowl of broth and hope for some ingredients. Sandwiches are usually pretty good. Only can usually eat half of it because the bottom half is soggy from sitting. Had a lady ring me up few days back that was just rude and the food had finally hit the bottom. Cute spot in the west side for soup and salad. I'm told that rhe soups change daily. The curry soup that I chose has a little heat but not too much. Very tasty. They also have meat options. I really like that they indicate which soups are gluten free, dairy free, etc. You can really taste the freshness of the wholesome ingredients. You can get a half sandwich with it or salad. I opted for the kale salad which is fresh. It has a little bit of avocado pieces and tomatoes. Tasty salad. You also can get a piece of bread and I chose the pretzel roll. The roll is awesome; just enough salt and really fresh. I wish I asked for two pieces. :) The restaurant is a no frills, eclectic spot with plenty of tables including some shared tables. It has a homely, farm house feel with the wood tables, open kitchen and bright colors. There's a small garden by the restaurant which is probably where the ingredients come from as it's super fresh. SJ has seemingly went down hill the past few years, while prices increased. Used to love to eat here mutliple times each week! The last few times I tried to order a grilled cheese, their machine was broken. Today, I go in and try to get one and in told they're out and "usually run out of them by 1pm on Saturday". Well, if that's a common occurance to run out of something three hours before you close (not even half way into your day), how about you order more of the ~3 simple ingredients to make them? I've always seen a few Souper Jenny's around town and for some reason I never thought to stop by, but I was able to finally check out this location with my co workers and I am quite happy that I did. This particular location is quite charming, you can see their garden right when you're walking up to the door and it's reassuring to know that you're about to have the freshest ingredients :) The menu does change daily I believe but there are a few items that don't. I opted for the lunch special and went with the ravioli soup (OMG YUM) and a salad (I forgot which one but it was really simple). My meal also came with a cookie and a drink which was such a treat. At all their locations as well, they have notebooks on all their tables for people to write comments, draw out loud or add whatever is on their mind. The quality and flavor of the soup and sandwich I had was top notch. Super flavorful, REAL food. The curried chickpea and veggie soup is probably the best soup I've ever eaten! Also, the portions are generous enough where I have leftovers for another meal. The Atmosphere: There's a parking lot just outside the restaurant, with ample parking. The restaurant feels homey and casual - you order at the counter, set yourself, and clean up after yourself. "You know the best decision I ever made was stepping into the store and buying that first sandwich." -- Furious Seven (2015) I'm a Souper Jenny fan and have been for YEARS! So the fact that I can now avoid the crazy lines in Buckhead make me so very happy. I mean, look, I get it. Everyone is dying for a healthy lunch and SJ does an amazing job, but that line and the smallish place in Buckhead gave me fits - so I got to the point where I would dread going on a busy workday. But now, there are more locations and Westside is now my favorite!! I won't lie, Urban Pl8 was a favorite of mine, so I was sad when it shuttered. However, to have SJ take its place certainly softens the blow. I came with Tanya C. for lunch on a Friday and it was not too busy when we got there. We walked in and were immediately helped and the menu options were plentiful. I always have a hard time deciding. I knew I wanted soup - and they had so many options that looked enticing. But I opted for the Greek Spinach and Orzo. It was packed with mushrooms, spinach and orzo and had a nice kick to it that was just under the surface, so not too over powering. I also selected the Strawberries and brie sandwich - a new favorite for sure! On a ciabatta roll, a thin layer of strawberry preserves, a huge handful of fresh arugula, giant slices of brie and tons of fresh strawberry slices. I mean WOW. Sweet, salty from the cheese, peppery from the arugula - the perfect combo. I was quite sad when I took my last bite. It also came with a wheat roll, drink and cookie - a great combo deal! Plenty of seating both inside and out and it was not too loud, so we could have our conversation without having to yell at one another. We enjoyed our lunch, a nice young woman came and cleared our plates when we were finished and free drink refills - the perfect lunch. The biggest issue is Huff Road - A) it is in desperate need of repaving and B) the traffic is always backed up on this street - no matter the time of day. I've had their chicken and corn soup, Turkey chili and pineapple gazpacho Their stores are great! $13 for a quart to take home and occasionally when there's a surplus, they'll have two for one quarts. The chicken soups are meaty, not skimpy at all! The Turkey Chili is thick, delicious and healthier than beef chili. The gazpacho is more filling than it looks, I got a bowl and couldn't finish.
