Wonderful spot for delicious food at a great value. I had a fresh salad and the classic Maryland soup, and my son enjoyed a flavorful sandwich. Everything tasted great. The atmosphere is casual, friendly, and welcoming. Definitely worth a stop if you want a genuine Baltimore experience.

Holy moley! So I've heard a lot about Soup's On and in the back of my head I kinda thought, "what's so special about soup?". Recently I came down with a chest cold (not Covid, phew) and really needed some comfort food. I called Soup's On and ordered a sandwich and soup for pick up. It was ready in 15 minutes and cost about $12. I got the oven roasted turkey sandwich and the spinach feta soup. Oh, man. It was exactly what the doctor ordered. This turkey sandwich was huge! Topped with perfectly melted cheese and delicious slices of turkey. The spinach and feta soup was not what I expected but it was still amazing. It was mostly just a broth and didn't actually contain chunks of spinach like I assumed. Was it still flavorful and delish? You bet your bottom. You can also bet that I dipped my enormous turkey sub into that soup and almost died and went to heaven. One thing I love about this place is that it kinda reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where the business owner is really strict about how people order his soup - you know which one I'm talking about. You can tell the business owner takes no BS but is probably a softy deep down. If he's not from NYC, he gives me NYC vibes. Definitely call ahead, know what you want, and don't expect a lot of frills. What Soup's On lacks in frills though, it makes up for in price, quality, and flavor. I will be returning!

Walking through Baltimore on a way to a show at the Lyriq and we stumble upon Soups On. First impression isn't much as it's a tiny restaurant tucked into a old Baltimore row home. Probably couldn't fit more then 20 people comfortably inside at one time, but all that is a front for some of the most delicious soup and sandwiches you can get. A small team of artisans are in the back using some sort of special magic to create some very thoughtful and delicious food. I must must must mention the French onion soup. I don't even like French onion soup but after trying my wife's I was absolutely blown away. We ended up doing the combo so soup and a sandwich and the grilled chicken sandwich was delicious. This restaurant is highly recommended, a must go to if your in the neighborhood

I had the pleasure of speaking to Tony who not only checked himself but spoke with the chef to confirm the menu was peanut free. * Note there are peanuts used in the cocktails * it was a true pleasure to have an allergy taken seriously and made us more confident to take our daughter there. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very personal and quaint, there was a high chair available for our daughter to use. All the servers were incredibly friendly and helpful. For the food we tried the stuffed dates, miso mushroom bucatini and the toum raider pizza. The stuffed dates were recommended by our waitress and they were delicious. They were both sweet, savory and a little spicy. The walnuts that topped it were a nice touch to add texture to the already soft dates, I enjoyed it a lot. The miso mushroom bucatini was also a favorite of ours as it didn't taste vegan at all to us. It was creamy and the pasta was cooked well. My daughter enjoyed this a lot. The pizza wasn't my favorite but I'm also not a huge fan of vegan cheese so that is my fault but the miso mushroom bucatini was truly so delicious. Overall I really enjoyed the experience, the service was impeccable and I would definitely visit here again!

Non-vegan here! I feel like my expectations for the food were set by only vegans, which gave me a…read moreskewed perspective going in, so to my non-vegans out there, here's how I'd approach Oleum: It's incredibly impressive what they come up with in terms of recreating non-vegan dishes using plant-based-only ingredients. Creative, complex, and unexpected--and incredibly thoughtful. I definitely see why this is considered vegan fine dining: I'd think you'd have to be nothing short of a master chef to craft some of these dishes using only plant-based ingredients. It was fun to try a few of their 'how on earth did they make this vegan' menu items, but I also wish we'd ordered some dishes that are naturally closer to vegan, as I think that's where I'd be really blown away (beyond the novelty value, as a non-vegan diner). Highly recommend ordering a bunch of dishes and sharing them across the table so you get to sample lots of different foods and preparations. We ordered: SMALL PLATES Ravioli bravas Maryland style crab cakes Shrimp scampi ENTREES Blackened alfredo Mushroom miso bucatini Meat lovers pizza I went in with unrealistic expectations because I'd been told 'it tastes just as good as the non-vegan version--SERIOUSLY!' and because of the caliber of the restaurant, I didn't think to manage those expectations. So I hit a bit of an uncanny valley with pretty much all of the dishes: it tastes a lot LIKE a crab cake, but something's off about it...this is the FLAVOR profile of shrimp scampi, but the texture isn't right...etc. (except for the pastas, which I'll say none of us were very impressed by). I think that's a lot of their branding, though, because even their menu design is setting you up with that (wrong, imo) expectation: I actually had to confirm with the bartender that this was a vegan restaurant, because they list bacon, sausage, parmesan, provolone, and beef in their dishes! It's very confusing, haha. I think if I didn't have those expectations going in, and went in more with the curiosity of 'wow, how do they make a mushroom-based crab cake? or tofu that tastes like shrimp?!' that would have been a much better dining experience for me. After coming to the above realizations, I'm looking forward to returning and trying the dishes with a different lens. And I want to order some that are naturally plant-based, as I imagine those are really going to shine--no uncanny valley to be seen!

Not only did I get a meal, I received new dishes to add to my house:) Lastly, I ordered the Larb. I requested no onions or scallion. It was very flavorful with basil and crunchy lettuce included. It was an unexpected protein full meal. I thought the serving was plentiful and could not finish the Larb. I would recommend trying if you're on the fence. If this experience was this yummy delivered, I'm sure the in house service is even better. Good luck scoring the ceramic dishes with your takeout/delivery service.

I got the Tofu Brah bun and my mom got the chili noodles with pork and a side of rice and beans. All of the food was so flavorful and the portions were generous. The bun itself was so light and fluffy, and the tofu was crispy. They didn't skimp on the pork in the chili noodles - about half the dish was really tender pork. Unfortunately, I don't think that this was a great showcase of the restaurants abilities. For food, I had the Caesar salad to start, which I can honestly say was a decent caesar, nothing to write home about, but no complaints either - think your basic Caesar. For my main I had the crabcake entrée and to be honest it was just not good. The crabcake was beyond dry and the coleslaw and fries were fine but that that's not what I came for. I do have to say that dessert was great, the carrot cake was without any complaints. The only other thing that I had was the seasonal martini on the drink menu and it was so bad that I couldn't take more than one sip. Other people did like their food, but we all left saying that it was not a great meal. In discussing service, the service itself was good. Our waitress was attentive, but kept jumping into our conversation and wasn't dressed totally appropriately for wait staff in my opinion, she was very attentive though. Ambience is interesting here - it feels as though it has no ambience almost. It's just like a bunch of tables in an outdated restaurant with minimal decor. Overall, I will probably not be coming back to Sobo and can't say that I would recommend others do so.
