Food is okay. Nothing more or less than other sourdough and co. They do frequently forget ingredients or key factors in orders like toasting a sandwich. Restrooms are dirty, lobby is okay, kitchen could be way cleaner. The new owners do not manage as well as the previous did and that is a certain, quality and experience has definitely changed. I have also noticed there is a lot of false reviews for this location (photos of food taken behind the counter) and very obviously ai generated paragraphs. Please do better, you wouldn't have to execute fake positive reviews if you just managed your restaurant better! And nonetheless, if you don't have a good relationship with the community, you will fail. read more

Big disappointment yesterday. Walked in for a latte and a regular brewed coffee. Both were priced at $4.50 each. Thinking that's a little steep for a cup of regular coffee, I placed the order anyway. The brewed coffee didn't have any cream in it and I asked for cream. I was directed to a table with canisters of Coffee Mate, no half & half. I then noticed there was no sugar on the table and asked for sugar. I was advised they only had phony sugar packets and brown sugar. No white granulated sugar. The latte was unremarkable. Ive been here a few times and the food was always overpriced while just mediocre. They skimp on proteins but go heavy on the sauces and oil. They've been listed on too good to go for over 2 months. They take your money and when you show up, they tell you "they didn't sign up for it" and tell you you're out of luck and have to contact the app for a refund. Various sourdough co locations have been listed in the app and they participate, but management here doesn't want to follow what the company put in place. They're perfectly okay with humiliating you as you try to come in and pick up your order off the app.. while the location is dirty and empty.. and the manager is loudly talking on FaceTime in the lobby avoiding you. read more

Wow what an experience! Best sourdough sandwiches I've had. The Owner mentioned this sourdough imports from San Francisco so you know you're getting the real deal. Soft bread packed with delicious flavor. We went with the French Dip & it was incredible. Soft marinated beef with delicious Au Jus for dipping. Yum!!! 2nd sandwich we ordered wasn't on the menu but the owner was happy to make a substitution! Pesto Chicken w/ Dijon mustard and all the veggie fixings. So good. We got one of their in house baked chocolate chip cookies... and wow... treat yourself. Also there are GLUTEN FREE WRAPS available for those with allergies or preferences. A little something for everyone. The staff were SO welcoming and friendly. Particularly the new owner Nav & manager Tyler. Atmosphere in the restaurant was clean & perfect setting for historic Placerville. They have a TV in there as well for any game days you're looking to watch with friends. 9/30/2022: The smokey brisket was too dry, i.e., lacked flavor, presentation was utterly unappealing, and looking directly at the sandwich~it just had four strips appearing like hard beef jerky which was egregiously disappointing verses the pastrami sandwich I ordered at the Missouri Flat Sourdough location. In addition, I initially requested ordering clam chowder; however, the location ran out of the soup. Aside . . . Tables were shoved into the left side of the store via the front door entrance; the store appeared depressing and not clean. Meh~I won't eat here. read more

Found this place on a whim after Apple Hill and this place is delicious! Parking is a bit difficult since it's in a busy part of Placerville. There is a variety of choices to satisfy any craving! You can choose your sub size, 4, 6 or 8 inches and each sandwich is split in half. The sandwiches are absolutely stuffed with meats and cheeses! Definitely worth the money! We ordered the smoked brisket, which I highly recommend, and the French dip which is just as tasty! I need to find a place closer now because the smoked brisket was amazing. read more

Gwyn, Isak, and Mason were behind the counter when my 96-year-old mother-in-law, my wife and I visited this store on Sunday, September 15th. All three youngsters were attentive, respectful, friendly, and professional in their interactions with all the guests. They prepared our vegetable flatbread and chicken flatbread with enthusiasm and alacrity. Their positive, joyful demeanor created a pleasant environment in the store. We enjoyed the flatbreads and had an overall pleasant experience. Furthermore, the store and the restroom were well maintained. read more

I reached out to Sourdough & Co via Facebook messenger and received a responds promptly and the next day I even received a personal call from the manager apologizing about the confusion and going above and beyond to make the situation right. I came in to order sandwiches and while they were preparing my sandwich, they were making it right next to a dirty rag with food and stains on it so I kindly asked the employee to move it away. She told me no and tried to justify her actions by saying that the sandwich wasn't touching the rag, even though it was less than half an inch away from it. She never moved it, and when we went to leave after paying, she looked at me and said "what's wrong" and I said "that's gross. You're preparing food next to a dirty rag" and she said "no it's fine. It has sanitizer on it" so now I'm eating chemicals? Super gross i just walked out. Poor customer service and were they trained on how to properly keep food spaces clean? read more

I did a online order waited about 20 minutes I went over to the store and the sandwich still wasn't done and they haven't even started it when I went inside they weren't busy. Priorities. It seems like customers are an inconvenience to the place. I can't tell you how many times I've been in and was told, "Someone will be with you in a few minutes." Then, the person goes on with whatever food prep task they were given. Today, I was the only person in there and it happened. Instead of taking my order and my money, I got to stand there and wait while food was covered and placed in the refrigerator, and then the person went in the back to slice meat. When my order was taken, the person taking it couldn't have cared less, as is evidenced by my order being completely phucked up. I asked for the house sandwich sauce and dijon mustard on the sandwich. Neither made it. Instead, I got a little splash of oil and vinegar. The person taking my order didn't even wait for me to sign the receipt, but walked off to attend to other things. While planning a visit to Placerville to see family, I had notice Sourdough & Co. listed on my iPhone's map. I'm a SoCal native and was unfmailiar with the chain. After a little research, I was intrigued and really wanted to try this place. Ultimately, I ended up at this location on a drizzly Sunday afternoon. I was hoping they had chili cause that sounded awesome from other other reviews, but found out I was a day a late. I ordered the smoked brisket instead. Wow! So wonderful! My family and I ate inside and enjoyed the ambiance of downtown Placerville. Other items ordered were Mac and cheese, pastrami sandwich, clam chowder in a bread bowl, and a custom turkey sandwich. We all loved what we picked. We ended up arriving right around lunch time and the place was pretty busy. The staff consisted of only two team members who did a great job of getting everyone's orders served. I will probably be back in the area in March and look forward to sampling more of what Sourdough & Co. has to offer. read more

Went in here last night to get sandwiches for dinner. WORST Sourdough & Co EVER!! Service was extremely slow, kids behind the counter thought it was cool to play and giggle instead of working. Girl that made one of our sandwiches dropped the half with cheese on it (hot pasteami), didn't think I was paying attention and tried to put it back together and give it to me. I said umm no! Owner was there washing the same spot on the window the entire time I was there. We waited over 20 minutes for 3 sandwiches. 3 kids working and one order ahead of us. The girl working the register asked a hundred questions and after we would answer and get to the next question she asked she would say what was your response to the last question? As if she either wasn't paying attention or wasn't trained properly. Horrible horrible place! I won't be back and I'll make sure everybody I know doesn't go there. read more

I have been to the new sourdough Sandwich Company by Safeway, in Placerville California many times. Excellent food and excellent service. I was by downtown today and stopped in the one on Main Street. You know these sandwiches are not cheap. But I ordered a vegetarian sandwich and a small tomato soup. The soup was awesome. And the sandwich was beautiful and really good except it just didn't have any zing. I had paid almost $17 for the soup and 6 inch sandwich plus I gave the boy they took my order a $3 tip that would be split with all of the workers there, all kids. After I started eating I asked the manager who was the kid I ordered from, if you had any kind of spicy sauce or anything like that. He said no. I asked him if he had any kind of hot peppers or anything like that and he said yes. I ask if I could have just a couple of jalapenos. He said no I'd have to buy a whole order. I said well can I just have one? One little jalapeno slice? He said no I'd have to buy a whole order which is like a big handful. I told him I just wanted a little bit of personality but I don't want a handful of jalapenos. And I didn't think it was too much to ask for a $20 sandwich and small soup for one single jalapeno slice. He said absolutely not. His name is Brian. Absolutely ridiculous after even a $3 tip. They don't have any kind of chipotle sauce or anything like that or any kind of dressing that is spicy. The other kids looked a little embarrassed and my daughter came in she's 19 and she's worked in the food and service industry. She also thought it was ridiculous he wouldn't give me a single jalapeno ring. He had given me a sample of the tomato soup before I bought it and I asked him if I could maybe just have a "sample" of 1 jalapeno. He said no way because we have to watch our costs. Well I think there's room in that $20 soup and sandwich for one tiny jalapeno. Plus the $3 tip! Well I felt a little stupid for leaving that big of a tip to that boy. When I said so, he said well I could refund you your tip. I said well can I give a tip to everybody else and just not to you? He said no it doesn't work that way. So he let everybody not get a tip because he wouldn't give me one single little tiny jalapeno. So even though the sandwich was okay I mean it was beautiful but a little bland. And the soup was scrumptious but it was a very small serving for the price. Everything was overshadowed by his ridiculousness. You think he was paying for that little tiny jalapeno out of his own pocket and couldn't afford 1/10 of $0.01. I can't believe as the manager, he didn't have the leeway to give me one jalapeno slice or a sample of one jalapeno. I doubt that the owners are that nutty. I almost never write a negative Yelp. If I take the time to write a Yelp it's because I'm so happy I just want to take the time to praise food or service or atmosphere or all of that. We got a discount as my husband is a veteran. First they thanked him for his service (with a handshake) as he was wearing his Desert Storm beanie and said you get a discount! However, whatever chemical cleaner they use in this location is awful (almost smells like a bathroom urinal cake :/ ) The cleaner smells very strong so that you can't even smell the food, which really is a put off.
