Panera bread has always been one of my favorite spots to get my sandwiches and the location at the Palladio never disappoints. Today I got the barbecue chicken sandwich when you talk about a savory barbecue sauce this it's the spot. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is very clean and that includes the restroom, which is definitely a plus. Looking for a place to have a casual bite to eat and leisurely sit a spell and not be bothered. Panera Bread in the Palladio shopping center in Folsom is the place for you. Order a full meal or just a beverage, and hunker down for the day if you wish. They even have free WIFi. The menu has soups, salads, sandwiches (hot and cold), bagels, cookies, pastries, and coffee drinkszThis location prefers customers to order from the kiosk. There is usually no staff at the register to take orders. But at times, I do ask the staff to take my order because the in house discounts aren't listed on the kiosk options. The last time I dined here, they had a posted offer of a free pastry with a purchase of a combo meal. The staff that helped me order at the register was unfamiliar with the register functions. I suppose that happens when cashiering is no longer a major job task. But she didn't know which pastries were included in the offer or how to enter the offer. Eventually she triumphed. I bemoaned Panera's retirement of their Napa almond chicken salad sandwich, turkey chili, and steak and white cheddar sandwich from their menu. But they still have the Greek salad; it's fantastic. The Harvest Medley Chicken salad is a new favorite of mine. Fresh tasting and looking ingredients having the crunch factor. Plus I'm luvin their iced tea options. The papaya iced tea, pomegranate hibiscus, regular iced tea, and agave lemonade are delicious and better yet... no HFCS. Great option versus the HFCS fountain drinks. Both the sodas and teas are self serve, free refills for dine in folks. Panera's is in the Palladio shopping center. To get to the shop is bit unconventional. There is a multi-story parking garage right next to the Panera's. That's the closest parking option. They have two entries into the shop. The ordering process is easy and food becomes ready pretty fast. Food price has gone up significantly which makes dining there quite unjustifiable - a very basic dinner for 3 people costed about $75, which is ridiculous! read more

Service here has greatly improved in recent years. I'm not sure what the new manager/owner's name is but I see her around in the front often and she's very welcoming. Staff makes sure you're taken care of, and food comes out quickly compared to before. read more

The server from the food pickup area literally said the salad was packaged separately so to food allergies and but she added the actual food that caused allergies. We did specify not to be added. We love their salads reason why we always order those but when asked to exchange she rolled her eyes and just took out the portion that was contained. At this point the rest is also already tainted. Hubby and I had been running errands and looking for a great late lunch option to take our baby and goldendoodle. We happen to see this location nearby and decided to stop in for outdoor dining! Stopping in I noticed all the ordering was on a touchscreen, which I hadn't seen before. I would definitely recommend this nice Folsom location! I specifically went to Panera for a cup of hot Homestyle chicken noodle soup. My husband wanted a cup of the Mexican street corn chowder. Tell me why we got it cold AF. When asked about the cold soup, we were directed to warm it up in a microwave which I don't like to use bc of radio waves. Very disappointed at this Panera location. I've been to this location about six or seven times in the past decade, most recently October 1, 2023. Overall, my experiences have been good. There is a free parking garage for the Palladio (plaza) right next to the Panera, and I have always been able to find parking close by. The Panera has been clean, never too busy, and comes with a ton of outdoor seating, as many restaurants feature in this tony plaza. There are also four self-service ordering machines at the entrance. The fresh-baked bread and pastries have always been well stocked, even later in the day. The Wi-Fi has also been reliable and fast with plenty of tables with electric receptacles in case you need to charge a phone or plug in your laptop. When I was taking pictures of the large menu placed on the wall behind the registers, an employee even came from the kitchen, ready to assist me. I usually order self-service, but I have noticed the line has never been too busy and employees are quick to take your order. My one complaint is because of a clueless employee, I would call her. I ordered a pastry on October 1 for dine in. She placed it in a paper pouch and handed it to me. I said to her I ordered it for dine in. She it was ready for dine in. Now normally, at other Panera Breads, for pastries for dine in, they serve them to you on a plate with utensils. She asked me what I needed, and I said a fork and knife. I just assumed she would hand me a plate too, because you don't normally eat with utensils on a bare table or napkin. But she didn't hand me one. I didn't feel like giving her more instructions, so I just took the utensils. It was not a huge deal, but I left underwhelmed. She was young, so I'll give her a pass, but that's why I took off one star. Panera Breads have been pretty much the same everyway I have been to. This one was no different. It's been a while since we've tried this chain of restaurants. The menu pricing is very confusing. Mom and I each chose the "Pick 2 Items": Half sandwich with cup of soup. We expected one price for "the combo." Much to our dismay, the order was rung up with a separate price for each item and thus the bill was significantly higher than expected. When I asked about the pricing, waitstaff was very kind and apologized for the confusion. She mentioned that she herself was confused at first too. She explained the menu board, which then appeared to be ala carte pricing. It felt disceptive to call it a "Pick 2" combo meal. Had I known, I would've ordered differently because the combo is not a deal. The experience was made worse when we got a dry and tasteless 1/2 chicken sandwich and a very disappointing 1/2 Grilled Cheese that looked and tasted like plastic American cheese, partially melted between dry toast that were significantly misaligned. The soup was tasty but lukewarm. The dining space was a lot of small separate areas. IMO, the layout was disjointed and interrupted flow of service. Always reliable for quality of food and good seating options. Been here several times over the years and always come here when in the area. The last year with a pandemic, many restaurants have needed to limit their menu item options as far more people have been staying home. The breakfast is limited to few items outside the bakery, but they are good. Today I had the egg (scrambled), bacon, and cheese sandwich on brioche bread. Always satisfying in taste and texture, it was just as I desired this morning. I picked up a fantastic orange cranberry muffin for later. Seating options at this location are inside (when covid restrictions are lifted) and an outside patio with weather guards in case of bad weather. The environment is pleasant, welcoming. Only the 2nd time I've eaten at a Panera, and 1st time at this location. The other time, 4 years ago and way before quarantine. At this location the ease of ordering, non-contact and using a device was actually not as odd or out of place as I expected. The system upfront was very easy and user friendly. Orders handled seamlessly; where once they are ready, someone will call out the name left on the order. Drinks, utensils etc are all made easily available and/or find. Again, I'm not a regular, yet...Noticed the 'Coffee' Bar in the front as well. Will try that next time! It wasn't busy when we got there, however by the time we left, there was a rush. Entrance faces East looking at the two story parking structure. The West side is facing the street "Via Sole" but it's not the entrance and a sign directs you through the outdoor eating area to the back door which is the main entrance. I love Panera Bread. We came here after our outing with the kids to eat lunch. I wanted to order the teriyaki chicken and broccoli bowl but they were out. They were out of water and fountain drinks as well. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich for my son and a strawberry mint lemonade for myself. We sat and let the kids eat. The grilled cheese wasn't that grilled. My daughter ended up eating it. The customer service was good. Ordering off the menu app was weird because at 6pm on a Sunday night they were already out of major ingredients like focaccia bread and roma tomatoes. My son had the new chicken sandwich which cost $13 and would have been better at Chick-fil-A but they're closed on Sundays. My frontega chicken sandwich with the substituted bread was ok above average thanks to the chicken and melted cheese. My wife said she could have made a better salad at home.
