You can't go wrong with the specialty sandwiches.

Superb new sandwich and soup eatery at the corner of Valley and Bernal, a new family favorite. We love: - clam chowder in sourdough bread bowl: our teens favorite craving! - the sandwiches: we have tried the Caprese, Cholula chicken, Crispy Crunchy chicken and the Italian - they're all good! And they're made using healthy, flavorful, thick and crunchy sourdough bread!! - the cookies: big and delicious, the lemon cookie is our favorite! We also love... - the service: friendly and they give you generous portions. - the interior, clean and modern. - parking : plenty of it! Looking forward to our next visit!

"Oh No, the Secret is Out! Consistent Service, Excellent Food." I've come to really enjoy eating at various locations of this chain. I've eaten at the San Ramon location, as well as the East Dublin location. Each time, the experience is good. Today was no exception. This location is modest, with a long skinny layout. It's a bit of a tight fit with a tables lined along the long wall. I like the old fashioned wood panels on the wall. Someone spent a lot of time designing the decor of these cafes. They look good! I ordered the half Cobb salad, which also comes with a small side of hot sourdough bread. Even the half size is big enough for most people. My order was delivered in just a few minutes. As usual, the food was consistently prepared and tastefully presented. I think the prices are reasonable. While I was eating, the considerate cafe manager asked me if the store temperature was okay for me. That's what I call great service! (I found out later the nice young lady is not actually the manager, but I bet she will be pretty soon!) As I was eating, an onslaught of locals descended upon this location. I guess the secret is out. The staff promptly took their orders and they were soon served their orders. Congratulations on setting up such pleasant cafes. Honestly, I cannot think of anything to criticize.

Turkey and cheddar. Solid 9/10! Bread was warm and delicious.

I've been curious about trying this place for a while. I am not a huge fan of fan of sourdough because I instantly think of Boudin and their sourdough rolls are a bit rough to eat. However, this place kept getting my attention so I decided to try their turkey and cheddar cheese sandwich with the works. To my surprise the bread is DELICIOUS! The sourdough is lightly crunchy and soft with a great chew to it. I'll definitely be back to try other sandwiches in the near future. The picture doesn't do it justice. Solid 4.75 overalls

    Chicken salad is good.

I agree with Jon G's review but with a few more twists and reduction of additional stars. There is no way I got what is pictured in the photos on the website. Those sandwiches look fantastic. As Jon experienced, the filling for both primary meat and condiments of lettuce, etc. was thin as shown in my photos. Flavor of the chicken salad is very good but the brisket was more like a cheese sandwich instead of a beef brisket sandwich. On the menu, it states: We offer our soup in a cup or bowl with a side of bread or served in our famous bread bowl. I ordered two soups. The creamy tomato is the same kind as you find at Safeway. The clam chowder was very good. I did not order the soup in a bread bowl and here is the issue. I asked for the side of bread or at least some Oyster crackers to put in the soup when I was told "bread only comes with the bread bowl." I said "Doesn't it say on the menu I would get bread?" and I was answered with "we don't offer that." Guess what - I don't eat there any more as I don't want to argue to get what you advertise and what I think I paid for.

Small and tight space inside, but lots of good options. Was hard to decide what to choose! My cousin and I got the Smoked Brisket and Caprese sandwich and split so we could try both. Both were delicious, but our definite favorite was the Smoked Brisket tons of well put together flavors! The Creamy potato soup was rich and delicious! Its a little different from other sandwich spots, you order your sandwich at the register step aside or sit down while they put together your sandwich and bring it to you. Shopping center has plenty parking but can get really busy certain hours. This place is pretty fast and food is great!

    Clam chowder bread bowl

I got the clam chowder bread bowl for lunch today and it was so good! The bread was perfectly crispy on the outside but chewy in the inside. The clam chowder had a super thick texture and and was very creamy. I wish the clam chowder had more clams in it but it was really tasty and easily comparable to Boudin's clam chowder. I would come back and get this again!

Delicious cookies! The lemon white macadamia nut cookie. Ooey gooey.

Just mediocre. Expensive for a relatively simple and fairly small sandwich. They look nothing like the pictures on the website.

I would have ordered their pancake if they have kimchi pancake. That's the only thing caught me off guard at this place as they only offer seafood pancake and no other variety options. The other thing where it would make the whole experience more enjoyable would be the banchan selection which was "very" limited to 3 dishes of all preserved - kimchi & radishes only. This place is good if you want quick in and out hot pot of soup and a value meal. If you are looking for some dining experience this is not the place.

I ordered their Komtang for the first time and went with the combo, which included small intestines, tripe, tendon, and brisket. My favorite part of the meal was actually the kimchi. They offer both regular and radish kimchi, and both were well-prepared with great freshness and rich flavor. The soup came with noodles already inside, along with a side of rice. There was also a bowl of green onions where you can add as much or as little as you'd like. You season the soup yourself with salt and pepper, which lets you customize it to your taste. Overall, the soup felt very healthy, light, and clean. You can taste the pork broth, but it isn't overpowering at all. Very comforting and satisfying.

*** Vegetarian Review ***…read more Full disclaimer. I haven't been to the restaurant, but I've tried their vegan potstickers at the Kaiser Vallejo Farmers Market. So, since I wasn't able to find a check in for that market, I had to come here to sing their praises. 6 Vegan Potstickers at the market are $13. I recommend spending the $1 for chili oil. Not sure what they charge at the restaurant for these fried pockets of deliciousness, but I tell you if these taste this good at a farmers market, packaged in a box, and I wait 10 minutes before I find a seat in the hospital cafeteria, and it still tastes this good, the restaurant must be out of this world. The wrapper has a great thickness and offers a sticky and chewy bite. Pan fried still comes out after having these steam in a to go box, so the restaurant would probably make these pan fried babies have even more texture. Comes with a dipping sauce, but combine it with the chili oil if you can handle a little heat and Yes Chef!! I heard they are at the SF Ferry Building Market on Saturday and Walnut Creek Farmers Market on Sunday. Double check those, but finding a great vegan potsticker is not easy.

It was early dinner time on a Friday evening and it wasn't overly crowded. All 6 of us got different items and overall it's a matter of preference for what kind of broth and protein you'd like that depicts the meal, the toppings are generally all the same. Consider this place to almost be a "make your own ramen" type of thing, in that you're given a platter of toppings to add to your bowl of steaming hot broth, mix it and let it sit, then voila! It's ready to eat. For a rainy winter evening, it was perfect to have some tasty noodle soup!

The portions were pretty generous. -grapefruit tea: thought it was pretty yummy! I also tried out the super fruit tea and i really liked it but personally found it to be a little too sweet. If you love tomato soups as much as i do then it's definitely a great option! -takoyaki & lamb skewers: my sister had one dish from her combo order and i has my own but was able to try both! The lamb skewers were a bit smaller than expected but were flavorful with a fragrant aroma. The takoyaki came in about 5 balls and while they didn't include all typical takoyaki toppings it was still pretty good considering it came as a combo! Overall, i really loved coming by this place, my main concern is that it's actually in a pretty busy plaza so parking can be a little difficult during peak business hours. Otherwise it's located in a really great area relatively close to some shopping areas such as the Livermore outlets or even other smaller shopping plazas. Give this place a try if you're in the area and looking for a good eat without breaking the wallet!
