Shout out to the amazing team at Jersey Mike's Subs in Pleasanton! My husband and I decided to give this place a try because we had a gift card. This was our first time ever and we could not have asked for a better experience, largely thanks to the manager, Kaiel from Brazil. From the moment we walked in, he was incredibly hospitable, kind, enthusiastic, professional, and genuinely personable. What stood out most was his consistently positive attitude toward every customer who came through the door. He made everyone feel welcomed and valued and that level of customer service is refreshing and rare to experience. Kaiel from Brazil truly made us feel right at home and it is clear he takes a lot of pride in both his work and his team. On top of the excellent service, the meal was absolutely delicious. We ordered a giant #17 Mike's Famous Philly to share and it exceeded our expectations. Everything was fresh, flavorful and made just right. The facility was also clean. When I mentioned that there were no more paper towels in the restroom, the team immediately took action, which really showed their attention to detail and commitment to customer care. Please do not visit this location. There is about five employees and the service is terrible. Imagine just trying to order some dinner and the guy taking your order lies and says he lose your ticket. Seven other patrons come in and they never start your food and an employee uses the grill steals from the company and then they offer you a free sub for the inconvenience after being in the restaurant for 30 minutes. Jersey Mike's has an app that you can accumulate points with every purchase, and you get a free regular sized sandwich for your birthday :) I usually order their cold subs (#6 Roast Beef & Provolone or #13 The Original Italian), and you can watch them slice your meat live with a meat slicer :0 They'll ask if you want it Mike's Way (onions, lettuce, tomatoes, red wine vinegar, olive oil blend, oregano, and salt), and the answer is yes. I was skeptical about red wine vinegar in my sandwich, but I like it! You can always opt out of it. One of the staff recently recommended a hot sandwich I never tried: #43 Chipotle Cheese Steak. This is my preferred Jersey Mike's location. Ample parking, next to other food options if someone in your party is craving something else, buy one giant get one for $5 after 5pm, friendly workers, clean... really, the list goes on and on. I make the drive out from Oakland and it's almost a Sunday evening ritual for me to grab a couple sandwiches and head to Meadowlark. Why 4 stars? Because statistically speaking, it's great. But it's not perfect. Come too late in the evening and they might be out of bread or closed before the listed hours. I also had a couple of giant slimy turkey sandwiches last weekend that were completely inedible. Both giants got tossed out. It was like chewing on slimy tendons. Opened up the sandwich and the turkey was a weird brown and yellow color. Then of course, got sick from it. I'll spare any yelpers from having to see it. I ordered a couple sandwiches last night for pickup which my husband was going to grab and low and behold I ended up tearing a tendon in one of my fingers and we had to go to the ER. I called the restaurant to let them know I had to cancel my order in hopes that they hadn't made them yet and Nicky, a literal angel who I spoke to over the phone let me know the sandwiches hadn't been made yet due to a shortage of white bread to which she offered us a different kind that they did have. This was my first time trying Jersey Mike's and I was not disappointed. Decided to try something new and upon entering was greeted and welcomed in by the friendly staff. I told them it was my first time and they told me I could get a free cookie! I then asked for their recommendations and they made some great ones, so I went with a club sandwich on their recommended rosemary bread. The employees felt like they actually wanted to be there. I had my very first visit to this location, and I absolutely loved it! I was greeted right away as soon as I walked in, which felt nice. I got the #9, mikes way, with chipotle mayo and jalapeños. With a side of the chipotle mayo and buffalo sauce. This sandwich was hella good! when you take into account the salt, pepper, and oils & vinegar, it's a well rounded sandwich. Do I wish the bread was toasted or warmed, definitely. But it didn't stop me from devouring it in minutes. Having the mayo and Buffalo sauce on the side was the game changer. Shout out to sandwich makes Kyle and Gio, they did not skimp on anything and made one of the best chain sandwiches I've had in a real long time. Very Disappointing! This is our go to Jersey Mike's. Normally the staff are friendly, outgoing, and helpful. I have an allergy to onions and they normally go above and beyond to ensure my sandwich is cared for properly. They wipe down the board and knife, they change their gloves, and on occasion have taken the lettuce out of a new container to ensure no cross contamination, although I have never asked them to do this. We are such frequent visitors that they know and comment to us when we haven't been in for awhile. I don't know what was the problem with the woman slicing meats today but she was very unhelpful. I identified my allergy ahead of ordering and she proceeded to look around with a puzzled look on her face. She then proceeded to tell me that she would recommend not getting anything with lettuce as they put the lettuce on the sandwiches after the onions. When I tried to tell her that has never been an issue before she doubled down and repeated what she said. She came across as someone who did not want to take the extra care to accommodate me. She came across as someone that wanted me to not get what I wanted because that made things more convenient for her. We have never been treated so poorly at this location. The young man Brayden Nakken helping me with my sub was nothing short of extraordinary, his abilities to craft the pinnacle of a jersey mikes was mesmerizing to watch and honestly inspiring, it made me realize that I need to get to the top tier of sub makers at my establishment of work (Subway).
