New sandwich spot!! The staff was friendly and made sure our order was prepared just right! The menu offers a great variety of sandwiches, catering to all tastes and dietary preferences. I got the turkey sandwich. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. If I have any special requests, they made sure to accommodate me for the sauces/fillings I want. The presentation of the sandwiches was great, and they didn't skimp on the fillings! It's clear that they take pride in their craft :)

    6" Pastrami sandwich
    Robyn F.

I was out and about running some errands and saw this sandwich shop was in the same shopping center. I decided to try it because I have loved the Sourdough & Co in my hometown. When I first walked through the door I was greeted warmly. It doesn't always happen so I definitely noticed. I took some time to review the menu really quickly and chose my sandwich order. I got a 6" pastrami sandwich. I was asked if I wanted all the regular toppings (the employee rattled them off to me). I was then asked to pick the type of cheese. I didn't notice that they were posted on the menu, but again the employee was able to tell me all the options. I was then asked if I wanted mustard and given the option for dijon or regular yellow mustard. I liked being able to customize the toppings to my liking. Oh and I was also asked to confirm if I wanted the sandwich toasted or cold. After submitting payment I was told it would only be a couple minutes until my order was ready. The establishment had plenty of table seating. It appeared clean and tidy. My name was called, I chose to take my order to-go. The sandwich was ready in a bag with napkins. The sandwich was delicious. I love a good chewy sourdough and this bread had the right texture because outside had a bite to it but the inside was soft. There was a good ratio of sandwich filling so I was happy.

All I gotta say is the bread is amazing so flaky and crispy with every bite I got a turkey avocado sandwich with all of the trimmings and it was everything super mouthwatering who doesn't love an amazing sandwich. The waiter took my order. I asked for suggestions. He gave me a menu asked what I'd like and what I didn't like to make my sandwich exactly what I wanted .. It is super cute inside little tables with their logo on them so loving it. San Rafael has lots of sandwich places but this one is the best for me. Can't wait to go back and try something else.

Pastrami & Turkey sandwich, clam chowder in a bread bowl in the back
    Ashley W.

Ordered the clam chowder in a bread bowl and the pastrami and turkey sandwich. Clam chowder was pretty good, not the best, but still a solid 7. Sandwich was amazing, good portions of meat and fresh veggies. I feel like the bread on the sandwich was top notch as far as sandwich bread goes, but on the note of sourdough, I felt like it was missing the SF sourdough twang. The service was great and the store was very clean. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for their sandwiches!

    French Dip
    Diara N.

The French Dip was pretty good. It had a nice layer of meat and the cheese was gooey. The bread was delicious as well especially when dipped into the au jus. It was a little pricey for a 6 inch sub. The service was pretty fast, and the cashier was nice!

The service was impeccable with helpful workers constantly monitoring and making sure everyone was taken care of. One of the workers was friendly and gave us the run down on recommendations and what was popular. The interior is so colorful too! This place is amazing !! The sandwich hit the spot with the perfect amount of meat and veggies along with the sauce. The pink beans were nice to try and were a nice side to the perfectly salted ribs. The ribs were made so well and had the perfect amount of salt to meat ratio and went well with the rice. The lemon zesty salad was refreshing and the garlic platains really hit the spot. We both enjoyed the meal so much and need to try other items.

We got two types of plantains as our apps: sweet fried and savory fried, with the latter pounded flat and improved with some of the tableside housemade chilli water. But my crispy chicken tacos I ordered were actually taquitos - unclear from the menu and not what I was hoping for. The chicken inside was dry and bland and the avocado sauce obviously made from unripe avocados and foul. The only saving grace was the bed of greens which was actually perfectly dressed in a light lemon dressing. My poor friend ordered the vegetarian taco plate and it arrived deconstructed. Tortillas, a bowl of watery beans, a heap of pickled onions, an uncut whole pickled jalapeño, and two long blocks of white cheese - I thought it was tofu! Bland and shoulda been cheaper if he had to assemble it himself. Logistics: - indoor seating only - limited street parking nearby - You may be sat at shared tables to maximize how many can sit inside at once

Good location, plenty of parking across the street in a public garage, nice décor and ambiance, wonderful staff, and a good menu, although it is light on vegetarian options; but if you are not a picky vegetarian, you can still leave happy and fed. There is plenty of indoor seating, and even a nice side patio protected from sun and wind; however, being alongside 3rd Street, a rather busy street, it can be a bit noisy. As nice as the day was, we opted to dine inside so we could chat. They have some good appetizers, and we chose the onion rings and the must-try Ooey Cheesy Balls (5 fried potato balls, mozzarella, parmesan, parsley, house-made smoked jalapeno aioli). The onion rings are plentiful and not at all greasy, a great start to the meal, but the anchor of the apps (for me at least!) are the Cheesy balls. They are different: basically mashed potato balls with cheese inside, deep-fried, and delicious! The house-made smoked jalapeño aioli is awesome too, and it's my preferred dip for the onion rings. For the entrees, I tried a pizza for once, after seeing many good reviews. I tried the Blue pizza (Garlic & herb olive oil, mozzarella, blue cheese, spinach, artichoke, mushroom, red onion). We also had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken sandwich (Butter lettuce, tomato, fresh slaw, pickle slices, house- made smoked jalapeno aioli (mild), brioche bun), the Chicken Salad Sandwich (Poached chicken, celery, parsley, dill, lettuce, tomato, pickled red onion, mayonnaise, focaccia bread) with an added mashed potatoes for a side, and a Chicken Pesto Panini (Pesto, roasted bell pepper, spinach, provolone, mayonnaise, focaccia bread). All the meals were very fresh, and the food was great! The Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich was a tower to look at, with two breasts as the main feature. The other sandwiches were well liked as well, but I know I was the lucky one with the pizza for lunch. If you like blue cheese, this is a great pizza you don't often find elsewhere. The toppings were just right, though I wouldn't have minded a bit more blue cheese, and the olive oil base instead of a red sauce was perfect for letting the flavors really come through, with the cheese, meaty chunks of mushrooms, and onions all balancing each other. The crust was a separate delight, a very thin sourdough type with a crust worthy of eating on its own - and it was! Sadly, between the appetizers and the entrees, there was no room for a dessert, and we all took home some of our lunches, and two of us brought home food for others! Always share the goodness . . . Can't wait for the next visit!

The breading on the calamari is very light which was great since some places over bread it. The meatballs was really good when eaten with the bread, loved dipping the bread in the sauce. Some folks in my group wanted fresh coffee, sodas and juices from the cold case, pre-packaged deli items, bbq from the grill, and to use the restroom. Don't let the size of this market fool you into believing they are a one trick pony. Besides groceries they have alot to offer. The bbq stand (outside near the back parking lot), plants, gifts, groceries, fresh seafood and meat counters, sandwich and deli counter, self serve hot prepared food bar, coffee and pastries bar, bar ( in the back patio facing the marina), and individual cold case drinks... and that is not everything.
