Oh yeah, they brought back the hot sauce bar! If it weren't for the price, this place would be in my top 3 sandwhich spots in town and they definitely have the best hot sub out of the local chains. Probably the best ambiance as well and they keep it pretty clean. Service at this location is always very friendly and fast. I usually get whatever the special is but my favorite sub on the menu is the jerk, usually topped with a dose of their hottest(I think it is a scorpion style) sauce. They have about 10 different varieties available and they give you a little cup to go even though they advertise having packets, they do not in fact have packets(bummer). I will usually hit this place up in the spring time for their 5 gallon pickle buckets, which are great for my garden when I have my own peppers and tomatoes going, cheaper than Home Depot. The parking lot does suck though, so be aware, folks going to and from the In and Out have no chill. read more

One of my go-to spots when coming or passing through Reno. This visit, I noticed the 'Under New Management" sign in the window. Wasn't sure about that or why? But, my go-to sandwich, the Jamaican Jerk turkey sandwich was on point as usual. Usually I have to hit up their restroom after being on the road a few hours. And their restrooms are cleaner than most. Which isn't trivial and is appreciated. They've got well-stocked areas for condiments like hot sauces. And a well-proportioned drink station with quite a few different beverage choices. The employee-kids have all been really cool each time I've been. And parking's typically a snap. TLDR: Overall another fast food style sandwich establishment. Amazing and friendly service, average tasting sub that's over priced. The ambiance: the restaurant is new so it's really clean. There's decor throughout that fits the motif of a firehouse. There's ample seating and tables so it can accommodate any sized group. 4/5 The service: 5/5! Without question the friendliest employees present. Able to answer questions and provide suggestions. It was my first time at the restaurant and they made me feel welcomed. I would come back for the service! 5/5 The food: Unfortunately the sandwich was less exciting. The price was steep in comparison to some other non chain restaurants as well as the chain competitors. The bread was average, the ingredients seemed fresh, but not blown away by the price. The pickle was great! No special sauces or flavor profiles to write home about. 3/5 If you're hungry there's other sandwich options available that taste better and that are more reasonably priced. This is really a shame because Firehouse is great. Unfortunately this location is a quality control nightmare. It was very good the first year or so but it has dropped in quality so much that I'm not going to go here anymore. The sandwiches are sloppy and subpar. The takeout paper bags are covered in greasy fingerprints with your soaking wet receipt attached. The sandwich ingredients slide all over the roll as if the lettuce was not properly drained after washing. This is the norm here. If you have the opportunity, try a different location. read more

I was so disappointed with my last visit! My sandwich had barely any meat! The meat was weighed and was sliced so tissue paper thin you could almost see through it. I said the sandwich did not look like the picture. The employee told me the picture is staged so what they make never looks like the picture. I asked for a refund. I left the restaurant hungry and went to get a burger. I did not like sandwich nor service. The restaurant is clean but the customer sucked! The location I went to is the only one in the city but the product is inferior to the cost! The next day I went to Safeway bought my own meat and fixings made my own large, heavy sub-sandwich and the money I spent I can make several Sandwiches for less money. We've ordered from this firehouse subs multiple times now. The first couple times were great, and correct. The last few times however have not been great. One of the sandwiches we had ordered in person with no lettuce, tomato or onion, had all of it on there. It was inedible since the small shredded lettuce pieces were mixed in with all the sauce and meat. It was to go and we didn't know it had all the stuff on it until we got home. We also had some issues of missing items on a few delivery orders. We learned our lesson. read more

Went in for a great sub. I knew what I wanted and the tall brown-haired guy was nice and friendly but, that's where it ended. As you can see, he put wheat bread, no pickle, add bell peppers. He even asked if I wanted them on after the sandwich was baked, which I did. I drove home, ready to dig in, and I immediately smelled the pickle before I opened the container. I'm giving three stars because I'm not trying to disparage any Firefighters. My first issue is with the bread. Why is it anytime I order I sandwich from here the bread always seems to get soggy. I like my bread more on the water resistant side. But here I always seem to get some transfer of fluid into my bun and I end with an au ju dip like soggy bottom bread. Is toasted bread suppose to get this water logged this easily? Next is the time. I've come into a firehouse subs on a few occasions now and there's always lots of empty seats and plenty of places to sit. I've never even had to wait in line to order. So why is it that my sandwich takes 10+ minutes to make and get out to me? I've had the turkey and roast beef sandwiches from here and each one had me feeling like my sandwich goodies were pressed between two wet sponges. Each medium sandwich was 12 buck and change plus tax and they also asked for a tip so I ended paying about 16 sandwich only, no chips or drink. When I walked in the place was pretty much empty but I still stood at the counter for about 4 minutes before the people in the kitchen even acknowledge I was there. You walk into a place and you think firemen and sub sandwich you think some huge mounting very delicious sandwich. That's not what I got I got basically middle of the road. We wanted to try this place because we hadn't yet and according to their menu they specialize in hot sandwiches so I tried the large N.Y. Steamer (hot pastrami and corned beef) for $15.99. Horrible- about 1 slice of chewy corned beef and pastrami on each half and a slice of melted white cheese (so tasteless I'm not sure what kind it was). No mustard or anything, just hot mayonaise I guess. No saurkraut or any other condiments. They must've microwaved it becauase I could barely chew through the meat or the bread. Needless to say, we won't be back. This place is worthless. I've had better sandwiches from a gas station. My wife had the Spicy Cajun Chicken which was a little better tasting but still extremely small for $12.99. It won't let me post this review for some reason. read more

The staff working were extremely rude and yelled across the store about me wanting lettuce when in the receipt I was supposed to have it on my sandwich. The girl working was also extremely sassy about names on the orders when I accidentally gave her my husbands name rather than mine. Came in today from Fresno California! & was planing on going to a near by restaurant but we switched the plan and so glad we did ! These sandwiches were AWESOME! And Banu the guy at the front was so sweet ! Greeted us with a huge smile & even made jokes as we ordered, great customer service! The world needs more of him ! The sandwich was toasted to perfection a slight crunch but still so soft and fluffy. Everything inside was so fresh and the turkey was juicy. Amazing ! Seriously ! Great place to eat !
