I do not recommend this establish!! The service is POOR at best. The restaurant was dirty, unsanitary and trashy. Added the employees are unprofessional. One star is too generous for South Beach Bar & Grill. To write this review I've to minimum select. As a recent military retiree to Chesterfield, I visited South Beach Bar & Grill November 6, 2023. After waiting at the bar for service for approximately 15 minutes the bartender asked me what I would like too drink. She did not provide me a food and/or drink menu. After receiving my drink, I asked a different employee "How do I get a food menu"? She replied sarcastically..."well start by letting the bartender know you are here.." My reply was "maam I have a drink in front of me...isn't obvious" On my receipt I requested for a phone call from the manager. No manager called after a week. On November 13, 2023 I visited South Beach Bar and Grill with the intent of speaking to a manager. After informing the lead employee my concern, she stated the following weak excuses: 1. South Beach Bar & Grill does not have managers on duty like typical restaurants. 2. If I were a regular customer I would know to ask for a drink and/or food menu 3. Sometimes South Beach Bar & Grill get busy and the employees get overwhelmed 4. She would have a manager call me. After more than 14 days of waiting, I decided to write this review and informed others to "beware'. Ok, so this place is not your upscale, trendy, make a great date type of place. This is the around the corner, grabbing a drink with a friend or family, want great nachos and an attentive bar tender type place. Know what you are out for, and you'll have a great time! We went with a party of 7 and had a ball picking tunes on the streaming jukebox, got a few rounds, probably talked too loud (sorry if anyone was there that we bugged), and had a really great time without needing to wash dishes in the back to pay our tabs. One of the oddest places in the area. I've gone in the middle of the day and it's old white dudes at the bar and Jay-Z playing on the juke box. It's a real mixture of cultures and ages, but a great place to kick back. The food is great, the burgers look like the burgers in a photo. The bartenders are great and the drinks are worth way more than the 11am-7pm $2.25, happy hour prices. Being "Black", coming in and prejudging is easy... but if you can get past the country and rock songs they play in between the hip-hop and R&B (think old school skate land mix), and aren't bashful about talking to a complete stranger... you'll have a ball. This place isn't closed at all! Just went and it was very trash, food was horrible all they could recommend was bacon cheese fries that were great . That's when you know the food isn't going to be great after having the fries we decided to not order any more food. If you are lookin to get sloppy drunk and you are trashy this is the place to hangout. Highly recommend this place gets checked out by safety and health department because they are not up to code. This building has never had a decent establishment in the 25 years I've lived in Chesterfield. Add South Beach to the fail list. Its an extremely less classy attempt at a Boathouse. The beer selection is that of a CVS pharmacy. I know plenty of food carts in Richmond which serve way better dishes. The ambiance is reminiscent of a trailer park. I am all about local business but please uphold at least some level of quality. read more

Trent is awesome. I enjoy going to South Beach House also, have not been to City Beach as frequently. The food is always yummo and my favorite is probably the shrimp quesadilla, but I used to get the buffalo chicken dip and loved the cheese out of it, but now I don't eat cluck clucks anymore. They get my favorite tequilas in and it's always a fun time. I enjoy going after work and relaxing at the bar. I'm a night owl...so not sure what the daylight crowd is about. read more

This place is a joke. Trashy and way too many bros, not to mention their beer mugs are plastic and always taste like soap, the beer was WARM and nobody's shirts had sleeves. This is the first restaurant that I ever considered walking out of after seated. We waited almost 40 minutes for a server to arrive. Semi-apologetic and indifferent, she explained that it was $1 burger night and she was swamped. Not our issue. Definite service nightmare - food when it finally arrived was edible. Luckily for me, I landed here on a Thursday night, hungry, thirsty, and by myself. Wife and son had other plans, so i went to spend time with all the other people in my brain. Beer was good, Bacon Egg Burger was good, scenery was good, and thankfully i didnt find my way to the beer pong tables. Next time my family has plans leaving me alone, I'm coming here to stuff my face, get lit, take Friday off, and taking a Lyft home! Came on a Friday, the second I walked in the door I was hit with a whirlwind of cigarette, cigar, and black and mild smoke. The room was literally one big cloud. Unbearable. However, the reason they get an extra couples stars is ONLY because on Friday nights they have dueling pianos in the side bar (separate room, non smoking) the piano guys were a great show. Didn't try any of the mixed drinks. Just stuck to beer and a side car. Definitely didn't try any food, I don't think I would trust that... Service was decent. read more

Can't speak for the food, but it's a decent watering hole. Summertime can bring in quite a crowd due to the huge garage door in the main bar area that gets pulled up to direct access to the outside patio. Staff is attentive and friendly. It's a pretty decent dive bar. The drinks are strong and the music never stops. There's a TouchTunes in one section of the bar for top 20 hits and live band in the side bar. It's also one of the few bars in the area where you can smoke inside if that's your thing. Looks like it could be a fun place for a bar, but DO NOT go here if you're looking to eat late - and by late I mean all of 9:30. We left after an hour 15 with only one drink under our belt and food that never arrived. Service sucked. Taco Bell was a blessing after that point. read more

We choose the South Beach Bar and Grill yesterday for lunch, we wanted to try something different, we were seated in the back dining room the waitress told us she would give us a few minutes to decide on the menu and once we decided we waited 20 minutes for our server to return to take our orders, I love seafood so I imagined that they would include some seafood options on the menu but I ended up ordering a chicken sandwich other then some appetizers the only other option for seafood was a crab cake sandwich. They should change the name of this establishment to "South Beach Bar" with less emphasis on "Grill" we felt second rate to the "bar patrons" and at some points actually felt like a burden, at first I felt the server did her best but when we left I had no idea where to pay the bill so I walked up to the bar handed the server my credit card she swiped it handed me the ticket and then just walked away, no have a nice day, thanks for coming kiss my ass or nothing that sealed the deal we will never eat at this establishment again. read more

I want to start off by saying I'm a big fan of S.B. the bartenders are wonderful and always attentive. I went in yesterday first day of NFL football and got the Nachos that were on special. I got a small plate of chips topped with chili that came from a can and a few jalapeños with a side of sour cream. I think it was 6-7 bucks in my opinion no matter the cost it should have come with FRESH chili and toppings. When the bouncer initially refused to let my girlfriend and I enter due to her Florida driver's license, I should have just left. Even though she's 23, I'm 26, and we told them she wasn't going to be drinking anyway. We were told they've had an issue with underage drinking. Looking around the place, I immediately bought that. It does seem like that kind of establishment. My girlfriend was lucky that she wasn't drinking, because what I was served was a warm bottle of disappointment. Skunky Fat Tire that wasn't anywhere near the proper temperature, brought to me by a waitress who seemed very annoyed by my existence. We ordered an appetizer to snack on while we watch the piano player. Fried shrimp covered in a thick, mayo-like substance. It was absolutely disgusting. The piano player was fine, but I felt more sorry for him than anything else. He's talented, but reduced to playing for a crowd of mongoloids who just want to talk over him. The only reason I feel like this place deserves even a single star is because it was interesting to see the type of crowd it drew. If "Jerry Springer" were an adjective, it would be the most appropriate way to describe South Beach. My personal favorite sight was the cougar with a long piece of toilet paper stuck to her shoe getting pumped full of shooters by a bro in a pink polo with a popped collar. If that sounds like a good time, by all means visit South Beach. Just be warned: when you watch this stuff on TV you don't have to smell them.
