Most vendors operate under a covered shed which protects against bad weather, and the vibe here is friendly and upbeat. It feels good to be supplementing your groceries with this fresh foods, most of them grown in area farms. There's also a food truck parked here and picnic tables underneath the shed if you're hungry (there is a homemade pizza stand, too). The market operates on Fridays from 3-6 p.m. up to the end of September. We highly recommend stopping by if you're in the neighborhood.

The food is Clean, wholesome, healthy and the bakery family owned, it's the only place we buy bread and bake goods for our family. they make food the way it was intended to be made, the old-fashioned, clean and honest way. It's worth the trip every single time and I cannot give them a more positive review. The staff is awesome and kind and knowledgeable. My Mother In Law & wife really liked the sourdough too. All the breads are made there fresh daily, of course. Bantam Bread has a nice selection of baked goods also. Can't say that I'll partake in those anytime soon, but I could always bring some home for the non-carnivores living in the house. Since I pass by this shop four days a week, I know I'll drop in occasionally to pick up more sourdough bread, even if it's not for myself.

I was asked if I wanted them heated, which would take 5 min, and I said no. I paid and was able to walk out. This is a grocery store, so no place to sit and eat here. I left, heated up the food on my own. And it was great! Best samosa I've had in a while (filled with potato and standard samosa filling) and well flavored. The kebab was also great, well spiced and flavorful. It may have been a touch dry but frankly didn't detract for me. Good food, reasonably priced, and close to where I work so glad I decided to stop by!

It remains a small, independently owned store with a surprisingly full stock, lots of fresh meats, deli items, produce, a large beer cooler with all the local and foreign brands you night desire, and a very friendly and helpful staff. We're especially fond of the nice folks behind the deli counter. Our complaints are about the same: the prices hover on the high side. The prices are generally quite a bit higher than the nearby Stop and Shop, but honestly, the quality of their locally produced items is far higher. Still, if you're buying some basics like soup or milk, you'll pay more here, and some prices can be really way up there. Sometimes we're frustrated by that, other times we're grateful to find some delicious fresh fish or prepared salads. Bantam is not our first market of choice, but we're here regularly for some things we like and want.

Their produce is very good quality and reasonably priced. They usually post their sales for the week in The Sunday Republican newspaper. This is one of my main sources of produce in the winter and spring months until our summer CSA kicks in. They also carry a small assortment of snacks and dairy items as well as local maple syrup and honey . Sometimes you can find produce that may not be in regular grocery stores. On one of my trips I came across some black radishes.
