We have been dining at the South fork for years and when the pandemic started we started supporting them by ordering for pick up. We are regulars and the staff knows us, we really like the place but today I am afraid everything I value of this restaurant will change. We order our meal and when we got home I see this little portion of fish it really looks like a nugget. Is a shame because I will have to cook something at home otherwise I'll go to bed hungry. There is absolutely no reason to give such a small portion. The cost of the food in restaurants is never higher than 18% . You are not doing me a favor I think is the other way around. Hands down my favorite place to go. The staff is the absolute best part (besides the food and drinks obviously). Finding a restaurant to sit and eat at during Covid was hard, so one night my boyfriend and I ended up here. So glad we did! The bartender, Paige, and the managers Alex and Lauren, are the nicest people I have ever met. They were constantly checking in to make sure that we were good on drinks and that our food came out how we wanted it. Paige makes the absolute BEST blueberry lemonade. Thats pretty much all we drank every night we were there (which was almost every night of our visit). We also went here for brunch, and the bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary's, SO worth the money. Had lunch here today based on the recommendation of a friend. Let me start by saying the food was very good. However, the service was without a doubt the worst I have ever had (and I eat out a lot!). Chris L was our server. Her was dismissive from the beginning, wrongly told us to ingredients (thankfully there was no allergy), but the worst part is we never saw him again until I flagged him down to request a second round of drinks. He brought a small carafe of soda that did not fill the two glasses (never offered another) and never brought the water for the other patron and then simply NEVER came back. The food was delivered by someone else. The chicken BLT had NO lettuce. He talked me into slaw yet brought me fries. Told us the chicken salad had no grapes and it was loaded with grapes. Eventually I was forced to ask a different server to please bring us a box and our check. At that point, Chris L magically reappeared as it was "tip" time. I told him about the grapes and his response....."are you sure, it was probably a walnut". No apology, nothing - yeah I'm pretty sure I know the difference between a grape and a walnut!!!! I was then offered, "well we have some new chefs maybe they changed things".....as a server, you might want to know that!!! Needless to say, if I ever dare venture back, I will make sure I am in a different server's section!!!! read more

A little disappointed tonight. They seem to be out of meatloaf always my father ordered it tonight because it was available. It was really spicy. He said next time he is ordering the short ribs that he knows he liked. Also, we got there before 6pm and you can either get 2 glasses of wine with a dinner on the early menu or a bottle of wine with 2 dinners. We will have to pay more attention next time because previous waitresses have been more accommodating if someone wasn't drinking alcohol. South Fork Grille is a nice lunch spot inside Coconut Pointe in Estero. We went in late on a Saturday afternoon when the place was fairly empty looking for a quick lunch e we while running errands. We had a second home in Estero for six years and loved South Fork, so much that for our last night in town we went their for our last night dinner. We were taken their for New Year's Eve by a family member. The restaurant has expanded. The welcome at the entry desk was not warm but we soon got our reserved table. The wait staff were pleasant but not really on the side of the guest. We ordered drinks and then were asked to order from the menu, which we did. The food arrived almost immediately. Two of our part had prime rib which was fatty, grislily and improperly drained. It was virtually inedible and largely was not eaten. It was a great slice of meat, not the usual carved ends and not cooked as specified. My piece of cod was nice but tiny and our host's meal was not delivered as specified. Poor value. We were rushed, had no time to really considered what wines we wanted before our meal arrived. I was still halfway through an initial glass of beer. Seems like, after expansions, the management has gotten slack and greedy. Won't be going back and recommend others to stay away. read more

After a rave review from the concierge at Hyatt Residence Club, we were eager to try South Fork Grille. Unfortunately on a busy Saturday evening, it just did not live up to the hype. We missed the main entrance so walked through the outside seating area and through what a side door and through much of the restaurant before we finally found someone who could help us. The interior of the restaurant felt crowded and loud. We were happy that the evening was pleasant enough to sit outside. DH was very disappointed with his fish 'n chips. He rated it a two on a scale of one to five. The portion was not large, the fries were not memorable. He also was unhappy with the selection of beers. The short ribs with gnocchi sounded appealing to me. The portion was very large and all in all it was tasty. It was somewhat heavy and not something I would order again. More "comfort food" for a colder climate. Another reason for two stars was the service. Erin was our "seasoned" server, who was training a new server Katie. Erin seemed to have a bit of an attitude. However, when things were turned over to Katie, things went a bit smoother. She assured us she was an experienced server, just new to South Fork Grille. With so many dining choices in the area, I am not sure we will return to South Fork Grille. We like to give local restaurants a chance, but in this case we actually prefer California Pizza Kitchen which is a short distance away. read more

Went here for a Father's Day dinner. Service was incredibly slow despite the restaurant not being full. 30 mins to get an appetizer and nearly 60 mins to get the main courses. Food was good but not great. Portion size varied item to item across our table. If it wasn't for it being Father's Day I would lean towards a 2-star rating. Staff were friendly but service was VERY slow. Would consider other local options next time. read more

The food was very mushy and brown. I had some very very greasy rice that was brown with fish on top. I don't even know what kind of fish it was supposed to be. A sea of beige and grease. Yum!! Went for happy hour & ended up getting Hungry. Ordered the buddha bowl and it was very good! The cauliflower rice by itself doesn't have much flavor but the smoky taste the Brussels sprouts had made it so good all mixed together!! It has a nice little kick to it. Perfect dish! We've been here a few times over the years and so I feel pretty confident that the service and quality of food is consistent. They offer a wide selection of seafood and land dishes (chicken and beef), and we've been more than satisfied with every dish we've tried. There is both indoor and outdoor dining and the restaurant is located within the Coconut Point shopping center. The outdoor dining is a bit disappointing, as your view is of the adjacent parking lot and nothing more. We usually opt to sit inside the dining room, which is divided into two different sections. I prefer the front section as it is a little further away from the door and greeting area. Last night we had the early bird special -- 2 entrees + bottle of wine for $35. You can't go wrong with that. My wife had the braised short ribs and I had the salmon. Both meals were delicious and well prepared. The other unexpected joy of the place was that our entrees came out very quickly. We were actually a bit surprised at how quick they came out -- which was an unexpected bonus. Since we saved so much money on dinner, we spluged on dessert and got the flourless chocolate torte. So delicious! We'll be back again in the future! read more

If it was possible, I would give South Fork Grille zero out of five stars. I have been to this restaurant at least five times and to say the least I was quite horrified with the service and food at South Fork Gille tonight. To begin, it took 15 minutes just to receive a glass of water. Due to the fact that my family and I felt sympathetic, we decided to stay and order dinner. After 40 minutes of waiting and watching the atmosphere of the restaurant go ups in flames and no drink refreshments, we were served dinner. The meal was hot, but the portion was so small we all cleaned our plates and still felt hungry. After at least 20 minutes of not seeing our waitress, a family member of mine went to simply request for the bill. While he did that, ironically the waitress brought the bill and asked "how was the food." This is when I responded "it is too late for that" and she slapped the bill shut in my face and stomped off. When we finally got the bill back, 50% of the price was deducted, but we did not wish for a price reduction. We just wished that we could have received good food and service. read more

Well, the food was quite good. We had a group of 12. We had a set menu, choice of 3 entries and choice of 2 desserts. We paid for our food separately from our drinks. I paid cash for my drinks. The bill was $10.65, and I paid $12 cash. Our waitress came to our table and announced to the table of 12 that the tip was not included in that bill for those who paid cash (me). I actually did short her 78 cents. However I tipped her over 20% on a bill that had tip included (7.00) She was rude, she embarrassed me, in return I should have asked her to credit my card and rerun it. I will not be back. Her attitude stunk and had she taken a moment she may have realized she made over and above the 20%. read more

Disappointed:(. We had reservations for 7:30 on Mother's Day, and after viewing the "special" menu, I chose the NY Strip Steak- only to be told they were out. I understand running out of items- but not when you know it will be a very busy day, AND you put it on your Specials menu! There were no other steaks on the menu, and since I'm not much of a seafood eater, I ordered roasted chicken. I did enjoy the dinner and the flavor was very good, but I can make chicken at home. Although our server was friendly, he was not very attentive: he did not pick up our dirty appetizer plates so when our food came, we were passing, collecting and moving them just to get our meal. So I can say, everyone enjoyed their meals, but with so many other restaurants to choose from, we will probably not return. read more

Ordered takeout last night have been supporting this place for years had the two for $35 they have new containers which are not see thru like before I get home and open my meal which was fish and chips . The fish was ok not great and I was given exactly four steak fries called and spoke to manager to voice my disappointment was told that's the norm and hung up . Early bird dinner is a great deal! If you are willing to eat a bit early (before 6pm) you get two meals and a bottle of wine for $35. And the meals are very good (not spectacular, but good food). I had braised beef gnocchi, which was good, but the flavor combination didn't quite hit it for me. My wife had a more standard, grouper, which was delicious. And they don't skimp on serving sizes because it's early, we had plenty to take home (even our leftover wine, which was also quite good for a house table wine.) read more

South Fork Grill is located in a large outdoor shopping mall, but once you enter the restaurant you would never know. I've dined here several times, both for lunch and dinner, and have never been disappointed. This time we decided to try the restaurant week menu, and chose the corn chowder, grilled salmon, and flourless chocolate cake. The corn chowder was not heavily laden with cream like many chowders and had a good corn flavor. However it was on the salty side so I didn't finish it. The salmon was a good quality piece of fish and was perfectly cooked (not overdone), however it was SO salty that we both send our meal back. We asked to have it remade with no salt, and the second time around it was much better. The server and the manager both came back to check if we were satisfied which was appreciated. I'm hoping this was just a one time fluke, and given my previous good experiences I will return again. I highly recommend the vegetarian capellini which I've had several times in the past. Since the restaurant is in a mall there is plenty of parking available. There is no valet parking. read more

Located in the Coconut Point Mall, this was a nice small restaurant with selections of food for the kids (kid's menu was spoken, rather than written), and the adults grabbed a reasonably priced bottle of wine inside (there's outdoor seating, too). - Grouper grilled sandwich is very tasty, with a touch of tartar sauce, lettuce and tomato, it was quite tasty. - Mediterranean Capellini was a lighter angel-hair pasta was tomatoes, capers, and in a cream sauce; tasty and a little salty, but butter flavor came through; side of sweet potato fries. - Kid's meal was fried chicken strips (thin and small, but a nice take with less batter), along with fries on the side (shoestring - tasty). Overall good service and a nice place to pop into for a lunch. Recommend calling ahead with reservations given how busy it gets, though. read more

Four of us went out for an early lunch. At the time the restaurant was not busy. 3 of us ordered grouper sandwiches with fries. All three of us got cold fries and cold grouper. The waitress was aloof regarding the poor quality. She ordered more fries and took off one meal, but honestly what irritates me, when I don't get hot fresh food when ordered, I hate having to wait for the food the way it should have been brought to the table originally. We were so disappointed. It's one thing to have high priced lunches and another to serve poor quality. The chef in the kitchen was bad putting cold fries and grouper on the dish. read more

We made a reservation at South Fork and asked for a table outside when we arrived. Even though there were numerous tables available outside we were told we had to take the table in the back room. All of the tables in the restaurant were draped with table clothes except our's and two others in the back room. We asked if we could have table linens and were told we were in the room that was going to be renovated in June so no table clothes now --- in Feb. The waiter arrived and told us the bread was made fresh every day, but there was little left. He tossed a basket with three tiny pieces on the table. Water glasses were filled and then the water pitcher was left on the floor next to our seats. When the final bill arrived an extra 20% was added, but the waiter made no mention of this. Ok so I am not great about checking in when at a restaurant,. I have been to this place about 12 times and always have enjoyed the food and service. That was before this last trip. I ordered Salmon with a Pesto Sauce on top. When the Salmon came out it was Raw under that gigantic pile of Pesto. I finally got the Waitresses attention and sent if back. to my surprise it came back in less than 5 mins, with all the old left over Pesto Sauce piled back on top of the raw salmon. Yes this means that the next round was still raw inside. I can only guess that they have no idea what a thermometer is or that maybe they dont even have one. They sent the old grilled veggies back as well, but by now they were so only that it looked like a pile of grease on my plate. I had ordered Brussels sprouts and they were burnt on one side and hard as a rock on the other. They had been so over cooked that some of the leave where actually dehydrated. After my second mishap I decided not to bother eating anything and waited for my friends to finish. Our waitress informed me that she took the price of the Salmon off of my bill... REALLY... are you kidding me.! Of course I am not paying for food I could not eat. I did ask the waitress to have the Manager come out to see me, but 10 mins later no one bothered to show up. I was staying at the Hyatt Place and since this spot is walking distance it seemed like the best option for dinner! I thought the interior was nice, and had a good vibe for a date night out. Our server was friendly and prompt. What more can you ask for? I went with small plates for dinner and was happy with that choice. I can't remember the name of my salad but it had mozzarella, tomatoes, and bacon. For my other small plate I got pork belly over a corn salad. Both dishes were satisfying and I would get them again. This place isn't cheap but there are definetely options on the menu to make it more affordable. Especially the early dinner for two $30 deal! read more
