I've eaten here a few times, and it never disappoints. The prices are reasonable for casual dining in the area. On a Tuesday afternoon, there was no line, and the place wasn't crowded, even though it's located in a food court at the mall. They prepare your order fresh, so it does take a bit of time, but it's absolutely worth the wait. I've had the Beef Pho twice now, and it's better than some other Pho spots I've tried in nearby malls--I would definitely order it again. The garlic beef was outstanding, and the coconut chicken is a dish I'll absolutely be repeating soon. One thing I absolutely loved is that their jalapeños are actually spicy--the kind that will make you cry! Forks, Washington has SUPER limited food options and it seemed like EVERYONE was ordering take out. Yes, I can't believe that I waited 45 minutes for take out; possibly the longest wait ever for Chinese food. There's another Chinese restaurant nearby, but I picked this one because of the slightly better Yelp reviews. Anyway, my date and I got beef with green beans and mu shu pork. The beef with green beans were decent, at least the beef was tender. The mu shu pork was okay, but the wrappers were very dry. Since this place was "take out" only, it would have been nice if they had offered some paper plates. It was messy to try to make our mu shu style burritos in the hotel room. read more

I'm a bit late on my review my apologies, but I came across this place while on a short vacation in forks on June 1st. From the outside it would be easy to miss. Once you go in its pretty decent size place. Very friendly staff and very accommodating and always willing to make sure the customers are satisfied. Food wise it was very authentic and very on point with quality and taste. Plus, not mention very on point with presentation. To be quite honest, everything was a carbon copy of my absolute favorite Chinese restaurant that closed down many years ago in Everett Washington known as North Gardens. Worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. Food was so disgusting my daughter only ate the wonton soup which she said was mediocre at best. For 64.00 the food should be way better then this for 3 combo meals. Waited for ever for a server to co.e to our table and again longer to take order. Soups came out after the food and was even minus 1 had to wait on that. Fried almond chicken has a gravy on it very weird. Hard to chew because it's like rubber or extremely over cooked. Fried rice is very bland and gross and the same with chow main. Only stooped in becauae daughter would not eat mexican which would have been way better she even agreed​​. I ordered the beef and broccoli (with steamed rice) and a cup of egg drop soup. Service was very quick and I have no complaints, but consider that I ordered take out. The lady on the phone told me 15 minutes and it's ready. When I arrived, it was ready. The beef and broccoli was very tasty and it lasted me for dinner and lunch the next day; so, good portion sizes. We are visiting from Houston, Tx and took a road trip to Forks. What a cute town! We had dinner here last night and so glad we did!!! Warmly greeted by Crecencio and Rosielly, both were so nice! We sat down at a booth. We were the only customers eating in there. It was rainy, and they seemed to have a lot of to go traffic. Both acted as our servers, Rosielly bringing a pot of hot tea for us when we first sat down. I ordered the dinner special D, with General Tsao chicken, chicken fried rice, Mongolian chicken, chicken chow mein, and hot and sour soup. This place is pretty easy to miss if you are driving by, but my mom and I had an overall pleasant experience here. The food took about 35 minutes to come out. The wonton soup and the egg flower soup were incredible!! Pork dumplings were also rly good. I wouldn't recommend the pork rice or fried prawns tho (both were very under seasoned). Didn't have much of expectation when we walked it but were pleasantly surprised at the amount of people in the restaurant on a Wednesday evening. Seems like they only have one waitress / hostess. I was passing through Forks at the end of a 10 day road trip across the western United States, and as you might expect, I was craving some good ol' hot Chinese food. The receptionist at the motel we were staying at called South North Gardens the "preferred" Chinese restaurant in Forks, so we decided to give it a shot. Here's the breakdown. If I were to base this review on taste of food alone, this would probably be one star. The sweet and sour pork sauce was an alarming shade of neon pink, the gravy on the almond chicken was thick and tasteless, and the fried rice had clumps of tough, chewy rice. The green beans were decent, as was the chicken chow mein. The reason why this place gets an extra star is because of the service - the waitresses were very genuine and kind in their language, and they were gracious enough to apologize profusely whenever a dish took a longer time than usual to come out. Additionally, the portion sizes were so large - there were five of us, and we had to get three full takeout boxes by the time we were done. Honestly, I'm not able to recommend South North Gardens to you. In a pinch, it'll do, but if you're on the lookout for good Chinese food, keep looking. read more

After days of traveling in national parks from Canada (Banff, Jasper, Yoho, glacier park etc) to Olympic national park, I had enough of cold sandwiches and instant noodles. We got into town kinda late and were staying at a place in Forks - the receptionist said she liked this one much better than the other Asian food option in town. We arrived about 15 minutes before closing time and were asked to get the meal to go - which was really no problem at all. I'm pretty sure it was the owner who promptly made up our meals and rang us up and then out the door we went. I must admit, my expectations weren't too high, considering the size and remoteness of Forks, but this meal was a pleasant surprise! It was a TON of food - my husband and I could have easily shared one meal and each been stuffed. As it was, we had leftovers for the next day. The first time I ate here the soup tasted like dishwater......not that I had dishwater before. I gave them a second chance and my mongolian beef container was half full. It did not have the rice noodles that you typically receive and it appeared that it was leftovers. We were looking for Chinese food and forks Washington which has two options which was 100% more than what I thought we might have. We came here because they had better reviews than the other Chinese restaurant in town however I must say I was apprehensive after I saw the picture here on Yelp that somebody took of a giant sink full of chicken thawing it in water next to a sink full of dishes. that made me decide I was definitely not getting any meat in my entrée since I usually get chicken if anything at all. My wife got the Mongolian beef and I got the next vegetable stirfry and we took takeout instead of eating in the store. We had already planned to get takeout but once we were in the store it had a kind of a funny smell I miss obvious the building was really old however the people that work there seemed very nice. If you're looking for Chinese food and forks I think this is well probably her only option for your best one and we enjoyed our food when we got home and ate it and I both entrées had a good taste and seemed fresh as far as the vegetables and the meat. Plus, you get a lot of food (if you order the individual dinners, which my boyfriend and I did). Split dinners that included hot and sour soup (and boy, it was hot/spicy), BBQ pork (sliced), fried prawns, chicken chow mein, mongolian chicken, and sweet and sour pork. It was generous. Hot tea was served with the meal...and I think it was English breakfast, if I am not mistaken. Definitely wasn't jasmine or green. Was it the best Chinese food I've had? No. But, it was a LOT better than I anticipated for being in Forks. Lots of people seem to get take out. And obviously, it's mostly locals coming through here. The rice had a smoke, weird taste to it so I could not take more than one bite. The noodles tasted okay only drenched in sweet and sour sauce.
