    Fried Green Tomatoes
    Loco Q.

Not what we were expecting tonight. It's decent but not an establishment where we will dine in anymore. 1. The service is slow. Don't know if they're understaffed or what but it took a long time for a waiter to come to the table. 2. The atmosphere is ok. It's not fancy, very comfortable. You can probably come as you are. They have a wine display of basic wines with blue LED lights it, so you can kind of gather what I'm saying. It almost gives off Chinese or Italian restaurant vibes. 3. The food. We ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes for starters then Catfish Opelousas and the Combo platter with the catfish, fried shrimp, fried chicken wings, red beans and rice and onion rings. The fried green tomatoes were garbage. The Catfish Opelousas we gave a 5 out of 10 because they didn't have any dirty rice to go with it and the crawfish cream sauce wasn't all that. It was too tangy for some reason. On the Combo Platter the chicken wings had no flavor, but the fish and shrimp on both dishes had good flavor. The red beans and rice were tasty and the onion rings were seasoned well. Overall if we did order again, it would be for fried fish and shrimp with maybe some red beans and rice. The lady who seems like she's the owner was very nice and friendly.

Ambiance was very nice. Service was slow. Do not go on your lunch break, I was late getting back to work. One plate at a time came out the kitchen and by the time the next plate came the original person at finished their food. Food was okay. Pricing is $$. For four ppl total I paid $70 out the door.

Great friendly service, nice interior and good looking food items. I ordered the turkey leg stuffed with dirty rice and side of cabbage and fried okra. $25. The turkey key was salty but the rice helped it. There's small pieces of bone in the rice so watch out for that. The Turkey leg was tender and juicy. The cabbage was just right and the fried okra was crunchy and good. Daughter liked her chicken and waffles. The kids version has fries and uses chicken tenders. My husband had wings with waffles and 2 sides (red beans & rice -- you can see the whole beans vs the crushed version and also a side of cabbage). They do sell alcohol but we stuck with sweet tea. Overall I can't wait I come back and try more stuff

Evidently, this place has been open since Feb 2022. I wish we would have known about it b4. You can smell the seasoning in the parking got before you walk in. Already a good sign!! Menu has great variety. Service is nice and friendly. Food tastes fresh and has good flavor. Definitely recommend if you are looking for some 'down home' meals with wonderful customer service. Nice esthetic, playing old school jazz from 50's or so. We will be back for sure to check out the brunch!

This is a very overpriced underwhelming experience. Wait staff was super friendly and helpful. Kaylin was great!!!!

Decided at lunch to give it a try! It was a cold dreary day! Went in, totally different decor than I expected! Really nice! Young very polite waiter! We asked ideas and ordered! They brought out some odd looking hush puppies with spicy German Mustard! Tried one and it was OK, then the more you ate the more you liked them! We ordered another order! The first was free. Unfortunately I saw too much I wanted to try!! Ordered the fried cauliflower which had a sweet sour sauce! Lord it was fantastic! Almost forgot Boudin balls, They we're good. The gumbo seemed a good bet and only ordered a cup. What they brought out was a decent size square bowl! It was so good I regretted not getting a bowl! I then ordered the smothered pork chop and Cajuns corn, fried okra, dirty rice and red beans and rice. Also ice tea for a drink, it was home brewed! Very good! The corn is excellent! The dirty rice and red beans and rice were IK, but still good! The pork chop was fried to perfection. The gravy was good, but I wish it had more! I loved it! The chef came out and talked to us, really nice guy, and as I said, the waiter was great! We will be back!

The restaurant dark and mood set for couples dining. The menu offered a variety of options, making it easy to find something mouthwatering to order. The price of the entrees and add ons are over priced. Staff were under staffed leaving it up to two very young inexperienced lady's to take care of the entire dining room with seating, ordering, serving, take out, and check out. While dining I observed 5 tables, 1 of which had a party of 11 and another tabled having a party of 7 leaving the remaining tables 3 or less. This was a disaster to watch as they nervously tried to tend to all the guest. The wait was long alot of things were forgotten. But hey let's do this- Appetizer: Fried green tomatoes, Entree: Smothered fried chicken with two chosen sides of the candied yams and the collard greens. --smothered fried chicken: seemed like old chicken but because they could add gravy on top this was suitable to serve to the customers. You could tell the chicken was not fried fresh although covered in luke warm gravy this did not hide the fact that the fried chicken skin was not crispy however chewy. The chicken was super dry in the inside, I actually used the juices from the two sides to try and moisten the chicken to complete my meal. --Candied yams: cooked well, good flavor, and has a hint of lemon --Collard greens: Perfect! --Fried green tomatoes: definitely not worth the price for the portion overall taste lacked flavor

Very generous portions and extremely flavorful! The gumbo roux was great, great crisp on the outside of the catfish, the shrimp in the gumbo, pasta, and stewed okra were large and very succulent! We will definitely be back! The waitress was very sweet and welcoming :-)

Fantastic service! Everyone is very nice. The food was good. The gumbo has a thick roux and I prefer a runnier roux so keep that in mind if you order gumbo. The food was very good and very hot. My fav was the corn bread, not too sweet, just right!

We went for a birthday dinner and happy to find a local place with yummy food. Some of the stand out items were the shrimp and grits, the onion rings, the corn-so flavorful and the greens. We will definitely return.

As I high schooler in the early '80s, I worked for Lane's Trading Corner. It's long gone and is an antique / resale shop now. Anyway, we passed by BR Vino and thought to ourselves. Selves, a glass of wine would be nice as it's hot outside. So in we went. I'm horrible with names, but the co-owner greeted us and gave us a quick tour of the place. And then ordered a glass of wine and relaxed walking around and checking everything out. My wife says, "are you thinking what I'm thinking?" I said yep. I was turning 60 in a 3 months and hadn't settled on a venue for the party and this was the place. We visited with the co-owner and settled on a date and cost. We had a great time. In the next 3ish months, we visited a few times as we like hanging out there. Then the party. My wife and her sister put together a huge charcuterie table as the spread. BR Vino supplied the wines and beers. We supplied the food and soft drinks. The venue is awesome as it has a long main seating/cisiting area with 2 large scene TVs. There is a smaller middle room that has a table for more intimate setting and then out the back door is a nice outdoor seating area that is "fenced" in so the kiddos can't get away. We had about 40 people at the event and all had a great time. The owners were great hosts. Let us do our thing. I would highly recommend BR Vino for a glass of wine or a small get together. Cheers.

Hey y'all !! Back with another review !…read more I decided to visit this winery despite the happy hour mix up . They had a sign posted outside says 5 wine , 5 cheese 5-11pm lol idk but a bunch of us thought that meant $5 wine and cheeses .. but it was $45. I love wine so I don't mind indulging in luxury . Now the popcorn was 10/10 the Parmesan with the chili powder is a hit $9 .. you get enough to share with 2/3 ppl . The wine we got was very tasty . I loved it tbh. Now , here something I felt was very wrong. I'm not a business major but I owned a business and I guess this depends on morals . This wine in the store is $6 .. we were charged $48 .. I get making your money . I would've been okay with it being $20-25 but almost $50 which it was with tax is wild . That's 700% over its value. It was also described as very high end lol " Italian "... I've visited really expensive winery's like Stella wine bar and vineyards and the prices were not even close to these. I live in the commmunity and I'm honestly shocked but I'm not from Texas . This wouldn't fly back home . I did ask and he said he couldn't discuss because he wasn't the owner , understood Overall , place is beautiful ... very comfy . I would love to visit again maybe during happy hour to taste plenty more . Please do go though if you don't mind upscale of prices 10/10 for experience and ambiance 7/10 wine Prices 5/10 ( due to over priced vs market price)

The parking lot was pretty full when I arrived but I was fortunate to find a spot near the front and although the lot was full there seemed to be enough parking. They have a nice patio with a decent amount of seating on the side of the building and a small area in the front as well. The inside is a jazzy and lively but cozy vibe with walls adorned with beautiful jazz aesthetic artwork. My food came out hot and fresh. My cheeseburger was delicious. It was juicy, not at all greasy and cooked perfectly at medium well. I didn't request a particular meat temperature but this seemingly standard way they cooked it was right on target. My fries were crispy and delicious as well. In hindsight I shouldve requested a side of ranch to dip them in instead of the standard ketchup. That would've been more ideal for me and would've also tasted amazing with my burger. They give you a ton of fries and you will likely need extra ketchup or whatever dipping sauce for it btw and make sure to ask for it when you order your food to ensure you get it before u finish your meal. The drinks are strong but still tasty. They're also generously poured. Ok so a few minor negatives to point out. Service was a bit slow. I probably sat for 30 minutes or so before a waitress took my order. I arrived after my cousins and fortunately they had a beautiful charcuterie board that I could nibble on. Also, they brought my rum punch as I was finishing my meal. All of the staff was super kind and pleasant however so zero complaints other than the speed of the service. I think they could've used a couple more servers to ensure they could visit the tables more quickly and frequently. Another thing, it was a little loud and kinda difficult to talk across the table but it is a bar, a jazzy upbeat sophisticated bar with a 35-50ish aged crowd so come here for the food, drinks, maturity and great music not to have a deep conversation or at least not on a Friday night. I'll definitely be back for steak night if they still have it. I'm sure that'll give me an opportunity to give this place another star.
