Very strong 5 star review for Southern Turf Co. I have a fairly small backyard, about 350 sq ft. I had zeroscaped the area a few years ago but stubborn Texas weeds took over and had my yard looking like the jungle - which isn't ideal when you have a dog. Susan at Southern Turf came out for an estimate very soon after I requested a quote, brought a ton of turf samples for me to choose from, and had a lot of good ideas and guidance for me on the process, etc. We scheduled my work for a few weeks after that when her crew was free, and even after a few rain delays Susan kept in touch and we found a good day to get the work done. I'm honestly a little shocked by how great the quality is - not just of the turf but of the foundation they build up beneath it. My yard finally feels cohesive and the turf is comfortable to walk on and feels 100% solid beneath my feet. My dog finally has his space back. Can't recommend them enough! read more

I'm a stubborn woman from the northeast and steadfastly refused to install artificial turf. After trying for 6 years to get a lush lawn to grow, including putting down sod three times with 2 different types of grass plus an irrigation system, I gave up. We really enjoyed our experience with Southern Turf. About two months ago, we asked them for a quote, and Chrissy was at the house in a day or so to do measurements for our dog run. Her estimate came in line or lower than the 4 other quotes we requested. We chose Southern because 1. Our neighbor used them and liked her experience, said they were the "best in town." 2. Chrissy was consistent, professional, and "checked all the boxes." 3. We desperately needed a solid solution. You should get turf for many reasons, but here are the ones we did: 1. We can not grow grass and keep it watered correctly in the Austin heat. 2. All we end up with is dirt, so we can not use our back yard, which is our dog run. 3. Our house was perpetually filthy because the dog kept tracking in dirt. 4. The back yard smelled of dog waste because we had impacted dirt with no drainage. 5. It was not cost effective solution to plant and maintain grass. What we found during the experience: 1. Quotes were clear and competitive. 2. Chrissy was super professional. 3. The crew was on time and finished early. 4. The project was clean and efficient. Even when we reached out to tell them that they left a rake behind, they told us to keep it as a gift! Aaron and his team were very easy to work with. Throughout the whole process, Aaron was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and transparent. He worked with our schedule and came out at a time that was convenient for us to go over the different options they provided and to show samples. He was upfront about the cost of material and labor, and did a great job explaining all the different products. He made our decision to install turf very easy and within the same day, he got a quote sent over to us. We decided to modify the original layout to include a paver walkway and rock surrounding. Aaron was quick to accommodate our customization and revised the quote right away to reflect the changes. Once we reviewed the quote, we paid our deposit through one of the many payment options they offer. Within the same week, Aaron got us scheduled for the installation, booking us two weeks out. From consultation to installation, the entire project was completed just under 3 weeks. On installation day, the team showed up as scheduled and began looking over the yard for sprinkler heads and any other concerns we had. Work began right away and they worked tirelessly to complete our project the same day. We couldn't be happier with our turf and pavers. Our dogs love it and it's so easy to keep clean. I was worried that our dogs' nails would tear up the turf but after a brutal play session the first day, I can say with confidence that the turf will hold up to the dogs running around and cutting back and forth. I cannot recommend Southern Turf enough! We reached out to them at the end of our pool build and were blown away by their professionalism, knowledge, precision, and now after the fact, incredible work. We had over 4,000 sf not including our patio/pool so it was a big and expensive job. They were not our cheapest quote but they were the most knowledgeable, professional, and experienced. Adam discovered things like draining and gutter work that needed to be done that other companies missed. He also guaranteed a 180 day check after install since our pool is new and things *may* settled after the first swim season. The install crew was prompt and worked meticulously for 4 days to complete this big and complex job. Seeing what prep work goes into the final product makes you realize why it is a costly project, yet so worth it. Now we are basking in our beautiful backyard that feels like an extension of our home.
