What a bonus for me and my family as we just purchased a vacation home in the same community of this lagoon! Located in Wimauma,Florida this metro lagoon is a perk for the residents whom live here but can also be accessed by the general public. My daughter and I visited a few years ago and after visiting the metro lagoon in Wesley Chappell , we like this much more. Today we rode our golf cart over to lagoon and enjoyed swimming, kayaking and the obstacle course . We ordered wings and fries and Kona ice from the food trucks and I opened a tab and the bar. the bar tender assisted me with putting the app on my phone as residents get 20% off the services. Please note for entrance : there is a bag check and no Stanley's, tumblers, outside food or drinks are permitted. You can purchase tickets as a non resident at the ticket counter and purchase extra services to kayak, paddle board and utilize the obstacle course. There is a small children area where the water is barely a 1-2ft deep and a little splash pad area . Plenty of lounge chairs throughout and you can also rent covered umbrellas and cabanas. There are food trucks and a huge bar including a swim up bar , private cabana and pool area but be aware there are no lockers here to place items while you are in the water. Bathrooms are clean as well. I am so excited that we will be able to enjoy the summers and some weekend getaways here now for years to come. I purchased tickets for my family of 5 but the location closed less than hour after my arrival, 47 minutes to be exact. The company refused to refund me my money although I live out of state and have no plans to return to Florida within the next year. The lagoon and property are gorgeous. Clean water clean facilities the private cabanas and all the VIP rental areas are very nice. Both bars and every drink we had was delicious. The one food truck that was open had great burgers and fries and hot dogs. My complaint and the reason for my less than stellar review is because they were severely understaffed. I understand it's a weird time after season and not quite summer but they didn't have enough staff to open the ice cream truck, or run multiple rides. While there is a posted schedule saying that they will alternate obstacle cores with kayaks and the bumper boats, after we waited in line for the bumper boats the attendant only ran four people and then said, "I only have four working boats so I'm just going to shut this down". Unfortunately the group of five kids I was with was next and they were still 15 plus people after us. Literally the only complaint is the staffing. The cotton candy machine was down, the ice cream truck never opened, and the attraction rotation didn't follow the schedule and that's the reason why it's only a two out of five star for me. I tried a Groupon for this Southshore Bay Lagoon experience - and it was decent/average. There's a ton to do for kids here - a big splash pad/mini pool area and an obstacle course where you are required to wear a life vest, and you can jump off these big inflatable obstacles. There is a swim up bar for adults - but it sadly was not open during our time here, and they didn't really give us any notice of it being closed (nobody had a sign saying this or came down to tell any of us). There is a fast food truck outside the pool and a bar upstairs (expensive drinks but to be expected). The adult pool area in the lagoon is a smaller size as the obstacle course takes up a majority of the pool. Overall, if you have a Groupon and are in the area, I think it's worth a visit, but if you're not in the area, I wouldn't travel really far for it. read more

Do NOT recommend this lagoon. During a single visit of less than five hours (due to weather) both my professionally colored blonde hair and BOTH of my children's swimsuits were stained green. The swimsuits were not salvageable despite numerous recommended attempts to remove the stains. When I contacted customer service, I was told the issue was not caused by the water but rather by how my hair products and our swimsuits "reacted" with it. My family has visited countless pools, water parks, and beaches over the years without ever experiencing anything like this. They also referenced their "BlueSky Guarantee" as if it were a resolution, but we already qualified for return tickets simply because our visit was cut short by the weather. No effort was made to address the damage to my hair or our belongings. I wasn't looking for reimbursement or compensation--I simply hoped they would acknowledge that something during our visit likely contributed to the damage. Instead, the response suggested the issue was with my hair products and our swimsuits rather than considering that something in the lagoon may have caused the reaction. Based on both our experience and the way it was handled, we will not be returning. (For those wondering, the rest of us had dark colored swimsuits on so I can only suspect that is why ours did not appear discolored.) read more

I really wanted to like this place as I think it is needed for a place for kids and families to enjoy. But with a lack of adults to run the facilities it is not a place I would return until significant change is made. The lack of any concern by the employees was amazing. Most were congregated together on their phones while we tried to do things like buy a shirt, buy food, and god forbid first aid. Three of the venues they advertise for food was not even open for the entire day, but still get charged full price. My grandson cuts his toe, was bleeding so went to the main area for something to stop the bleeding and a bandaid. They said we "don't have anything, try the bar" So we went to the bar, nope we don't have anything either. So he gave me bar napkins as first aid. This is a concern as if it had been anything worse than a small cut, I have no idea how they would rectify it. Twenty five minutes for a hot dog and a bag of chips when we were the only customer for that entire 25 minutes.. I think the lagoon could be an amazing opportunity. But run it like this, it will be closed within three years. They need some adult supervision soon. ALso, they need lockers. It is a large facility and to expect anyone to not be able to lock up credit cards and cash is a big miss. Hope they get their act together as the lagoon itself has the ability to be a hit. This place is the worst. Even residents have to pay for use of an umbrella on a scorching hot day. Dalton the manager kicked my elderly stepfather out--"You have to pay for the shade. I'm also a resident, so I understand." No, Dalton, I don't think you do. My stepdad is a war veteran with mobility issues. There were at least 40 empty seats with umbrellas. To treat residents who pay $500 a year for use of the lagoon like this is absolutely not acceptable. Looking to MOVE OUT of this horrendous community ASAP. read more

Went here to look at homes by the lagoon and spent the day. Basically a really big swimming pool with some really cool amenities like swim up bar. You can rent kayaks and paddle boards as long as it's not too windy. We spent most of our time there. Drinks were cold and bartenders were awesome. If you live in the community you pay $35 a month for your entire house to go here. It is $35 or 45 per person if you don't. Food trucks were ok. The hamburger I had was hammered though. So over cooked. We were told it depends on the cook. Overall it was ok. Not entirely sold on it as a selling point for the community but that was just us. read more

Where to begin... ok so the online portal wasn't working and I showed the employee. They still taxed me for a walk up. No free shade by the pool. If you want to be near the pool under an umbrella you have to pay. Otherwise you are far from the pool. While in the pool witnessed a young child about 12 years old calling some girls f and bs and threatening to punch them . Unreal. Lastly, a different group of young kids , no older than 16, sat next to my family and were smoking pot. I'm not a square but if my kids are around I rather not have that around me. Then they started talking about their gun so we decided to leave. There is one security guard on site who never once came by my area. By the time we walked to the front to notify them , the kids were gone. $150 for entrance for 2 adults and 2 children with 2 splash passes. My husband had one double tequila for $35. All in all of you have the money to burn I would suggest going during the week. Too much riff raff on the weekends. read more

Been here 4 or 5 times and i won't return. Spent about 130$ for one day there I could go to an actual water park for that amount. They nickle and dime every cent out of you. You have to pay for an umbrella or you get no shade. For a little tiki hut umbrella by the water it was 70$. Couldn't bring snack for my children and all the offered was processed sh*t. There were sketchy people there dropping f bombs right next to my three year old. The sand was dirty with trash and old straws. Won't be taking my children back there. read more

This was a pretty nice place to hang out at. We rented a clamshell by the lagoon. It was a little weird that kids were sitting at the bar. I thought the lagoon area would be a little more for adults. The lagoon was pretty much a really long swimming pool. I think the deepest part you can actually swim in was maybe about 6ft deep. The other half of the pool was reserved for the kayaks and paddle boards. There was a big obstacle course that looked pretty cool but we didn't try it. I think it costs extra as well as kayaking and paddle boarding. Overall it was a nice place to spend the day. read more

Lost my Apple Watch in their lagoon near the inflatables and they would not let me retrieve it myself nor would they send a lifeguard "with experience" to get it for me. Shouldn't any lifeguard have the experience to dive 15 feet down and get it if I could? The manager also told me they would get it "if they had time" and I physically watched multiple lifeguards doing nothing during any downtime they had, which was at least every half hour when they cleared the inflatable area. It was something I could've done myself but they said because of liability they would not allow it. They said they have professional divers that come by on a weekly basis and could mail the watch to me but this was days in the future and I told them to watch would be permanently dead by then anyways with the liquid damage. They even said if I attempted to grab it myself then I would be "exited from the property." Wow. They had me fill out a form and promised me it would be sent via the mail but this was March 30 and here we are 25 days later with no watch. Honestly, I almost feel that they owe me money for this, but I'm also fully aware I would never get it along with their other broken promises. I will never recommend this lagoon to anybody, not only because of this reason but also the price is not worth it for what it offers. read more

Honestly probably won't be returning anytime soon. For the cost of the day, you don't really receive what you are spending. Cost close to 100$ just to get in and get 2 reserved chairs with an umbrella. You are not allowed to bring food or drinks in, which I understand...it's a business they are trying to make money. What I have an issue with is the service you receive when trying to order food or drinks. The wait staff at the bar had no urgency, and allowed food to sit at the end of the bar being covered in flies and attacked by seagulls. I also witnessed the bartender take a fry from someone's food and eat it before proceeding to deliver the food to the customer. They also had a fly trap sitting on the bar top that was COVERED in flies. I get it, it's an outdoor bar in the heat of Florida, flies happen, but to have the trap sitting on the bar top for all to see was disgusting. I honestly believe the waitstaff has no urgency or care for your food because they are guaranteed a 22% gratuity at the end of the day. Why would you hustle if you know you get 22% tip regardless of your service. Bummed that this was not a nicer location or day as we were excited to regularly visit. read more

Oh where to begin...First off; my wife and I wanted to buy 2 umbrella chairs to sit in while our teen boys played in the water. The manager insisted that to rent an umbrella we must purchase 4 (one for each person). After explaining that they wouldn't be using the chairs, the manager still insisted, so we were forced to buy 4 chairs ($55) if we wanted any shade...keep in mind there is no shade unless you buy an umbrella chair!! Second; my son asked one of the staff if a certain area was open to which the lady rudely responded "You got in here didn't you? Obviously we are open!" F that b***h, but anyway back to the chairs...2 of them went unused the entire day and our 2 boys were bored after a couple hours. This place is a bit of a tourist trap...they treat people like crap and extort your hard earned money with bogus fees and "rules". I use "rules" loosely, since the family of 6 behind us only had to purchase 2 chairs for all 6 of them??? Try this place at your own risk. I typically mind my own business and move about life unbothered, but this place irked me enough to set up a yelp account and leave a bad review as I sit in one of the aforementioned umbrella chairs. My goal of this review is simply to save blue collar workers and their families from the disappointment my family experienced. First off this place is a 10/10 for the kids. They had a BLAST! I never heard of this spot prior to my wife bringing it up about a week ago. Think of a community pool but on steroids lol. You have to pay $12 extra for the water jump thing. Now keep in mind that's for 40 mins. We thought it was for the whole day but no problem. Now the only thing that was a problem was the "Lagoon grill" we got a few "burgers" from them which came out like a hockey puck. One of our buddies went to go have theirs redone, and out comes a way undercooked burger. The fries were ok but I def don't recommend ordering the burger here.....ever! read more

We had a great time here. The obstacle course was so fun. Everyone was laughing and helping each other as we slipped and fell. Jumping off was sooo fun. Facilities all seemed clean and well maintained. Water felt a little cold at first but you get used to it once you're in for a bit. Smoking section is gross cuz the wind just pushed smoke everywhere. It was too windy to do kayaking or paddle boarding so I wish we could've done that too. Very family friendly. read more

Never again! Paid for VIP and nobody was working the entrance so we just picked whatever we wanted, and so did everybody else. Tried to order food and they he was told to put a hold on orders because they were backed up, and it was recommended to go to the food truck. I go to the food truck and the young girl tells me they are pausing orders because they are backed up. So I'm expected to stand in the sun just to wait to place an order? It wasn't even busy. You aren't allowed to bring food in, but they aren't providing an adequate food service for people with kids. I haven't even mentioned the pool floor damage and mildew on the pool edge in the VIP. Absolutely horrific!! We pay for security, a lagoon, water fountains and we absolutely do not get it!! The gates are wide opened about 95% of the year!! The lagoon has not been opened full time for quite some time now! And the board of elections keeps on increasing prices here! CDD fees takes up the majority of our taxes! Every time we write a letter to them the messages comes back the same! There are many homes here going up to sale! Section eight might be coming in! Every year we still have to pay for clickers! The news station should investigate! We have no club house, no gyms, no restaurants or live music! You can't even take food over to the lagoon for little ones with day low blood pressure! Xmas docs costs us about 3k each year! Houses by the mailboxes are going for like half a mil! I would not suggest living here folks! And if it rains there is no cash refunds for the lagoon back to your account! Even when closed for construction we still paid and now the fees have increased! read more

I'm so glad this waterpark popped up on my instagram feed! I was amazed at how pretty it looked online, but even more impressed with it when we got there and it was just as beautiful in person! It's located in a community which we were confused when getting there because it's a bit hidden. I believe if you live in the community you get some sort of discount or free entry. We purchased our tickets online.. weekends $10 and weekdays $20 (that includes unlimited obstacle course, paddle boarding and kayaking) definitely worth it if you are available ! We did the paddle boarding and the obstacle course.. each start at the hour.. we really enjoyed both! For the paddle boarding they only had 3 paddle boards which was perfect for my son, boyfriend and I. It limits the amount of people that are on the water so you have more space to enjoy. You will share it with the people who are kayaking but there will only be 4 kayaks at a time so there will still be lots of space.. the pool is big enough trust me! You will need to use a life jacket if you want to do any of the activities. The water depth is 13-15ft! So really important you follow the rules. The obstacles course was so much fun, we felt like we were in ninja warrior or some survivor show haha.. They have a water slide that goes into the pool, and a water bouncy slide that is also included in the admission. Water/sprinkler area for little kids. Volleyball area.. lots of seating, with umbrella ($5 extra) .. There were two restrooms and an area with shower to rinse off afterwards. They have a private area where they have the cabanas that are extra for large parties or groups.. definitely a nice area if you want something more private. My only CON was that there isn't any lockers to rent, be sure to leave important items in the car, take a water resistant land yard to keep, phone, money, key.. or have someone keep an eye on them. We also brought a refillable water bottle so we didn't have to keep buying water bottles or drinks. Online it said they have various food trucks that rotate, however there was only one that had about 3 items on the menu. We decided to try the chicken and beef tacos ($5 each) they were both really good. We also got the seasoned fries.. not a huge portion and a corona to drink. We really enjoyed ourselves for about 4 hours and definitely felt that it was worth the price. It's a really nice place to enjoy with friends or family. They don't allow inappropriate swimsuits which is nice since it's a family friendly environment. If you would like to exit the park and come back in the same day, make sure to get a stamp, bring your own towels! We will definitely come back soon! read more

This is absolutely the worst run operation I have ever been to. Everything is filthy. No changing area, and the bathrooms are disgusting. They have staff standing around talking to each other, but say they don't have enough staff to open all of the activities. When they are operating an activity the staff is moving at a snails pace, or are strategically posted in places to be wholly inefficient at moving people through. Literally 30 minutes for my little guy to ride the slide one time. Got stopped for a lightning delay, it was over an hour with zero thunder or lightning in sight. Staff just sitting around talking to each other some more. When you ask what's going on, no one knows or has a clear answer. Great concept, but the absolute worst possible execution. read more

The photos of their website are misleading. The swim area is only approx 10 yards out and at its deepest point 4 feet. The rest of the lagoon you see in photos are reserved for kayake and paddle board Area. And you can't swim. You get 1 hour only on the obstacle course. The lines can be long. This is good for children 7 and under... but that's it! read more

I went to this lagoon with a friend to try it out! This is a smaller 5 acre lagoon which sounds weird to say because it's a giant pool but you can see the whole park easily. Parking is free and it's easy to access. We paid ~$80 each because we wanted a clam shell lounger. It was nice but I would opt for just a regular chair and umbrella next time. The reserved clam chairs and cabanas are in a private area with its own bar and wristband. The pool was clean and grounds manicured nicely. The only thing I noticed is that the trash cans fill up and no one was taking them out. I also got $8 cocktails which wasn't bad and the chicken tenders for a snack. read more

Nice waterpark for kids and to cool off. Park has plenty of free parking and no long waiting lines. I only gave 2 stars because the water park was dirty the last two times we visited. Trash was left all over including the water and employees didn't seem to care. However, shame on guests who are too lazy to pick up after themselves. The music was so loud during the entire day that you had to scream and food was left at almost all the tables. The bar was filthy sticky everywhere and the service was terrible. Most of the kayaks had some type of issue, that's if there was one available. We paid for the wristband, but there was not enough equipment so we had to wait for others to return. Would be a very nice place if it was maintained. read more

They overbooked the aqua(floating) cabanas and no one called to notify us, so we drove over an hour to arrive and be told our only option was too book for a different day or pay full price for a regular cabana. Manager was incredibly rude during the interaction even though we were being polite and trying to come up with a solution. The place was over crowded and the food was bad. We ended up paying full price for a regular cabana in the VIP section- just to learn that the vip bar/area closes earlier than the rest of the lagoon. read more

First time here; doing the local staycation thing. Definitely recommend either cabana or umbrella chairs - aquacabana as well. Today there was music on and not overwhelming. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Drinks were looking good and comments from other patrons seems pretty good. Food- we had some limitations on what we were eating so had the hummus plate and a chopped salad with chicken. Hummus was as expected and had a decent amount of pita but could have had a few more veggies but generally pretty tasty. Chopped salad, not so chopped- all the lettuce was in big chunks defeating the purpose of the item. We added chicken which was also not chopped but in large strips - even though all items were served in to go containers the presentation can still be achieved with a little bit of care- especially when you consider that these two items totaled almost $40. It's not going to be a deal breaker and we will come back. There were also food trucks here, (2) but didn't explore those options- next time!!! read more

Here are the pros and cons for this water park.... CONS: * They open the park at 10AM but don't allow the kids to play on the obstacle course until 11AM * They're only allowed on the obstacle course for 1/2 hour and then must leave the course and turn in their life vests until the next top of the hour.... * UNLESS it rains and they make you get out of the water, and then open it back up again and SHOULD open the course back up at the top of the hour but they change the rules to make everyone wait until the bottom of the hour. When asked why the children had to wait an extra 1/2 hour to get back on the obstacle course, the 3 employees standing there talking to each other said "we're short staffed". They were literally doing nothing at that point. We paid a LOT of money to get the 7 of us into that park only to be allowed to play on the "major draw", for an hour during the day. * Umbrellas that are purchased in advance ($29.75 to rent) because we were told over the phone they can be moved to where we needed to be to keep a close eye on our grandchildren (the sand island), only to discover that they can NOT be moved closer to the sand near the obstacle course AND we were not going to be issued a refund. So we spent $29.75 and got nothing for it. * The pool may be 5 acres but you're only allowed to swim in a sliver of it and that sliver is far too shallow to enjoy. Waist deep for adults. The obstacle course is supposedly 15' deep but you're not allowed to just swim, you must wear a life vest to enter that section of the pool. And the rest of the 5 acres is for paddle boards, kayaks and residents only. * The slide into the pool was fun but far too shallow. All adults in our party hit the concrete upon entry. I tried to lie down and slide down, but hit the concrete anyway. It would be nice if they would either move the slide to a deeper area, or attach a pad to the bottom of the pool at the slide's exit. I can foresee major back issue complaints in their future. * We paid the Groupon price ($29.77) for the all day and obstacle course / kayaks, paddle boards, pass. But it's $35 on their website for a weekday. More for weekends. So thankful we didn't pay $35/ea. It wasn't worth $29.77. * The website tells us we can NOT bring food into the park because they have numerous places to buy food (including food trucks) and list the food we can purchase. Only to discover there was only one food truck available to buy food AND the food that was on the website was not available. Specifically, the ONE food item that MOST children want, chicken strips...... not available. So you cant bring food in, but they're not going to provide the food for purchase that they said they would have on hand. And we were 1st in line but the 1 person in the only food truck did the best he could but it took 1/2 hour to get our food (for 7) as the line grew longer. I got the kids Hamburger meal w/fries and the bun was really good, albeit twice the size of the burger inside. Neither did they have the ice cream that was offered for sale on the website. That truck was closed as well. * The FAQs state that since this is a family-friendly park, no thongs (T-Backs) which would include bathing suit bottoms that are completely inserted into the crack of the butt (as staffer on the kayaks did), leaving the entire buttocks exposed for children to see (gawk at)...... would not be enforced because "the security wouldn't feel comfortable doing that". WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN - YOUR COMFORT IS NOT NEARLY AS IMPORTANT AS THE CHILDREN BEGIN EXPOSED TO NUDITY. * It was definitely NOT even CLOSE to worth the money we paid to get in. PROS: Management was as friendly as they could possibly be under the (Our Website does not represent this park) circumstances. read more
