All I basically did was give them my checked luggage and my passport (I filled out all my info online) and they gave me my boarding passes in less than 10 minutes. They only had 8 of us in Zone 1 since there are only 8 seats on Premium/ Business Class and we had our own dedicated purser to cater, Ana to all our needs. Bottled water was waiting on our table. The seats were comfortable and spacious, lots of overhead compartment space, USB port and electrical outlet at every seat, lots of legroom, and our in-flight meal was included with our ticket. They don't have menus onboard. They don't even have them posted on the app or their website. Breakfast was served: vegetarian or non-vegetarian. And any drink you want: coffee, tea, soda, juice, and alcohol. I had scrambled eggs with bacon, sausage, and mushrooms. It came with a cup of Chobani vanilla Greek yogurt, blueberry muffin, and a chia pudding. It was a good breakfast...and this is coming from someone who hates airplane food. Our flight left 10 minutes early and we got to our destination 20 minutes early. And I love that! The downside: no TV. It was a 2.5hour flight so, it didn't really bother me. WORST airline I have EVER had the misfortune of flying. Where to begin? I had a round trip (two flight) with them from Vegas to Calgary and return. On the departure, the aircraft pulled to a maintenance area and shut down. No Announcements! After 3/4 hour delay cap comes on and says it was a technical issue. OK we are off, at least we got to Canada. Return trip, ANOTHER 1 hour delay. BROKEN SEAT!!!!!! NO announcements! I go to the counter to find this out. I say TALK TO THE PEOPLE! Agent tells me she cant word it properly. What kind of excuse is that? BOTH aircraft are 737-800s, around 10 years old and in DEPLORABLE condition. This airline doesn't even deserve a star. Luggage was lost on an international flight to Spain from Arizona for four passengers. The luggage was delivered 4 days into a 10 day vacation. The WestJet customer service agent told us we would receive $250 per person for our troubles, total of $1000/USD. What they didn't communicate is that we had to have itemized receipts for each and every expense. There was no recompense for the four days of lost of a family vacation. Don't fly WestJet. If there are any issues with the flight, WestJet customer service will not provide any compensation for frustration, loss of time, or damages to the customer. read more

FCO - YYC and YYC - LAS. First leg - absolutely the best flight crew! Attentive, helpful, smooth flight & landing. No check-in problems related to them at FCO. Transfer at YYC was as smooth as can be expected. YYC-LAS, the flight was delayed, the capitan explained clearly why this was (backlog in LAS) Both flights - clean interior, nothing broken or unusable. The big problem I found was with their website (very NON-intuitive) and attempting to arrange special diet meals (or at least some accommodation). Attempting to call their customer service was a nightmare - tried several times and never connected as the hold times were so bad. Ended up doing what I normally do and buying my meals in airport and carrying them onboard with me. 5-stars for the in-flight personnel - 0 stars for customer service. read more

'm feeling sad and frustrated. I returned from my fabulous trip to Spain, Portugal and France after a long plane ride on Air France from Bordeaux, through Paris and then on WesJjet (a Canadian Airline) to Calgary and then on to Portland with my dearest friend Shelly G. When we arrived at the Portland Airport, one of my bags was not there. I tried to find someone from WestJet to talk to, but there was literally NO One at baggage claim who even worked for that airline. No one even knew if there was anyone at PDX who worked for WestJet. But it was late, and I needed to get some sleep before heading back to Vegas the next day. At the hotel, I tried to call WestJet to see if I could report my lost luggage, but they were closed. The recording said they opened at 5 AM Mountain time. At 4 AM Pacific Time, 6/12/24 I called WestJet and reported my lost bag. I informed the woman that I was leaving Portland that morning and going to Las Vegas, and to please inform the folks at WestJet to forward my luggage to Las Vegas when they found it. She said she put it in the system. I was also told I could check online for the status of my bag. I proceeded to my flight to Las Vegas. The next day I checked the website to see a notation that my luggage was located and would be sent to my "delivery airport." I assumed that meant Las Vegas. The next day I checked the website and it showed that my luggage was being sent from Calgary to Portland. I immediately called the number for lost bags and was told that, "well, maybe Calgary might still have the bag since Portland had not put in the system that they had actually received the bag." The next day, I checked the website again, and it still said my bag was going to Portland. I called WestJet again. The person on the phone said they would put a message in the system to both Calgary and Portland to please forward my luggage to Las Vegas. It has now been FIVE days since I lost my luggage to WestJet. I called again today, and the woman I spoke to said that it looked like it went to Portland. I asked if she could actually CALL someone to confirm that it is there and if anyone was getting these messages that they claim they are sending. At that point, she started stuttering and trying to explain that there really aren't very many people in Portland to call or accept messages. Well, I knew that, since I couldn't find a single person who claimed to work for WestJet when I was at the Portland Airport. So, I asked how was I ever going to get my bag from Portland if there is no one there to read their messages and no one to answer the phone if someone called. She couldn't really answer that. She just said she would send another message. I also informed her that I reported my missing bag on Tuesday to send my bag to Las Vegas. It was now Sunday. She said that the only information she had was that they sent my luggage to Portland only two days ago. That was either a lie, or she doesn't know how to read her system. Question: Is it really legal to have an airline with planes actually coming into an airport with NO staff to offer customer service to anyone who uses their airline? I do not know if there is a way for WestJet to actually get my luggage to me since they have no staff in Portland. I am beyond frustrated, angry and I have no one to turn to regarding this situation. If anyone knows a way to contact WestJet in Portland so they can send my luggage to me in Vegas, I would appreciate it. Oh, I also know, there are NO WestJet flights from Portland to Vegas. They will either have to send my bag back to Calgary and then send it to Las Vegas, or they MIGHT be able to send it to Victoria (I was told) in order to send it to Vegas. This has been my only experience with WestJet, and I can assure you it will be my LAST! I'll fly Southwest every time. read more

I recently flew with my son on Westjet for a golf trip to Pebble Beach. We flew out of Cranbrook, B.C. connecting in Calgary Alberta to San Francisco on Wednesday June 12. The experience was pleasant with no problems. We had a great time at Pebble Beach. Unfortunately there was an issue on the return flight. Our return flight was on Sunday June 16 (see attached), scheduled to leave at 6;05, however the plane was apparently late arriving in San Francisco and was not able to get to our gate due to traffic. To make a long story short when the plan did finally get to the gate and all the connecting bags were loaded and the plane was refueled we were "wheels up" over 2 hours late. I understand the stuff happens and even though we sat at the San Francisco for over 5 1/2 hours prior to taking off, we were just happy to be on our way home. The issue I have with Westjet is that when we landed in Calgary, our connecting flight had already left for Cranbrook with no alternative flights, so, we had to overnight in Calgary. We spoke with a customer service agent who was called to help us and she said just go get our bags, which we did. Our itinerary was changed to board an early morning flight to Cranbrook the following morining. Under normal circumstances we expected to be compensated for our Hotel stay in Calgary, which has happened when similar issues have happened with other airlines, however this has not happened with Westjet. I am at a loss to understand why as we lived up to our obligation to be available and ready to depart, but, Westjet did not live up to their obligation to get us to our destination at the promised time or date. Is it our fault that the plane was late? Is it our fault that we had to pay for a hotel because Westjet did not get us to our connecting flight on time? I do not believe we should be accepting the additional cost of the Hotel and other expenses associated with this issue. Who's fault is it? I have copied Westjet values from the Website and ask is this is how those values are executed. Lost Nexus ID card at Westjet check-in counter in LAX. The flight was supposed to be LAX to YVR - Got to westjet checked in counter at LAX terminal 2, around 6:pm Jan 3, 2024, just to find out that the flight was changed from evening flight to morning flight. The Westjet agent was very polite but I don't think they got the true story from Customer Services. They send several notice months ago but they all went to spam folder. They also emailed me the notice the day before but i didn't have email access. so I didn't know! Still, I accepted I am fully responsible for the miscommunication. They suggested I'll buy new tickets for the next day but I have to work early the next morning. Hence, that is not an option for me either. Standing there, I checked online and bought new tickets with United Airlines at the last minutes. The new flight is at 7:05pm and we still have to get to Terminal 7 to check in and then go thru security. So, we rushed out of there and ran to terminal 7, without realizing that the Nexus ID card was still with the agents. I made the flight at the last minutes and contacted Westjet the next day. They suggested to fill out LAX airport Lost and Found form since everything would be turned over to Lost and Found. I was so upset because it was with Westjet agents. It was not lost. But i complied and did as told and then waited for the result. LAX Lost and Found inform me after many days that nothing got turned in to Lost and Found. So, finally on Jan 18, I filled out the Lost Item Report with Westjet. even though it was left with Westjet agent. Three days later, by Jan 21 2024, i got the resonse that they had not located a match. I don't know what to say, except this is absolutely atrocious! read more

The flight attendant on 1501 to Calgary was super attentive and humorous. The aircraft were clean and comfortable. Such a quick trip, the pilots must have been speeding ... lol. It seems the only way to travel comfortably on Westjet is in business class. Passengers on the rest of the flight, in "steerage", suffer very cramped seats with zero leg room. If you are over 6 feet, forget about having circulation return to your legs and feet for hours. Not an airline to choose if your flight is longer than 90 minutes. Something is not right with the culture of Westjet. Airport staff were late, unkempt, rude and inefficient. (actually strolled in late as people were waiting to check in....eating!!) .....then had to wait for their computers to load-all the while staring with hostility at people. It was very uncomfortable to say the least. A few passengers became angry (quite understandable) and then the arguments ensued. So disturbing for all in line. It did not make me feel like a welcome customer AT ALL! Flight attendants were also very condescending.
