From the front desk, to the doctors, nurses, and glasses specialist, everyone is truly fantastic. Our daughter has had eye issues since she was 8 months old (she's 3 now) which was quite shocking and upsetting as new parents. We tried multiple doctors and were not happy with the care until we found ABC children's Eye Specialists and they put us at ease and created a safe environment that our daughter actually loves. We have seen multiple doctors in this practice and each one has been gentle, kind, spent quality time with us, has been so so sweet with our daughter, and are impressively skilled doctors. These doctors don't just know the eye, they know kids and parents; and they care! Our experience each and every time we've been has been flawless. They always have good times to get us in, they are efficient with the time we are in the office, they bill insurance with ease, and they hook us up with the cutest glasses for our girl. Seriously, she looks forward to going to the eye doctor! The offices aren't anything fancy, but they have stuff for kids to play with and watch while they wait and the care they provide is the best in the valley...or maybe anywhere. CHECK YOUR BILLS!…read more Just took my daughter in yesterday and I had a mysterious $20 fee from her last visit. When asked what it was about they stated that it was our co-pay. I pulled up that we had paid the co-pay last visit so they called the billing office. They then told me it was for a service our insurance company denied. I asked to pay only the co-pay and I would work the $20 out with insurance later. They refused to see my daughter unless it was paid. I called insurance and guess what..... THERE WASNT EVEN A CLAIM! They are making up bills and fees so double check before you pay them ANYTHING. We will be seeing a practice with honest billing from here on out.

I came here for 2 years because of the location and that it is family owned. However, I stoped…read moregoing here for a few reasons. 1. Making an appointment was an inconvenient to my schedule. I work 7:00am-3:30pm and the latest appointment they do is 3:15pm. They are open Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:30pm and Fridays 8:00-1:00pm. They do not work Saturdays. 2. I work remotely, a desk job, and my vision would start off fine in the beginning of my day, but a few hours into my day; my vision would get blurry for a few hours, then go back to being fine in the afternoon. The doctor kept testing my vision in the exam room; as in seeing if there was something wrong with my lenses. It turned out my eyes were dry. How can a doctor not know when a patients eye is dry? That is alarming to me. Luckily, he has been patient throughout the process; but is frustrating to see an optometrist who cannot detect dry eyes. 3. If you have an appointment at 12:00, plan to n being there until 1:30pm. The doctor does not see you until 12:45/1:00pm.

I went to Dr Reiss for over 12 years. Was extremely frustrated at first because of ridiculous wait…read moretimes. Always got first am appointment and waited for hours along with a full waiting room of other first am appointment patients until Reiss waltzed in an hour later. Well, they resolved that by getting two other associates. I actually helped get Reiss affiliated with Honorhealth so that he was classified as a preferred provider thereby making it less costly for any Honorhealth employee to see him. Fast forward a few years and I needed cataract surgery. Waited there three hours while I saw Reiss chatting with out of towers who had been referred to him. He cavalierly came in, no apology and said so, ' nice to meet you, what are you here for today'. Read the chart- been a patient here for 12 years and I'm getting the last consult before my surgery. Should have walked out then. Well, had the surgery a few days later and the anesthesiologist Reiss chose put a needle in my eye muscle causing permanent triple vision. Went for my follow-up with Dr Wong and told him I felt crosseyed. He said don't worry you just need to heal. A month later I still couldn't see to drive and had no depth perception and triple vision. Demanded an immediate appointment with Reiss. Again given the bums schuffle with a long wait time. Brought a witness with me. Reiss said well at least you have your eye. He gave me a referral to someone in Glendale (another long story, very arrogant doctor) even though I am in Scottsdale and saw Reiss at the Scottsdale office. I told him what am I supposed to do- I can't see to drive anywhere. He said get an Uber. Anyway to try to shorten this saga ( could go on and on including he 'forgot to call me back with the referral and went on vacation') Found an excellent glaucoma doctor- Dr Brahms in Scottsdale and a miracle worker- Dr Plotnik worth pho Childrens hospital who was after almost 8 months of limited activity, no driving and avoiding travel- was able to fix the damage unnecessarily caused by Reiss. I have talked to several other doctors and instead of the needle anesthesia which hasn't been advised for nearly 20 years, he could have had drop anesthesia which does not have this catastrophic risk. I understand doctors make mistakes but the fact there was a better option and Reiss complete and total lack of compassion and downright arrogance i would advise everyone to stay away.

I never knew you could feel a bait and switch going to a doctor, but we sure did! Called to inquire…read moreabout co-pay while debating between visiting them and visiting Costco and wanted to confirm that it would in fact just be a better idea to establish as a patient at a doctors office but clarified that we needed a contact lens fitting. Came in and verified insurance, had exam, and all of a sudden, as we're ready to leave, they asked for almost $400 more than what I was told on the phone as my co-pay PLUS an additional $45 for a "contact lense training" for a new wearer. Mind you, ALL of what they did, the exam, eyeglass script, and lense fitting (with new contact lenses wearer), would have been $120 each at Costco WITHOUT insurance. They literally LIED to me to guilt me to pay SOMETHING saying they could lose their license if I did not pay for service rendered or if they gave a discount. Not to mention, they were running late and the entire visit lasted longer than a typical Costco visit. What a waste of time and now I have to keep my fingers crossed that I can take my vision benefits to Costco in order to get a contact lens fitting without having to pay twice. Better frame selection at Costco and Eyeglass world as well as other shops.

I visited, rcvd my eye exam, & ordered new glasses on April 23, 2025 The time it took to receive my new lenses was longer than any vision outfit I've ever dealt with...over two weeks, & I'm 75 yrs old! When they arrived my regular lense glasses were fine. My sunglasses were a disaster. A small sliver of the lens just above the bifocal was accurate. The entire top half of the lens was out of focus. The bifocal was so low I had to tilt my head back to even use them. That was two weeks ago. It is June 2, 2025 as of this writing. I called AECC this morning for the status of my reconfigured sunglasses. The CSR could not even tell me if or when they'd be shipped! This is by far the worst new glasses purchase I've ever had. Who knows when I'll have my new sunglasses...properly made? I really loved the staff & the opthalmologist. This review pains me.
