This is such a reliable cafe to meet up with friends or get some work done. I always come here for study sessions. I love the coffee. The pastries are delicious and they always seems to be different options. It is a little bit loud but I would say with some headphones on, it's not distracting at all. The matcha latte here is a solid choice. I got it lightly sweetened with vanilla syrup and opted for oat milk instead of regular milk. The matcha was decent quality, not the best, but it was well sifted, which made for a smooth drink. This place seems like a well-established neighborhood café with regular patrons, as one person who left when I entered was a on first-name basis with the baristas and waved goodbye to them. While the café is pretty narrow with only enough space for a few people to stand or sit inside at a time, there's a good amount of outdoor seating. Another great option for coffee very close to Sightglass up the street. This is a much smaller grab and go type spot compared to Sightglass which has more seating. There are a couple bar seats though here. I also got this gruyere pretzel bun that tastes pretty much exactly like ones I've gotten at Blue Bottle. Probably from the same place? My favorite thing to do in the city is discover new (to me) coffee shops, and Souvenir Coffee delivered. Easily one of my new favorite coffee shops in the city! I had already stopped for coffee before this but was drawn in by their natural aesthetic. Stopped by on Labor Day afternoon and it was understandably pretty empty. It's a small shop but the vibe is cozy and airy. The barista was kind and so nice to chat with. I ordered a Brown Sugar Sage Iced Latte and it was good and not overly sweet. The ice was also the crunchy small nugget kind which I haven't found at many coffee shops but always enjoy. I had a book with me so I didn't ask about wifi but given the small space, I'd rather come here to read or catch up with a friend anyways. I'd also suggest walking or taking public transit since it's on a busy street and parking can be tricky. Since it was near the end of the day, there weren't too many pastries left (although the chocolate zuchinni bread was catching my eye), so I'm looking forward to coming back early to see their pastry collection/try something out. read more

Cute new coffee shop that opened recently on Diviz. I'm not a big coffee person, so I opted for a matcha latte, which was amazing! It normally comes unsweetened, but I asked for sweetener in mine and it was perfect. I also had a chance to try their apple turnover, which was soooo flaky and fresh. I have a feeling all of their pastries are just as good, if not better. I really like that they have a large selection of drinks, unlike some of the other coffee shops in the area that have limited menus. I came here on a Saturday afternoon, and was pleasantly surprised by pretty much everything! The store itself is small and cute, with some seating both inside and outside for you to enjoy your coffee at. The barista was super friendly, and I generally just got a great vibe from the shop. They also offer half-off, day old baked goods, which I haven't seen at other cafes in SF. It's a great idea though!! A day isn't enough for pastries to go stale, and I can never say no to cheap pastries. I got a cortado and a day old scone. The cortado was great; mild acidity, super smooth finish, and a light bitter aftertaste. Not too milky either (which I've been having lots of problems with recently with espresso drinks). Coffee was meh. Service was very rude. The baristas didn't acknowledge me when I came in and left me standing at the register waiting to order while they kept talking. Eventually I had to ask them if I could order and one barista just said "ya". They were very cold and responded to my questions with one word answers. I asked what the wifi password was and instead of just telling me, they quickly pointed to a sign and walked off. When someone else came in after me, the same baristas immediately greeted them, took the customer's order and engaged them in conversation. Guess they didn't like how I looked? The iced americano could be stronger, just felt like it was a bit diluted, but if you are a light or medium coffee drinker, then Souvenir is the perfect spot for you; it was just not for me. Ambiance: 3.75/5 - Located on Divisadero and there's a lot of coffee shops around this area. This coffee shop is very small but quite cute with very limited indoor seating. There are only a couple of chairs and stools inside and no outdoor seating. I would say it's more like a grab-and-go type of deal, definitely, it is not a comfortable place to relax or to do work. I hate to leave a bad review but the matcha latte I had was so underwhelming that it's actually something to write home about. Maybe it was an off day but the drink I got was probably 90% milk (with barely any foam) and 10% matcha, even 10% feels generous given it was just a slightly pale green color. Wow, what a great find after our run this morning! We haven't ventured over to Divisadero much since COVID started, but it was really nice to see this new coffee shop had popped up. A stone's throw from San Francisco coffee heavyweight Sightglass, Souvenir can definitely hold their own! What we ordered: -- Souvenir Espresso Blend ($3.50) // Rich and smooth, perfectly textured and came with sparkling water to cleanse the palate. A super nice touch that virtually nowhere in the states (that I've been to) offers, but you'll see it often in Europe! The espresso was beautifully pulled and creamy. -- Drip Coffee, Dark Roast ($3.50) // Really nice depth of flavor, one of the best drip coffees I've had lately. There's nothing to hide behind when it comes to drip coffee, and this one was great. Absolutely no bitterness or overly acidic aftertaste, just smooth and satisfying. -- Vegan Banana Blueberry Bread ($4.25?) // Didn't catch the official price on this, but I think it's around $4. It's a hefty slice of banana bread that's moist, sweet and delicious. The perfect complement to our coffee! Wouldn't hesitate to order this again, it's pretty addicting actually! I'm really excited to have Souvenir join the SF coffee club! It feels like many of the roasters in the city with multiple storefronts don't take the art of brewing as seriously anymore, but that's not the case at Souvenir. The coffee tasted like it was brewed to perfection with care and respect for the beans, which, if I'm paying close to $4 for a small drip coffee, it better be! :P The shop is cozy, clean and modern, service was fast and friendly, but most importantly the coffee is outstanding. They also have a bunch of cute retail items like mugs, hats, beanies and totes, plus bags of beans to go. I'll probably pick up a bag next time I'm here for those mornings I want a solid cup at home. The service is really nice and they let us sit inside and use our laptops so that was really nice but overall wasn't a huge fan of the drinks and felt like it was a bit small for somewhere I might visit on a more frequent basis. 4/30/22 This was a completely random visit. Like typically nearly all places we go to we first found on Yelp. But today we were down the street for the launch of a kickstarter game my friend made, and afterwards I was hungry and my gf needed to peeeeeeeeeeee............ And I could not frickin' believe it--yes, mix boiled leaves and COFFEE with lemonade and you get...... man, some of the most complex fruitiness conceivable. Not only was the lemonade nice, and the tea herbally flavorful....... COFFEE??????--yeah it adds... not quite spice, but just like something to tickle you by, and just the right extra kick of bitterness. Amazing. I gotta do this at home. 10/10 2. Havana Latte $5.50: I only had a sip, but just from that singly sip I can tell you this is hella rich. And unlike MANY other places, they got the mix of milk to espresso right--so many other places pass their lattes off as tan colored milk. Got a cappuccino, that didn't come topped with art :( but tasted excellent, had a smooth finish to it and wasn't bitter. Friendly service. The shop itself is cozy and seating is limited but they have a few outdoor tables. I live off Divisadero and if youre around the area you know there are coffee and tea shops on every other corner. I found this spot through Yelp and haven't looked back since. My favorite coffee shop off Divisadero (over Sightglass and The Mill). Matcha Latte - 9/10 - they use ceremonial grade matcha! Ice Vietnamese - 10/10 - its not your typical vietnamese coffee, but this version of it is fantastic. Latte with condensed milk gives it a nice creaminess to it. Latte with Oatmilk - 10/10 The beans they use for all their coffee drinks is SO GOOD. Up there with Philz :) read more
