Soy Pinoy is located inside POST Houston, so you get that open, hawker-style food hall setup with tons of first-come, first-serve seating. The space is massive and surprisingly comfortable, making it a great place to hang out if you're a foodie who likes options. There are indoor courtyards and even a rooftop with nice decor and city views--but I'll save my full POST Houston thoughts for another review. Now, onto Soy Pinoy, because this is where my senses officially took over. What pulled me in wasn't a sign or a menu--it was the aroma. The kind that makes you slow your walk and start scanning to see where it's coming from. Then I saw the display. They had several dishes laid out front and center, plated beautifully on banana leaves, looking crisp, golden, and downright tempting. At that point, it felt less like choosing food and more like being chosen by it. I ordered two dishes. The pork dish was fine--no complaints--but it didn't really wow me. Solid, but not something I'd rush back for. The real star was the whole fried red snapper. I loved that I actually got to pick the fish myself from the display up front, which already sets the tone for freshness. It came out perfectly breaded and fried to a crisp, with great crunch on the outside while the fish inside stayed tender and flavorful. It was served with a side of rice and a fish sauce with Thai chilies that really elevated the whole dish--salty, spicy, and just what it needed to cut through the richness. This is absolutely something I would order again without hesitation. Overall, Soy Pinoy knows exactly how to grab your attention--and more importantly, how to deliver when it counts. If you're walking through POST Houston hungry, good luck resisting this place. I tried... and clearly failed.

Located at the POST; Soy Pinoy offers a fast casual option of Filipino cuisine with most of the well known options. I got a lechon / roast pork plate which came with some pickled slaw and lumpia (fried eggroll and shrimp crisps). Honestly this felt like a very shallow and basic rendition of the cuisine; I felt fairly disappointed by the taste and execution of the dish as it was fairly bland and missing a lot of the high notes associated with the very flavorful experiences of Filipino food. Plenty of other choices at the POST that I feel have better quality and flavor profiles.

I'm from SoCal visiting friends in Houston, and I had to see what soy Pinot was all About. It was great. Service was Quick. And the food was pretty top notch. The meat was so flavorful, I got the bbq platter, because why not have it all. The lechon was juicy. The pork belly was tender and the chicken wasn't dry at all. Everything was Well seasoned. I'd definitely come Back. I have no regrets coming here.

Great spot for bites at the POST. Tried the Veggie Pancit Noodles and they were great! Savory, a little bit of sour, and full of flavor. Also, I was able to eat a couple of meals with their portion size, so the price was worth it to me. I'll definitely come back to try some other items soon.

i visited soy pinoy at the post and ordered the bbq plate ($22), which includes bbq pork, lechon, bbq chicken, atchara, sarsa sauce, and chili vinegar. i hadn't eaten here before, so i went with the multi-meat combo. the bbq pork was definitely the highlight -- super flavorful and tender, and the bbq chicken was a close second, nicely seasoned. both meats paired well with the purple cabbage and rice. unfortunately, the lechon was a letdown. it seemed reheated, as the skin was extremely tough, almost to the point of risking a broken tooth. the price is definitely on the higher side, which is likely due to the post location. most places in the food court is overpriced, and on top of that, parking is $5 an hour, which feels a bit much. it would be nice if they offered parking validation for customers. while the rooftop area is nice, there's nothing particularly special about it to justify the high prices. if they're going to charge so much, they should at least offer free parking. overall, while there's potential at the post, the extra costs make it hard to fully enjoy.

Ordered the bbq plate since they were out of the Lechon and the service as just awful. The wait for our food was extremely long with no explanation from the staff and the portion was too small for the price. Thankfully the bbq was super tasty but definitely not enough to return! Didn't really like the sauce on the side either.

When you are a Filipino traveling Texas and you see a place called "Soy Pinoy"...of course you gotta try it! Soy Pinoy is a Filipino eatery located in the POST market in Houston. I had never heard of this place before our visit and had to try their bbq and lumpia. Overall the food was good. The lumpia had a good taste and the bbq was on point with some of the best Filipino bbq I have had. If we had more time and lived in the area, I would love to taste their entire menu. The smells coming from this kitchen were amazing! Definitely worth a try !

This is my first time trying fillipino food, and I was not disappointed! I loved the bbq chicken, jasmine rice and the eggs rolls, they were so crispy! They had these shrimp chips that were so flavorful and everything was placed on a banana leaf for authenticity, it was amazing, I don't live in Houston but I will be looking for places near me!

As a filipino, this place isn't that bad for a quick lunch. I ordered the bbq platter which has BBQ Pork, chicken and lechon and atchara on the side. I might say that everything taste as how it supposed to be. Bbq pork and chicken is tender and good. Lechon didn't come with sauce so I can't really comment on it but meat is okay. I'm not really from Houston but stumbled across this place def a place to try.

Amazing pork belly combination plate and I got the egg roll (lumpia). The egg rolls were pretty flavorful and love that it came with shrimp(prawn?) chips. Quick customer service and received our order in no time.

Being Filipino and growing up with a mom, grandmothers, aunties, and myself all cooking delicious Filipino dishes, I am no stranger to the cuisine. So, whenever my hometown introduces a new Filipino restaurant, it's always a bucket list goal to check them out. At Soy Pinoy, flavors are familiar but "new," inspired by native concepts but some seasoning & ingredients are less traditional. Like many of the other stalls in the Post HTX food court, they seem to have a "fusion" approach. Sometimes the recipe works, but sometimes it's risky... And to be honest, I'm not sure my tastebuds enjoyed it here. Not sure if it's the oil, vinegar, or seasoning (msg?) used, but everything left an offensive taste in my mouth that lingered for hours... And price-wise, you don't get a whole lot of value-for-the-money. I paid over $22 for a combo that consisted of a plate of mediocre veggie pancit (noodles), cold & stale lumpia (spring rolls), and a few small pieces of pork bbq, with a fountain drink. Not to mention - if you're only coming to Post HTX to eat, be prepared to tack on a parking fee of $5 per hour. I can't justify the price, when there are far better dining options nearby. Besides being unimpressed by the cost and taste of my meal, I couldn't say much better about the overall experience. Service was extremely slow for food that didn't taste fresh off the stovetop/grill. I waited almost 20min for the notification on my phone to text me that my food was ready. Nothing on my tray was hot & fresh; more like pre-made & room temp. On top of that, some standard menu items weren't available. We arrived just before noon on a Sunday, but we were told the highly coveted Lechon wouldn't be ready until 2pm. Advertising says it's only available on the weekends, but nowhere do they specify a time of day.... This was extremely disappointing for a first-timer who drove over an hour from the north side of town and didn't have the time to wait 2hrs for the dish they were looking forward to trying the most. Sadly, with such a formula for disappointment, I don't think we will be back anytime soon.

It had been a minute since we meandered into the Post, where this spot is located. For those who are just venturing to the Post, it's important to note there is some city metered parking around the facility's parking lot. During M-R, the price is free for the private lot up to I believe 75 minutes, then it's $5+ after that time allotment. On Friday through Sunday, only the first 20 minutes is free in the private lot, presumably for to go pickups. Inside, there is communal seating while some establishments have a few tables for themselves. Soy Pinoy is not one of those spots. Be prepared to look around for seating on the weekend when the Post seems to always busy. Soy Pinoy is one of many spots to choose and we had never tried their BBQ Pork. It didn't disappoint. We noticed the rice was a bit dry, but the spicy sauce and veggies were well prepared. The bbq pork itself was great, very flavorful, crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside. I'm knocking this one star as the price is a little steep in my opinion for what you get. Though that goes for most the spots in the Post.
