Me and my work bestie came to get our nails done together and had the BEST experience. I've been coming here for a while so I love to convert my friends! Lucy, the owner is always incredibly nice and remembers everyone, it makes you feel soo special and taken care of when you see her and she always recognizes you. My friend and I wanted specific manicures with art so she got each of us set up with amazing nail techs. I got my SNS nude mani done by Johanna who was SUCH a perfectionist! SNS manicures can be tricky and she did an incredible job. Then Lily popped in to do my rainbow tips (Johannas shift was over and I LOVE that Spa Blue respects her time and she went home on schedule!) Lily also put in so much effort and focus to make sure it was exactly right. My friend had Alex do her nails and she used this very unique gold paste to do the design and it came out perfect. Alex was so attentive and precise with her work on my friends manicure and design. We both got wonderful relaxing massages in our chairs that really made the experience so relaxing and luxurious. I had the most AMAZING experience at this salon. After doing some research I decided to give spa blue a chance because the location was very convenient for me. However, I was wary because the older reviews weren't too good and they didn't have any pictures up. The place just recently got new management and they are SPECTACULAR at what they do. I am more than satisfied with my mani-pedi. The owner is so warm and friendly and the workers went over and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. The woman who owns it is very good at what she does and she has won my loyalty. This is the only nail salon I will go to from now because not only was I treated well but they also did an amazing job with my nails. Fantastic job! I 100% recommend this place. Also, I opted for a 10minute massage while I was getting my nails done and the woman who does it has magical hands! If I could give this place 6 stars I would!! This Spa is very clean, and the woman owner Lucy is an absolute sweetheart. Love her! The place offers great services, and the staff is friendly and it's always a nice experience. My issue with this place, and why I no longer will it refer others is the male who (seems like the manager?) I'm not sure his role to be honest. He walks around in front of customers talking down to his employees which makes me really upset. He doesn't seem to understand pacing back and forth through the salon barking orders at people who work there is uncomfortable to others and gross. I enjoy seeing people being kind to one another, and he seems to be a cloud of anxiety to the staff and also to the customers witnessing his words and actions. I do love this place, but his attitude and the way he handles his role can really cause people not want to come back. read more

Great experience at Spa Blue! It was my second or third time here and the service is consistently good. We're in early phases of NYC opening so there weren't many people when I arrived so I can't speak to the experience when it's busy. I got a pedicure with 30 min feet and leg massage since I walked a lot the weekend prior. It was very relaxing and a lot of the tension in my feet were gone. So great. I was one of the last customers there that day and during my pedicure drying some of the polish came off. Despite it already being past closing time they noticed when I was getting my shoes and offered to fix it. We had to take off the polish, redo it, and redry the toes. This was great service and I feel like a valued customer when coming in! I'm happy it's close to my apartment so I can go back more frequently! read more

went to visit my student at Parsons college new york and got a gel manicure and a pedicure. They did a fantastic clean and thorough job. The massage was great on my shoulders and lower back and relieved the tensions i normally have. The gel polish lasted over 3weeks without any chipping. From the moment i walked into the beautifully decorated salon i felt the positive energy and down to earth vibe from the ladies that work there. It's been four days since my regular mani/pedi (full of cooking, cleaning and dealing with two toddlers of my own!), but my nails are still looking shiny and haven't chipped at all! Definitely worth the price, as my manicurist paid extensive attention to detail and took her time to perfect my nails. I felt super pampered; from the moment I walked in, someone took my coat and shoes to place on a rack, and to the moment my nails were done drying, when my manicurist helped me remove the disposable flip flops and helped me to put my shoes on! The salon is very nice and clean, the technicians are very talented and good. The only reason why i am giving low rating it's because of the owner of the spa. She is very rude to her employees, I've been there several times and i had an amazing experience but i can see that she is controlling everybody. Never inclined to write Yelp reviews- but I thought Spa Blue deserved recognition. I found them on Google and was convinced by the majority 5-star reviews to try it out- glad I did! Yes, their gel manicure is slightly higher than average price (about $42), but after my first visit I've become a repeat customer. Clean facilities, friendly staff, a spa like environment and perfect looking nails. Have gotten a lot of compliments on them and they lasted for 3 weeks without chipping, which is not typical for me! read more

I've been here a couple of times now and the service is the best in the city. The technicians do a fabulous job and they take their time!! Which is so nice. Everyone in there is friendly and easy to talk to, you feel right at home. Lucy, the manager, is amazing and will take care of you. You can tell she cares about her customers. I am visiting NYC and saw this place as my nail was badly splitting. I asked them to repair it for me, because it was splitting sideways across the bed. They said yes and it all started fine. But the nail tech never spoke to me and instead the owner did all the talking. She was clearly not qualified which makes sense why she hovered. The tech almost ripped my nail off with the drill, until the owner told her to be careful and she then calmed down and used a different efile and then used a buffer. It is now "fixed," but the shape is different, and there is an obvious dent in it. It is also crooked. I asked if she could file one little edge off on the other side and instead she painted over it (but only half??). When it was time to pay, I then asked if I could have the cheap disposal nail file she used if they throw them away anyways (my usual nail tech always offers it to me because they discard them) and her attitude came out and she said, "why do I have to give you it, we only fixed one nail?" and she shot me a dirty look. First, I just asked because most CLEAN places throw them out after. She was immediately rude then started talking and laughing about it with her staff. And, It still has a snag, why I nicely asked for a file to fix the sloppy work. I wasn't going to complain but then she gave me attitude. There is a reason this place is empty!!!! Service is bad and attitude is too! Go somewhere else with more experienced techs and reputable friendly owners. Just look for her nasty reply-that should tell you everything you need to know!

The color I chose was apparently very sheer and took a lot of time. They ended up switching techs halfway through and then back. Both guys seem pretty well trained but they nipped my cuticle too far and cut me. It seemed ok because they sanitize with alcohol. I really liked their pedicure but it is unfortunate that my friend got messed up.

I walked in and asked for acrylic, they said in front of myself and my boyfriend yes come , I will do . They removed my excessing acrylic from my nails , when processed to do powder , I stopped them and said this is not acrylic. They answered O Honey we don't do acrylic, I said , why u lied , I don't want powdered or anything else . I want acrylic. Now my real nails are weak, brittle and almost, broken, they bring me back and say don't worry we fix , fix with cheap powder that I did not want . I try to let them fix it but after an hour , and a horrible outcome. I walked out demanding to see a manager. Of course there no manager. I will be removing these nails , and now have to wait 3 weeks for my real nails to grow back . I will be filing a letter of complaint to the better business bureau. I'm left crying and with no nails .
