Celebrated my birthday here with my gfs, relaxing indeed, tried out all the saunas and liked that there was a red light therapy section, visually this place is beautiful! 3 stars because there was hair in the hot tubs and didn't feel totally clean, smelled like Clorox! none the less the customer service was wonderful, and they actively had people mopping, had lunch on site at the restaurant, it was delicious, we also had boba tea from the juice bar and that was really yummy too, $85 admission during the week and good price for food! would not pay $110 on the weekends, check out website for specials.

    The pools

I want to preface this by saying that I came here with my mom on Mother's Day so my hope is that this place is better on less busy days. It was so crowded that none of the hydrotherapy massages were open. There was a wait for everything from the pools to the saunas. Once i finally got a place at a hydrotherapy massage the jets were so strong it nearly blew me out of the water quite literally. Think a shiatsu massage but with water pounding your back. I mean if that's what you are looking for then power to you. To be fair some of the other hydrotherapy seats were gentler. When I saw that this place would be kid friendly I really underestimated just how many kids would be there. It felt like a water park with hot water. As if water parks could get any more disgusting! In keeping with its water park motif, the floors were so dirty with cups and bandaids littering the area around the pool. They didn't have enough slippers so they just gave me one that was 2 sizes too small. I guess it didn't matter anyway because someone ended up stealing my slippers. Plus there was hair floating around in the pool. The saunas were okay but so crowded and did not seem very clean. The food was mediocre. I ordered a dolsot bibimbap and they used the wrong type of rice which was undercooked and they barely gave you any meat. I am giving this 2 stars instead of 1 because my mom and I did not let this ruin our day. We had a good laugh about it afterwards and it certainly was a memorable Mother's Day. We had fun but was it worth $110 per person?

I have to say for my first time at the spa place I had a good time with my friends. I always heard bad stories about this location, so I never tried it, but my friend was like she never experienced bad things there and when she goes it usually during the week when there's not a lot of people and that's what we did and we were able to enjoy every part of the location. Everybody was nice and polite. Everybody was friendly. The drinks were good. The food was good. The ambience was good. Everything about it was good. We were there from morning to close that's how much fun and comfortable. We were being there and relaxed. I will definitely will be going again. So don't go by the bad publicity or bad information you get from people try for yourself to find out how the location is.

I've been a loyal Spa Castle customer from day one, even during the times they closed for renovations. I've always supported this place and truly wanted it to continue being great. Last Wednesday, we visited from around 3:30 PM to 8:30 PM (they close at 9:30 PM), so we were mindful not to rush them or their closing shift. Overall, the spa experience itself was good. The facilities were fine, and the food was absolutely chef's kiss as always -- that part never disappoints. I also understand that prices have gone up, and while Spa Castle is now priced similarly to SoJo Spa, I didn't mind paying more since everything else in life has also gone up. However, the experience was completely ruined at the very end. When we were about to leave, we realized there were no hair dryers at all -- not even one. Yes, you read that right: a spa with NO hair dryers. I asked the three ladies at the front desk if there were any hair dryers available, and they told me, "We don't have any. Customers steal them." I was shocked. That is not the customer's responsibility -- it's the spa's responsibility to manage and replace basic amenities. A hair dryer is a basic service at any spa, especially in winter, when it's cold outside and people cannot walk out with wet hair. When we went to check out, a male and a female staff member were at the counter. The man asked how our experience was, and I honestly said everything was fine except for the fact that there were no hair dryers, which was very disappointing. He looked at the female staff member, and she said, "We do have one hair dryer. Did you ask them?" I told her yes -- we asked twice, and three employees told us there were none. Instead of apologizing or trying to help, her tone was rude and dismissive. There was no effort to resolve the issue or even acknowledge how uncomfortable and unfair that situation was. No spa should send guests out into the cold with wet hair after they paid full price for the experience. Sadly, the lack of basic amenities and the unprofessional attitude at the front desk completely ruined what could have been a great visit. I was very disappointed, especially as someone who has supported Spa Castle for years. At this point, I would rather go to King Spa or SoJo Spa, where customer service and basic spa standards are taken seriously. Very upsetting experience, and sadly, I don't think I'll be returning.

This is my first time at Spa Castle so I can't comment on the facility and changes pre renovation. We decided to take advantage of the spa on veterans day, which was a Monday since the weather was fairly warm for fall. I was dreading to see the place packed with kids since school was out, but was pleasantly surprised. The spa was fairly empty and had so many open spaces to eat, sit, and lounge. The locker room was clean and spacious. They provided 2 towels and a robe to be returned unless you want to pay a $35 fee. I started my day exploring all the amenities from top to bottom and was impressed by the nice decor and variety of hydrotherapy jets in the pools. The outdoor deck had 2 large outdoor pools, 2 hot tubs and a dry sauna in the middle. I enjoyed trying all the massage jets and soaking in the hot tub. The main floor had about 5 dry saunas but the most impressive one was the Himalayan salt sauna. It had lit pink walls and tall mirror ceilings, perfect for selfies. It also felt like the warmest room out of the bunch. Other sauna offerings were jade, color therapy, ice, gold, Halotherapy, and infrared. Though we did not eat at Spa Castle, there were two dining options and their prices were not terrible. I think the new admission prices ($110 for adult weekends) have reduced the amount of spa goers, keeping the place clean and spacious. I spent about 6 hours here and could have stayed longer. It was truly a relaxing and therapeutic experience that I recommend. My one complaint is the price of the Korean body scrub for $95, which is almost the price of admission.

Locker size is generous and comes with hangers

I finally returned to Spa Castle after 16 year and it was a fantastic experience. I don't quite remember much from my last visit, I distinctly recall having a great time, and this visit didn't disappoint. We arrived on a Saturday at 10:30 AM, which is pretty soon after their 10am opening, and were pleasantly surprised to find it not crowded at all. I mainly came to test the place before planning a girls spa day for December. Therefore we decided to take full advantage of the facilities trying everything... every floor, every sauna room, steam room, relaxing chairs, pools etc. Overall, we loved the experience, although we did notice that only one sauna was truly hot; the others could have been warmer. I thoroughly enjoyed the steam room in the bath area - you really break a sweat there. I also wanted to address some of the reviews I'd read before going: Contrary to what some ppl claimed, we found that the spa provided everything we needed: robes, towels, slippers, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion. I can't believe I paid attention to these reviews and packed unnecessary items like shampoo, conditioner, and slippers and body lotion. And the food was priced FAIRLY. What do guy guys want? A dollar tree meal Did they even go to the lookout floor (level 4) ... we found it to be great, with prices for food that felt appropriate for a spa setting. Overall, our day at Spa Castle was great and I will definitely go ahead to plan a girls spa day for my friend's birthday in December

One of my favorite places to unwind. It is especially nice in the winter with the outdoor heated pool. I find it is always clean and the locker rooms/bathrooms are well maintained. I cannot speak for the food but drink options (non-alcoholic) are good. It can get particularly busy during the weekends but it is perfect on an early weekday.

We appreciated the different sauna rooms The heat helped with sinus and stress tension The dinner we had was a solid 6/10, it was a little low on salt and flavor but overall we enjoyed most of it. The ambiance is pretty relaxing and everyone is in their own zone. We came on a week day Tuesday evening and it was perfect and almost empty which was great and quiet Service was also good and informative

Ask the Community - Spa Castle

    How much Is on Fridays?

Hi Susy, Admission to Spa Castle is $110 for adults and $65 for guests 17 and under from Friday…

Are the rates cheaper during winter time?

No, the only times u can get a cheaper price for entrance is if u catch a sale, through them or Groupon.

Does anyone know the name of the soap and shampoo products they use?

Best day/night to avoid families with kids?

Unfortunately you can't really avoid kids at Spa Castle anymore. They need to implement a "no kids" policy OR a day where no kids are allowed.

    Do they have man masseuses?

They do, but I believe they use females for women massages, and males for men massages.

    Can u sleep here?

Yes they have designated sleeping area.

Has anyone been there since the reopening? Any advise? Recommend?

Yes we have. We have been denied entry twice for various "spontaneous policy changes". They are very discriminatory. I wouldn't recommend it.

Do you have to be 18 or older to go on your own?

Yes you have to be over 18 and provide identification,

Sundays any good or a lot of Annoying kids?

Hi Andy I actually don't mind the spa with kids. I do not take my kids to the nude area that is up…

    Good 4 kids?

Are kids allowed, yes. Good for them? No.

How much is it to rent slippers? Can you buy them and reuse them when you come to the facility again?

You can purchase them for 6.99 or 9.99 and use again when you come back to the facility but no more rental items due to Covid .

Can both male and female be nude together in the spa?

No. Locker room pools are the only area where nudity is allowed/required, and they are same gender.

When is the best day/Time to go for least crowd? When is the worst time to go?

When it first opens...period. otherwise it's a zoo...

What is the youngest age allowed to come into spa and go in saunas? Can a 15yr child come with adult?

Any age it does not matter children adults any age

I want to go on my day off but it's going to rain will the outside be close?

Not at all I went it the cold winter the water is hot outside so even if rains it feels so nice and warm you ll love it it'does not matter if rains or not you will not get cold.

I would like to book a massage. Is there an option where I can choose my Masseuse?

I'm not sure. We weren't given the option, but I recommend you call and try to communicate instead of booking via computer or using your phone.

Are all the pools heated? I really want a colder pool

They’ve not heated. Regular pools with jets. The hot tub is the only one that’s temperature controlled. Have fun!

The queens location , handicap accessible ? Elevator on site ? Thanks

I have never seen one, nor seen anyone who seemed like they could use one. I would call however, perhaps there is a service elevator of some sort that I just never noticed.

Can I spend the night there?

No. They close late and open the next morning.

Do they charge you at the door when you have a groupon?

There is small tax fee I think. Less than 2 dollars but you pay for everything at the end. They will check your groupon when you enter however.

If you check some of the 40+ reviews you'll get a sense of why I was hesitant. Honestly, I was just searching for a review I think I could trust. Not to say that the writers experiences were not accurate, but one never knows until they've experienced things for themselves. With that, despite my skepticism I forged ahead. When I walked in at first I was put off, as this is in no way a Dobbs Ferry high end spa, but desperation has its motivation. Arrived mid-morning without an appointment. This was risky as other patrons were already there, though luckily space was still available. My massage area, not a separate room, had enough privacy where I felt comfortable. During my session, realization kicked in noting that bells and whistles were not needed nor were they missed. My masseuse, Amy did the necessary and got to work getting those kinks out of my back. The full body massage that followed from head to toe, with a bit of stretching was an added bonus. To say I walked out happy with my massage experience, justifies a return back to this no frills spot. So I'm digging in my purse in the dark for the money, topless for all to see. I've always paid at the end of the massage on past visits and at every other massage place I've been to. The massage itself sucked. I told the worker that I wanted only my back done, and then told her she should focus on the top of my back + shoulders. She barely spent any time in that area, and when she was working in that area, completely weak pressure and left my shoulders almost untouched. She spent time on my legs as well, which was odd since I asked only for my back to be done. Then when the massage ended, she left the room so I could change. One minute later she opens the door again and is peering in at me. I happened to be dressed, but what if I wasn't? Who busts in on someone getting changed? How uncomfortable and rude. I was expected to put my personal belongings in a basket sitting on the floor. The AC unit was extremely loud and worked almost too well. My massage table was directly underneath it, and I was freezing for much of the appointment. The environment itself also didn't feel particularly serene or luxurious. There was no real comforting spa scent, and the entire experience felt very conveyor-belt-ish rather than personal or relaxing. The ginger shampoo was another surprise. It creates a very noticeable hot/spicy sensation on the scalp, and I was completely caught off guard by it because there was no warning beforehand. I really think clients should be told about that before the product is used, especially anyone with a sensitive scalp. Then came the "blowout," which I actually had to remind the technician about. Unfortunately, it was essentially some product placed in my hair followed by air being blown through it. It was nowhere close to what I would consider a blowout, especially compared with the results I had seen from influencers advertising this business. That was extremely disappointing because the expectations were set much higher than what was actually delivered. The massage itself was okay, but even the blankets felt dingy, which added to the overall feeling that the experience wasn't as clean, polished, comfortable, or luxurious as I expected for the price. And this is where my disappointment is especially strong: I'm a new mom. I don't get many opportunities to step away and do something for myself right now. When I finally do, I need that time and money to feel worthwhile. I wasn't expecting perfection -- I was expecting to feel relaxed, cared for, and like I had actually gotten the restorative experience I paid for. Instead, I spent the entire appointment feeling uncomfortable, cold, and underwhelmed. I also have to be honest that I resent the local influencer promotion surrounding this place because it created an expectation of an experience that simply wasn't reflected in my visit. I wish I could get my money back. I genuinely regret spending it here, and I personally would not return.
