This spa looks nice from the outside because it was never open. I guess it is a spa, but is not owned by the hotel and hires independent contractors to come in. Unfortunately, I did ask the Front Desk (as we were staying there) if we could take a tour of the spa. Spend the extra money and go to the La Quinta Resort. To be fair, the therapists are a third party group, who were absolutely wonderful. But the spa is not ran by nobody on site, the hotel concierges can not help you because the spa is not associated with the hotel and there is no front desk receptionist to let you in or greet you. The steam room did not work, the jacuzzi was filthy and there were Cockroaches by the sandals. Would not recommend. There were 7 of us expecting a spa experience. Spend the extra money and go elsewhere. Edit: I've also noticed on here, Dennis the owner had said if you let him know in advance that you are coming and wish to use the amenities they will prepare and have staff come in early to let you in. That is not the case. This is our second time coming here, we had weeks of notice of our large parties both times, and still there was no one to meet us or set us up (or even let us in). We had a horrible experience at the Spa at the Embassy Suites in La Quinta CA. When I called for an appointment I asked if they had a steam room and whirlpool and I was told they did and I could use them. I was told I had to give a credit card in advance because "they pay the therapists in advance.' That sounded sketchy to me, but I did it. When we arrived at the spa 1 hour before our appointments no one was there. I asked at the front desk and was told the hotel had nothing to do with the spa and they could not help me. We walked into the locker rooms, there were no towels or robes, and the steam rooms were turned off. The whirlpool was filthy, had bugs in it and clearly had not been cleaned in a while. I turned the steam rooms on, and they took 15 minutes to start producing steam. We wondered around and found someone who worked at the beauty salon. She very kindly got us towels and robes. My wife was very uncomfortable as no one was at the spa desk and anyone could just walk right in (as we did). In the time we had before our massage appointments the steam rooms never reached their proper temperature. At the time for our massages the therapists showed up. One of them spoke no English at all. We told them about our experience and the one who did speak English said they had nothing to do with that, they are independent contractors and just show up when someone schedules a massage. If I had not already paid we would have left. But since I had we went ahead and had the massages, which were good. I called the spa the next day and the person I got said she was only a booking agent and could not help me. I asked for contact into for the manager of the spa and she said she would have him call me. No one ever called. I called again the next day and was told the same. Again, I did not get a call. It's seems to be impossible to speak with anyone in management there. I would never go back. read more

Donna and Bre are the reason to come here. Donna's facial techniques and products are like none other. My skin is always glowing for a week at least. Bre is the best deep tissue healing massage I've had outside on physical therapy. You can trust her to cure your aches and ails. However - if you ever wish to come early and use the actual spa - it's a total mess. The front desk staff doesn't exist and it's up to the therapists to come early or stay late for their appointments- which is of course, ridiculous. So make sure you either give them notice, or just come at your exact scheduled time. That said - after a massage with Bre or a facial with Donna - I tend to forget all my worries. read more

The massage was good but came early to enjoy the amenities but the spa is in a hotel, run by a third party and they show up just before your massage time and have you leave right after. The sign says open, but you have to call and make an appointment and then they open the doors and let you in...THIS IS NOT A FULL SERVICE SPA!!!! The massage therapists are good, but there is NO heat (it was freezing the day we went, 12/28). First we were told there were no robes or slippers then one of the therapists found some....the jacuzzi was filthy, so we said no ( and we would have had to wait for it to heat up). We did a couples massage and one of the massage specialist was horrible the other was good the booking was difficult I had a call several times just to get them to book me for a massage. It seems that nobody's there unless they're doing a massage so the place is kind of empty. The locker rooms were not equipped with towels and things that you need to get ready. I booked a massage one morning and enjoyed it so much I booked a facial the next. The facial was such a wonderful treat, the warm spa bed and the aromatherapy mister to soften the face, the heat and the fragrance , awesome. Juliana was sweet and such a pro. My skin has never felt so good. She treated my face like a work of art plus her massage of my hands, feet, neck and shoulders were just the finishing touch I needed to feel pampered. Spa Hibiscus is fantastic. It is very clean and not crowded like other spas. I had a hot stone massage and Jun was awesome. Just the right pressure and she is a pro at using the hot stones, which felt amazing all over. I left the massage feeling extremely relaxed, all the pressure in my neck and shoulders was gone. My daughter had a facial with Maria and it was just what she needed. Maria took her time and gave an A+ facial, my daughter's acne is now clearing up thanks to Maria! We will definitely come back here and ask for Jun and Maria when we are in Palm Desert next time. We will also tell our friends about Spa Hibiscus when they visit Coachella Valley next. This place is a hidden gem, no need to go to the big resorts and spend all of that money. This spa has great quality at a good price. read more

My wife and I just indulged in a spa treatment here. We got mud wraps with scalp and foot massage. It was "To die for." We each utilized the separated steam rooms and infused with lavender and jacuzzis. Soooo great. A little pricey but worth it if you come with time to utilize the extras. The technicians were superb. Decided to get s last minute pedicure. The Spa accommodated my request. Deja was friendly, polite, professional. She did a wonderful job taking care of these tired Mommas feet. I booked and paid for this massage for my friend for her birthday since we were staying at the hotel. Her experience started off decent. The place was empty besides the one masseuse. She did enjoy her massage which is why I left two starts. However, as she was leaving she was asked for her card number. Of course she gave the card number since she was asked. After she left I got a receipt saying her card was charged for the massage, but I had already paid for it 2 weeks prior when I booked it. We went back down and got it sorted out, but I was very disappointed that she was even asked for her card number when I had paid. And i had told the guy who booked it that my name was meghann and i was paying for the massage for my friend Haley, and that the massage was not for me. It seems very unorganized and as if it's ran by a third party. It's just not the spa environment that we have experienced before at other hotels. It's more of a "get your massage and leave" type of place where you may be charged twice due to lack of communication. read more

Went here with my dad and his girlfriend while on a long weekend trip to the Desert. This place is fantastic. One of my best spa experiences ever. My masseuse used just the right pressure, they let you keep the left over massage oil (got the Aging Gracefully massage and I highly recommend it).for my facial I had an anti aging facial with added eye treatment (bad under eye circles!) and I look like I slept for a month. Great massage but lousy mani/pedi. My husband and I were in SoCal recently and decided to treat ourselves to a spa day. The place is gorgeous and the staff were friendly. The massages we received were excellent and worth the price. The mani/pedi was a complete waste of money! The manicurist, who recently graduated with her cosmetology certificate, was very sweet but totally incompetent. I had chellac on my finger nails and she did not know how to take them off. I had to explain that she needed to file the tops slightly before putting on the polish remover soaked cotton ball and wrapping them in foil. I believe she used non-acetone remover so it didn't work. She then decided to file off my chellac which was a very tedious process and left my nails bumpy and rough. I asked her to cut my nails because I need them short for work. Worst nail shaping ever. She didn't cut me but she barely filed the ends so I was left with sharp edges that ended up snagging on everything. Since by this time I was really unhappy with her work I just asked her to put clear polish on them. They were so rough and bumpy that the usually shiny polish looked like it had a matte finish. When she gave my husband a mani (just to clean them up a bit) she did end up cutting a couple of his cuticles which bled a little. Once again, great massages but absolutely the worst mani/pedi EVER!!! read more

I love the Spa Hibiscus. I've been there a few times and each and every time it's been wonderful. The ambiance is very comforting. As well, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I can't remember the names of the girls that gave me massages the last couple times; but regardless, they were excellent. I've also had a couple of facials at Spa Hibiscus; they were spectacular. Great place, very reasonable prices (not as expensive at the big hotels and casino spas) and very comforting from top to bottom. I would certainly recommend them. read more
