I had " Ms. Donna" lady with glasses for what was suppose to be a deep tissue body massage. It was honestly the worst massage I've had. The staff at the front desk were nice but once I was taken upstairs to the massage rooms it all went downhill from there. Donna seemed annoyed and tired - I guess from having massage clients back to back. My legs, fee arms or abdomen were not massaged at all. All I got was a neck massage for 50 minutes - she talked to me the whole time ( not relaxing) and kept telling me what I should buy to relieve the neck and back pain. Unfortunately, I thought coming to this spa based on reviews was going to relieve some of that. I left the same way I came with no good experience. She kept staring at my sheet and asking "what else I wanted her to do"? She told me she couldn't do anything about my neck. She applied heating pads for 50 min. I responded to her in the softest voice "a whole body massage please" minutes later she ended with a " that concludes our time. It took everything out of me not to say anything. I had a rough week and I decided to leave a review instead. If you go here don't let Donna (older lady with glasses) do any massages as she is not knowledgeable and kept asking me what I wanted to have done. She was struggling and you could tell. I was told they had a special for full body of $80 when I called so I immediately made an appt to go straight there leaving work to relieve some stress pain but ended up leaving even more stressed. Aaah love this place... I usually go downstairs to get my nails and a pedicure done... four years running now.... but this time I was travelling to europe that evening and had not gottne my hair trimmed... last minute appointment with Tracy. She has given me a quick shampoo and blow dry before but never a cut (I am loyal to my hair stylist who knows my hair and has been curring it for 17 years now.. but I digress). All i had to do was tell Tracy I wanted a trim, layers, a blow dry and style that would last a 10 hr fight or at least pretend to last... and she was fabulous. She was observant.. she knew exactly how to style my hair based on how I walked in (hair parting and such), gave me perfect layers to bring back the fullness and volume in my hair, and gave me tips on products. I have friends who go to Spa Logic and they all rave about it. Def. a fan! read more

I am forever grateful to my friends who shared with me the fantastic gem of a human that is Vivian, a veteran nail technician at Spa Logic. Please hear me when I say that there is no person on the planet more critical of nail service that I am. I have had some of the best nail services, and some of the worst. So, I really rely on reviews and referrals. Which is how I ended up meeting Vivian. The friends who referred her still travel quite a ways just to see her because she is so wonderful. As a customer, I watch everything: sanitation, how polish is removed, how gel or SNS is applied, shaped and buffed, and whether there is careful attention paid to cuticles. Vivian pays such meticulous detail to each of these factors. I have been more than pleased with my gel and SNS manicures and also my pedicures. I recently went to Vivian after being away for a month, and my nails STILL looked good (grown out, but GOOD). If you're in the area, make an appointment with Vivian. You will not regret it. Cut was good, salon was clean, pretty annoyed with the extra fees and delays. Found out upon arrival that there's an extra fee for thick or long hair. Was told at the counter it's just a "small fee" and when I tried to ask how much, she just told me my stylist would let me know. Found out from my stylist that it's actually $20 which is not exactly a small fee on top of a haircut imo. Just wish I had known before. My stylist was sweet but was definitely rushing through my cut. I got sat down about 40 min after my reservation time due to "delays" so I guess she was trying to make up time. I have lived in DC for almost a decade and have tried different salons, but I was referred by a friend last year to see Mandy to get my nails done and I have never looked back! She is extremely knowledgeable, attentive to detail and perfection, always provides the best service and recommendations for flattering nail shapes and colors, and has quickly become like family to me. We had the BEST time here! A girlfriend and I purchased the spa Groupon deal for a facial, massage, and mani pedi. I highly recommend it. ARRIVAL/RECEPTION :::5 STARS::: Parking--ugh. I struggled to find a spot and arrived a few minutes late. The receptionist was so sweet, no sass/guilt trip, and I was immediately taken to my first appointment. FACIAL :::4.5 STARS::: Facial and microdermabrasion. The micro was an add on service and was done rather quickly. However, I do not feel that it was not effective. My facial was lovely. My esthetician was friendly, knowledgeable, asked good questions about my skincare routine, and provided great practical advice. Extractions- Painful. No pain, no gain. I was a baby about it. The room that I had my facial in was a great space! My facial took place at the top level, the room as spacious-- I never realized how much a space can enhance an experience. MASSAGE :::4 STARS::: Swedish massage Standard massage. The pressure could have been a little more. However, I could have also asked for a little more- I didn't. I wasn't too sure about how much English my masseuse spoke, but I also didn't attempt to talk. I could hear conversations and hallway noise... it was a slight distractions. However, the room was another great space. Spacious, not cramped, I really appreciate the dark decor and plush surroundings. MANI/PEDI :::4 STARS::: Who knew Spa Logic had such a robust nail salon in the basement?! There are plenty of colors to select from, tons of chairs, and the salon is busy. What was reassuring was that I noticed a number of patrons who appeared to be regulars. I was with a girlfriend and we requested to sit next to each other and the ladies were extremely accommodating. Salon space- A bit cramped, but still functional. When we were leaving, a regular suggested that I ask for footie bag with the oil for my pedicure. All I had to do was ask, and like magic I was given a bag and some oil. End result= perfect pedicure. CHECK OUT :::5 STARS::: The receptionist, with the mohawk, was a great first and last impression. When to Spa Logic for the first time yesterday and it was amazing. I got a Groupon deal for a 50 min message, facial, medí and pedi package. The message was excellent! The facial was amazing, only thing I suggest if you do get a facial to let them know if you have sensitive skin. I do, and we had two switch face masks because my skin was on fire. A honest miscommunication mistake on my part. However, my skin this morning feels soft and refreshed. Lastly, the medi and pedi was the icing on the cake. As a BLACK WOMAN, I felt so DISRESPECTED and UNDERVALUED at this business and I will tell you why... After returning home from receiving a spa package, I realized I didn't have my silver David Yurman necklace that I took off at the spa. So I called Spa Logic to inquire about my necklace. An employee answered the phone and told me IT WAS THERE and THEY WOULD HOLD IT for me at the front desk. Great I thought, but wait there's more. When I arrived, employees claimed IT WAS NOT THERE. Hmmm how could that have changed so quickly?! When I asked to speak to the manager (a white male w/ glasses & beard-- whose name I can't recall), he brushed me off! He made me feel like his time was too precious for me! Clearly my spending hundreds of dollars at this business, did not matter. Instead of speaking to me directly, the manager sent others to speak to me--which I find extremely rude and unprofessional. This was a serious matter and the manager wouldn't properly acknowledge me and address the situation. HOW RUDE! I assumed the business would provide excellent customer service and show some empathy and understanding. I understand that most spas and small business are not responsible for lost or damaged items. However, THEY ADMITTED to having my necklace in their possession and then changed the story and said they didn't. That's a PROBLEM! I was looking for acknowledgment and accountability that their staff admitted having something of mine and then lost it. Although some type of compensation or remedy wouldn't have replaced my necklace, it would've made me feel that they actually cared, were apologetic, and/or valued me as a customer. BUT NO! I DIDN'T RECEIVE ANYTHING! THEY COULDN'T (ACTUALLY WOULDN'T) DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AND TOLD ME TO LEAVE. I am an avid spa client. I get facials and massages regularly. But I WILL NEVER visit this spa again. I have NEVER received this type of chastisement from a business. As a black woman, it is important to me to receive services from businesses that don't put me in an angry black woman box, dismiss me, undermine me, and say I'm causing raucous. I was very passionate that day about being listened to and treated with respect. And this business FAILED to do that! read more

Kazim is AMAZING!!! I just wish I could give him more credit than he deserves only if not because of my finances. His communication was on point. He gives you options to pick how you like your hair done. He's got great sense of humor. Very open and talented guy. I LOVE the outcome of my hair. The only sad part that left me bitter is the price. I did my hair many times at mant hair salon and they are all roughly about the same price so I did not expect to spend anywhere over $200. Because I did not know I was given to Kazim who is a master stylist, more experienced, which cost more to get my hair done than any other stylist that are junior or starter. It cost me over my limit. Only if I were given the option to pick who to do my hair, I wouldn't have chosen Kazim knowing my finances. But once I am a bit more richer, I'd love to come back and have Kazim to do my hair again! read more

I had a couple issues to begin with concerning cleanliness. The chairs in the lobby are covered in hair and the water glasses in the front are on a tray that had hair on it. If it had been late in the day I may have understood. But my appointment was first thing in the morning. They should have thoroughly cleaned the night before. Although my stylist was 30 minutes late, the rest of the staff being super friendly and helpful, trying to accommodate me. I know this because three days after and my hair is naturally curly and unruly but because of the cut it is laying in place and not all over the Universe. Bad experience with the nail salon - I came in and was told there was no wait, but then had to wait while the employee who eventually did my nails was sitting right next to me playing on her phone! She apologized and said nobody told her I was waiting for a manicure... But I was RIGHT THERE. I got a gel manicure and it's been less than a day, and it is already peeling. My gels always last for at least two weeks, so that's disappointing. I also went here for a haircut with a Groupon a while ago. When I scheduled the appointment, they never asked me what my hair was like or what I wanted. When I arrived, my assigned hairdresser said she didn't feel comfortable working with short hair, so I had to wait until another employee became available. She did an OK job, but it grew out awkward and very uneven. The salon is beautiful, but the services leave much to be desired. Overall, I don't think I will be coming back here for any reason. 2 stars because they didn't cut my ears off or something awful like that. read more

For much of this time, I would just go to the nail salon via the entrance off 20th Street NW. I didn't realize for a long time that there were many levels - and every possible spa service - until I starting speaking with a general manager (Dalea) one evening. She was extremely hospitable, gave me a tour, and introduced me to others who could provide other services I was seeking. I now go to Spa Logic for everything - I love Nancy for hair (blowouts, cuts and highlights), Sara for massage and reflexology, and Kathy for facials. As a general manager too, Kathy does just about everything well! I have found their prices competitive. Most of all, I find it so helpful to be able to go to one place for a whole suite of services. read more

I booked a Groupon spa package for a 50-minute massage, signature facial, and regular mani-pedi. The latter half of the experience was excellent; the massage, so-so. Here's the breakdown: 5/5 Stars for Signature Facial & Mani-Pedi Kathy Luu did both my facial and my nail services. She was incredible! Best facial I've had in a long time. She paid careful attention to detail to my skin, and gave a heavenly massage. She even gave me extra accupressure on my sinuses because I was congested from allergies. The products smelled amazing, too. My skin feels so soft and fresh! The nail studio is in the basement of the spa and is a little crowded, but the pedicure chairs were super comfortable. They had a great selection of polish shades, too. Kathy was as meticulous with my nail services as she was with the facial. Kathy also gave me a discount and upgraded my nail service because I wasn't fully satisfied with my massage (see below). I really appreciated it and she has made a repeat customer out of me. 3/5 Stars for Deep Tissue Massage (50 min) I arrive at 10:01 for my 10 am appt. I was undressed and on the table by 10:10, but my therapist left the room and didn't return until 10:21. She abruptly entered and hadn't even turned the lights off before she was roughly rubbing my back with one hand, then digging in deep. I would analogize her style to that of a sous chef tenderizing a rump roast, but it definitely got my knots out. My back does feel great now. She short-changed me, though, as she finished at 11:00 exactly, even though started late. 1 star off because the massage table's face cradle was pretty uncomfortable (it was like a wooden horseshoe with a foam roll stuck on top), and another 1 for the therapist's apparent desire to finish as quickly as possible. Kathy made up for any negative and I highly recommend that everyone give this place a try. read more

I went in for a 50 minute Swedish massage today and had probably the strangest massage experience in my life. This was my first time at Spa Logic and I had heard really positive things from friends and coworkers. The customer service in setting up the appointment, and at the facility was great, which is why I am giving 2 stars instead of 1. However, I can't fathom that the therapist was a trained massage therapist. The entire massage consisted of a lot of lotion and oils rubbed around and hardly any actual massage. I was on edge the whole time and couldn't relax because I felt uncomfortable with the actions of my technician. I've had many massages over my life and this one certainly ranks as the worst. I'm disappointed because I really enjoyed the experience otherwise. read more

There are 3+ floors--the first floor is dedicated to nails, the second floor is dedicated to hair, and the upper floors are dedicated to body massages and facials. If you enter from Connecticut Avenue NW, you'll actually enter on the second floor. If you enter from 20th Street NW, you'll enter the English-style basement/first floor. I'd recommend making an appointment as the establishment seems to stay on the busier side. A short walk from the north entrance/exit to the Dupont Circle Metro, this salon offers a wide range of services at reasonable prices. I typically try to make it a full day experience with a mani/pedi, massage, and facial. It's a great way to find a slice of nirvana in the heart of DC. read more

I booked a manicure here. The salon has a lot of COVID precautions in place, if that is important to you. The technician was slow, but as she was careful with the nail shaping and filing, I was okay with that. The problem was the polish. As soon as she started to put it on in incredibly thick layers, i knew that this was not going to go well. And indeed, when i got home, my nail polish was full of BUBBLES. I paint my nails often myself and one of the primary rules is thin layers so they can dry properly and lay smooth. I will not be going back. read more

Live close by and this has been a reliable salon for spa pedicures and the occasional hair blow out for times I'm too lazy to wash my hair before a night out. Highlights: - Convenient salon hours. The salon closes at 8pm on weekdays. Super convenient for post-work mani/pedi sessions. - Excellent spa pedicure. I've had the "spa pedicure" at a few salons in DC and this salon offers the best one. Although most spa pedicures offer the same upgrades (scrub/exfoliation, paraffin treatment and scented lotion), Spa Logics version includes an amaaaaaazing 5 minute shoulder massage in addition to the foot massage. Most other spa salons do not include the back massage with the spa pedicure. - The massages. Their nail technicians have the BEST hand and foot massages when you get your mani/pedicure done. I've had a few different technicians and they've all been consistently amazing...maybe had just 1 technician who was slightly below than amazing. I've noticed other salons skimp or have technicians who are very inconsistent with massage techniques. I book pedicures here more frequently mainly because of the foot massage. Cons: -Watch out for their added "COVID fee" that they are still tacking onto the bill. They may have a sign somewhere about that fee but I don't recall seeing it or them giving me a heads up about it. Recommendations: Mandy is my favorite technician there. She always gives amazingggg massages and goes above and beyond so wanted to give her a shout out. read more

Anu knows how to do gel nails! I have had my fair share of manicures that were done with questionable technique at far pricier salons. Anu did an amazing job. She took her time and got each nail just right, not too thin, not too thick. There is nothing worse than a super thick gel nail that is done too far from the cuticle, or a gel manicure that is too thin, but I don't have to worry now that I've gone to Anu. I'll be going back to visit her for sure. The nail area downstairs is pretty no frills but things seemed clean. It could use an updating in terms of decor and it's pretty cramped but every technician I saw seemed very skilled. read more
