Worst waste of time and money I have EVER SPENT. Got a Groupon for a 50 minute reflexology appointment. This place defines reflexology as 50 minutes on feet. Just feet. How is that possible? I didn't even get my nails painted. I complained, the manager came on and told me that this is "what reflexology is". False. Often they massage your head, neck, shoulders, hands, etc. THIS WAS NOT THAT. My feet soaked for 2 minutes. Then the lady dried them off and massaged my feet. After five minutes she said "just feet today" and I was like um no? Her manager came in and told me I was wrong (im sorry what happened to customer is always right?) and I just finished the lackluster massage. She stopped 4 times (I was so bored of course I counted) and I had to shake my foot to remind her of the task ahead. Super disappointed. I wish I could get my money back. read more

I learned about this place through receiving a birthday gift. The "Spa Package" was sent to me from Groupon and I had 90 days to use it. My birthday was in February and decided to make an appointment for March 27. Making the appointment was relatively easy. I called but I think they may have been busy so I left my number and was called back around 30 minutes later. I drove there because I was running late to work and Metro just wasn't an option. Had I taken the Metro it would've been a much easier commute. My appointment was at 5 pm and it literally took me a hour and a half to drive from Fort Totten to DuPont area and find parking. Most of the parking in the area is 1 hour so I did a lot of looping until I happened to find a spot in a residential area. After the quick walk to the establishment, from my lucky parking spot, I was greeted quickly. I sat at the front for 2 minutes maximum before I was taken upstairs to get the facial/massage. My jacket was taken and hung up as well as offered a beverage to drink. I opted for water as I'm not a drinker. I started with the Facial, which was given by Sayde. She was a riot and since I'm not a "girly girl" she made me feel very comfortable. I don't wear make up, except for the occasional Chapstick in the morning so I really had no clue what was going to be involved. The only downfall was the "extraction" of the blackheads on my nose, forehead and cheeks and chin. That was some horrible pain, but then again I have a low tolerance for pain. However, it was more than worth it since there was a big difference in my face. I told her we should've taken before and after photos to so the difference. I was extremely pleased with my very first Facial ever. Next, I had a massage from Jill. I was a bit confused when I walked in the room and there was a man already in there getting a massage. My SO and I have gotten a few massages over the past few months and all of them required removing clothing. I like the massage fine, however, I think it was rather restricting to be clothed. I was massaged from the scalp to my feet. I normally pass out with massages but this one I was fully awake. I would've preferred a massage where I wasn't in the same room as a random stranger and to be clothed but other than that Jill did a good job with massage and was accommodating. As a side note I wouldn't get the neck/scalp massage if you had a rare perfect twistout, like I did, it completely was in disarray. I went from the third floor to the bottom level where I received a pedicure. This also was a quick transition and the wait time was merely me finding a color that I would like before getting in the chair. Her name was Lared and she smiled a lot and attempted to have small talk. My pedicure was wonderful none of that upselling like some places try to do while you're in the chair. Just a good old fashioned detailed pedicure. This also included a leg massage and hot towel wrap. Lared also gave me a manicure and opted to use the same color as my pedi. This was another first for me since I haven't ever polished my own nails but I have gotten overlays and acrylic before. I was actually extremely pleased with both the manicure and pedicure until recently. I went in on Friday by Sunday there were cracks and chips with my manicure and by today, Tuesday, there are actual flakes missing. I do not have a labor intensive job nor have I done anything differently than my regular routine. However, it's rather disappointing to have chipped and flaked polish 2-4 days after getting them done. As for time, If you're getting the "Spa Package" make sure you allot a minimum of 3 hours. I went in at 5 pm and walked out 8:30 - 8:45 pm. Overall it was a pretty good experience. I know the prices may seem shocking but the experience and environment is worth it in the end. I may come back in the future for the Facial if Sayde is available but I'll probably pass on the massage and manicure/pedicure and just opt for a regular neighborhood nail salon. read more

I've been going to Spa Logic for several months to have my nails done. The staff is professional and friendly - and I have consistently had a good experience with gel manis/pedis. There is a price break Monday-Wednesday, so I usually try to go early in the week. I decided to treat myself today to a 50 minute reflexology treatment with SARAH. She was knowledgeable, professional, and was able to get the kinks out of my arms, hands, feet, and lower legs. So good in fact that I asked her if she had an opening for a full body deep tissue massage. What followed was transformative. Sarah has a VERY strong style, coupled with great communication ("how do you feel"? "is that ok"?). In addition, she was very intuitive and knew when to back off, then go back into deep tissue work. She took the time to talk with me about color for my hair and educated me on how to maintain my color. We selected a rich dark brown/violet tone for my hair and it came out AMAZING!! She was totally professional and had me in and out of the salon in a timely manner. I would recommend her to friends, family, and strangers! I am usually skeptical about such deals as I know usually service lacks when you pay less but this place had 4.5 stars so I went for it We both had the package which included an acupressure / reflexology massage, a European facial, and a mani pedi + complimentary glass of wine. I will explain my rating below. First : booking the appointment was so difficult. It shouldn't be but it was. We had to book 2 months ahead and the person who answers the phone lacks basic customer communication skills. Second: No parking so you have to park on the street and add money every 2 hours which is not convenient when your are trying to relax. Now on to the services: European facial was basic and more like an express facial. Per the site it's supposed to be 50 mins, but it seemed rushed and didn't last that long and it was quick. The massage was horrible. The lady who did my massage didn't seem like she knew what she was doing at all. The acupressure massage which was supposed to last 30 mins lasted about 23 minutes, she basically rubbed me dry with no oil no lotion and just used her elbows. I was happy it was over . The reflexology massage which was also 30 mins was ok it did last the full 30 mins but it was mediocre to say the least. The meni pedi was ok a little rushed also but no horrible. A friend recommended Shawnna and I was lucky to get in the day before I went out of town for my aunt's birthday, which was the day before the 4th of July. She was attentive and easy to talk to, and most importantly gave me a great cut. While I did get a discount, Spa Logic is a bit pricey for me to come here regularly. Since I don't live in the Dupont area and found a salon on K St. that charges half of what I paid at Spa Logic for a cut, I wouldn't go out of my way to come back for routine cuts. I went here on Thursday night for a dermaplane treatment. I forget my esthetician's name but when I booked they said she specializes in the treatment. I was excited when I found out they offered a dermaplane only treatment as I like to do this every month and I wanted to love my treatment that night so I'd have a go to spot. I have pretty easy hair-but the though part is I don't really like to do much to it-so a good cut is key. Zheng talked to me about my hair, and my cut fits my face well. I booked a spa package on groupon and immediately when I called the girl said we have a lot of walk ins so we don't have many openings for spa package on weekends. Which Is fine, however once I booked and came in I had a fantastic facial. Once that was done however the comfort of the experience died. I purchased a spa package with wine and the wine never was offered. In the waiting area I found wine however there was no way to open it. When looking for a cork next to wine and wine glasses discovered that both doors on wall table were broken. Worst of all during my pedicure a woman came in yelling about her appointment with the tech working on my pedi. She made me feel really uncomfortable sitting in my chair with the person she was supposed to have an appointment with. I understand mistakes happen but the manager was consulted and she advised the nail tech to leave me in the middle and take her. I got another tech who had no idea what I wanted done and he did my manicure too. He also forgot to take off my current nail polish. This was a mess. Never go there. Pretty awful experience. If I could give negative stars i would. I purchased the spa pedi mani package. My nails have chipped in less than 24 hours. The edges are not painted at all. The woman doing my nails was constantly distracted by other customers. She was in a hurry even though it was a weekday morning. I then got an eyebrow wax. Worst mistake ever. Umm...I was very clear that I didn't want shaping, only a clean up and wanted to keep them close in the center. Not only was way too much taken off but my face was burnt. See the pic. I just called to book an appointment and the lady who answered was rude and as soon as I told her I'd be using a groupon, she said absolutely no availability. I then said if I came in to get a massage, mani/pedi, waxing, could I get in -- she put me on hold and I heard her screaming in the background "we're only not booking groupon massages, right?" I then said, so I can only book with you if I'm paying full price, instead of using my groupon gift? She told me yes. Needless to say, I'm not coming here. First off, I would suggest getting someone to answer the phones that's a bit more friendly and secondly, I don't think you can pick and choose customers and apt times based on how they're paying for the service. Holy Crap!!! This is my new one-stop-shop spa. This place is like they plucked all of the pleasant workers from all of the nail shops/spas in town and gently placed them here and gave them even more customer service training! I usually just stalk yelp reviews and don't leave any. However, this place was definitely yelp worthy!! (Thank you previous yelpers for helping me to select this place). I am afraid that once I post and tell all my friends I will never be able to score an appointment. LOL Brief Summary of Visit: I purchased a spa package on Groupon (they actually had the same deal in-store). $149 for facial, 75 MINUTE massage AND mani/pedi! Who does that?! Bless them. Facial - Lana is the sweetest little skin fairy. She was so great with my numerous extractions and gave me great advice for my skin. Massage - Jin....she is an angel. A strong-handed angel. Do not expect a relaxing massage. Accupressure is a very rigorous modality. It is a healing massage (read: kneading, stretching, aligning). That is exactly what it did, she healed me. (Note: She asked if I wanted deep tissue and I said no, so after the massage I had I am afraid of what deep tissue would have been!). I will be sending my bf to her (He is 6'3, 300lbs). Mani/Pedi - Lee is the cutest little thing! She was very precise and patient. I messed up my nails TWICE! I braced myself for the scolding that usually comes with wrecking their work, nope. Just a smile and quick fix. (Note: the free flowing wine and mimosas were an awesome value add as well!) AWWWWEEESOOMME place. I was so relaxed I slept for 3 HOURS when I got home. Please note that this review focuses on the mani/pedi portion of Spa Logic. Spa Logic is actually a hair/waxing/massage combo in addition, but I've never tried those services. For what it's worth, this appears to be the best place for a manicure and pedicure in the Dupont Circle area. I've been to both here and Mimosa, and this place is significantly better. They have professional UV drying machines (Mimosa just has you sit and your nails airdry) and this place also uses new tools vs. Mimosa where they have them just sitting in some sort of alcohol. It's a bit pricier than what I'm used to, which is why I only gave it 4 stars. The service is good though and it's probably on par with the prices for the area. Sometimes there is a wait, but usually not that long. They also have plenty of colors! read more

She did such an amazing job on Suzies hair:) Shawanna took her boring box dyed hair and made amazing shiny golden locks, with including a free deep conditioning treatment. My daughter walked home from the salon and this amazing hair stylist even offered to show her which direct way to go. This salon was overall amazing and they absolutely now how to treat their customers:) My daughter definitely enjoyed her experience there more than any other hair salon, I suggest if you're looking for amazing service, decent prices, and silky perfect hair, here is the place to go because it was truly phenomenal!! I have lived in the Dupont are for four years, and haven't yet found a quality, affordable (for D.C. anyway) hair cut. I have very long hair and am always looking for a way to add lift and bounce to it. One length styles aren't my thing and I usually leave my hair cuts almost satisfied but wanting more. I've tried Luna's on P Street, Glynn Jones, and a few others in the area. I called Spa Logic this morning and was able to get an appointment on the same day which was nice. When I decide that I want a hair cut, I feel so much better if I get it done sooner rather than later. I booked an appointment with MyLy. First of all, my shampoo was great. The scalp massage was amazing. MyLy listened to what I wanted and then showed me a few more styles on her tablet. We were able to agree on the general direction of my cut. She worked with lots of confidence and told me that doing long layered hairstyles are her favorite styles to do and I have to say this was the best haircut I've ever gotten with my hair at this length. For $5 extra, I got an amazing (and I'm talking beautiful goddess/mermaid hair amazing!) style/blowout. I will be coming back and will be seeking out MyLy for whenever I need a style for a special occasion. If you have long hair and want a beautiful cut, I would definitely recommend her. read more

Evidently I am the millionth recent DC transplant to find Spa Logic, and thank you all for pointing me in the right direction. I had been in desperate need of a haircut (the last one was July...whoops?) and I called Spa Logic on a Tuesday to make an appointment and was able to get an appointment for Friday. Eureka! Since all the reviews seemed great, I said I didn't have a preference on a stylist, and they scheduled me with Myly. I was ten minutes late (I'm so sorry Myly!) and she was waiting for me when I got there. She asked what I was doing, and I explained that I wanted to keep the length (I'm trying to grow it out) but I wanted more of a style, and gave Jennifer Aniston circa-now and Kate Middleton as examples. It seemed like she understood and went to work. I became a little concerned because she asked me if I wanted anything to drink and I said I was fine, and then she asked me the same question thirty seconds later. I could've chalked this up to her not hearing me properly, except it happened again five minutes later when she asked where I lived. I had the sinking feeling that I was going to walk out of there looking like Adam Levine, since there clearly seemed to be a communication issue. She never reached for the clippers, so I hoped for the best. I had to ask for a shampoo, which was weird too. I came in with wet hair and explained that I had only rinsed it, and not shampooed it that morning, since I knew I was getting my hair done. Maybe I should've been more clear? I don't know...but Myly reached for the blow dryer before I had been shampooed and I had to stop her. My hair still thinks I'm 14 years old and I cannot go a day without proper cleansing. I am so so so so glad I asked for a shampoo. I have no idea what the shampooer's name is, but she is amazing and needs a raise. The neck massage she gave me was outrageous. I'd go back and pay the same amount for just ten minutes of that massage. Yikes. I almost fell asleep and it maybe lasted 45 seconds. The hair cut ended up being fantastic. Myly blow dried it and styled it and curled it and I walked out feeling like a princess. I showed my manager and she said I had 'angel hair'. I'm fairly inept when it comes to hair, so I'll probably never be able to recreate that magic (though I did buy a round brush and gave it my best shot tonight...a former hair stylist friend tells me I need to try foam rollers...but those just intimidate me). Luckily the cut looks great still with just my standard blow-and-go routine. For the price, it's a great salon and product with pretty talented stylists. I just wish I had been able to communicate better with Myly. I'll definitely be back though! read more

I have been going to Shawanna Glass for almost a year now. She is fantastic! I have long, medium brown, curly hair and usually get a long, layered cut and a chocolate brown all over color. Shawanna always cuts my hair the right length, and styles it exactly the way I want. She listens to what I want and always delivers. I have been meaning to write a review, and need to today because I am soo excited about my hair. I decided I wanted to go a little lighter for the summer but had some reservations (I used to highlight my hair blond, and did a lot of damage). Shawanna and I discussed the balayage process, and decided that would be the best way to achieve the sun kissed look I want without going to blond. She did an awesome job today! I have some beautiful caramel tones woven into my darker color. As always my blow dry looks amazing, and could not be happier. Definitely try Spa Logic for haircuts. I don't get mani/pedis often because they're expensive and that nail drying window of time always makes me nervous - is it really dry when the fans turned off? I really want to like this place - 5 stars for service hospitality, and attentiveness. But at the end of the day, I'm here for polished, fabulous nails. After my manicure, as I lifted my hand from retrieving my wallet, I saw 5 smudged nails. My manicurist was immediately on it; so I took extra precaution drying the nails again, putting it under the fan twice as long as requested. As I walk to the metro, and retrieve my card carefully, I saw another smudged, damned nail. Now I have to pay extra $$ somewhere else to get it fixed. read more

I've had my hair cut at Spa Logic on two different occasions, and both time left very satisfied - once with an appointment and once as a walk in. Quick, easy trim, nice blow out. So when it came time to get my hair done for my wedding I thought to go there. If you've ever gotten married or been in a bridal party, you know that the wedding business is basically extortion. You want to get your hair done? It cost X amount, oh, it's for a wedding? it's 2x as much. Oh you're the bride? It's 3x as much and you have to pay for a trial. That's not the life I'm about, I wanted something simple, hair down, curled, and simple makeup. I walked in, explained what I needed, that I had 5 other women who wanted to get something done (hair, nails and/or makeup) but was not interested in a trial, or anything over the top. It was incredibly refreshing that they heard me, told me there was the OPTION of a trial, and ranges for hair/makeup, but that I could choose, and do something simple if i wanted, and pay normal prices. I've called back several times to make changes to the appointment (bumped it up an hour, added people etc) and they have been lovely. Special thanks to Maya, who was there when I made the initial appointment and has been helpful every time I've made a change to the appointment or had a question. My appointment is this Saturday, I'll upload pics and update the post for those who might want to get their hair and makeup done there as well! I'm Asian and and am always very skeptical about going to a new salon because Asian hair is hard to cut and color just right!!! Trust me, I've had my hair turn bright orange and brassy before..you've gotta get it just right. I was referred to Tracy and she was the best hairstylist I've ever had!! She was so sweet and took the time to listen to exactly what I wanted in my price range and she went over several different options that could work. My previous hair color was growing out and looked pretty terrible, but Tracy used a couple techniques to tone down my previous color and bring out natural highlights. I LOVE the result and I didn't realize how bad my hair looked until afterwards when comparing pictures. Tracy knows what she's doing and I will gladly recommend her to anyone! I don't know how she does it but she finds every knot, every sore muscle & every place that needs her special touch. I've had massages other places, other states & foreign countries. DuPont Nails is my go-to manicure/pedicure spot - and had heard great things about the hair salon upstairs. Yesterday I stopped in to see about making an appointment to get highlights- and much to my surprise, they were able to get me in immediately! The new Thomas was my stylist - and did a great job. I have curly brown hair, and he was able to get to get the honey/blonde highlights to look pretty natural. Now my hair is ready for summer too! He had a top notch consultation to be sure he understood what I wanted - and walked me through the color choices he was going to use. The stylist assistants were also top notch - brushing and shampooing my hair is sometimes a scene. The wine is the cherry on top. read more

I followed Shawanna to Spa Logic, which is a lovely salon on Connecticut Avenue. The salon is clean, well ventilated, and offers reasonable prices for DC. Shawanna is my favorite hair stylist in DC! I have been going to her for 3 years now after a recommendation from a close friend. Not only does she remember where I like to part my hair and how I like it cut, she also remembers stories I tell her and follows up to ask about my life. I bought a Groupon for a 50 minute deep tissue massage because I was a lot of pain from a combination of over-exercise, work from home fatigue, and sleeping on my neck wrong. Then I met Sarah. She noticed right away which side was in pain, which speaks volumes about her expertise and experience as a masseuse. She comes from a medical masseuse background, explained the difference between a Swedish and a deep tissue, and was upfront about the soreness I would feel the next morning (which is a good sign!). I got a Groupon deal for a deep tissue massage and booked one easily on the phone with Sarah. They had a lot of times available. When I showed up, she apologized and said that it would be a few minutes which was not a big deal. I still got the full time. We discussed my areas of concern and she listened and continually asked for feedback during the massage. My body was a mess and she did a good job of working out the knots and I felt a lot better when I left. I would go back to see her again and would recommend her to anyone who is training for something (i.e. a half marathon). My only complaint is the time went by too quickly. read more

Mike rocks my toes! This is the second DC trip I have gotten lucky and had him as my stylist, he is detailed, soft and just all around nice guy too. You get sea salt scrub with your Pedicure and they almost give you a mini foot acupressure session, so nice, not the slap your leg "massage" you get at some nail salons. Facials with Lana and massages with Jin are sublime bliss at this little gem in DuPont Circle....but my addiction is Garrett! He is extraordinary and once you start getting color/haircuts/or blow drys from him you will want to come more and more often. He leaves my very thick, wavy, hard to control hair magazine perfect! I've been going to Spa Logic since they opened and I like the vibe and friendly yet chill environment there. Everyone is friendly. I get my hair cut and colored by Mary Tsiolis who was recommended to me by a friend. Though I travel 1.5 hours EACH WAY to get there and back, it's worth it. Mary understands my hair, my face and body geometry, what my hair is and isn't capable of doing and she gives me the best cut and styling I've ever had. Color too. I wear little make up and jewelry and my hair cut is an important part of my overall look, especially as I don't style it with heat or chemicals. Recently, I got a pedicure with Izzy in the nail salon below and, hands down -- or maybe I should say "feet down" -- it was the best pedicure I've ever received. She was so attentive, detailed and pleasant. Combined with Mary's cut above, Izzy's pedicures and their new wellness/massage/reflexology place above, I think I might be coming there for longer and longer appointments. #HighlyRecommended. read more
