My boyfriend and I visited Spa Logic after it had been recommended to us by a few friends. We'd been going to Mimosa Salon (across the street) for several years and decided to change it up a bit. We don't regret it. Upon entry, the staff greeted us kindly and guided us downstairs to get a manicure/pedicure. The downstairs staff was friendly and eager to fulfill our needs. We signed in, were guided to our massage chairs (great touch), and received a basic manicure/pedicure. Providing drinks (soda, water, red/white wine) is a wonderful luxury and definitely adds to the pampering ambiance. My nail technician was good, but in comparison to Mimosa Salon, the massage portion of the experience was lacking (maybe asking too much, given we only asked for the basic service). My boyfriend's nails were cut a little too short and cuticles trimmed back a little too much (he bled a bit). The space seems much nicer than Mimosa Salon, where I often feel like a large animal being herded through areas without enough clearance. At Spa Logic, the furniture is spaced nicely and the atmosphere feels much airier. Overall, I really enjoyed Spa Logic and will definitely visit it again. I really enjoyed my experience here the massage was excellent Sarah mad my back feel like soft whipped butter when she was through. She stretched my muscles in my shoulders which no one has ever done before. I also came in for a manicure and pedicure it was lovely Mrs Lee did a wonderful job my nails look great. I had a very bad experience here. I had the 50 minute facial and there were a few bad red flags. I wasn't asked about my skin (issues, things I wanted to pinpoint or if I had sensitive skin). While my face was being steamed, the lady working went into the attached bathroom and was making phone calls -- so the opposite of relaxing. I could also hear people outside the spa room. The music was also skipping. In my experience, facials also included some basic massaging, which was not there. It felt rushed, was definitely under 50 minutes and it did not feel attentive in the slightest. Very bad and odd. I will not be back. read more

I've gone to Spa Logic a few times now for mani-pedis. The nail technicians always do a wonderful job and are incredibly nice. My nails aren't the greatest -- I don't have them done regularly, and my cuticles and heels usually need some major work -- but I don't feel embarrassed here. I also find that the prices are reasonable for DC. I recommend it! The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is for the scheduling process. The front desk staff are friendly when I'm there in person; however, there's no way to make an appointment online, and whenever I call it's a bit stressful. Each time I've spoken with someone, I can't even get the appointment details out -- time, date, service, etc. -- before I'm being spoken over and rushed off the phone. If they're only going to accept appointments over the phone, it would be better if I could have them repeat the details back to me so I can confirm that they're correct. read more

When I walked in the salon, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality. I immediately was offered my choice of wine or water to help me feel at home, and really enjoyed diving into a wide selection of magazines! Thomas always asks if I have anything in mind in terms of color and cut, and I appreciate this question because sometimes I have thought about what I'd like to do next. And, sometimes, I trust him to tell him to do whatever he wants! Thomas specializes in color complexity and applies both highlights and color with precision and skill. Over to the hair washing, I am a major fan of the footrests for the hairwashing chairs! So many times, these chairs are not comfortable because your posture is poor without your feet raised level with your torso. These footrests really improve your posture and overall experience. Then, get ready for the best hair washing and scalp massage in the ENTIRE WORLD! Carlos is simply amazing, and when you come out of a near comatose dream land from his scalp and neck massage you believe that all must be right with the world. :-) My current haircut is the perfect blend of style and convenience for me! I love it, and trust Thomas completely since he created it precisely for me! My wife was going to get her nails done at another place but did not have a reservation. They were not able to take her so she walked into Spa Logic. Immediately she fell in love with the place. Since then, I have also started going for hair cuts. And my wife who is trying to recover her curliness is working with Garrett. Always enjoy the place. They are friendly, work with me, and even provide a little wine to help pass the time away. I am not particular to a specific stylist and have tried several. In general i find them all to be competent. Really have nothing bad to say. She gave me back layers (I cut off 8+ inches for a bob-like hairdo) so that my hair would fall into a more rounded shape. She cut and re-adjusted my bangs 3+ times so that they looked just right. Got an AWESOME cut and color from Shawanna, who I used to go to years ago when she was at another salon (I was thrilled to find out she is now at Spa Logic!) The staff there is very friendly and will help you feel comfortable and pampered, even on a very busy Saturday. Prices for cut and color are on the lower end of the cost spectrum here in DC, so I was very happy to find a place where I didn't have to pay an arm and a leg to get a quality 'do. Based upon my coloring experiences in NYC and DC, Charles is the most amazing and talented colorist I have had so far! Due to some issues with my coloring a few hours earlier, I ended up with odd-looking copper hair and needed desperate fixing. Charles was able to work a MIRACLE and get it to the color I originally wanted by combining multiple coloring processes. (Balayage pro!) He's extremely knowledgeable about the color process and will explain to you, step-by-step, what his recommendations are. It's obvious that he has extensive experience in coloring. And lastly, Charles is incredibly entertaining, fabulous to chat with, and will give you amazing restaurant recommendations in the area. So thank you, Charles, for fixing my hair before my birthday festivities! As for haircuts, Myly is my go-to girl. I've received a great haircut from her each time I've gone. She gives great advice on what kind of cut she thinks would look best with your face. I swear she could cut hair with her eyes closed if she wanted - it's as if she can feel where to cut your hair with her hands. If you're ever in need of a blowout, Myly is great at that as well! After each haircut/blowout, my hair always looks much more fresh and voluminous so kudos, Myly, for always working your magic! I've also had balayage done by Myly and that turned out really nice as well! But best of all, Myly is a huge sweetheart, will always remember your name and give you a hug, and can give you recommendations on where to hear live music (jazz, in particular). Spa Logic isn't one of the most chic/posh salons in the area but everyone is so extremely friendly and they have fair prices for the service that you receive. (You also get mimosas and tea, so who can complain?) And if there's ever a mistake made, they're always more than willing to work around your schedule to fix it and be judicious in the pricing. My go-to stylist for many, many years is Shawanna Glass -- I've been following her everywhere and now to Spa Logic. Hooray! The new salon is in a terrific, convenient spot in north Dupont Circle. Very spiffy, inviting, and contemporary space. I especially appreciated the little foot rest at the shampoo stations, since I'm vertically challenged (short) and those keep me from sliding down the seat. Those small touches are nice. As always, Shawanna is professional, courteous and knows her stuff. Always a good quality experience. While I've had the same hair style for years (it just works), she never pressures me into doing anything that I'm not ready to try. She takes her time finding out what I want done with my hair and never lets me down. She never overbooks. I usually get my hair done during lunchtime so my time is limited - I never have to wait. She takes me immediately upon arrival. I just can't say enough great things about Shawna. Spa Logic is a very nice salon that is modern and clean and has reasonable prices. I called in earlier today to schedule a massage, he was so rude and got an attitude at a certain point in the conversation, he seemed annoyed that I asked questions?? I normally do not write many reviews but I received the absolute worst customer service here today. I spoke to someone who was apparently the manager named Michael. He was just so unprofessional, rude, and unhelpful. I have never experienced this type of attitude. He interrupted me multiple times and his tone while speaking to me was nasty. I booked through class pass and wanted to use the same technician that I always go to when I come to Spa Logic. He told me that I cant because I booked through class pass, I would have to pay regular prices to choose the technician I want. I have been coming here religiously for over a year now and i've never had an issue, why cant I use the technician that I like if she is available? It just doesn't make sense. More than that it was his whole attitude and demeanor towards me, when we got off the phone I told him that its never been an issue. He responded with, "that's your opinion and i'm sorry you feel that way". I've been in customer service my whole life and this is most definitely not how you speak to or treat a loyal customer. I have been going to spa logic for a few years for nails and standard haircuts. Until recently everything always went fine (with the exception of one exceptionally rude receptionist). But I went in and asked for a color glossto make my hair just a bit deeper red for the summer (I'm a natural red head). It's been a three month long disaster. I ended up with nearly black hair. When I finally went back and asked to have it fixed, it was a horrible. The stylist asked what *I* had done to my hair, not recognizing her own work. I had to go in twice, at one point my hair was bright orange at the roots. When I finally gave up it was three different colors. It was awful. Colleagues asked me what had happened. It's been a devastating waste of time and so much money and I'll never go back for a hair service again. I will give it two stars because their masseuse and nails folks are good and also will commend them that after seeing the review they have offered to make amends for this situation. read more

This was the absolute worst Brazilian wax experience I've ever had. When I arrived the technician wasn't there yet, so I had to wait a bit...ofcourse this was no problem. The wax lady came in and introduced herself and showed me to the room. The wax warmer was rusted and already had wax in it, it was also not covered. The women asked to cleanup my eyebrows which I agreed to, little did I know that she would end up fu**ing my brows up beyond repair. Let's just say I look scared. She then proceeded to do my wax, she used gloves for the first couple of strips and then she removed her gloves to check something on her phone. She then proceeded to finish the wax after and when I looked up after 5 mins I realized she never put her gloves back on and her hands were just on my bare VAGINA. I was shocked. I've had a Brazilian wax done before however where I went that last time was so much more professional and sanitary. I still have hair left over on my pelvis and had to point out areas to her that still had hair because SHE COULDN'T SEE THEM... absolute bs. She finally showed me my brows and it took everything in me to not cry. I told her and the receptionist in a respectful manner that I wasn't paying for this. It was a horrible experience also this was the most painful wax I'd ever experienced. I absolutely do not recommend this place for waxing or any spa services...absolutely gross. read more

I recently came to Spa Logic for a groupon package I got for Christmas that included facial, massage, mani + pedi. The facial by Sadie was super relaxing, and my skin was glowing afterwards. Sadie was very knowledgable about the products and took the time to explain each step of the facial. I opted for the swedish massage (over the deep-tissue) and it completely de-stressed me, I left feeling extremely calm and rested. Sara, the masseuse was excellent--she made sure I was comfortable with the pressure since it's been a few years since my last massage. Both rooms were clean, quiet, and zen. The only reason I knocked off a star was due to the hectic space during the mani/pedi. Very tight, crowded, kept getting bumped into. It was the complete opposite of the massage and facial atmosphere, which was on a different floor of the spa. My mani/pedi came out good, just not the experience I expected. read more

I was visiting DC on Memorial Day and decided on an impromptu haircut. Best decision I've made in a while. Zhen cut my chin length hair into an undercut and I have to honestly say, this is one of the best haircuts I've received in a while. I love it! Spa Logic was an amazing experience from start to finish. I was able to call and book a same day appointment. Although the previous session went late and I had to wait around 15 minutes later than my booked time, Joanna and the front desk staff came to check on me often and assured me that my session would last the full time I paid for. I was also offered red wine while I waited. The reflexology was very relaxing. Case in point, it's in a communal room and the lady next to me was definitely started snoring around half an hour into her appointment. I treat myself to the spa for my birthday. This year I decided to go to this location so used a Groupon for a spa package a massage, facial, mani & pedi. The building and decor are beautiful! I arrived at 12:22 PM for a 1 PM appointment and was told that I was "way early." It was raining and the parking in DuPont Circle can be terrible. The receptionist had a bad attitude & was arguing with one of her colleagues. The masseuse rolled around on a squeaky stool and kept bumping into the massage bed during the massage. I had to carry my things with me from place to place. All the facial products had a stinging sensation. I was not told anything about my skin or given product recommendations. The nail salon was like any other nail shop. The manicurist was nice. Lesson: Spend the money and go to a real spa. read more
