Got a groupon for a spa package(mani, pedi, massage, facial). I would have to say it was average. I had a kink in my back which i mentioned to the masseuse and she did work on it a little but not to my liking in the 50 min provided. Facial was too rough because i ended up with 3 little scabs on my face which she supposedly gave me while attacking some old whiteheads...go figure. Mani & pedi was fine at the moment but my gel mani only lasted me a week and now i have to get it done again. Overall, they were polite and nice therefore my 3 stars. I often come to Spa Logic for my nails (best gel manicure in DC) but I had never come for my hair until recently. If you have curly hair then you need Garret as your stylist. He understands how to shape each individual curl, how to apply highlights in a way that accentuates each curl while still looking natural, and he will never cut too much off (every curly girl's worst nightmare--hello shrinkage!) I am so happy with the results of my cut and color that I will never let anyone else do my hair again. Garret is a true professional, a great conversationalist, and a genuine breath of fresh air. I love Spa Logic it is always so clean, so well staffed, and it truly is the best one stop shop for all of your beauty needs in DC. I was Queen for a day :) I called several days before my birthday to see if there were any appointments left (for a Sunday), and I was expertly and pleasantly assisted by a sweet lady at the front desk. I told her that I was considering purchasing the Groupon special, and she just gave me the special right there in house. She got me in for the time slot I wanted and even threw in an extra glass of wine! I ended up being late even though I left an hour early due to my novice driving skills in the District and relentlessly stalking parking spaces (free on Sunday), but they were extremely accommodating and professional throughout the entire experience. I even got a free nail polish and lip balm towards the end. My birthday started off rough, but Spa Logic managed to make it one I'll enjoy remembering. Thanks to the ladies there! Just finished the spa day deal at Spa Logic. The facial was out of this world.... So relaxing. The massage was excellent as well, although it's not Swedish... It's acupressure and reflexology. Also comes with mani/pedi... Although I didn't see the real difference between the signature pedi and a regular one. I think it's just an additional scrub. It was a lovely 3 hours of pure relaxation. Everyone was super friendly, the services great (more on that later) and the place is very new upstairs. I had a facial with Sedi, who is FANTASTIC. She used to be at Nival in Chevy Chase but she was really friendly and her organic facial was fantastic. I ended up purchasing a 3pack facial deal afterwards. My accupressure massage with Monica was great also. I'm generally more of a deep tissue person but she was really attentive to areas i pointed out, especially on the calves and lower back area. Lastly, I had Lee in the downstairs space, still known as Dupont Nails, and she was friendly and did a great french manicure. Took my girlfriend here for a spa day. I had found a groupon and thought this would be perfect. We got there and they said they didn't have us scheduled until a later time. I showed them the confirmation text message and the front desk still made it seem like it was our fault. The mani and pedis were average. The facial was amazing, but the massage was nothing like I had before. You keep your clothes on, and they give your feet a bath and give you a nice foot rub, but not what I was expecting. The middle floor and top floors look newly remodeled and very relaxing and zen, but the bottom floor was cold and needs some updates. It didn't even feel like you were in the same place. read more

I've been going to Spa Logic since I moved to DC in August of last year. First I went for a basic trim which I was very satisfied with. On that same day I noticed they offered gel manicures at a really reasonable price and got one! Since then my roommate and I have gone pretty regularaly for mani/pedis. Recently I purchased a Groupon for a haricut and blowout and had a GREAT experience with Grace! The products she used on my hair were awesome and she gave me a great cut. I've never had layers before and she suggested it would be good to give me some style and I am so happy with what she did! She also taught me how to blowdry my hair using the brush she was using, which I've never been able to do successfully. TL;DR: at least it ended up only being $30 with my check-in. I came here at the last minute for a blowout because I had a holiday party later in the evening and everywhere was booked. My stylist was Alex, who was very kind and cheerful. He asked me how I wanted my hair; since my hair is shoulder length and frizzy, I told him straight but with lots of volume, and he asked me whether I wanted the ends flipped in or out. I repeated myself and said I wanted it straight, and he smiled and nodded. The wash was fine, the shampoo was unremarkable, and then Alex took me back to his chair for the blowdry. During the entire blowout, he had me turned away from the mirror, so I had no idea what he was actually doing. I hoped that he was doing a good job and kept trying to give him hints by turning to look at my hair in the mirror. When he finally turned me around, I was disappointed; unlike the sleek look I had imagined, he did exactly one of the two styles he had described (or maybe was capable of doing) in the beginning - my ends were flipped under and looked a lot like a helmet. It was sleek and had lots of body, but the shape was not what I had wanted. I'll give them points for being clean and for everyone having a great attitude, but it wasn't the best blowout I've had bc the style was pretty dated. read more

My best friend and I booked our full spa package on Saturday for Monday as a birthday treat for ourselves. We found parking quickly. The Manager greeted us as we walked in and we went right up and began our FACIAL and MASSAGE. The aesthetician that did our facials was PHENOMENAL and very knowledgeable. We had different massage therapists and we both were happy with them. Then we went down stairs and got the SPA PEDICURE and MANICURE which was well worth every penny!! We spent about 4 hours there and the ladies even fed the parking meter for us so we didn't have to interrupt our day. The entire place is decorated immaculate and the ambiance is perfectly set up for relaxation. We were very impressed by everything and will be making a habit of going there. read more

I was really excited that there was a salon with such great reviews in my neighborhood -- and then sooo disappointed when I tried it and had a bad experience. First, I had a basic question about haircuts which I tried to ask over the phone, but the receptionist insisted I needed to come in for a consultation. Then I went and saw Mona, who said she totally understood and supported what I wanted (piecey layers in my long hair, with a trim of not more than 2" off the bottom). I brought pictures that we discussed, and I thought we were on the same page. But then she gave me neither the style nor the length I asked for! She said, "Look, I cut just 2 inches" -- and showed me a lock of hair that was easily 4-5 inches long. She then showed me on her hand how big she thought 2 inches was (way too big), and I found myself saying, "Inches are actually a standard unit of measurement..." Like, really?? I can't believe that someone who uses this every day for their job never would bother to find this out. Then, instead of the piecey tiered layers I asked for I got a zillion tiny ones, so it looks puffy, cheesy, and 80s. :/ But the worst part was how incredibly disrespectful she was. We had been chatting nicely and I never was anything but pleasant to her. But when I politely asked for simple things like a mirror to see the back, or for her to even up the ends (it looked like a zigzag across the bottom!), she would make this big eye-roll face at the receptionist. I think she thought she was doing it over my shoulder, but actually it was quite visible to me. And she did it 3 times!! It was so aggressive and unnecessary. So, I got a bad haircut (that I can't get fixed elsewhere 'cause it's already way too short), and was also treated with weird, totally-un-called-for rudeness. Recently for reasons beyond my control, I was late to an appointment (I would not recommend this, of course!), and they kindly worked with me to move my appointments around so I could have all my services. I did not expect it to be possible, but rather than giving me a hard time, they calmly fixed the issue in a way that worked for both the Spa and me. This is priceless. Cindy gives fantastic, thorough manicures and pedicures. Candy is a very knowledgeable massage therapist. This review is for a basic cut (including shampoo and blowdry) for which I paid $45 plus tip (on the value of the Gilt deal I used, listed as $75). Overall, this salon offers a great value for the price. They offered me a mimosa when I arrived, everyone was kind and accommodating, and the price is very fair for DC. However, I am not particularly pleased with my haircut and I thought my comments might help other new patrons have a better experience. Upon arriving, an assistant immediately whisked me off for a shampoo (which was great and very relaxing--high praise for this aspect). But, there was no consult beforehand and no time to explain my hair and what I wanted. I wish I had spoken up and taken more time to help my stylist understand what I needed, but that's also the stylist's responsibility to her customer. I ended up with something that didn't resemble what I had described (and shown with photos) and doesn't suit my super straight hair that is prone to frizzing and flipping out in unflattering directions when layered too much and too short. Overall, if you're looking for a high-concept cut or a drastic change, MyLy was very talented and clearly passionate about her work. But if you're looking for someone to listen to you and help you resolve your hair issues, this might not be the place for you. read more

So I basically spent close to 6 hours in the place. And it was great. From the very beginning, when I walked in, to the end, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. I had a facial with Sadie who made me realize the power of the face massage. It was obvious she enjoyed her job and the facial left my face feeling clean and glowing. I then had an acupressure massage and foot reflexology with Jin who was lovely. I picked the strong massage but she was willing to re-adjust as necessary whenever I wanted it. My feet never wanted the massage to end. Cindy did my mani-pedi and spent a good amount of time making sure I got what I wanted. And finally, my hair. MyLy was amazing! She spent over two hours with me, making sure my hair looked the way I wanted and making sure the color was what I liked. Used to really like this place but the quality has totally gone down. The manicure I got yesterday looks so sloppy and uneven - I 100% could have done a better job myself. She didn't paint down to the base of the nail and left polish all over my cuticles and skin. Not to mention, the front desk woman is so rude.
