I came here on a company trip. Spa was backed up the lounge area was full with people waiting for massage and facials. Saw a couple massage get messed up and they ended up having to go with separate rooms. I was taken to locker room area but never shown any of the amenities. The massage I had was very strange the massuesse held my head for 10 minutes doing nothing. I thought she fell asleep. In my group trip of people others that got this massuesse all said they experienced the same thing we a actually all started laughing at it. But if it had not been a company treat I would have complained and wanted my money back. Someone asked me before they went in for their massage on scale of 1-10 what would I have given my massage, I had to go with a 5. I will say it's cool decor but that's the only thing going for this spa. read more

I enjoyed my time here a lot, and I would consider visiting again when I'm in the area. The spa was clean and well arranged. I liked the setting within a cave, and its calm, serene feeling. The staff were friendly, but not overly so. I would have almost welcomed a bit more from them, as it was my first spa experience and I was a bit apprehensive. When I called to make the appointment, it was hard to get someone to answer the phone. The woman who checked us in walked us through the locker room and changing area and gave us our robes and slippers. This became an issue for me, though. I'm a fat person, and I had typical fat lady angst about how the robe would fit. My fears were warranted, in that it fit great on the top and arms, but not well over my stomach. I had to hold it in place as I walked, and keep a towel handy to keep myself covered. If they don't have a robe in a fatty size beyond XL, they should! There's a discreet way to hand it over and not make a big thing of it. For the prices I'm paying to be there, I deserve to be covered up the same as everyone else was. I might have stayed longer and soaked or had lunch, but I was tired of holding my robe closed while I was there and I felt embarrassed. We had the orange body scrub, which was nice. I had a facial, and it was divine. 50 minutes of deep cleansing, scrubbing, massage, moisturizing. I would DEFINITELY have that again. I'm not a spa expert, but I think this spa is worth checking out if you're in Napa. read more

Overall a nice experience. I had the hot stone massage, and although I've had many other massage experiences this was my first time getting a hot stone massage. I definitely enjoyed my massage and the amenities and all the staff were friendly. Couple things: - you lose reception in the cave. I stayed at the Meritage Resort and made reservations upon arrival. I made an early morning appointment for a 50 minute Deep Tissue Massage. I arrived 30 minutes in advance to use their amenities, which was pretty much their steam/mist room and jacuzzi. Since it was pretty early, I was practically the only one there which was nice. Upon check-in, you pay for your services and they automatically charge the gratuity so it's nice that you don't have to think about it later, but if you end up having a terrible experience, then you'd probably want to go and deal with it later. The locker/shower areas were clean and stocked with typical spa amenities (shampoo, hairbrush, dryer, lotion, hair spray, hair ties, etc). Lemon-infused water stations were conveniently located in various areas. In the waiting area, they also had iced tea and hot tea. While I waited for my appointment, I was hoping to read some magazines, but instead, there were a bunch of books which I couldn't tell if they were for healing or religious books. Not what I was expecting so I just laid on the chair, stretched out my legs, and closed my eyes instead. After the massage, the knots in my shoulders were relieved of so I felt relaxed, but it did result in some soreness later that day. I also realized afterwards that I need to treat myself to a massage more often! read more

I just had to write to thank Spa Terra and the hotel for their customer service. I did a spa day there and left my ring in their retail area. They found it and were honest (was a nice/$$$ ring!) and shipped it back to me within 5 days. It was much appreciated. Sarah was on the phone from spa and helped get it to me--so wanted to say Thank you! RE: the reviews for the spa. I did their package for a swedish massage and facial. The massage was wonderful and they totally listened to my problem areas and adjusted for me. The facialist was informative as I do not get facials often. She explained every product and even did a little neck rub! The overall facility is nice and clean. The person in the spa who helps situate your lockers and show you around was special to have "on site". Not a large spa room but just enough spa to enjoy the hot tub and steam room. The only thing that would be nice to add is cucumbers while in the waiting room! Thanks for a great experience and for honest customer service in returning my ring. First off, Spa Terra is part of the Meritage Resort in Napa. The Meritage Resort is located off Napa's industrial/commercial parkway (think South San Francisco Genentech area). It's definitely not surrounded by sprawling ripening grapes as you would expect. But do not be discouraged - just don't look towards the industrial buildings. But the spa itself is definitely WAY COOL. Nestled beneath a winery and inside a cave, this place is very relaxing. The facilities are clean, new, and the service fantastic. It gets to be a bit pricey, but what spa (or anything, for that matter) in Napa isn't? When you're done with your treatment(s), you can opt to stay as long as you want in their jacuzzi or sauna. If you get their package treatment that includes wine/champagne, you can ask them to put it in a plastic cup and go outside and up top to the winery and drink it there as you overlook the vines...the resort...the freeway...and the commercial buildings. But really, it's a different type of feeling to walk into a cave-like spa. read more

Hubby and I have been to Spa Terra twice and we absolutely LOVE IT!!! The atmosphere is amazing and the massage therapists are wonderful. We visited in November 2012 and November 2013. We were staying at the Vino Bello Resort next door to the spa. On our first visit, we had a body scrub and a couples massage. On our second visit, we only had a couples massage. I love this place. My girlfriends and I had a fun & relaxing spa day here. The grounds, pool, jacuzzi, and cave were clean, with an herbal/fruity fragrant calming atmosphere. All of the staff were friendly & knowledgeable. Three of us had massages and one had a facial. All of our treatments were wonderful and SO relaxing. My therapist, Vanessa, was just outstanding! She started at my feet and had my muscles melting like butter in only 50 min. I've had a LOT of massages and she was the absolute best! I soooo wanted to give this spot 5 stars. It is by far one of the best facilities I have been in for a massage. Fountain by the jacuzzi...fountain in the quiet room...relaxation everywhere. However, there are only two showers in the locker room and one didn't have hot water. The other was luke warm. They also lagged on refilling the water. The actual massage was one of the best I have ever had (since I am a straight man I won't admit to how many I have had but let's just say it 's is a lot). The day as a whole was a perfect day in the spa and I will be going back!!! I also have to say...I love being a man in a spa. Usually I am the only one around and when there are a couple of men around they don't talk when relaxing. I went with a friend who said there were ladies talking loud all day...what is up with that? Spa Terra is AMAZEBALLS! It was great to stop by Spa Terra before we continued on our explorations in Napa Valley. I went with a group of friends and my hubby. We used SpaFinder.com to help find some great deals to validate at Spa Terra. Everyone loved the massage treatments they received. I had the European massage and found myself asleep by the end. Their facilities are very clean. There are several places where you can take your time and relax before and after your treatment including the Serenity room, sauna or jacuzzi area. Nothing was more refreshing than grabbing one of the ice cold face towels once exiting the sauna. Loved the array of beverages (hot teas, cucumber water, mint water etc.) they had for you to heat up or cool down. This place was the spa location of our girls overnight weekend Napa trip. It was pretty and had a winery "cave" feel to it. Although, their amenities are VERY limited. There are no flat irons or curling irons. No real amenities. The actual massage was okay. One of my girlfrieds got the "tension tamer" and feels that nothing was "tamed". It's a spa in a CAVE. That alone is a pretty damn neat concept! My massage was great. The atmosphere inside is very relaxing. Candles lit the hallway floors and the co-ed waiting room had a large waterfall against the backwall. What I liked were the little coves inside the Women's lounge that you can meditate in or read a book, with curtains that can be drawn for extra privacy. Tea and apples were plentiful. My girlfriend and I went to Napa for a girls getaway trip and stayed at the Meritage. We've decided to give Spa Terra a try after we found out it was voted one of the best spas in wine country. We both had the 50 mins deep tissue massage and even though it was kind of pricey (especially after they automatically included a 20% gratuity), the massage itself was great and worth the splurge. I was initially a little worry that even the deep tissue might be too light for me (I like my massage hard and most resort spas just don't cut it), but my masseuse Laura was right on with the pressure. When paying I was informed a gratuitity tip of 20% would be added to my bill as I was paying, It wasnt a request it was just an addon which in all honesty should just have been included in the main price. So my 330 Massage ended up being 400$. The overall experience was very calming and the ladies did a great job of making sure if we were comfortable with our position, the pressure, and the bed temperature. They really did make sure your body was comfortable. The music they had playing was okay but some ambiant parts would get louder than others and would get distracting as times when trying to just relax. The massage itself felt pretty good, but a couple times the lady I had seemed to pay attention to one side more than the other, or rub one spot really well then give the same spot on the other side less effort or attention. After the massage they gave us some time to re-robe and meet them outside the door for some water. They were closing soon but they allowed us to relaxe a little further by giving us some time to enjoy ourselves in the sauna and the hot top (which felt lovely). I really enjoyed that part because I was able to shower off the oils they used on me. I definetly enjoyed myself and it was a very beautiful spa but for two 50 minute massages and some spa room time it wasnt worth the 400$. read more

Took my mom here for her birthday last Tuesday and it was everything I had hoped for! It was $330 for two 50 minute Swedish massages which is a little pricey, but that included access to the hot tub, sauna, and resort pool. Upon arriving, they gave my mom and me two glasses of prosecco for her birthday :) The spa was really big, there was plenty of showers and lockers for everyone as well as provided amenities (brushes, razors, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion). There was infused water all throughout as well as tea and nuts to snack on. The locker room and relaxation room both had relaxing waterfalls My massage was one of the best massages I had, my masseuse had strong hands, and I could tell she really knew what she was doing. After our massages, me and my mom enjoyed the facilities and sat poolside with poolside service for drinks and food. This is such a great little getaway, I will definitely be returning :) read more

What a lovely spa. The atmosphere is so relaxed right when you walk in the door. You can smell scents of lavender and jasmine. From the start of our treatment to the end it was just and an amazing experience. I indulged in the orange peel scrub followed by the spa terra massage. The scrub left my skin silky smooth and the massage was a stress reducer. Lily was my masseuse and she was so lovely/friendly. Went here for my 2nd wedding anniversary celebration. My husband and I booked the Seduction couple's massage. The spa is a cave tucked behind the resort. It was very nice inside. I liked the jacuzzi/pool in the locker room. The waiting room was very cozy. The best part was that the bubble bath tub is in the same room as the massage room. Loved the lighting! There was a box of chocolates and champagne waiting for us next to the tub. My husband definitely enjoyed the time they give us to be alone in the tub before the massage therapists came back in to start our session =) Massage was great! I have called four times, every few hours, and there is no one to pick up the phone. Yesterday I had to call three times to get them to pick up. Just got back from an amazing day at the Spa Terra. My husband and I got a couple's massage and it was wonderful in every way. We used the facilities beforehand including the pool, which comes with complimentary cabanas! The water was still a bit cold being that it's April but we still got a quick swim before indulging at the spa. We got the signature Terra massage and it was perfect...not too much pressure and just enough to make you feel rejuvenated and like a new person! The facilities are gorgeous as well! The entire spa inside a wine cave truly giving a sense of being in Napa Valley! The staff were extremely nice and accommodating as well.There was an attendant inside the locker room at all times to provide water, ice tea or extra towels. The showers are the best extra large showerhead and a changing area all in one! They also have every toiletrie you can imagine so don't pack too much. Before visiting the Meritage we were regulars at Sonoma Mission Inn and have to admit we will become regulars at the Meritage now! We also had dinner at the Siena and it was equally amazing!! I highly recommend a romantic weekend or a girl's day at the spa followed by an amazing dinner. You will be going back guaranteed! read more

My mother and I have enjoyed relaxing services here before as well as my extended family who frequent this place. It's a shame that I have to write this poor review today. Yesterday, 9/13, my mother and my extended family enjoyed an overnight getaway and they booked 4 spa services at Spa Terra. The 80-min Collection Facial (includes an extensive massage - according to the website) was booked in advanced as that is the service my mom wanted and expected. Upon arrival, she was told by two employees of Spa Terra that there is not a facial that includes a massage service. Instead of my mother engaging in a word joust with employees who obviously are not aware of all services posted and offered on the company website that they work for, she settled for the 50-min facial the employees insisted that they only offer. Obviously, there is a serious disconnect here. Either the employees are unaware of all services offered and advertised on the website and require training or they blatantly lied to repeat customers about services offered. Either way, this issue needs to be addressed if this spa intends to have returning customers. read more

Hands down the nicest spa I've ever been to! I loved how the spa itself felt like it was in a cave and underground which it technically was. The facilities were impeccably clean, and wonderfully decorated. As soon as we checked in, we were walked back into the spa and were shown where the locker room was. We were provided a locker, very comfy robe, and slippers. The locker room had a jacuzzi and steam room, as well as basic toiletries. It was very clean and the locker room attendant was very attentive. I got a 50 minute massage with a scalp treatment added on. My masseuse Miguel, was excellent. He paid special attention to my problem areas and did a really great job. The beds were very comfortable and warm and I absolutely loved the warm pillow. I took full advantage of the steam room, jacuzzi, and shower, which had overhead and side jets. I would highly recommend this spa!!! read more

Spa Terra ended up meeting and then exceeding many of my expectations. I loved the unique cave location and facilities and amenities had a luxurious appeal that one would expect at a higher end spa. It beat Burke Williams hands down in my opinion. Firstly, it helped that the place is not crowded (despite that it was a weekend) which helps ensuring a more pleasant experience. We (six of us) had the spa room and the eucalyptus steam room to ourselves for quite some time, and the locker room or showers weren't overfilled with other guests. I had the 50 minute hot stone massage. Along with the hot stone they introduced a cold stone which gave a refreshing feeling (and relief) as it was quite a hot day in Napa. The dimly lit room with the soothing music was pleasant and my massage therapist was everything one can hope for. The only thing that is lacking on their service is that you cannot always reach a live person over the phone, even outside of standard lunch hours. It appears this is pretty constant since I am seeing many reviews mentioning the same and so perhaps Spa Terra's preferred method of communication is via email as I've found they were very responsive this way. My friends, many who have never been here before or have ever heard of Spa Terra were equally as impressed and agreed would come back. Ultimate Relaxation! I got the 50 min deep tissue massage as part of birthday present for a weekend in Napa. We were staying at the Meritage resort and this place is just across from the pool. You sign in for your appointment in the front desk and you are let in to the locker room for your robe and slippers. The locker room had a sauna, a jacuzzi and large showers. The showers are in two sections, the first room has a bench where you can dry off after and the shower has like 10 different shower heads. It had a huge overhead shower heads that was awesome!! After you changed you can go into the relaxation room to wait for your masseuse. The relaxation room consist of 8-10 large couches and i almost fell asleep in those chairs while waiting, so comfortable! I had Nicole for the day and she was AWESOME. She listened to my needs and spent extra time on those specific knots that i had. Also gave me tips on how to work those knots at home after our massage. Probably one of the best massages have ever had and i didn't want to leave at the end! You are also open to all the spa amenities for the whole day. So you leave, grab a bite to eat and go back to the sauna later. read more

Came here while on our mini-honeymoon. We called in for a partner deep-tissue massage. Make sure you make a reservation, and arrive early to prepare yourself for ultra relaxation. The spa is located in a cave below the vineyard behind The Meritage Resort. They provide you with slippers and a robe, and a locker. You wait in their lounge room while sipping on teas and juice before the masseuse calls you to your private room. The massage was perfect and they focused on the areas I told them to. Afterwards, you can use their jacuzzi and sauna, shower off and relax in the lounge with more tea/water. You can stay as long as you want, so be sure to allow yourself some extra time there. The prices are typical for a spa ($120+ for 1 hour massage), and worth it to relieve the tension of real life. Be sure to check out the Trinitas tasting room right next to the spa as well. read more

Came here for a work outing to celebrate a great year thus far. Left with bruises on my legs from my Swedish massage and $228 extra charges withdrawn from my bank account. Still waiting for them to email me the receipt to present to my bank and I was here now, two weeks ago. Very grateful I have my regular go-to spa close to home. The massage therapist wore sandals so as they walk around your table all you hear is their shoes smacking the ground hard to relax. I had a last minute opportunity to squeeze in a quick facial while staying at the Meritage for a work meeting. I found the staff to be friendly and knowledgeable and the Spa facilities were some of the best I have seen. Be sure to go early or plan on staying late so that you can take advantage of the Grotto style jacuzzi, sauna, and relaxation areas. I could have spent hours just relaxing in the women's dressing area. The Spa is located underground in the Wine Cave and has a cozy and comfortable feel to it. Highly recommend! read more

A M A Z I N G I want to go there every day. In my dream world, I do. Okay, let's do this review right... 1. The spa (along with a wine bar across the hall) is under a small vineyard...in a cave. As you enter, you lose all sense of time. The wine bar is excellent...the bartender is nice and the wine and champagne were both excellent. Prices weren't bad at all. 2. The spa staff was VERY nice. We were told to check in 1/2 hour early. We got there one hour early and had some wine/champagne at the wine bar. 1/2 hour before our appt. we walked over to check in. We had the La Dolce Vita package and it came with lunch and a glass of wine or champagne...we'll get to that later. They asked for our preferences and then showed us to the womens locker room. We were then invited to hang out in the relaxation room which has lots of comfy couches, dim lighting, blankets and waterfalls....wonderful. We also sat in the hot tub for a while before our package. We used the steam room as well...both were very enjoyable. At this point, I think I will rate each service: First, I had a Olive scrub and wrap. My therapist was amazing. She talked when I wanted to talk, but kept quiet when I wanted to relax. She gave me specific skin care advice for my skin type. She was very dedicated to making me feel relaxed and happy. After that, I got a massage by the same therapist. She really focused on the parts of my body that needed the most. I didn't have to tell her anything...she knew exactly where to focus. I have had MANY massages, and hers was very good. After the second treatment, the La Dolce Vita package comes with a lunch. We are both vegetarian so one of us ordered the salad and one ordered the cheese platter. Both were okay, but nothing fabulous. One IMPORTANT note: The wine and champagne served with this lunch are NOT the same as what is served in the wine bar. We were told by a resort employee to order the red wine (you choose between champagne, red wine and white wine with your package lunch) because it was the most acceptable of the three choices. I was wanting champagne, but they said the champagne was cheap. The red wine wasn't even that good, so I imagine the champagne was indeed bad. The third treatment I had was a facial. The woman who gave my facial was very good. I have had other facials, and hers was comparable. She may have gone a little quickly, but with extractions, facials aren't the most relaxing thing anyway, so I wasn't too upset about getting more treatment in the time. Overall, this place was amazing. I would go back right now if I could. It is a bit expensive, but worth every penny. Also, it's far out of the way and in a business park. At first we were really worried about the location, but as I mentioned the spa is in the back of the resort and is underground. You totally forget where the spa is located...you might think you are in heaven. As a fun side note...when we signed the guest book, Jessica Simpson and her new boyfriend has signed it. Had a wonderful experience here. I booked a reservation months in advance for a group of 8 girls for a bachelorette spa day. Communication (via email) was easy. It's in a cave with no cell service which probably helps you really just relax and not do anything with the outside world. It felt relaxing from the moment you entered. We were escorted to the locker room and got ready for our treatments. We changed into our robes and slippers and when we came back out our masseuses were waiting for us and called us each by name for our treatment. I had the summertime bliss massage and loved it! After our massages, we made use of the jacuzzi and eucalyptus steam room which is located in the back of the locker room. The showers are complete with shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and lotion. They also had blow dryers available, so basically they had everything you need! The whole experience was relaxing from start to end and we really enjoyed our time there! read more

A truly beautiful place to spa in silence... heaven forbid if you are chatting (in normal voice, not hushed, but not loud either) in the quiet room with your friends (we were the only people in there), you WILL receive a scolding! Other than a tongue lashing, which thankfully (?) happened first thing in the morning, everything from there went uphill... My massage was great. The locker room was well equipped with everything you could possibly need to get fancied up after a day of spa-ing. The showers (I saw 3) all had their own dressing area. Also there was one dressing room sans shower which was perfect for me since I needed to (ahem) pump. I was super excited to see electrical sockets instead of having to rely on batteries. Another bright note to this spa is the restaurant (Siena) located at the hotel. Delicious. But the location of the resort is too far from the rest of the action that goes on in the Napa Valley so I probably won't be returning. read more

Came here in '08 for a spa day with my cousin. I got the scrub and they were able to have the both of us in one room. Cousin also got a massage, so I had the opportunity to enjoy the amenities. Luckily, we had arrived a bit early so we were able to enjoy the hot tub, etc. The quiet room was really relaxing and the chairs oh-so-comfy! I think I fell asleep while waiting for my cousin! The decor is beautiful and resembles a cave. The scrub I received and the prices were standard spa, nothing extreme or fantastic. read more
