The massage was great. The locker room attendant was great. But our day trip was cut very short when we were told we couldn't use the pool facilities. My friend had used it before after a massage with no issue. Today, we'd planned our day around early massages and then lunch by the pool. We were told as we paid for our massages, and we noticed the sign that pool use was questionable for non resort guests, that we couldn't use it. As we left, there were 6 people at the pool. We drove to Yountville and had lunch up there instead. They really need to include this more clearly on their website. Next time, we'll know to go to Silverado for a full use experience and equally as good atmosphere massage. The price isn't worth it. read more

If you're visiting Napa and are looking for a break from drinking wine for a bit, be sure to visit Spa Terra. It was AWESOME! Excellent massages, relaxing atmosphere, helpful and courteous staff members. It ranked near the top of our group's adventures in Napa last weekend. There were 9 of us and all 9 enjoyed this place. Not always easy to find something that many people can agree on! Although the massage (almost an hour) will cost you about $120 - there are lots of other amenities that come along with it. Spend some time in the hot tub/whirlpools, or the steam room, or the relaxation room. For another $32 you can buy yourselves a bottle of champagne and then really enjoy the amenities. The bottle even comes with plastic flutes so you can enjoy your bubbly in the whirlpools while you await your massage appointments. Complimentary robes and slippers and personal lockers are provided. Very impressed with this spa. My husband and I had the "Seductive Package" which was a 25 min aromatic oil soaking jet tub/bath paired w/champagne & chocolates, followed by a 50 min couple's side by side massage..... for $340. (about $170/each). Upon arrival, we were greeted very cordially and taken back into the "heated" caves. Everything was very clearly explained as to what we had access to (separate men/women's locker rooms that included free lockers, vanity, bathrooms, jet/jacuzzi & eucalyptus misted sauna). We were given a robe and slippers to change into. There is a relaxing waiting room with spa water & iced tea to sip on while you await your masseuse. We were able to choose our scents of our oils for our massages and were given recommendations by the staff. After our massage was over, we were informed that we could stay as long as we wished & used the jacuzzi/facilities for the remainder of the day if we desired. This place is pure luxury. Sure to pamper you and make you feel free from all tension. A great indulgence for you and/or option to "gift" to someone else. read more

My friends and I drive the hour to Napa just to experience Spa Terra. We really enjoy how unbelievably relaxing the spa is. We always get there early to enjoy the steam room and pool ahead of time, and will often stay after our appointment to keep our relaxation going. We have a wonderful experience every time and will continue to make it a girls trip to enjoy it and get away for awhile. Oh! The best part is that there is no cell phone service past the doors. This was an interesting experience. When I arrived everyone else was offered a glass a wine but me. There is so much chatter going on you cannot truly enjoy and relax for a minute. Maybe it's because they all had the wine. There were so many of us in the dressing room area that you literally had to wait your turn to change. It seemed like the girls locker room in high school. Right before my service I had a glass a wine with cheese meanwhile the attendants passed by with bins full of dirty towels. I also had to witness two service providers arguing about who stole who's towels .When it was time for my services they started with a Swedish massage then body wrap. I would have preferred it the other way around. I mean to go from warm oil to a cold shower didn't seem right. I had two different service providers and they both rushed through the whole process. The massage was not effective or relaxing, she complained about her kids while she slapped oil and rubbed it through my body. During the body wrap, I ended up so exhausted as she rushed through the entire experience. She kept knocking on the door "are you ready !"My robe was not warmed after any of my treatments. When It was time to finally leave , the front desk was empty and I had to wait to check out for 5 minutes. I was so anxious to leave but even to do that was a bad experience. I would recommend the place only if you have no other place to go to. I was there on a Friday from 11 am to 4pm.They get two stars because the spa is under a cave. Visiting spa terra was amazing. My boyfriend and I agreed, we felt like brand new people coming out of our treatments. We got the passion package which included a scrub, wrap, massage, light lunch and some champagne. Everything was perfect, our therapists were amazing. The wrap made me feel like I was in a whole new realm and felt rejuvenated after. Just returned from spending the weekend here with my mom and sister for my sister's birthday. It was awesome! Kat, my masseuse, was excellent. i haven't had too many 'spa' experiences. my massages usually consist of a small asian lady and a table covered with a blanket you'd find at the flea market (don't knock it till you've tried it! no frills, but gets the job done). though i'm fairly inexperienced in pampering, i'm going to have to say that i think Spa Terra is probably one of the better spa spots in Wine Country. if you get a treatment done (whether it be facial, massage, etc) you can use their facilities for the whole day. they've got a large steam room, jacuzzi, nice 'serenity' room for relaxing, and you can use the hotel pool which has cabanas and food/drink service. my experience at Spa Terra was spectacular. super peaceful and relaxing. very cleanly and equipped with anything you might need. i can't wait to go back and make use of the pool. next time i'll spend a whole day there. read more

They claim to be top 100 spa in USA. My friend made reservations for both of us as we were staying at this hotel. She called few weeks ahead of time for two 50 min appointments, they said you can pick which massage or facial you want when you come. We checked in today and skipped happily to the spa. Then they said oh it has to be massage only. All skin care specialists went home. I almost said I don't want to do it. I was looking forward to having oxygen facial. Got pressured to pick massage. I wasn't really comfortable with it as I have some ticklish spots. I went along with it but regretted I didn't stand up more. They didn't offer other options Such as get it tmrw as I'm a guest, a discounted rate, extra add ons, etc. My friend and I wanted to use jacuzzi after spa. We can't since they will close and we have to leave right after spa. Regardless, I would recommend Bliss spa at W hotels. I have been to the one in Hollywood and West LA. Amazing service, specials, amnesties, and little gourmet snacks. Perhaps this spa needs to give them a visit so can learn a tip or two. read more

Took one of girlfriends here for her birthday this past Saturday. We drove around for a bit, because we couldn't find the spa but had some assistance from a groundskeeper. We walked in and had to wait about 5 minutes before we were assisted because they were busy upfront with checking folks out and someone who wanted to know what shade brown the makeup was lol Anyway, we were greeted and then taken back to the changing area. We weren't given a tour of the facilities, so we were a bit of a loss once we got back from our massages. Anyway, we were given our locker/robes and shoes and met our masseuses. The massage itself was nice, nothing incredible about it in of itself. We met back up after our massages and tried to figure out the lay of the land. We found a sauna room (Eucalyptus scented) and sat in there for a bit before we headed out to the grab something to drink. The sauna was nice and spacious and definitely cleared up anything one might have with it's scent. I was disappointed in that there really wasn't an area to relax in, other than the lounge folks wait for their masseuses. There are two chairs next to their small hot tub. The decor itself was beautiful and it was very clean. We ended up spending some time in the hot tub and back in the sauna again. My shower was incredible, where my friends was ridiculous. She said it was literally just dripping water and took her forever to wash the shampoo and conditioner out of her hair. At check-out I was told that the gratuity was automatic. I didn't care for that, since I feel like it's my experience that should warrant the gratuity not their assumption (20%). Although, it was beautiful, I doubt I'd come here again. read more

My experience here at the spa terra and the surrounding hotel grounds was unforgettable. My boyfriend and I came for his birthday celebration and it was just after a wonderful tasting at the trinitas library with Thai.(the library is associated with the hotel it's the better way to do the wine tasting with their trinitas label) we were feeling wonderful when we arrived and took a quick tour got a sample of rose'Ary and then went up into the vineyard for a perfect picture taking spot. Once it was closer to our appointment we checked in we were taken into the serene cave of the spa and in to our separate locker rooms where there was a really nice hot tub and sauna water was at every corner and it was cozy and intimate enough to take a nap (which I did) once in for our couples massage (I got the tension tamer with Manuel and he got the deep tissue with Katherine both of us loved the work they did both professional and calm) we both were were so FREAKING relaxed we again went into the waiting room and took an hour long nap (maybe longer don't judge us) the spa did exactly what we wanted. And the hotel it self was inviting and seemed nice enough I look forward to staying there now that I am a wine club member . Thanks Spa Terra! read more

I gave 3 stars based on atmosphere and the cleanliness of the facilities. It was really crowded when I went but that didn't take away from my experience overall using the sauna and hot tub. I didn't give it five stars because the water pressure in the shower was inconsistent and the deep tissue massage I got wasn't the best. In fact, it really didn't feel that great especially since my massage therapist had hairy arms. I will definitely love to go back but will request a different therapist next time. read more

You always luv your 1st ;-} Also had one of the best massages in my life thanks to my new BFF... Mercer, my masseuse! He did things to me I have never had during a massage before, plus he was very informative!! I will be back to see him regularly. My only 2 complaints were 1. every 5 star spa should have a sauna! (in my opinion) The Spa Terra does not. 2. the shower only has the waterfall shower head, which is wonderful, but it needs another shower head so you do not have to wet your hair. I've had a lot of massages from NY to LA to Vegas to Dominican Republic, even their other spa at Baccara, etc...but I just had the BEST MASSAGE IN MY WHOLE LIFE. NO BS! RUN don't walk to make a reservation to see Grace (perfect name for what she does). From start to finish she was attentive. She started with asking the normal "what areas to focus on more", "what injuries to look out for", etc.. then the healing started. Fluid, consistent pressured strokes/movements that just melted away all the tension I had built up from long work days, traveling, drinking, lack of sleep. I would highly recommend Grace anytime you are in North America for a massage. The only bad thing I can say is that now all other deep tissue massages will have to live up to her's. I was so excited for my first massage ever! Especially at 7.5 months pregnant. Two hours before my scheduled massage on a busy weekend, Spa Terra called to cancel as the masseur had a last-minute emergency. We rescheduled for the next day. Understandable. When I arrived, I was told it was $15 more than they had quoted me over the phone for the Mamina massage. I had called ahead as on their website it looks like the Mamina prenatal massage was not offered on weekends. I was quoted $150. They told me it was $165 + gratuity when I arrived. I was embarrassed to bring up this discrepancy in front of another guest at check-in. In the end they charged me the reduced rate but only because they had canceled the night before. Less understandable. My 50-minute massage was less than 40 minutes. It was scheduled to begin at 6:30pm. They tell you to arrive early so you are ready---so I was! You wait in the Serenity room for your masseur/masseuse to come and bring you to the massage room. At 6:30pm and shortly after, the masseuses came in one after the next, and I went with mine down the long hallway back to the private room. As I am pregnant and had been drinking water, I had to make a quick trip to the ladies on the way. What surprised me is that we ended the 50-minute massage at 7:18pm. I was sitting in the waiting room still at 6:32pm, having been ready. After walking to the room, setting up the pillows to support my (large!) belly and getting me comfortable, we started after 6:40pm. Even without my stop in the ladies, my 50 minute massage was not even 40 minutes. I asked friends after if this was normal, apparently it is not. The time usually starts when the massage itself starts. Not understandable. The masseuse put me flat on my back for the second half---which is known to cut down your ability to breathe and cut blood flow to the baby, especially late in pregnancy. I had to ask for a pillow after a few minutes. I thought this was pregnancy knowledge 101. Pros: The masseuse was great during the massage, flat-back incident excepted. The ambiance, eucalyptus in the locker room were so relaxing, as was the hamam and rainfall shower. Cons: I felt gyped, but in a nice place with soothing music. This massage was going to be one of the highlights of my trip to the Meritage. read more

This spa is amazing. This place is relaxing, serene, and tranquil. It was the best massage, facial, and scrub I have had. After every treatment I was greeted with some lemon infused water, was walked to the "relaxation room" where your next therapist will pick you up. Way better than Calistoga. This spa was clean. We loved this Resort! We stayed here for our honeymoon and were greeted by friendly staff. The rooms were classy and clean. Our room had a beautiful view of the vineyards. I was really inpressed in the packages they offered. We recieved free breakfast every morning, dinner, winery passes, wine, champagne, chocolates, bowling passes, etc. It was very affordable. They also have a beautiful wine cave that is amazing! Overall, wonderul stay and we would love to go back! read more

The spa itself was gorgeous, clean and very relaxing. However, we were on our honeymoon and booked a couples massage for the couples room and when we got there there were no couples rooms available. Also, I requested a male and he requested a female and they said they that was available and it wasn't what we ended up with. My massage was amazing, however my husband was constantly asking for more pressure to be applied and it never was. Considering that this experience cost close to $500 you would think they would have it together more than they did. Not a terrible experience, but not great either. I scheduled a spa day for me and 5 of my friends to celebrate my birthday and another friends birthday. From the pics on the website I was excited to visit Spa Terra. We all enjoyed the Girlfriends Package, which included a massage and then a facial or body scrub. The locker room was awesome, the waiting room was peaceful and the rooms for treatments were nice. The spa is beautiful and well worth a visit. The staff was attentive and very professional from the reservation process to the day of the visit. I will definitely visit this place again. read more
