I booked the relaxing massage & my husband booked the therapeutic/deep tissue massage. When I went into the room the lady was very rushed. She was extremely rough and would dig into my muscles. Flicked all the lights on, and walked out before I got a chance to open my eyes or say thank you. I changed and walked out, helping myself out. As I was waiting for my husband to come out I was given the QR code to pay. Once my husband came out we both paid via the QR code and the lady told us to wait and verify that they received payment. After verifying, she calls me out in front of the other 4 people in the waiting room for tipping too little. I asked if it was a problem and she said "no" and walked away. She was lucky I tipped at all! Tipping is based off of how much you enjoyed the service, hospitality, and the overall experience. I didn't need to tip but I still did anyway! Calling someone out for not tipping enough is not professional. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because my husband didn't mind his massage. The sole purpose of him booking it was because he wanted the deep tissue massage so the depth/pain was something he was requesting. And he said the guy would check up on him every once in a while and ask if he's okay or if the depth was okay (I didn't get that). We've been to plenty massage bars before and have never had issues. There was essentially no pressure or real massage technique--my therapist mostly put oil on my back and rubbed in circles. Justin said he was experiencing basically the same thing with his massage. Then, halfway through our massages, we suddenly started hearing a man's voice in the room. We realized that my fiancés facefemale therapist had apparently been replaced by a male therapist. Nobody asked us, nobody told us, and nobody explained what was happening. We had specifically requested female therapists, so having Justin's therapist changed to a man without our knowledge or consent was incredibly uncomfortable. We were not given an explanation when we questioned it. I eventually became so upset that I got dressed and walked out. A manager came in, but we still did not receive a reasonable explanation for why this happened. This was supposed to be a relaxing birthday experience for my fiancé, and instead we left feeling uncomfortable, confused, and extremely disappointed. Staffing issues happen, but you communicate with your customers and ask before making a significant change to the service they specifically requested. Changing someone's therapist halfway through a massage without saying anything is not acceptable to us. I would not return.
