This is the worst experience for us. I booked a whole package for my wife. Lauren (the girl @ the front) combined 2 packages to get us the massage, facial, hydro bath, scalp massage). I spent 310 dollars total. And hoped that my wife have a great experience. It turned out the exact opposite. My wife got a cold there as the room for the massage and body scrub was freezing. She told the lady and she did nothing (ridiculous). Good thing is the facial lady actually cared and gave her a blanket. When my wife told Lauren it was cold. She got the " yea, it is cold back there. " During the hydro bath. The therapist blamed my wife for splashing water everywhere. The truth is that the water jets out. The tub is too big for my wife. The therapist accused all kinds of things (rude). " Did you move around?" "Did you stand up?" "What did you do to the water?". My wife didn't do Amy of that and she refuse to believe her. Lastly, she didn't receive the scalp massage at all. The 15 mins I supposedly paid for. When I called later, she said I didn't pay for it. But Lauren was nice about it. Honestly, this has been the best experience ever! My sisters, mom, and I did the spa facilities/massage/mani/pedi package. Anna greeted us at the front desk and explained all that we needed to know during our spa day. She gave us our own robes, shower slippers, and your own locker/key to store belongings. She was very helpful, friendly and checked in on us periodically to make sure that we are satisfied through this amazing spa journey! From the moment we stepped in the door, we felt very comfortable and very special because the staff here attends to your needs and personal preferences. Spa facilities- 5/5 Very clean, atmosphere was very therapeutic, plenty of resources such as towels, hair dryer, sanitized hair brushes, hairspray, razors (if needed), etc... They have a steam room, sauna, a couple of showers with great quality hair products, and jacuzzi! I love the fact that they are close within distance but at the same time, you feel the effects of each place separately. Massage- 5/5 We had the pleasure of having Eric and Sylvia as our Massage Therapists. They truly make you feel comfortable and explain certain aspects of the massage. Such a small and cute spa. They have a clean check in lobby and then your experience continues down the hall and into the women's locker room. Here you will find a whirlpool, dry sauna, and steam room. All were temporarily out of service the day of but we were taken to a steam room across the hall which may have been the men's one, I can't say for sure besides it was across the hall. After our service the whirlpool was up and running so that was a plus, as it helped me relax. The facial and massage were divine. The esthetician Ana really knew what she was talking about and had some great recommendations, I'll def be back to see her and I highly recommend everyone to try her. Pretty pricey, but very nice facility, clean environment, very friendly and professional staff. Got the couples "Just The Two of Us" package which was a good 2.5+hrs. Starts off with your own personal spa use with sauna, then an hour massage together, individual facials for another hour, then use of the spa again until you feel fresh and new. THe ambiance really make Spa Xanadu stand out from the rest...and you feel like you've come into one of those high cost spa's that provide the same services but for more $$$$$. I recommend spending the day here---starting off in their jacuzzi, steam room and then sauna. From there you can attend your treatments whether it is a massage, facial or both. My second time back at Spa Xanadu and booked my first prenatal massage and it felt amazing! Silvia was very gentle and applied just the right amount pressure for my problems areas. She was very careful not to put pressure on my baby and made sure the baby and I was comfortable. Their prenatal massage is only $95 for 60 minutes and its so worth it (don't forget to tip!) I booked the facial and massage package. A few things to point out. 1. I booked online, I recieved a text confirmation. I tried to call as well, but no one answered. I was told maybe I called during the wrong time. Ok.... I didn't think much of it, but then I found out that you can actually use the sauna and jacuzzi free of charge. However, you needed a bathing suit. This was poorly communicated. Plus, the door was locked when I arrived at 11. 2. The facial was not great, I wouldn't come back because of the esthetician. She wasn't helpful in providing proper info about my skin. When I advised that I didn't want microdermabrasion , my entire appointment she spoke about how I needed to get it. And the actual facial was lackluster. There was also a brand in the room that was heavily displayed, however it was only for "weekly clients". There was a bit arrogance and I wasn't impressed. Came to the spa to celebrate my birthday with a party of seven people. Our appointments all started around 11:30 but we got there right at 9:00 in order to enjoy all of the amenities available. Upon arrival we had to check in and were given a tour of the facilities. They provided us with a bath robe, towels, and sandals to wear. In additions we were given lockers for all of our belongings and other toiletries so if we wanted to shower we could. It was very convenient. Hospitality was more than perfect. Because we were sick a large group were were given a private lounging area which was perfect for relaxing or waiting for the rest of our party to be finished. The treatments I received were a facial and a massage, which were both 30 minutes and both were excellent. It was my first massage so I have nothing to compare to too but I thought I was great. I didn't realize how many knots I had in my back. Lastly, but not least, we all left and carried on with our day when my aunt realized she left her wedding ring. She called immediately and ask for them to look for it. They had just thrown the towels and bath robes into the washer so she had to wait 20 minutes. Lord knows how hard and stubborn the knots in my shoulders and back were to smooth out. This lovely lady knew EXACTLY what she was doing. She truly took her TIME to get these knots out of my shoulders... from the way she massaged me, to the amount of pressure, down to the specific pressure points in my back. I had an amazing massage by Sylvia (I think is her name). She knew where I was tense in - it's been very stressful at work so my neck and shoulders were very wound up. Right when I thought my experience with them couldn't get any worse (nor could they get any more unprofessional), one of their employees decides on the brilliant decision of harassing me with not one, but three long messages on my review for Spa Xanadu. Her comments were disrespectful, unprofessional, and rude. She also should not be reaching out to me through her own personal account, but rather through a business account. It is very unprofessional and she also went as far as to make a snarky comment about the amount of tip I left her (even though a tip reflects the customer's satisfaction...). All in all, rather than being truly apologetic about a customer's poor experience and sincerely trying to rectify it...you bark at them to take down their honest review of their experience...this is really going to make them want to take down their review. And isn't one of the main purposes of Yelp to inform others of poor business practices so they can make better informed decisions on where to take their business? Gosh...I was REALLY excited about my appointment here for Spa Week. I set it up perfectly, the morning after my 10K run. Well after getting a solid 3 hours of sleep and pulled myself out of bed and drove down to Arcadia, only to find the doors still locked at 9:45am (my appointment was at 10am). Fair enough, I just waited in my car. When I went in, the male working the front desk wasn't very welcoming. THEN he started whispering to the female working with him about something. He handed me a clipboard and kindly got me scorching hot tea while I waited. I gave him my clipboard when I was done and asked, "Is everything ok?" And he said, "We had you down for the 20th, must be mistake." He said it in a way that it might have been my mistake which is ABSURD because I don't make those kind of mistakes... (seriously I don't). So the whole day was off to a bad start already. I felt rushed, I felt unwelcomed and my masseuse, Angela was 'ok', but she had to point out, "We start at 10:10, we end at 11:00." Pretty much saying, "even if I'm in the middle of finishing your scalp massage, as soon as the second hand hits the 12 at makes it 11:00, I'm out of here." And that seriously WAS the case. The facility is nice, they do put effort into making it 'clean', but the fact that the owner and my masseuse were speaking another language, etc. just made me feel like I was at a souped up "Jade Twin Massage Parlor" or something. read more

Very Disappointed.... Will not go back ever again!!! I usually take my grandma to the Korean Spa in Rowland for scrubs and massage, I was looking forward to Spa Xanadu because it is closer to home. I called at 11am to see if they have a special for scrub and massage and they said yes $110, GREAT! a bit more than the Korean spas, but hey don't knock it until you try it, plus it is closer. Since they only had one availability I told them I will just do the $25 admission fee and hang out at the sauna while I wait for my grandma to get the treatment. After the treatment which grandma did not like :( I went to pay, the girls in the front were confused whether I was checking in or checking out..... after about 10 - 15 mins and getting another girl to help out they told me it was $150..? When I asked them they said they gave me a special and did not charge me for the $25. I was about to ask please don't give me the special just give me what you agreed to on the phone before I came $110 (scrub and massage) and $25 admission fee = $135. $15 is not a big deal, it is the principle of the matter and the fact they made it sound like they were doing me a favor by giving me a discount..... While traveling with my daughter and one of her friends, I had the opportunity to visit Spa Xanadu. I indulged in a 2-hour deep tissue massage and it was worth every penny. The service from all aspects is top notch. From the gal that scheduled my last minute appointment, to being greeted by the front desk attendant as soon as I walked in and the young woman that escorted me to the waiting area. I don't recall my therapists first name, but she was a petite, blond woman that couldn't have weighed more than 100-pounds soaking wet. Don't let her looks deceive you. She is a master practitioner of her craft, one of the best and "hardest" deep tissue massages I have ever experienced. Wow! So I came here from reviews on yelp with my friend Kelley for her birthday on May 10th. First I booked it on the phone with Patrick and he was very helpful (sorry if I wrote your name wrong). I called three days before and asked him a lot of questions and he was kind enough to spend 20 mins answering all my questions. He was kind and knowledgeable. Then I called the next day and booked it for the 10th at 3pm after my work. I booked the hot and cold jade stone massage and I got a package for Kelley (the xanadu massage and a pumpkin facial). So when I got there I parked in the back and the park was nice and quite. I'm sure it would have been packed if I didn't get there so late in the day and if it wasn't a weekday so, lucky me! So Kelley and I went thru the back and passed by the massage rooms. Patrick met up with us in the middle and led us to the lobby. The lobby looked like a regular salon parlor with one side selling lotions and the other side for pedicures and hair styling. So while we sat their and filled out our paper works Patrick asked us a few questions about the service, to double check if I wanted to add anything for Kelley since I told him on the phone. However, he ended up asking Kelley and showing her the packages (I had read online) when it was suppose to be a surprise because I bought it for her birthday. -.- Which was the only reason why it's one star less. So since we got there 40 mins early we were led into the relaxation room and the jacuzzi/steam room. The lockers were also in the same room so there wasn't a lot of lockers. Which was fine because there was only one other person with Kelley and I. Walking through the rooms were very nice and calming and I was excited to get to the massage. I really loved the relaxation room and thank goodness it was just Kelley and I because we hogged the whole room! ^^ They had ice water and herbal tea in the relaxation room and the jacuzzi/locker room. Very pleasant. The jacuzzi was a nice addition instead of just the dry and wet saunas. We were able to soak in the jacuzzi for about 20 mins before going to our massages. My massage was awesome. I had never gotten a hot and cold jade stone massage and it was definitely a shock when they first touched my body but after a few minutes, it was like my body was feeling the energy from the jade stones. I had Patricia massaging me and she did very well on the massage. She was focused on relaxing me and she did do that. I felt my chakra being restored. I just felt so relaxed and limb afterwards. My body felt fully energized and serene. I was able to relax a few minutes more, after my massage, because Kelley had an extra added 30 mins with her package. I was able to be in the relaxation room with it's dim lighting, serene music, and cozy sofas. Kelley and I almost fell asleep in there. ^^ I will definitely be coming here again. The service was great, except the the little mishap in the beginning. The price was decent, compared to other spas. And the massage was fantastic! My score is mostly for the facility. But first, It has been almost 2 1/2 years since my last visit. I didn't come sooner simply because of the cost. I had called recently to schedule a massage with Michelle but she no longer works there. Then this Thursday I looked at their website and noticed that they now have Vichy showers. Heaven. I called Friday afternoon thinking I would not get in on Saturday. Boom, Mary got me in. I specifically told her how important the shower was to me. She even mentioned how funny I was. I told her that I didn't really care about the body scrub, I was in it for the shower. I asked to soak in the lavender tub, scrub and Vichy showers then massage. When I showed up Ana checked in Marissa???? I am taken back to the spa locker room and told that the steam room is not working but the sauna is fine. This is important later. I changed in the still extremely hot and stuff women's locker room. I then waited in the quiet room to be joined by a couple (also robbed) crunching on snacks and loudly chatting. Amanda saved me or I mean Marissa. Yup, they had my name wrong in their system after 2 years. She brought me in the room for the scrub shower first " it works better" The table had No towel covering the vinal mat. When I asked I was told that is how we were trained. So, when scrubbed, very very hot, sticky , sweaty and uncomfortable but at least the table was wide enough. No, it was gross. Then the moment I'd been waiting for, the shower. I had also told Amanda how important this was! The shower didn't work right. It was both hot and freezing at the same time. It was like being tortured!! Amanda thought I wanted the shower to end so she turned it off. No, please just fix the temperature. Then back on for mere minute....I mean minute!! I HATED the scrub and would have preferred 30 minutes of a WORK ing shower. Then onto soak. Per my previous visit, my soak had aroma and suds. I really wanted lavender but was never asked. No suds? I sat in the tub. Jets turned on, Amanda leaves the room and everything shut off. I'm alone for a while. Amanda tries to get it fixed but is unable. The owners are in Greece. Good for them! Then, I sort of loose my mind when alone... The tears were deep. Amanda caught me and felt awful. She spoke with Ana and I was not charged for the soak and I think the massage was a little longer than an hour. I was also given a$25 gift certificate off a future massage only off a one hour massage that expires in September. What??? When all was done, I headed back to shower off the oils and change to find the women's spa lockers room rather shut down. Lights off and everything was put away. I found 1 light switch and one towel but the message was clear, we are closing !!!! I spoke with Ana and said that I would be happy to speak with the owners. Ana said that they could put me in the room with the other Vichy shower next time. What?? How about fixing the equipment! No sauna Failed soak tub Failed Vichy showers At these prices!!! I just don't feel like I should have been charged for the Vichy showers. This was NOT a Vichy shower experience. I did tip Amanda for the full intended amount for an adequate massage but I don't know if I would return..... 6/25/16 Anna told me that she would speak with Donna the manager/ owner on Thursday 6/23,when she returned from vacation and that I would hear back. I heard NOTHING. I went into the spa today to speak directly with Donna. She refused any refund until she INVESTIGATED and spoke with Amanda and Anna. She said that it is the spa's policy NOT to refund after treatments. Donna shared that I was given extended services. So...she did speak with Anna? I did not request extended services or oils or anything. She said that she can not NOT pay her employees. Great, pay them...but not at the CLIENT'S LOSS!!!! I did not sign any paper work when I had arrived stating a no refund policy. The lack of hygiene on the Vichy shower bed is enough to warrant a call to the health department. 3 major pieces of equipment did not work and I never asked who was in charge. It was freely expressed to me that the owners were in Greece. When I mentioned this to Donna , she went crazy about her privacy. Seriously, I said that there was not an Operations Manager on site when equipment failed and you were in Greece. Is this not true? I am suppose to hear one way or another by Tuesday but I doubt the customer prevails at this establishment. BBB will hear about them ! 6/30 Donna did call and only addressed a few of the long list of wrongdoings. She feels that the added 15 minutes to the adequate massage makes up for everything else. My girlfriends and I decided to give this spa a try since I got rave reviews from a friend. I was quite excited about a good massage because nothing beats the massages in Shanghai and Ann Karen Day Spa. The layout of the spa was not impressive at all. If there were more than 4 people standing next to the locker area and makeup/hair station, we kept bumping elbows. I started to feel claustophobic in that area. The jacuzzi was all right...nothing to feel jazzy about. The steam room was out of service. There was an alternate steam room on the OTHER side of the facility. As we entered the alternate steam room, it was a shower room! Since the steam room was so tiny, the steam was super hot. We left that steam room quickly. The relaxation room had 1 sofa and 1 individual seat (which had someone sleeping there already). I just didnt feel relaxed whatsoever. This shows that this place picked a wrong location for a spa because it's not spacious. (Please go to Ann Karen and see the difference.) My appointment for a 60 minute Swedish massage was scheduled at 3:45pm. A gentleman came in to get me at the relaxation room. Little did I know, the gentleman was my masseuse! When I made my appointment, I thought Spa Xanadu would have at least asked me if I prefered a man or woman masseuse. Nope...no one asked for what the customer wanted. The Swedish massage relieved alot of tension I had in the lower back and the neck area. When the treatment was completed, I looked at the time and it was 4:25pm. As I exited the room, I asked the masseuse how long the massage was for. He said that he came in early to get me for my treatment. I thought that was not very professional. If I made an appointment at 3:45, you get me at 3:45...not 15 minutes early or 15 minutes later. All in all, it was a good girl's day out but this spa, I wouldn't come here again. read more

I went to this spa with my mother for what was supposed to be a relaxing day. Instead, we were rushed around, not allowed to use the steam room (because the manicurist "was waiting and had other appointments." NOT TRUE), and injured. My massage therapist was ok, but I was in pain for a week afterward. My mother's kept hurting her, even when told to be more gentle. Then the worst pedicure and manicure of my life. I literally got a first degree burn from the paraffin, was sliced into on my toes, and had goopy, smeared polish everywhere. And it took a long time to look that awful. When we told the manager we were unhappy with the two-hour pedicure from hell, he said to let them know "next time." I was like, "I'm letting you know THIS TIME." But he didn't care. Judy is my new favorite for a deep tissue massage. She was recommended to me by one of the receptionists. And I just went to her yesterday for the first time. She did a great job! She's very friendly and has a sense of humor. She also listened in detailed as I explained my problem areas. Judy is also a physical therapist so she really gets in into all of your muscles and knots, she also helps stretch you about a little bit. I am rating this spa purely on its Deep Tissue Massage. I am a huge massage buff but typically go to the $15 China Man foot massage places. I generally can't justify spending close to $200/hr on a massage at the fancy 'spas'. But i have been to quite a few so I am comparing this experience to the massages I've received at the fancy spas. My gf got me a certificate so I decided to use it here. And holy mother was my masseuse wonderful. This was hands down the BEST deep tissue massage I've ever received. Not only that but Tatiana was preggers! A pregnant masseuse who gave the best massage ever. I like my massages deep & hard, with a lot of OOMPH in it. She was stronger than any other MAN i've ever received a massage from. When I came home, the crook in my neck that's been bothering me for at least 2 yrs is gone! I went for the $78 special they have going on right now. It includes an aromatherapy 50 minute massage and a mani/pedi. Not a bad deal and that's exactly why I spent 40 minutes stuck in California traffic hell to get to my appointed time and place for rest and relaxation. The spa itself is clean, it's pretty and definitely put me back into a state of zen. The people who work there are very friendly, very nice and professional. They didn't push me to buy more services nor did they hawk their wares at me. That was greatly appreciated. The massage was alright. To be honest, I prefer Pho Siam's. I didn't understand where the aromatherapy part came in unless it was from the room smelling nice. Overall, it was a decent massage but I wouldn't come back here strictly for that. The mani/pedi wasn't too bad either. Their spa chairs were very clean and comfortable. The lady doing my nails didn't engage in mindless chatter which I appreciate because I'm there to zone out. :: Extra touches that I appreciated :: - they offered me tea or water after my massage and before I went in for my mani/pedi. The tea was pretty tasty. - they called me to check on my status to see if I was going to make it to my appointment - I went on St. Patty's Day and they gave the customers cookies with green sprinkles. Yummy. :: What I Wasn't Too Impressed With :: - the limited range of nail polish colors. There weren't any super crazy hues. Most of them were pale nudes or various shades of pinks, reds and french manicure colors. The good thing is they feature pretty much only OPI products. There were a few random stuff thrown in there but mostly all OPI. - I got the feeling they were trying to rush me out. Granted, there appeared to be only two ladies working but I kept hearing them say "There's two more people waiting". After the last coat was brushed on my fingers, the lady doing my nails simply disappeared. It was like she vanished never to be seen again. Next time, I'm gonna give their spa treatments a go. I bought their current special of 4 manicures AND 4 pedicures for $100. This means I'm going back there again. Maybe I'll be more "wow" next time. read more

First time here and I must say I am impressed! The facility is very nicely decorated and CLEAN. Facial by Joyee was amazing, one of the best facials I have ever received! Workers are very accommodating and provided me with great customer service. I highly recommend this spa. If you are not in the area, its totally worth the drive. You wont be dissapointed. I surprised my girlfriend with a couples massage right after Valentine's Day and we both had great massages. The therapists really focused on our individual issues and left us feeling like new people. The front desk staff lauren who booked my appointment was helpful in choosing the package that was best for us and was just as helpful and nice in person. We had a spa just for the 2 of us where they also had cake and drinks as a special treat! My girlfriend loved it! We were very happy with our evening! When it comes to spas and massages, Spa Xanadu is undeniably the best in Arcadia. My boyfriend and I came in for a couples massage on our first visit here and we felt pampered from the second we walked in to the very second that we left. Our private room was clean and spacious for lounging which we definitely took advantage of in the hot tub but most importantly, it was clean and had all the amenities we needed. They even had disposable shaving razors.. Talk about attention to detail! And our joint massages? Amazing! My masseuse did a wonderful job man-handling my back (per my request) and I have to honestly say it was one if the best massages I've ever gotten. I was debating on whether to get the facial as well and I am certainly glad I did because my skin felt great and radiant for the following days to come. The boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his experience just as much as I did. The staff was very friendly and were incredibly helpful throughout the process. The facility is beautiful and had me feeling zen and relaxed. My boyfriend and I will undoubtedly be returning. I honestly wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

Everything about this place was....off. Decor was good but that's about it. Receptionist that checked us in was unfriendly, rude and un-welcoming. She asked us if we are allowed to use the spa after our massage. Confusing! Why is she asking us?!?!? And when we respond with a "yes", she says no we can't use the spa because we didn't book a facial with our massage. I let her know that we didn't have the option to book a facial even if we wanted it because they were fully booked, so we should have been able to use the spa since they weren't able to accommodate our facial. The deep tissue massage was ok...nothing special. But after the massage, the masseuse said she would wait outside with iced green tea. She was nowhere to be found. We helped ourselves out, maneuvered through the facility and to the reception area BY OURSELVES. Weird! The prices are Burke Williams prices. I tipped the full 20% because the receptionist asked me if I wanted to add a "20%" tip OUT LOUD. What place asks for a specific tip percentage?!?! Spa days are supposed to be special, relaxing, pampering, and something you long to do soon again. I didn't feel any of this and have nothing good to say about my experience at Xanadu. Thank you Xanadu for making my spa day, which I don't have very often, such a failure. read more

Amazing experience. My mom and I go once a year to have our nails done. We usually go to Tinzee (but NEVER again because they don't honor gift certificates that are a year old... for shame, Tinzee in South Pasadena!). But it was a good thing because we found Spa Xanadu. There is a $55 special for Xanadu Mani and Pedi. SOOOO worth the upgrade from the Arcadia mani, pedi. You get to relax in a massaging chair. There is a paraffin wax treatment with manis, and sea salt scrub and mask for pedis. Aaa-mazing. My skin never felt so smooth. Thanks, Julie and Jean for taking care of my mom and I. You two were welcoming and gracious. I changed my mind mid-treatment about changing my color nail polish. Normally, I wouldn't feel brave enough speaking up, but Julie made me feel comfortable enough to feel free to do so- she even picked out some suggestions. I went with a color I never would have picked on my own and ended up loving it. Jean is super attention detailed, a true perfectionist. She has pride in what she does because she kept going back and adding corrections to my moms pedicure. Joseph arranged the schedule so that my mom and I could sit together and get our treatments at the same time. He is actually very honest because as we were walking out, he came running up to us admitting that he over charged us. He fixed the situation and we would have never known. Admitting a mistake is hard, but he did. LOL I hope he doesn't mind broadcasting that mistake BUT IT'S A GOOD THING WHEN YOU MAKE IT RIGHT! Joyee was very friendly. She offered us drinks and refills during our treatments. Afterwards, she gave us a tour of the rest of the amenities offered. You would never expect all the great things they have back there. My favorite was the private jacuzzi in the back- wanna try that one later. read more

I love everything about Spa Xanadu! Been going for years.. I've tried most services...my husband and I love going for the couples massage. Body scrubs great, Donna does an amazing facial..last time I had the green tea facial, which I highly recommend. I like the nail salon too cause it"s quite and not noisy like others..truly a hidden gem! Love it here...always leave relaxed and keep coming back! read more
