With the understanding that I'm definitely not the target demo for this place, this could have been worse. I came here for a work event in honor of a colleague's last day (who I suspect is VERY much the target demo) a few Tuesdays ago. My understanding is that we booked a 6pm to 8pm time slot, featuring an open bar - a cheaper open bar with house spirits, which is certainly what I would have emphasized to whomever had to review the bill later - and...ping pong. K-Town is only a few blocks from where we work, but it's JUST far enough where I rarely walk through it, and it also wasn't a huge destination when I was in college further downtown a little over 20 years ago. Seems edgy from my walks, particularly some of the divey restaurants, but there's probably a reason this might have literally been my debut in the neighborhood. Like nearby Five Iron Golf (and I'm guessing a lot of businesses in this area), Space Ping Pong requires you to go into a generic building lobby and take an elevator up to the actual establishment. I really don't remember this being a thing in literally any other NYC neighborhood but I'm open to feedback. There were employees downstairs - I think more so on behalf of the building overall versus specific businesses - that managed the influx of people and got them quickly onto the elevator and ultimately their destination. It was very blue in there. Space has a definite arcade/Dave & Busters vibe but also a legit bar, so you're getting some edgy, dim lighting to match. I had to deal with potential NJ Transit drama (a day that ends in a y, am I right?) so i only stayed for about 45 minutes. In that time, I did enjoy two refreshing tequila/grapefruits from the open bar, as well as several informal ping pong matches. On the booze front, these weren't particularly strong, which I didn't really care about, especially since it was a Tuesday and I wasn't trying to get into too much mischief. They tasted pleasant enough, and given that a lot of the alcohol here in terms of both spirits and cocktails was very obviously geared toward barely legal young pups (the menu massively gave off Hoboken) it was a marginal win for me. There was a food menu as well that I heard mixed things about after the fact, but I didn't sample the wares so who can say? That also looked like pretty generic bar food for what it's worth. I imagine people are coming for the ping pong primarily, not the refreshments. The ping pong? Also fine. I would suggest that the areas where the ping pong tables are have at least slightly better lighting. I'm not going to claim that the dim party lights played a hand in my ping pong mediocrity, but it WAS a little tough to see some of the lines on the table (which I'm sure have sophisticated names I'm unaware of). Just slightly brighter - you don't need medical examiner room vibes or anything. Also similar to bowling and its equivalent bumpers on the sides, maybe something to more easily catch or capture the errant ping pong balls? They DO have an employee or two pretty regularly going around with this scooper/sucker thing (I think they have this in golf too) but we had a lot of instances of ping pong balls ending up under tables or rolling off somewhere into the abyss. Debatable though; that's arguably part of the game and I don't think anyone's experience here markedly suffered as a result of a stray ball, especially given that there were tons of available ones to grab when the need presented itself. I didn't mind this. All respect to Space Ping Pong, I'm probably hitting up one of the restaurants next time I'm in the area. read more

Space is located on the 8th floor of the building and taking the elevator takes a while because there's alot of people coming in and out of the various venues in the building. We walked in with a large group on a Saturday night around 11pm and they had an opening for us. $50 an hour for ping pong (we played beer pong with water). We did a drink package that included two bottles of shochu, 5 bottles of beer and one food selection for $89. That's honestly a great deal. The bathrooms were clean. The staff goes around picking up your ping pong balls for you as well. They have a mini arcade with some games. There's a decent amount of seating throughout as well as bar seating. Overall an enjoyable and affordable activity for a large group. read more

As it is centrally located in KTown, I thought it would be overpriced ans crowded - but surprisingly there were a few open tables on the weekday night we dropped by. The atmosphere is a little dark and lighting reminded me of a club - so if you are sensitive to lights, maybe stay away. But those lights made the ping pong balls glow in the dark. We paid ~50$ (inclusive of tax/tip) for one hour on a Thursday night - split amongst 4 people, it wasn't a bad price for a small outing. read more

You can play beer pong (with water of course) and not have to worry about fetching the balls because the staff comes around frequently with a ball catcher and dumps it back into the bucket. I went here because of my teams company holiday event. We all had a blast. I had no idea this place even existed before I went for our work outing. Everyone was super helpful. We did the open bar but the package we got wasn't top shelf. I stuck with my normal mixed drinks and that was fine. We got typical bar food and the wings were a big hit. The burger was just alright. We all either played ping pong or beer/ water pong. Never knew the rules until I went to play. Everything was well kept. The only problem was there are no garbage cans so we had to just leave our plates and cups for the workers to come and get. The photo booth was $8. That's a bit much! I didn't partake in arcades. So you've finished dinner and drinks in K-town and you're maintaining a soju-fueled buzz, looking for an activity to keep the evening festivities going. You could karaoke, but maybe that's not the vibe your whole group is feeling. This ping pong lounge is definitely the move. The space is massive, so your group can spread out. Choose from neon light up ping pong tables, beer pong, a pool table, or arcade games, which line the perimeter of the space. Your group could splinter off to do different activities but all effectively still be together. It's really the ideal post-dinner spot. The last time I was here I jumped in on a game of beer pong, failed spectacularly at some table tennis, and meandered off to play a racing game off to the side. I spent the rest of the night posted up at a high table with a group of friends, gabbing over soju shots and fries. For those who care, there's usually a basketball game playing on a big screen behind the bar too. The crowd is inclusive of different ages, so I haven't felt too old to be hanging out here (yet). The place is large enough that you really don't have to worry about other groups of people, especially if your own group is large enough to take over a table and corner. I'm on a mission to get better at pool, so you can expect me to find me here on an upcoming Friday night this summer. read more

My friend and I celebrated our joint birthday here and it was a lot of fun! They took good care of us even though we were probably too rowdy haha I'm not sure if we got lucky but we were able to walk in same day + had 4 tables on a friday night yall. It definitely got packed later on in the night so maybe showing up 9pm or earlier is the key (if you need a last minute venue to host a large party). We had around 28 people! I like that you have an option between beer pong and ping pong table set up. Pro tip: Order pitchers of beer and magaritas instead of everyone ordering their own cocktails. The only thing I didn't like is that the elevators take forever. And they don't let you take the stairs unless its an emergency. I am so disappointed in this space that's heavenly promoted by "influencers." I booked far in advance for my son's birthday and the horrible communication via email should have been a red flag. We came and the host was incredibly RUDE, pushy and no care at all. The 20 percent gratuity is ridiculous. We didn't order anything but was provided a pitcher of water and cups. The bet broke on the first table and we moved to another room. Every five minutes she kept coming into the rude with concern after concern. I am very diligent and made sure that the waivers were signed before. I was told they didn't receive all of them. The kids immediately showed me sign shots of the waivers and I had paper copies. There seems to be a disconnect between the people who answer the emails and the staff in person which leads to mishaps. She came in again and quickly rushed us out the room. I said ok fine. The kids want to play on the arcade games. She said that there's a law and they have to leave at 4pm. I was NEVER told this. I was with them the entire time supervised. A man came over and said it was ok for them to play in the arcade. I kept my cool the entire time I was there but this condescending customer service talk have needs to be FIXED ASAP. I reserved for my birthday on a Friday night. The space, food and drinks were all great! It was a cool area with two private ping pong tables that can be set up for ping pong and beer pong (filled with water). There's an arcade (not included in reservation) and food to order. On the weekend any reservation requires you to purchase an open bar package or bottle service. We got the lowest tier open bar which was $59/person. Usually, just the table is $50 for 8 people. The fries we ordered were delicious! The atmosphere was very fun for photos and activities. My only criticism is about the service. On their website they list a lot of menus and packages which I thought was a bit confusing so I thought I'd give them a call before submitting a reservation request. The person on the phone sounded extremely uninterested and didn't answer my questions clearly. He didn't tell me that I'd have to purchase the open bar/bottle packages for a weekend reservation. He said "just send an email". The email responses were much more helpful and since I had read so many positive reviews on Google, I felt confident moving forward with the reservation. On the night of, I was running a little late so I called to ensure they knew I was on the way. The person on the phone sounded uninterested again. As if he was thinking "okay why did you tell me you're going to be late?" Furthermore, when one of my guests arrived earlier than me, the hostess told them we have a 15 minute grace period and need to arrive ASAP. (I got to the building at 8:15 for my 8pm reservation and had to wait for the elevator so ended up checking in at 8:17). The bar tender had a similar "I don't want to be here" attitude. Overall I had a great time and think I can say the same for my guests. I would still come back but likely without a reservation forcing me to spend $59 per person. Went for a team event and had two hours of open bar along with ping pong/beer pong. This place is on the 8th floor in the same building as where Jongro is. When you enter, it's pretty dark with lots of uv lights. It also had a small arcade area and photo booth. Plenty of places to sit and chill too. You have two options where you can either play beer pong or ping pong. The staff helps you set up the cups for beer pong at the ping pong table and it's nice that they go around and collect the ping pong balls off the ground so you're not stepping on it all the time. The drinks were okay (had a couple of vodka with ginger ale). The light bites we had were just okay (mainly meat and cheese and Mediterranean platter). Would def recommend if you want to play ping pong or beer pong when you're in Ktown. read more
