I ordered flounder stuffed with crab imperial ($24.99). There was actually less than 1 1/2 teaspoons of stuffing that I had to search for, delicious as it was. Stuffed Flounder and the sauteed side courses arrived absolutely stone COLD. Inattentive waitress must have left our 2 entrees sitting out before serving them. No refills on drinks or bread, as I took the last bite of the flounder the waitress grabbed the platter out from under me and asked me if I needed the fork I was holding....with the last bite on it. Let's start with the service. I was there yesterday and the service was awful and basically non existent. On top of that... all portions were SOO TINY. Very good seafood just off the boardwalk. This is a small place so seating is limited but they have some outdoor seating. This is by no means a fancy place. It was incredible noisy and very small but that wasn't the worst thing. I has the oysters and crab cake. The oysters were over cooked and the crab cake had tons of breading and little crab. The fries were excellent and the New England clam chowder was great. Make that your meal and stop there. My daughter ordered the lobster bisque which was very good but it had sherry in it. Nowhere on the menu did it mention the sherry. We had a recovering alcoholic with us and he tried the soup. AA tells them to stay away from things cooked in alcohol because the taste can trigger a relapse. I called the restaurant later and talked to them about this and suggested they mention it in the menu descriptions of the soup so that patrons can make an informed decision. The food in Ocean City in my opinion is not the best at the shore. There are no real foodie destination restaurants here. For that you have to go to Cape May several beaches away. Ocean City is mostly for families so they cater to family budgets and tastes. Spadafora's is one of the few true Jersey shore type fish shacks in Ocean City. Because of that there are usually lines and a wait. It is not great but it is fresh sea food and one of the few if not the only fish shacks in Ocean City. Plus it is close to the board walk so the location is convenient. Worst food experience I have had in a really long time. We are local so I totally get how holiday weekends are but that gives you no right to treat your customers like trash. It came with corn on the cob and a baked potato (which I had to send back due to a giant moldy spot, but whatever. It was replaced quickly). My husband ordered the swordfish with the citrus sauce (the waitress made sauce recommendations that complimented each type of fish- two perfectly polished thumbs up!) He ordered the mixed vegetables as a side, and they were fresh and crisp. The kid's menu offers the usual chicken fingers and grilled cheese, but there are fresh fish options that I appreciated. The waitress was friendly and efficient. The food was reasonably priced. We looked at the menu and the seafood option appealed to us so we put our name down and waited about 30 minutes to be seated. I really enjoyed the food here, which is why my experience at spadaforas was so unfortunate. I came into the store around 6pm with a friend of mine to pick up take-out food. When we walked in, ALL of the guys behind the register proceeded to stare at us and clearly whisper to each other about our appearances. One looked at me and audibly made a comment comparing our looks and expressing which of us they "preferred". As we waited for our food, we were then forced into conversation with an employee over the counter who asked us personal questions including our ages, as well as whether we would join him at the bar that night. The entire 15 minutes that we were in the store we were noticeably oggled and it made us both want to leave. As a college-aged girl, I felt very uncomfortable having to dodge advances, allow disrespectful comments and ignore sexualized glances from multiple members of the all-male and college-aged staff. Spadafora's store managers should not allow this kind of treatment of customers by their own employees. I will unfortunately not be returning, and I do not recommend this establishment for young women. read more

Very mediocre food. For a place at the ocean I'd expect it to be at least as good as Red Lobster. Sadly with RL as a gauge this place disappoints. The atmosphere is cute, but cramped. The fish was very blan, the shrimp were dry, the scoop of lump crab cake was okay but nothing special, and the lobster tail was sorely disappointing. My wife had stuffed flounder, which was also disappointing. She said hers was also very tasteless and she even had to add salt just to bring out any flavor. My father in law had the stuffed flounder (same as my wife did) and he actually enjoyed his - although he is the least picky eater I know. My mom had the same dish I had and was pretty disappointed too. My mother in law doesn't eat seafood so she just got a cheeseburger which she also was disappointed with. She said it was dry. Worst part was the prices were just as expensive as Red Lobster, so there was the constant knowledge that we were overpaying for underpar food. Not recommended. read more

I ordered the scallops and shrimp and it didn't scream "fresh". Upon the recommendation of wait staff I ordered the corn but was given coke slaw instead. This is my favorite spot at the beach! I look forward to coming here every year for our annual family vacation - all the way from Arizona! First off, we came at the right time, maybe 330/4pm - there was NO LINE. We always time our meals here at off peak dining time when we go because there's limited seating & usually line. It's with the wait either way, but do this & you won't regret it, especially when it's full sun & hot out! The ice is crushed & the cups are plastic - my fave. The fountain coke was good & so was the sweet raspberry tea (not fountain or brewed onsite, but brewed locally). We started off with a bowl of lobster bisque. It's hands down the best I've EVER had - so fresh, creamy, full of large lobster chunks, piping hot, & served with the best oyster crackers. It's a very generous serving for the bowl, I took some of mine to go. For our mains I had the shrimp cocktail (6 shrimp) & he had the lump crab meat cocktail (a little more than a cups worth) - both were excellent. The cocktail sauce might also be the best I've had, looks like it has pepper in it. We're going to the spadaforas market tomorrow to pick up some seafood salad for the road & I'm hoping they sell that too. Also, our service was great. Fast, friendly, efficient, & kept our drinks full. Even sent me out with a to go cup. Can't wait to eat there again tomorrow & am sad it'll be a whole year until I get to do it again. This place is good for what it is... Just To grab some seafood while in Ocean City and while by the water. This is no gourmet restaurant, but it is no fast food restaurant either. It is okay, but it does seem like a good option (and strategically located) while staying in the area. Ocean city is a family town so they do not serve liquor here, or anywhere. The lobster bisque, which everyone raved about in the reviews (and so did our server) was okay. It wasn't horrible and it wasn't the best. It was good and a good value. We got the mix and stuffed filet as meals. The mix was good. The stuffed fish with crabmeat was good, but it wasn't as lean as I am used to. The baked potato was good, as well. I like that they give you different options of sides and you can choose any 2 with the meal. Please note that this is not a 4 star establishment. Rather, it is a place that gets 4 stars for the category that it is in. Reservations the day before, or the same day, are highly recommended, especially during peak summer months. read more

My girlfriend and I went to this place for dinner. This is our third time here... the food is ok. Price is a higher then what other charge. My biggest problem is the staff/management. For example, my girlfriend and I got here at 4, table next to us at 4:15 and people on the opposite side of the room at 4:30.
