I was looking for a salon after 2 other places were not for me. I wanted something welcoming and relaxed. I found Spalon and am thrilled to be a client. April is so wonderful, and I always feel so great after getting my hair done. She is a talented stylist and colorist and so warm and friendly. Donna and Cheryl are also great. I enjoy going there. The salon is clean, professional and extremely relaxed and soothing. If you want a great experience then this is the salon for you. They are just the very BEST! This place is beautifully decorated and clean. You can tell that the owners, April and Donna, take pride in the salon. They always are there to greet you and always have a positive attitude. I went and had my hair done by Jeanine. She did an excellent job at analyzing my hair for color. She had come highly recommended by a friend. She did a great job with my color and cut and had a very pleasant demeanor. She recommended Kerin for my brow wax and I was very pleased with the results. The relaxation area is quite lovely and was nicely secluded for the hair and nail area. All and all, I was very impressed with this salon and will be going back! read more

This is the first time my wife and I have been to Spalon. Contacted a childhood mutual friend Merri White Russo. Walking in I was very impressed. The atmosphere was very professional. There's a separate room for non-clients to wait in comfort, allowing the stylist to devote their entire attention to the client. I've viewed Merri's work on Facebook and it was absolutely top notch!! It's far between visits for me at any salon. But this is the first time in twenty years that I have left feeling beautiful, pretty, and confident in a haircut! Merri was polite, honest, and quick. First, I think the address on here should be 770 Aquidneck Ave and not 77.... My mom and I are from out of town and visited Spalon last week on the day of my brother's wedding. We had "wash and style" appointments with Merri. Merri was extremely nice and we both left very pleased with how she had done our hair for the big day. The salon is also nice and clean. It's not huge or over the top fancy but everyone we spoke with was pleasant and down-to-earth. The waiting area is comfortable and has coffee and cold drinks. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because we didn't use any of the other services - cut, color, etc. But I would definitely go back if I needed an appointment in the area and would recommend this place to others. read more

After a disastrous cut at another salon I really needed help. I checked out salon reviews on YELP and happened upon Spalon. Their reviews seemed genuine and struck a chord with me so I called the salon this morning. Luckily there had been a cancellation and I was able to get an appointment during my lunch hour today. The moment I entered Spalon and was greeted warmly by the receptionist most of my nervousness disappeared. She showed me where to hang my coat and offered what seemed like an endless list of beverages. I felt very welcome, something I haven't felt in a salon in a long time. In short order I was introduced to my stylist April, who is one of the owners. She was awesome!! She put me instantly at ease and got to work. I have baby-fine hair which can be very difficult to cut. She knew EXACTLY how to help me out of the mess that was left by another stylist. I love my new hair style (!) and now I can't imagine ever having anyone else cut my hair. Before I left the the receptionist took the time to show me the rest of Spalon. They have dedicated rooms for waxing, pedicures/manicures, massages and facials. Somehow it's both a beautiful space and very warm....no stuffiness or pretentiousness that I've experienced at other salons. I can't recommend Spalon enough and can't wait to visit again! read more
