Spanky's was right around the corner from the resort we were staying at, and after driving by multiple times a day, we decided to give it a try. The Yelp reviews helped sway me too. It was just OK to me. Nothing spectacular, but at the same time, I wasn't disappointed. I kept reading about their "eggrolls" and it seems like many places down here in Myrtle Beach serve the same. I chose the BBQ and Mac & Cheese and dinner salad. The eggrolls were good. Nothing spectacular, but different. My husband got the Reuben and Pub Chips. I wish I ordered the Pub Chips because they were so crispy and delicious!!!! One of the benefits of the Kids Meals is they serve it in a souvenir frisbee, which is actually a pretty good idea. Prices were good and food was about average. I didn't love the seating inside, there wasn't very much of it, however, it is a small place. So many things to love about Spankys! Love that the mascot is a beloved Boston Terrier. We came for the egg rolls, which were highly recommended by friends. We got the bacon and Mac and cheese as well as an off the menu barbecue and Mac and cheese. These things are huge! So delicious and probably something we'll dream of after we go back home. Yelp never lets us down! We had just gotten settled into our condo after a long travel day. Starving, and needing beers, we checked yelp and Spankys was close by. I am actually bummed we didn't get a chance to go back during our vacation we enjoyed it so much. The outside does not match the inside at all. When you walk in, it is super inviting and clean! TV's for the game, and a good size chalk board showing the beer selection. The service was very nice and friendly, and had no problem listed off beers and offering samples. After we had our brews, it was time to order dinner! There were 3 of us, we had burgers and a chicken sandwich. Burgers were exactly what we wanted! A great bar burger!! Don't expect to get your food before at least an hour or hour and a half. Yes, this is true even if they aren't busy because when we arrived, there were only 2 other people in the restaurant. If you run out of drinks, that's too bad because you likely won't have anyone bother to check on you to refill them. Also, don't expect the waitstaff or management to be polite, considerate, or apologetic for their poor service and tardiness. 2 hours later and a $100 tab for some lukewarm appetizers and 2 entrees. Save yourself some time and frustration and skip this spot. Try Callie Bakers, Finn McCools, Flip Flops, or Ocean Annies instead. All are in the same area around Kings Road/Shore Drive and are much better. read more

We were so happy to find this little place to watch the college bowl games. It was perfect for our purposes and the service was friendly. It seemed to be filled with locals; many people knew each other. There are a few big tvs, easy to see from the bar or any of the high top tables. They had good happy hour specials, we took advantage of the bourbon and cokes for $3 and the $2.25 bud lights. We ate soft pretzels, wings and pulled pork sliders. Also on happy hour specials. The pretzels with seemingly house made queso were really good. We got the sriracha ranch sauce on our boneless wings. It was probably the best wing sauce I've ever had, no joke. It was so delicious! We searched Yelp! for a dog-friendly restaurant and decided to try Spankys. We are so glad we did! It's located in a nice little spot across from a golf course with indoor and outdoor dining. Prices were pretty average for the area. We had our dog with us and sat outside with her. Our server was so amazingly friendly and attentive, never had to ask for refills on drinks or wait long for anything, including our food! She even brought out water for our dog. I think the only thing I could say negatively is that some of the fans in the outdoor seating area were broken but we had a nice breeze anyway. We recommend this place 100%!! read more

My husband and I happened upon this place on accident while we were heading toward the busier part of town to find food. We'd just walked 7+ miles down the beach and we were hungry and our dogs were barking (Spanky is a dog, haha). It was 11:30 when we stumbled across it, and they didn't open until 12:00, so we plopped down on their patio to rest our weary legs and wait for them to open. About ten minutes later, here comes the server telling us the kitchen won't be open for another twenty minutes or so, but can she get us something to drink!!! So awesome! We ordered the Mac 'n Cheese rolls (amazing), the fried pickles (amazing), the pork sliders (amazing), and my husband got a huge build-it-yourself burger which he described as "reeeeally good". We recommend ordering the cucumber wasabi dressing for the pickles (and everything else actually, it was delish). The first time we tried the Mac & Cheese Eggrolls, the Pulled Pork Sandwich & pasta salad, and the Shrimp Po Boy. Everything was delicious! The pulled pork was wonderful and the pasta salad was very close to my own homemade recipe. You can tell that not only do they care about the quality of the food, but both nights the bartenders were fun, welcoming and cheerful. Cute local bar/pub we visited while on vacation. Located across from Arcadia Shores golf course it was a short walk from our oceanfront resort. Menu included burgers, wings and salads. Then I asked the waitress- who was nice when we ordered but TERRIBLY RUDE when I asked how much longer. It will be a long time she said. How long I said? She asked -Do you want to cancel? No I don't want to cancel I said I just want to know how much longer. 30 more minutes- Then brings out a salad I ordered (IN A TO GO BOX W NO SILVERWARE). Yes it was another 30 minutes... I understand being backed up. But With 2 hungry teenagers It would have been better to been notified when I ordered. Definitely will not be back. This pub house is a little off the beaten path, but so worth finding. The interior is small. There's seating for around 24 at tables as well as seating at the bar. They also have patio seating for when weather permits--which, let's face it--is the majority of the year in Myrtle Beach. It is, however, plenty roomy enough to feel comfortable and allow ease of access to every part of the pub. They offer a few things that your average pub doesn't, like several egg roll renditions, customizable burgers with loads of toppings, and pudding dessert shots. We've never ordered alcohol here, but during our two visits, it's obvious their spirits are popular. They have a wide range of beer and liquors. The service has always been great. They strike a perfect balance between not-over friendly but still taking filling up our teas every time they got less than half full. Sometimes football bars can get obnoxious with fans, but the fans that seem to frequent this place are friendly. We had the pleasure of arriving at the end of a particularly riveting game last night, and the fans were a pleasure to be around. So, in short. Go there for food. Go there for football. Go there for drinks. Either way, you're going to leave happy. read more
