Fun lanes, private lanes are nice, arcade full of different things to do. Food is ok and on par with what I thought it would be.

The drinks are v good. Super fun place for a snack and hangs with friends. The bartender was very sweet and fixed my wrong drink order

Went on a Saturday night and I have to say the service was horrible. We ordered drinks that took so long we had to go back to check if the bartender forgot about us (we ordered vodka waters) he looked like he was in training but that drink should not be difficult to make. We hit the service button to order some food but no one came. The waitress was just holding up the wall and only came over to pick the empty glasses of the people that left next to us. She didn't ask if we needed anything at all. Over all, it was a horrible night and there are way better places to go where service is 10 times better. Hopefully they can diagnose the issue but I'm not holding my breath. The sad part is that this place is relatively new. read more

This review is based on us going on a Sunday morning, so definitely not peak hours and it was my hubby and 4 year old bowling. It was about $40 for us to bowl for an hour, little pricey but we all had a good time. Wish they had more lane specials. I thought food was tasty we ordered a personal pizza and southwest type egg rolls. We had an attentive server. Great music playing but music video was blurry most of the time. I really liked the automatic bumpers for my son, they came down for the adults which is nice. Overall fun family experience. read more

Everything was ok. Food was good and people were nice. My problem is the scam that spare time has going on to get an extra couple bucks out of its customers. So leagues play all week from Monday thru Thursday. They have specials that advertise 8 dollar from 8 pm on. But here is the kicker all the regular lanes are full so you can upgrade to the pin room for just 2 dollars extra. Ya it's not worth it. I will just go back to main event at least they are honest and have more lanes. Also main event doesn't have leagues playing when they have a special going on. read more

We came here for the first time, on a Friday night. They put us on an hour and a half wait time for a lane. No big deal since we were hungry and wanted to eat first. We sat down and waited nearly 25min before we decided to leave. No one came to our table to greet us or take a drink order during that wait time. They had one server for the restaurant part of the facility on a Friday night, and two guys with facility shirts having a break at one of the booths. The people were friendly, but seems like management needs to do a better job at making sure the place is well staffed on a day when families will probably be out and about. Doubt we'll be back and we definitely won't be recommending this place to anyone. read more

Our first experience was terrible on a Friday evening and a few months of it just opening, so we thought let's give it another try in a few months on a non busy day Tuesday mid day 2pm not organized at all we waited a long time for bowling shoes and finding someone to take our order but once we got our bowling shoes and our drinks arrived we just enjoyed bowling and it was at least nice to have a bowling place close to home. We dared to go again 3rd time we took our nephew to play just in the arcade/games recently on Wednesday Wow so different great service at 1pm very helpful and Nephew was happy & the meditation salad was very good, Nephew enjoyed his cheese pizza. The inside of this place is clean, well it's also relatively new so we will see in a couple years. It only has 14 lanes, so if if you have plenty of time to wait, then this is the place for you. I could have driven to MAin event and got a lane faster than this place. I honestly think they forgot to input our number because I saw ppl walk in the door after us and get a lane before us. Anyway. Unfortunately I have to give them two stars. I came here with my daughter for some quality time. I paid a little extra for the "Pin House", which was empty. We were 3/4 of the way through the first game when in came the thunder... a group of 8-10... 8 year olds. Now understand the pin house is empty, we were in lane 21, which left lanes 15-20 open. Where did they put them.... right... lane 19 and 20. Needless to say any type of bonding was smothered out by the screaming and etiquette was ... well there was none. The kids over ran the place. I get it, they are kids, but you would have thought that management would have taken this into consideration when the assigned lanes. Heck! The place is very nice & clean, but it's way too expensive for a family of 6! We spent almost $40 to bowl one game! It takes forever when you have little kids, but they charge you the same no matter the ages of the kids. We even looked at the specials & they weren't a great deal when you have that many people to pay for. I really wish they charged less for kids bowling. That would make way more sense. We were excited about this place opening, but will probably not be back often. read more

My husband, 16 year old daughter, and her boyfriend decided to try out Spare Time in Pflugerville the day before Christmas Eve. Our experience was, by far, the worst we've ever had at any place of recreation. We arrived about 9:00 pm wanting to bowl. The young lady behind the counter told us about a special package they have on Wednesday nights - $11.99 per person for "all you can bowl" laser tag, and $10 blitz cards. We thought that was a pretty good deal, so my husband gave them his credit card. As the receipt was printing, another Spare Time employee walked up and proceeded to hand us a pager. She informed us there was an hour wait for a lane. We all kind of looked at each other, and my husband told the employees that would have been nice to know before we paid. Right off the bat, none of the blitz cards had anything loaded on them. We went back to the counter, stood in line, and waited for new ones. Same two young ladies behind the counter. They called over a manager, and he went in search of valid cards. He returned a few minutes later with valid cards, and we headed back to the arcade. Most of the games are at least a dollar, so we went through them fairly quick. No complaints about that part of the visit; all arcade games tend to suck up game credits fast. We told the kids to go onto the laser tag, but they returned very fast to tell us that they couldn't find anyone in charge of the laser tag area. We finally found someone who told us it would be another 20 minutes before the next session. Husband and I went up to the bowling counter to inquire how much longer we'd have to wait, and the guy at that desk said at least another 30 minutes. We wandered over to the lanes and watched the bowlers for the rest of the wait. 30 minutes later, our pager went off. The kids still hadn't had a chance to do laser tag, so we told them we'd play the first game without them while they went. We returned to the bowling counter to pick up shoes for the kids (husband and I have our own shoes and balls) and to find out what lane we were on. By this time, it was a bit after 10:00. The guy working the counter asked how long we wanted the lane, and we told him until close at midnight. He got a little testy, said we couldn't have it that long because other people were on a wait list and they wanted to make sure everyone had fun. My husband reminded him that the deal we signed up for was "all you wanted to bowl" and that we'd already waited an hour. He relented and said we could have the lane until close. The kids went to play laser tag, and my husband and I went to our lane and got set up to play the first game. It was crowded, lots of teens, which isn't a problem for us. However, we do expect courtesy from those bowling next to us. None of that was to be found, unfortunately. About midway through our first game, the kids returned. We all decided to order a drink, and hit the service button. Employee comes over, and we ask if they sell Coke products. He says they do, so we order a Diet Coke, regular Coke, and two iced teas. Then we wait. During that time, we finish our first game, add the kids to the score card, and are half way through our second game with no drinks. Push the service button again, and a different server comes up. We repeat our order. He informs us they only have Pepsi products. We tell him the last person told us they had Coke, and he asked if the guy was in a grey shirt. Yes, he was. The new server says the first guy isn't a server and doesn't know what they have. We place a new order, and the drinks arrive. One of the kids gets a regular Pepsi, and it's all CO2, with a splash of Pepsi in it. Husband hits the service button again, a third server comes up, and he asks for a new Pepsi as well as an adult beverage. Server leaves to get the new Pepsi, comes back a few minutes later with a replacement which is fine, but not the adult beverage. She tells husband that they don't carry what he wanted. Ok, no problem. While all of this is going on, the people playing next to us leave, and new people come in. They put 8 people on each lane next to us, teens who were out to have a good time. Again, that's fine, we know we're not in league play and don't expect too much out of rec bowlers. However, these kids were beyond discourteous. Three and four of them at a time going up to "help" a friend bowl, then some of them started tossing around a rubber ball. At one point, it hit my husband in the back of the leg as he was bowling. They were oblivious to what was happening in the lanes next to them, literally wandering in front of other bowlers, and even laying down in other lanes. Management does nothing. Frustrated, we finished our third game and left. We were so disappointed, and will not be returning. We live in Round Rock, and were so happy to have a new bowling alley close to us. We'll be going back to Mel's in Georgetown from now on. read more

We had never been here prior to our grandsons birthday party. We selected the Big Blitz Party Package (Bowling & Laser Tag). We had an Awesome Party Hostess named Krystal, she gave us instructions on exactly how everything was going to take place during the party. She took care of us & made this occasion a memorable one for my grandson. Our guest had a wonderful time, the food was great, the amenities the venue had to offer were family friendly. Went to Spare Time to celebrate a friend's birthday and was not disappointed! We went on a Monday and there was a special - $10 for unlimited arcade gaming, bowling and laser tag. It was definitely a steal. You can't earn tickets for the games played but I think that's a fair trade off since gaming is unlimited. The only complaint I would have is that the drinks and food took a little longer than I would expect for how slow it was that night, but our server was really friendly and we were bowling so it wasn't too big of a deal. Thought it would be better but not worth my time. Went their and they had no bowling lanes available and the wait was 2 hours. The little dining area they have was full of dishes on tables and we waited 10 minutes before the waitress came and asked what our order was. Once we got our food, they forgot a side order but their was no one around to tell. So we ate our entire meal before our waitress came back and asked if theirs anything she could get us. Never going back, not worth it. Main Event or any other place is better. Especially if you are looking for a place to play games go somewhere else. We ordered from the restaurant and the service was prompt, not to mention the sandwich and fries were actually good. Not only was the manager, Jeremy, extremely patient and helpful with our large group but so were the game room attendant, the front desk employee, and the bar tender. We were there late on a Saturday night with a lot of children and they went way out of their way to accommodate us. On the surface this is a great place, we went there last night and it was a great atmosphere, it was playing great music, the staff was friendly, but as soon as we got on the lanes that's when everything went downhill. The lanes were so dry, neither of us were able to slide on the lane on our follow through. We thought maybe it was just one bad spot and tried to accommodate for it, but that was not the case, they were just completely dry. They were so dry in fact that since I was unable to slide, I ended up turning my ankle. Fortunately, management did agree to give us our money back since we were only able to use 15 minutes of the hour that we paid for, but unfortunately by the time he arrived to give us our refund, almost another 15 minutes ticked off the clock since we stopped so we only got a portion of our money back. The team admitted that they polish the floor only once a day and so the later you come in the day the worst the floors are. It seems that if this is the primary draw for your business that you should care for your floors more regularly. I've never been to a place where the lanes were that dry that it prohibited one from being able to slide on the surface and I've been bowling for years. read more

This is a fairly small bowling alley with only 14 lanes. Decent drink and food menus, mostly hamburgers and pizza. As for the quality of the fair, it's a bowling alley. Service is incredibly slow. It took twenty minutes for two Mexican martinis. The food took about forty-five minutes to come out. The dining area was totally empty, so there is no excuse for how long it took. By the time the food arrived, our lane was ready, so we had to carry everything over. I don't plan on coming back. read more

We had a blast bowling here. The lanes were nice and they had cool themes for the screens. However, THE WAIT STAFF IS HORRIBLE!!!! When we first got to Spare Time there was a 30 minute wait so we sat near the bar and ordered drinks and food. It took forever to get an order in and then it took even longer to get our order. When the order came out it was incorrect. There was a manager working as a food carrier so he changed our order and took other orders. By the time our orders came out our lane was ready. The manager brought our food to the lane and said the waitress would be there shortly to help us if we needed anything else. Well.....SHE NEVER CAME!!! We even pressed the service button on the lane and still no one came to help us. We bowled for two hours and no service. They definitely need to hire more people or maybe better people. Went to spare time twice already, first time was when it opened and second time this past weekend. Food is okay for what you pay for at least for what we ate, the philly cheese fries are good, and the wings are okay it's the little bone in wings nothing like the other wings restaurants. Arcade is good/average and thw bowling alley is nice. Laser tag for a 13v13 is to big for that tiny little room they should make it 7v7 tops. Biggest complaint would be that on the first day we reserved our place for two bowling lanes since it was a big party and we were told it was an hour wait and ended up being around 2 hours and when we went to go ask about it they were kind of giving us the run around until the owners walked in to check up on the place. The whole atmosphere of the employees changed and everything was done right away. Second time we went it was the same thing we reserved and told it was an hour wait and we ended up waiting for two hours after we went to go find out why it was taking so long they seemed frustrated and were giving us excuses. They gave us an extra free hour but by the time we finally got our lanes it was already 10 or so and we were already feeling tired since we had gotten there at 7 so we just did one hour and left. Not a bad place, the special deals are good but employees and management seem to get overwhelmed easily and things get lost in the process I do agree with better training and trying to streamline things more efficient. My husband, the kids and I were really excited to go here for the first time as we have watched it being built for months. We put on our silly socks and coats and headed out only to find out the rest of Pflugerville and neighboring towns were also sold on "$2 Tuesday" night. We got there at 5:20, it started at 5pm and the parking lot was packed. I guess there had been a line since 4:30... for a bowling alley!?!? No thanks. We walked in and were told pretty much not to bother with bowling because the wait was already 2 hours long. Way to pop our super stoked family bubble 5 steps into the building, teenager! Dad and I looked at each other and thought, "How is this possible, it's only 5:20, it just started." Anyway, we came to bowl and play laser tag so we were going to put our names in regardless. So we stood in line for 15 minutes to add our name to the bowling wait list and then another 20 minutes for the laser tag list. Apparently there were parties allowed to be booked on $2 Tuesday so lanes were blocked and laser tag was shut down completely for an hour. What brainiac came up with this business model? A bunch of families now stuck having to pour a ton of money into the arcade to keep their kids happy for hours if they make it that long. How is it possible that its called Sparetime but you really only partially cater to bowling?? No where near enough lanes. So after our arcade card was empty and we had our $20 parachute and slinky prizes we made one last attempt to check the wait list. An hour had gone by and there were still 50 people in front of us. Two very disappointed crying kids and 2 super annoyed parents left and can't wait to hit up Mel's soon. Ugh, we were really looking forward to the bowling alley being so close. read more
