    Salty cheese fries - Nasty
    Karla H.

We had visited this restaurant a few years ago when we stayed at Kalahari & we didn't like it. During this stay, I thought maybe it had improved but I was wrong. The service at the hosts desk was the beginning of a very bad experience. They were not friendly or welcoming at all!! I specifically asked for a table but she didn't care to make that note. They simply took my name & number & said you'll get a text when it's ready. About 35 minutes later, we got the text and it was unclear who was going to show us to our table, we were finally escorted to a booth, we asked for a table & he just walked back to the front without saying anything soooo we just followed and found ourselves just walking in circles. Finally, we sat down and then it took about 10 minutes before we called on a waiter passing by and he happened to be our waiter. It was almost closing time on a Tuesday so we just ordered our drinks & food. My daughter asked for the pecker fries with NO meat. Well, when we got the food it had fried chicken on it, which was also very hard & gross. Our "sweet tea" was more like water with a hint of tea. We hardly saw the waiter, we were tired, thirsty, hungry & ready to go so we didn't complain. The Caesar salad was okay, my mom liked the chili & my son also ordered a chocolate milkshake & thought it would be a simple shake but instead, it was this huge thing... so he wasn't happy. We didn't get silverware so we had to ask for some from the lady who brought the food. We never got any refills or asked if we needed anything. It was just a horrible experience. Do yourself a favor & just skip this place. It's NOT worth it. We paid $81 for a shake, fries with hard fried chicken, a cup of chili & a Caesar salad with shrimp. I should've just gotten some tacos from the Mexican restaurant on site or driven to get food somewhere....

This is located next to the Tom Fullery Adventure Center. This restaurant has bar seating, dining room seating and a bowling alley. We sat in the dining room. We came for the desserts since we saw the pictures and hug shake in front of the restaurant. The shakes are HUGE! The Oreo Shake was delicious and definitely needs to be shared. They also offer a mint, peanut butter, banana pudding, birthday cake and donut shake. This is a great place to eat with the family anytime of the day.

Heads up! We made a reservation here from out of town and much to our surprise, it's connected to a children's amusement park?? So obviously we left haha. Just wanted to make y'all aware bc we weren't! No hate, no shade:)

In the four straight years we have been dining here, my family has never been glutened. Some of them have celiac's disease. I am soo thankful the waiter, Rehan, the chef and manager take this disease seriously. I am also amazed that the chef and manager personally delivered our meals to the table. They showed care and concern. Other vacations have been dampened bc of cross contamination and then getting violently sick bc of it. The food is also very flavorful ie their portobello burger with a surprising double patty and my fave, the salad with candied jalapeños, see photo. It's so huge I always pack leftovers. And of course a big highlight are their over the top milkshakes with donuts or a cupcake ontop.

The food here is really good. Obviously. You gotta expect that. It's gonna be expensive since it's inside of a resort. But I'll tell you get the donut shake. Oh my gosh, this thing is huge, sweet and so delicious. The service was great. My life had one problem with the Nacho. She didn't like it. Server was like no problem. Let me take that back. What do you want? And we were able to switch out for a burger. Such a good server, casual ambiance, lots of kids inside of a resort loud, but very fun, highly recommend. If you want a nice juicy burger, nice shake with some fun for the family for the kids. It's a good time

We came for dinner on a Sunday night and were pleasantly surprised to be seated immediately without any wait. The kids enjoyed their meals, which made the evening even better for us. I enjoyed the hatch chile burger. The server warned me it would be queso on top of the burger. Good flavor and that is exactly what I wanted which is a spicy burger! Lots of points for playing the Olympics on the tv. As we were finishing our meal, we noticed the servers were getting busier with other customers, but they still managed to provide attentive service. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and we appreciated the prompt seating and kid-friendly atmosphere.

Hand lunch with my cousins. Got an app and some wings. The wings were fine but didn't realize that it didn't include fries and it was separate. It is a bit price for what was served but they were decent. My cousin got a burger and said it was good. The service was good. The guy came and checked up on us a couple of times and did refill our waters. If I were to go again, I would probably go on the other side of the bar where they have the bowling alley to enjoy our time and have some apps.

Lots of choices for burgers to choose from. All with totally different toppings you would not think go well together. Atmosphere was semi loud but it is park of a family water park. Prices are reasonable for being a tourist place. Milkshakes are HUGE! Did not indulge this time, maybe next. Started out with the 3 dip and chips. Very tasty. Loved the bacon ranch dip the best. Have the cowboy burger. Hard to get my mouth around it. Very large. Cute that the logo is pressed into the top bun. Home made chips very good. Service was a tad lacking but friendly. Many times drinks emptied and not refilled.

For this to be a large and busy resort, the restaurant was really cleaned and the food arrived in impressive amount of time. All entrees were good with the exception of the butterfly shrimp being a little too battered for our liking. The service was good, and the manager addressed the fried shrimp dislike and made a great suggestion for a substitute with the firecracker shrimp.

Not a fan of burger places. Food was great I had wedge salad and chicken wings. There were 9 of us for a bday after spa dinner. The server was nice but couldn't keep up with the crowd's needs. Forgot quite important things such as shrimp on the salad, dressing on the salad etc it's in a good location if you're there for the kids and the video games. Retribution: Free desert for the bday lady. Loud as expected.

Tina was a great waitress because I have a very picky child. She was fast cause we wanted to be fast and didn't take it personally offensively and we really enjoyed the food. They have a lot of great options and their shakes are so worthy, but we weren't in the mood for a shake. The ambiance is fun!

We opted for a package that included an hour of bowling, food & drinks for the kids, and a $10 arcade game gift card per child. This package was pretty affordable at $18 per child. They have add one such as goody bags and food/drink options for adults. We added a couple food platters for adults and the goody bags. Pros: - Affordable and convenient - low stress - kids had an absolute blast Cons: - Overall service was very average and slow. Inexperienced party host staff. - Room wasn't set up / ready until bowling was nearly done. - Upon arriving at the venue we learned that they didn't have goody bags available that day. This was disappointing because I would've expected a heads up at least one day in advance so that we can make other arrangements. They did provide an extra $10 on each child's game card to make up for it, which was nice.

Then several hours later we were notified that our party needed to be pushed back to 2:30pm because of a buyout, ok sure. Main Event coordinator apologized and offered items to make up for the mistake and booking issue. Then I noticed on the contact a 12% service fee ($46 and some change), I asked the event coordinator and she explained that the 12% goes to the event host/server. This was not the case it was a 12% booking fee that goes to the front office staff. WOW! 12% to book online?!?! Seriously?! The server was the one who explained it to me. When I asked the manager on duty she gave me attitude and basically said "you signed the contract so you have to pay it". The day of the party it didn't seem like everyone was on the same page, our host/server did the best he could and apologized several times but it was out of his hands. The pizza came out late and the wings arrived 40 minutes after the pizza. The pizza was not hot and the wing platter turned out to be wings, tenders and nuggets. We ate the wings and tried to return the tenders and nuggets but no manager came to the table. We took care of the host/server with cash tip but we definitely don't recommend this place for birthday parties or gatherings.

There is a pretty great selection of games at Tom Foolery. I do wish they had an NBA Jam style arcade machine or more "mature" games like Halo and Walking Dead, but beggars can't be choosers. So, the 3 stars is for the activities experience and not the allergen food experience. If I did rate the food experience, it would have been negative stars, but because I don't expect Austin's to fix it, I am not factoring that into the rating I am giving them. But, I want to write the review to let other gluten free patrons know not to expect any precautions to be taken when preparing the GF pizza. My daughter is 17 and asked for the GF pizza and asked if the cook could change their gloves. The lady said no and she also told my daughter it didn't matter anyway because they would not use foil under the pizza or a clean slicer. So the pizza may as well have been a regular one with that much cross-contamination. The other reviews I saw on yelp about the GF experience made us hopeful that Austin's actually tried. But, that's not the case at all. I have always told my daughter that celiac disease is her cross to bear and not to expect others to cater to her needs. It's always very refreshing to find restaurants that are 100% GF or that take precautions because we know how special that is, but for those that don't, we can't fault them for it because it's not anyone's duty to care for her but us. So, those are places we just don't go to. So, activities are 3 stars, they are average. And food, I did not rate. Those with celiac, eat before you go is my advice. They have huge signs outside that outside food and drink are not allowed. I don't know if they would allow anything to be taken in for those with allergies. It wasn't worth it for us to ask. My husband joked that it should be a place for summer camps. 4 of our group didn't want the buffet and got burgers and taquitos from the restaurant. my husband is quite the food snob and said that the burger was awesome and gave me a bite. I agreed. The bacon was like a thick cut slab of pork belly. If I didn't enjoy the salad bar so much I would definitely get the burger, but I can have the best of both worlds and eat some of his next time. Their inside arcade has so many options and the games all work. I'm just so grateful that this place exists. Austin's management - you're doing an incredible job. We are fans!
