I current live in an area that only sparkling services. Thank God AT&T and others are working to bring service in to my area. Can't wait to drop sparklight. As of my writing this. Our internet has been down over 5 hours. This happens very often. Also love how they claim to give a rebate on my bill but it miraculously never appears. I feel Sparklight takes advantage of us on a limited income. Senior citizens on Social Security living in W. Columbia TX. We don't have anything to choose from. My t.v. and phone need internet to run. The outages are tremendous. I called to have a serviceman come out. I confirmed my apot. He never showed. What is it going to take. It's been a week. I'm now at my daughter's so I can use her internet and my phone so I can let you know how disappointed I am. Ok, I just got this TODAY. But I'm ecstatic with 106-110 download speed I'm getting now. We had no WiFi for MONTHs after 2 trips by *other ISP in town*'s tech & 2 no shows (them). Dealing with getting their TV part shut off & costing so much extra when the WiFi part didn't work was an absolute nightmare, took forever on lots of calls w foreign people who had no clue & refused to give me an American or customer retention. Ordered Newwave online. Supposed to get $10 off per mo for 1st 6 mo. Bought my own Motorola MG7550 modem/router combo to save rental fee. Activation fee was $35 & first months,' no deposit w good (instant) credit check. Got 100 Mbps speed plan w extra $40 per mo for unltd data. I was nervous when no one answered the phone locally to confirm the install, but the night before an autobot called to confirm, & everything went as planned. Was super easy to set up. Tech was very quick & efficient. I'm comforted with having a local office (also, it does not appear that calling is useful w them). Will update if significant problems occur. read more

The most unstable internet service I've ever had in my life. It would be funny if I wasn't working from home and very much needed a secure connection. If you have another broadband option, look into it because Sparklight has left me in a lurch more times than I can count. read more

I can say they are a terrible provider. They raise rates and restrict your data plan. Now they are at it again. We pay over $70 a month and you never know if you will have service at all. Unfortunately they are the only provider for internet access n our small town. We had unlimited data and now they are only allow a max 300 Gig per month. We have multiple users who watch Netflix, Amazon Prime, Amazon Music and just using Internet for shopping and Facebook. New Wave is crap. read more

Internet keeps going down randomly and often randomly just quits and it's sucks really bad

I was told between 8-12, someone would hook up service for internet. They called again and put between 10:30 and 11:30. Then again between 11:15-12:15. Then NO ONE SHOWED. I called at 1:15 and they claim the door was tagged and I wasn't home. Walked outside, because I've been here all morning and no tag on the door. Then they keep me on hold to get another tech out here for over an hour? This isn't a company I would want to be with or trust. read more

Of all the states I've lived (six) *including after hurricanes* this is by far the least reliable and most expensive internet service provider I have ever had. We had to get a pod/mesh system so the Internet would reach our whole house because even the biggest modem wouldn't cover the house (not a huge house either). And the service goes out at least twice a week on the good weeks, and around once a day on the bad weeks. Unfortunately, it is the only cable internet provider in our area, and they take full advantage of that pitfall by offering sub-par service at a price higher than I've paid in bigger cities (think Orlando, etc). I wish there were more options, but it is what it is so we have to just deal with it. read more

Spark light has bought out New Wave......Spark-light so far gets a 1 on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best Called them to adjust our amplifier and they sent a mid tech and he ran a new cable that fixed nothing How bad is it when we the customer already know the problem and they refuse to fix it by making an adjustment. I have called again and have another scheduled appointmmeant, if they send another mid tech out here, I will cancel my business with Spark-light and many in this town will as well...this has been about a 3 month issue now. Spark light reminds me of Windstream so far horrible on all fronts. If they fix our issue, I will leave a remark, but don't hold your breath. We would be better off with two squirrels in a caged wheel chasing a nut for internet. read more

I have had bad internet for several years now. They have replaced everything in my apartment. They can never figure out why i have bad signal. For years now. I was in a store and "borrowing" wi-fi from a doctor one whole store over and got better signal than i do 20 ' from my modem. read more

Had New Wave for over a year and have experienced the worst customer service. They are incredibly rude. I'm glad to be rid of them.

The internet service was terrible when I used their Modem/Router. I purchased a cheap router and a motorola surfboard modem ($70 at Wal Mart) and all the problems went away. They charge a monthly fee for the equipment, but it was crap. The internet is now very reliable and fast. Almost never down. read more

Installer claimed to call before install but never called and cancelled the appointment. Appointment was rescheduled for install the following Monday but then said they could not find the house even after confirming on the phone with the install tech that we were home. The tech was barely of sound mind enough to call to confirm the appointment but couldn't figure out how to use his own cell phone when on my street to say they couldn't find my house. The last call to them said they rescheduled me for December 31st 2020. They now want me to wait 7 months for the installation. No one there knows what is going on and the techs are horrible. I thought I was with a subpar company before but now know that this company is the absolute worse and are still holding onto my installation that I paid in advance. read more

Unfortunately it is the only internet service available in my area but will drop these jokers as soon as something better is offered in my area. What's really bad is that they know their service is bad and don't care to fix it. Instead they offer customers more expensive packages with the pretext that the customer just needs to upgrade to enhance the experience sooner than later customers, including me, catch onto their scheme. I think pigeons would deliver faster internet speeds if that was a thing but it's not. My plan is the "Streamer and Gamer 200 Plus" that costs $65+$40 with the "Unlimited" data that I had to take my phone off of so that I can use my 5G AT&T connection and come here to write this review being that my not-at-all-supercalifragilisticexpialidoceous connection keeps dropping. I work from home, people! Someone tell Sparklight their spark is dim and to quit asking their employees or stakeholders to write positive reviews in here. In case you all wonder...yes. By far the worst service I've ever had! I pay $150 a month for basic tv, without a box and internet (100mbps) when that's working. They close at 5 which is extremely inconvenient as I don't get off of work until 6! My internet barely works and I burn more data with having internet than not having it. Today everything is down and I'm staring at a blank tv screen because I can't get 1 freaking channel. I never once had this issue with Comcast/xfinity when I had their service for 3 years!!! I cannot wait to move out of my apartment complex and angelton as they have the crappiest internet/Tv provider. I was a little late on my bill due to an honest mistake on my part and they just shut me off with no warning or notifications of any kind. When I inquired about this, they claimed that the service was "soft disconnected" almost a week beforehand, all the while it had still been working just fine. I was then told I would have to pay over $120 just to reconnect service, after I paid the overdue bill earlier that day. The customer service lady I talked to acted like she was reading from a script and didn't show an ounce of care regarding my situation. I even told them the day before that I was planning to pay the bill the next day, and what was their response when the next day came? They fully disconnected me! What a crappy way to treat a customer/do business... Needless to say, I will not be paying this ridiculous reconnect fee and will be taking my money elsewhere. read more

It seems it's routine having to call the customer service number AGAIN, after the ALREADY scheduled service call technician never shows up. Forget about customer service or speaking with a supervisor. The technician was scheduled to come between 8 AM and 12 noon and he even called ahead to say he was coming. He never showed up. When we called to find out what happened they tell us that their notes say that we changed our mind and canceled. So they offer to schedule another day over a week away. Its beyond frustrating to talk to these people who answer their phones. I agree with another reviewer, "Just drop the "service" from your customer service, because all you provide is customer FRUSTRATION at each and every turn. Your reps have zero empathy, your technicians are over-scheduled and under-paid, and as a company, they are unresponsive and worthless." read more

I have had NewWave internet for a year now. It took a little while to get them to correct our service so it would work, this took a lot of compaining and documentation of what was done and when. After they fixed it the internet worked great. However, the billing leaves something to be desired. The bill is very confusing and is not how the website shows it should be. I have questioned this multiple times with no luck in getting it corrected. Most of the time the customer service is good. read more

I'd suggest not listening to the people who say it's good. The only time new wave has done someone right is when they've complained countless times and they decide to finally do something about it. It's the worst internet service provider I've ever had. It performs worse than it claims, and it constantly goes down on a day to day basis. I find myself restarting my router multiple times a day and have to find my own solutions because they don't know what they're doing. It's not even close to being worth what we pay for. I'm switching service as soon as possible. read more

The internet works about 97% of the time, which isn't completely terrible. The problem is the new data plans. We just went back to 1999 with the data caps. I would recommend finding service elsewhere, with a more modern approach. read more

Very disappointed in the customer service I received. I got a NuWave air fryer for Christmas and there were 2 products advertised as included. However, when you call customer service to inquire about the missing products I was not only on hold for over 25 minutes then disconnected before speaking to someone. When I called back, I was informed that those 2 missing products are only available if you purchase directly from the NuWave store. No where in the packaging does it say this. The gift was purchased from the store through Amazon but that was not good enough either. Even though the store uses Amazon as a selling platform, they will not honor the fact that you purchased from their store. I was however, offered an opportunity to purchase these items at the time of my call. Very disappointed in the messaging of the accessories included. There was no indication that they may not be included. Also, there was not offer to amend the poor messaging or customer service. I am very disappointed in both. read more

These people will take your money wrongly - use it and then rather than give it back to you when you call them on it - give you a credit. If you're on a fixed income this will cause problems. My mentally disabled daughter has her bank account debited for her new wave service. They mistakenly charged her an extra $100 When we brought it to their attention they apologized and offered the credit - not the cash. This literally leaves her $100 short for the month - she will have to do without. We explained the problem and they insisted that was all they could do - and when asked - they were not allowed to let us speak to a supervisor. It was ridiculous not to mention fraudulent. I have had New Wave for over 6 months now. At first I would unplug the modem when I was at work or not using it. Then I was told just to keep it plugged in.I'm a former Verizon customer and hadn't been used to unlimited data.There has been a couple times I had trouble connecting but if I unplug the modem for a moment it solves the issue. I could probably live with a lesser plan but I hate buffering.All in all New Wave provides a good unlimited connection at an affordable price. read more

They at first claimed we would have to pay thousands of dollars out of our own pocket to have another pole put in for the wires, but then claimed they would put it on the 2018 agenda. However, called and was able to set up service, good experience and was given a discount for 3 months due to the inconvenience. Angleton, Tx area is very limited on what is available, and ATT is horrible DSL. Giving NW a chance, will post update upon use after 3 months. read more
