Unfortunately, my worst fears were realized when I came here, and I hate leaving negative reviews because I know customer service is a tough job. I'm only sharing my experience in hopes that it helps future customers! I came in wanting the basic wash, but I ended up agreeing to a much more expensive option because I felt pressured in the moment. Looking back, I wish I had stuck with what I originally wanted. After my car wash, I chatted with others and realized the basic wash was exactly what I had been looking for all along! I quickly ran back inside and politely asked if it would be possible to switch to the basic wash instead. Karen at the front desk was incredibly kind, patient, and professional throughout the entire interaction. She listened to my concerns, called the manager over, and treated me with genuine respect. I was so appreciative of her customer service that I even contacted the corporate office afterward to compliment her. Thank you, Karen!! Unfortunately, my interaction with the manager left me feeling disappointed. Throughout the conversation, I remained polite, smiled, and apologized for the misunderstanding because I truly wasn't trying to create a difficult situation. I simply wanted the basic wash that I had originally intended to purchase. Thankfully, the pricing was ultimately adjusted, but I left feeling that my request had been misunderstood when I was only asking if it would be possible to switch to the service I had originally wanted. Once everything was resolved, I went back to thank the manager for adjusting the price and apologized again because I genuinely appreciated that the situation had been corrected. I also want to give credit where it's due! The team cleaning my car was friendly and hardworking. Because the cleaning was interrupted while the pricing issue was being sorted out, my car ended up unfinished. There were still wet spots, my back seat had been folded down and wasn't returned to its original position, and there were even some bird droppings left on the exterior when I drove away. I was genuinely excited to try this company after driving by so often! I haven't given up on the brand, and I'd still love to check out the other Thousand Oaks location (N Moorpark) in the future. My advice to future customers is to be very clear about which wash you want and confirm the price before agreeing to any additional services. I like to write reviews for the tons of good people and places who are worthy. But... sometimes I have to vent. "Sparkling" Image Car Wash (SICW) needs to step it up big time. I'll try to be brief. I was excited to get my brother's car washed at a quality car wash. I borrowed his car to see a friend and spotted SICW. GREAT! I never mind spending the money when it's worth it. I asked the attendant to give me the straight scoop and he said it will be a great wash. Ok, I said and paid the $39.99 for the works. Keep in mind, I've never paid over $25 for a was so this was extravagant for me. After it came out, and they did their thing, they called me to the car. I handed the attendant a $5 tip. I was about to get into the car and noticed the door sill plate was dirty. I asked for, and received a rag, and started to wipe it down. Then, the more I looked, the more dirt I saw. Ok, let's get it straight, I'm NOT expecting full detailing, but I am expecting a simple wipe down. I found all the door areas and the back hatch were NOT clean. I wiped everything as best as I could and headed out. As I'm driving down the street to the freeway, I look down and the floor mats had loose dirt on them. They didn't even vacuum! Sorry, but for $40, I expect it vacuumed! I turned around and went back. The attendant said he's sorry and he will fix it. I waited while the workers vacuumed again. I Jumped in, and without giving it more of a once over (mistake), I headed back. Much to my disappoint, when I got back to my brother's garage to drop off the car, I noticed that all four rims were filthy. As if they took a rag, ran around each rim quickly, and moved on. Really?! The only way I will ever go back is if they give me a FREE car wash. The only caveat is that I won't tell them when I return. Reason? I'll see how they do, and if it's the same as last time, this review will receive a scathing update. I suggest you keep driving right on by. I'm sure you can select any other car wash and the result will be much more "sparkling" than this excuse for a car wash. Sorry, but it's the truth. To cleaner days ahead. read more

When I first pulled in I was asked what wash I wanted, the worker was young and short in height. I rarely come here so I asked for the regular car wash and then said the cheapest one. Turns out he did not give me the cheapest wash. When I questioned him he said I should of said basic wash, I responded I asked for the cheapest one. I then showed him their board with pricing and asked him where does it say basic and what is the cheapest wash on here, not the one you gave me. I asked where his manager was and he walked away. I spoke with the manager and he acted like he couldn't do anything, he did tell me the short guy was making commissions on upselling. Avoid this place, there is other places to go. read more

I came to get my car detailed and it cost $350 before tip. I try to get my car detailed every year and since I have 3 dogs that own the back seat, I want to keep my car looking new. Typically, I pay around $250 for both the inside and out to be cleaned in Agoura or Westlake Village but I decided to try this place out for the first time in Thousand Oaks. Boy, was it a hefty bill BUT totally worth it. My leather seats look new! All the tiny cracks, hidden corners, and arm/door rest was wiped spotless. There was a thick film of dirt and dust caked on because my dogs like to look out the window with their dirty paws resting on the arm rest 365 days and it's been hard for me to wipe up after them. Even after getting it detailed, no place can really remove it all the way - there's a sandy residue left behind, the dirts faded a lighter color, or it's looks dirty even though its been wiped clean. I was hoping that someone could really deep clean my car and restore it like new and Sparkling Image came through. I am so overjoyed and so thankful. It was worth every cent. I noticed that I could pay $250 just to get the inside done so perhaps I'll opt for that option more frequently so it doesn't pile on so thick with dirt & grime. Tried out Sparkling Image Car Wash in Thousand Oaks and got a pretty solid wash--my car looked clean and shiny afterward. However, the hand-dry part wasn't up to par. There was still quite a bit of water left on the car, which was disappointing since hand drying is supposed to be part of the service. I did sign up for the monthly membership, so I'll be going back a few more times. Hopefully, I'll see some improvement in the drying process. Good potential here, but consistency and attention to detail will make the difference. read more

No issues with the service or how long it took to finish the job. However, I do have two issues. First, they removed my magnets from the outside of my car and didn't replace them or put them in my car. Small thing, I know, but still inconsiderate. The bigger issue is that I need to take my car in to the dealer to have the charger port access door fixed. I charged my car up before I went for the car wash, and now it's jammed shut. Just be aware if you have a plug in hybrid or an electric vehicle that it appears some staff there don't know how to handle that kind of equipment. read more

I was here a few weeks ago because my son spilled a milkshake everywhere in my car. I came here and at first they said I'd have to do a full detail, which I neither had the time nor wanted to spend that much money. The manager Neiche (not sure how to spell) came over and saw how distraught I was. The milkshake was dripping from my steering wheel and inside my air conditioning vents and was pretty much everywhere so she called over another manager named Rambo and he said not to worry and pulled it into the detail garage and 20 min later it was like it never happened!! He was so kind and did a fantastic job!!! I only had $10 cash and he wouldn't accept it. Not only did he do a fantastic job cleaning all of it, but did it all at no cost!! At the check-in, Rude and bad service. I ordered the $36.00/package. They didn't vacuum the passenger side and when I caught them the woman manger' argued that it had. At the finish, didn't air dry the driver's side but said he had, Wheels still had brake dust and were not thoroughly cleaned. I feel I have to 'police' the entire process, start to finish to be confident I'm receiving what I pay for. I'll be happy to discuss further if anyone in management cares enough to follow-up. In the meantime, they've lost me as a customer. So disappointing! read more

Last week I was a few blocks away from my auto mechanic when my car engine stopped working. I was able to restart the car long enough to get the car to the mechanic. I had just picked up $300.00 in cash (in an envelope) and had placed it under the passenger floor mat behind the driver's seat. As I have full faith in my mechanic, I had absolutely no worry about leaving the envelope where it was. The following day I picked up the car from the mechanic. To my surprise, the car had been washed which was an unexpected surprise. When I got home, I lifted the floor mat where I had placed the envelope, and was shocked to discover it was gone. I immediately called the mechanic to inquire who had washed the car, as I assumed he had someone do it in the area next to his shop. He informed me that he wasn't allowed to wash cars at the auto complex, but he had taken the car to Sparkle Image Car Wash just a block away. I told the mechanic that the envelope had been stolen, and he seemed genially upset by it. He told me that nothing like this had ever happened and that he was going to the car wash to review the recordings from the security cameras. Afterward he called me and told me that he had viewed a recording but didn't see anything unusual. As I really don't know if he understood where to look on the recordings, I called the car wash three different times, explained what had occurred, and requested to see the video recordings for myself. The first two times I called, I was told that the "manager" would have to approve it, and that they would call me back. Since they never called back, I called them again for the third time. This time, I was told that they were NOT WILLING to let me see the recordings. What kind of business participates in covering up a crime committed by one of their employee's? I am disgusted with their lack of ethics and decency! If I had known that the car would be taken to the car wash, of course I would have removed the envelope before leaving the car with the mechanic. However, this does not excuse the management of the car wash for acting unethically. If there really was nothing to see on the recordings, then why not let me see them! I will NEVER take my car back there and will make certain that my mechanic doesn't either. read more

After my last awful experience in every way 3 years ago, I decided to give this place another try since Westlake Carwash closed. I hate to give bad reviews. I did come during a busy time at 5:00. First of all, the cashier was so unfriendly. Please, if you have a job, just be kind to people. If you're having a bad day, fake being kind! After my car was washed they pulled up 4 cars after mine and worked on those first. Really? It sat there for 20 minutes without being touched. I get brake dust on my 2 front rims, because they are high performance tires. I wanted those cleaned so badly, because I have injuries that don't allow me to bend. The finished result? Water spots all over my car, barely wiped inside, and the rims were sloppily wiped with scattered brake dust left. They look awful. I tried to give you guys a chance to redeem yourselves. I've been a monthly unlimited regular car wash club member here with two cars for at least 7 years, or rather I think it feels like a decade. I'm recognized as a regular obviously with the staff, and they are very friendly and thorough with my cars. I can't complain about anything because they do such a great job. Yes, I can be particular, and on rare occassion I've had done ask for this or that, and I believe one time One of my cars had to be put through twice. However, I think if you come in regularly then it's easier for them to maintain your car in pretty good shape. I've come in with my Mercedes, Volvo, and in the past we had Toyota's, and other makes over the years. Never a problem... Nothing that couldn't be fixed. Hard working staff who are always friendly, polite and nothing goes missing from my car. In my center glove compartment I keep a few dollars handy, often times I have change which is always still there. Yeah, the staff is consistently honest. Of course I don't leave real valuable stuff, no gold bars or a bundle of $100 bills?... That would be just plain irresponsible on my part. So I can recommend this place easily with a well-established history. Five stars here is well deserved. read more

I don't do 1 stars. I've given this place many opportunities over the years but here we are. If you have 45 minutes for a mediocre car wash. This is the place for you! After watching cars come and go while mine and others are ignored on the line AGAIN. And the guys who sell the washes just shrug their shoulders when asked "what's up" is the final straw. The guys out front work hard but things are consistently missed and when you bring it up to them they shrug and refer you to the ticket guys who offer to run it through again which will take another 30/45 minutes. They no longer let you ask for cash for tip at the register and instead direct you to the ATM for an additional atm charge. It's a shame. This place used to be very good. read more
