I have become discouraged working with Sparkling Palaces since July 2016. At first with the walk through, Amy presented an attitude that I will be well taken care of and my home will sparkle. I was seeking out a new cleaning service to help take the pressure off being a single mom with two kids. She said that the trash would be consolidated and disposed of weekly. I remember this specifically because she asked if I mind if they put the trash into one bag so as not to use too many plastic bags. However, starting in January of 2017, my caregiver and the Sparklers started to argue over my 10-month old daughter's room. The room was being left undone and the trash was never being taken out. By June, I too would frequently find the room not vacuumed, dusted or the trash taken out. I contact the agency and they confirmed that during our walk through that the baby's room was on the to do task list. Amy Boggs, the owner, responded that the room was left undone because of my daughter's nap schedule. I could tell immediately that her employees' opinions were held in higher regard. The homeowner's perspective is not taken with much consideration when contacting Amy. My daughter's nap schedule since February was 11:30am-2:30pm and the cleaners were in my home on a weekly basis from 8:30am-12:30pm, consistently starting upstairs where the bedrooms are, so from my perspective there was no obvious reason that her room needed to be skipped. Rather than readdress the issue, now knowing where my voice was held in the eyes of the company, I decided to handle the trash in my daughter's room myself and not continue to push confrontation. Just this past week, September 19, 2017, I received an email from Amy Boggs complaining of the diaper trash in Avery's room and requesting that I change it more often because it is a health hazard to the Sparklers. I was upset because I had been for the last 3 months doing the bulk of emptying the diaper trash. I wrote back that I change the trash at least every other week before the garbage truck service and often the Sparklers leave it untouched. I wait patiently to see if they will ever help me out and it never gets done. I reminded Amy of our correspondence in June about the Sparklers avoiding my daughter's room. The basic point of my email back to Amy Boggs was to express that I am sorry that the Sparklers are not able to handle a trash can with diapers and if they are not use to that situation could you let me know and I will seek out other cleaners. I sent out the email Wednesday evening, expecting I would hear back from her the next day. Nothing. Immediately I felt discouraged and unheard. Professionally, I would have expected to hear at the least that she received my email and needed time to respond. Finally, on Friday, I get a response that it is not their policy to deal with human waste at all and that is my responsibility to empty the trash cans and I need to do it on a more regular basis. They are really not dealing with human waste; they are simply removing a plastic bag out of a trash can and placing it outside in a garbage can. So I have decided to move on to a cleaning agency that is more accepting of small kids living in a home still in diapers, it is not worth trying to get your needs met from a cleaning service that does not understand making someone's life a little easier. There is nothing wrong with the way they clean the home, but the basic understanding of service and human connection is lacking. I would recommend that they inform families with small children of their trash policy. read more

I did my research when I first engaged Sparkling Palaces to be my first ever cleaning service a few years ago. I was convinced I wanted a no chemical approach and got bids from several "green" services. Sparkling Palaces was slightly higher than the others, but I opted to contribute that little extra for a few big picture bonuses: a lower carbon footprint, since they schedule houses in clusters by area to limit driving; and supporting a small company that pays solid wages to retain good staff. I found out that I was spoiled by my first choice, as Amy made sure I was satisfied with the service through frequent communication and adaptation to my picky preferences. When rates went up to keep pace with the times, my husband and I decided to get few more bids from other "green" companies and changed service to a rate similar to what we had been paying for Sparkling Palaces. After only six months, though, we knew we had made a mistake. The meticulous attention to detail we had taken for granted from Sparkling Palaces service was missing. Now that Sparkling Palaces has taken us back, the floors gleam, the kitchen shines, the bathrooms glimmer, and the dog wags more. They tell me it's just ionized water in the funny bottle they clean with, but I think there must be fairy dust in there. The moral of the story is: you get what you pay for. Personally, I prefer getting all my needs met, value for my money, a pleasant attitude in satisfying my requests, and feeling good about limiting our overall footprint and supporting a small, local business. read more

We have been using Sparkling Palaces for a little over a year and couldn't be more pleased. We initially interviewed and hired Amy/SP to do a one time, detailed clean before the birth of our 2nd child. We were so pleased with the results that we are now on a regular cleaning schedule with Amy. I love coming home after a long, tiring day at work and seeing my house tidy and sparkling. Amy has always been professional in our communications and even sends me a reminder in advance of my scheduled cleanings so I can make other arrangements if there is a conflict. The actual cleans have always been top notch. Special attention is spent in the areas I feel are the most important (which Amy wrote down in our original walk through). I also like that something extra is done at each cleaning that is not part of the original scope of work--on my last clean it was wiping down the bathroom walls, other times it has been sanitizing the baby's changing table...etc. I appreciate that little extra each time they are in our home. I do not hesitate to recommend Sparkling Palaces to anyone looking for a professional house cleaning service. read more

We've been using Sparkling Palaces since the birth of my first child (now 4) left our household a bit more chaotic than we were used to. Our house has not gotten any less chaotic, but it sure has gotten cleaner! We are so thankful to have found Sparkling Palaces. Amy and her team of sparklers are fantastic. Our house looks beautiful and spotless 99.9% of the time (on the VERY rare occasion we've noticed something has been overlooked, Amy herself has made it right). I love walking through the door on cleaning day and seeing everything tidy and in order. Of course, with two cats, a dog, two kids and a husband who works in the dirt all day, we put a pretty good hurt on it throughout the week, but the following cleaning day, all order is perfectly restored yet again. When we first interviewed cleaning companies, this bid was not the lowest given. I am a huge fan of Sparkling Palaces!! It is an intimate thing having people come in to our home and clean up after me and my family and it is comforting to know that I am in good, safe hands with SP. My first clean was 4 months ago and the deep clean blew my mind. I have spent more hours then I care to recount cleaning my baseboards and banister only to have them still look gross when I was done with them. SP has given me the freedom to not feel burdened by the endless chores that go along with cleaning and time to enjoy my life! One of my favorite perks is the extra clean that is done--a bonus sparkle. Makes me smile every time to see what nasty spot that has been hiding and is now clean. If I could put actual sparkles on this review, I would. Amy and her team are like magical fairies that descend upon your boggy dwelling and make it shine. Seriously delightful people, seriously attention-to-detail cleaning. And professional to a tee. When Alice, our beloved Sparkler was out sick, we got an immediate notification and a quick reschedule with the always-lovely and diligent Ryan. You get what you pay for in this life. Amy takes care of her people, and in turn, they take care of us. But be careful: once you know, SP, you cannot go back. We had Sparkling Palaces for some time. They are AMAZING. Every single member of their teams we met was a sweetheart and clearly dedicated to really getting in there and getting things beautiful. Never had a single complaint. Once someone broke something -- and they immediately fixed it (it was an inexpensive, but significant figurine) -- and apologized, letting us know as soon as it had happened. Update for 2017: Still the best! Sparkling Palaces now cleans my home every week, and I LOVE coming home after cleaning day. Ryan is typically our Sparkler and he does a meticulous job, plus I know he sneaks in a few pets for our pooches while he's here. Before Ryan we often had Casey, Cynthia, or others cleaning and always knocking it out of the park. Amy knows how to hire the good ones and I have appreciated them all!
