It MIGHT almost be worth it just to DRIVE to Butte and check Sparky's out, but at least you own yourself a stop there if you're within a hundred miles as the crow flies. THE THEME What a fun atmosphere too when Eclectic & Totally Random Blue Collar & Industry items are featured featured as decor! Think Gas Stations. Think Mechanics. [I like to think of it as, "Come, Eat, and Get Gas!"] Think Railraod Depots. Think Oil Companies. [Nothing like Rail Barons & Oil Magnates to make you feel smaller than you already feel! There is a classic pick-up truck that has had it's bed converted into a large booth. First time at Sparky's Garage in Butte. I've been to the Sparky's in Dillon, Montana. The Butte location is bigger, has a great outdoor patio area and a big parking lot. The Food: Sparky's restaurants mainly make BBQ meals. There menu offers daily specials, pulled pork sandwiches, briskets, ribs and more. I normally get the ribs at Sparky's so this time was not the exception. I went for the half rack of ribs, they come with corn bread and the choice of two sides. I got the BBQ beans and the sweet potatoes. My husband got the same except he got mac and cheese and BBQ beans. While we waited for the food, we got some drinks. I had a "Montana Mojito" and he had a cold Corona. The mojito was really good! I was surprise they had yerba buena. The food came out fast, everything looked good. I noticed I did not get the sweet potatoes and instead I had coleslaw, the waitress apologized and got the sweet potatoes. She brought a big size portion. In the table, they bring you 4 type of sauces to put in your ribs: Honey BBQ, Classic BBQ, Caroline Mustard, and Hot and Sassy. My favorite is the classic BBQ. The ribs were delicious! they come naked and you put your favorite sauce, the rub they cook the ribs with tastes really good. I like their cornbread and their sweet potatoes were to die for. I was a little disappointed by the beans. They did not tasted like BBQ beans, they were not bad, just not what I was looking for. Service: Service was great, such a nice lady! she took amazing care of us. She checked on us often, when i told her about the sweet potatoes, she brought more and told me I could keep the coleslaw. Everything was really nice and she was fast and efficient. I would rate my experience with a 4.5 Stars. A place worth to stop if you are driving through Montana. read more

Butte is a bit...antiquated. I did not have high expectations when I chose a restaurant. However, this place blew me away. From the first step in the door with the hostess to the wonderful waitress who served us, everybody was simply devine and polite. This is a great place. We had wonderful burgers. One with pulled pork and fried onions on top, the other with a whole avocado half on top. The mac and cheese were so good you would consider bathing in them. You WANT a bowl of these noodles with cheesy crack sauce on them. The huckleberry ice cream was also a great way to finish it all off! A must EAT! read more

Came in for lunch. We were seated immediately but after 10 minutes no one waited on us. The couple at the next table who came in after us were waited on. Finally told the hostess who said she would find our waitress. Waited another five minutes but still nothing. We got up and left. read more

I would give this a zero, but sadly cannot. I came here for the first time tonight and was incredibly disappointed. My server, Shannah, waited 45 minutes to come to my table, when she did finally take our orders she was extremely impatient. After she coughed in her hand, she so kindly opened our straws and placed them in our drinks for us. Our food took another 45 minutes to come out, and it was not satisfactory. When we asked for a meal to be taken off our ticket because it was so bad, she rolled her eyes. She then slammed the card reader on the table (before asking if we were on one check) and when we asked to split the check she rolled her eyes once again. I was really looking forward to this meal, but I can safely say I will not go back nor recommend this place to anyone. read more

The food was OK if you're hungry, but I probably wouldn't go back. I'm a lover of French onion soup, but this one was way too salty. The cornbread served with it had a weird texture too. The Brisket sandwich was good, and the sauces they provided were unique and tasty. Chicken Fried Steak was good, well seasoned with a perfect amount of crispy coating. Absolutely delicious!!! Ranch dressing lovers, they have the best ranch dressing ever. Pulled pork sandwich was yummy but the honey bbq sauce was beyond exceptional. My husband said the Baja Burger was once of the best burgers he had. If we ever come through Montana again definitely stopping here in Butte for this restaurant. :) P.S. Went here tonight...loved everything from the decor, cleanliness, menu, draft selection and great customer service by bartender Tosh. I got two local beers that were excellent and for food a salad to start, fried chicken, corn bread, mashed and mac/cheese for dinner and took home a slice of key lime pie for dessert. We stopped here after our mining tour. Coming from Texas maybe my expectations were too high for bbq. I got the brisket platter with bbq beans and mac and cheese. The brisket was ok, edible but nothing compared to Texas brisket that melts in your mouth and can smell the smoke as you walk in. The bbq beans were just that. The Mac and cheese was not a good consistency with clumpy pieces of cheese. They need to learn how to make a creamy sauce! The corn bread was dry but at least they provide yummy honey butter to make it edible. My husband and son had the burgers which they liked. If you eat you, you have decided that you hate yourself. Where to begin? There's Mayo on every table which should be refrigerated. Disgusting. I got the easiest order, a Caesar with no meat and fried pickles. This place serves fried pickle spears, SPEARS, in a thin af coating of nothing. The sauce they serve is water down as I bumped the plate and it spilled over like a beer would. Then the Caesar, the dressing tasted like death. I only know this cause I ate a single leaf as I had no silverware. Jesus montana, get your shit together. This might be the worst place I've ever had the misfortune of eating. read more

Superstar meal! Great food, great drink, great atmosphere, can't ask for much more! The service was next level here. Starting with our hostess who got us a table very quickly during a very busy time in their restaurant. Then our waiter was prompt and knowledgeable. He gave us just the right amount of attention. I had their dry rubbed baby back ribs. Wow! They were super good. It came with a bbq sauce caddy with four of their house made sauces which were all fantastic. I had their bbq beans and Mac & Cheese for my sides. They do their sides just enough different from everyone else that they felt new. Loved them. If I had anything negative at all to say it might be that their corn bread was a little on the dry side but not bad enough to lose a star on the rating. This place was great for kids as well. We came with the whole family. We are currently contemplating coming back again this week for round two! If we do come back I would want to sit in their outdoor area. Visited again. Fairly long wait for service. When we finally got a waitress she explained the delay "nobody told me I've been assigned to this table." Not once did the waitress ever see if we needed refills. Just curious but has anybody else ever been served an appetizer of fried pickles and the pickles were spears and not chips? That was odd. Food was still meh. Fries were not good, just greasy tasting and no consistency on the cooking. $80 for a lunch for four just seems too expensive for the quality of food you get. read more

But the servers are super friendly, their sweet potato fries and ranch are delicious. Be sure to ask for medium rare meat or it will be cooked way too much. Fantastic bar and grill spot in uptown Butte. Catfish fish and chips was very good as well as the shrimp po-boy. They forgot the sauce on the sandwich but the server was so great and food yummy can't knock them for that. read more

We were passing through on a road trip and stopped at Sparky's for lunch. I had the BLT and my husband had the chicken sandwich. He is really picky and asked for it plain and was accommodated. The fries are freshly cut and delicious! The inside of the restaurant is decorated super cool but since we have been in the car and will get back in the car after, we opted to sit out on the patio which was beautiful and had a great view of Butte!
