Even though the party time window is a bit short, I do appreciate that they have the option to shut the place down for private events. They also provide a private party room for your group to use, which is really convenient. The indoor pool is actually warm (which I truly appreciate, because I've been to plenty of places that claim their pools are "warm" when they definitely are not). There's also a section where kids have to pass a swim test to receive a bracelet, which allows them access to the deeper area and the inflatable play zone. There are plenty of lifeguards on duty, so it always feels safe, and they provide life jackets as well. All kids are required to wear approved life vests while in the water. I also like that there are showers right by the pool, along with doors that lead directly into the men's and women's locker rooms and bathrooms. It makes it easy to enter and exit from both the indoor and outdoor areas, although parents should definitely keep an eye on their kids since there are multiple exit points. One thing to note is that they're pretty strict about party timing. If you go over your allotted time, they may not always remind you, but they will charge you afterward. I really wish they had separate designated party time and swim time, because it can feel rushed trying to fit everything in at once. Overall, it's a nice place to take the kids. They also offer swim lessons and other programs, which is a plus. The only downside is that some of the front desk staff seem young and occasionally don't have clear answers to specific questions. This wasn't our first visit and definitely won't be our last.

I feel like I'm swimming in a greenhouse when the roof is closed. I love not having to wear sunscreen, a hat, or sunglasses, but some people still might. So many water fitness classes offered here! There are multiple classes Monday to Friday. Only 1 class on Saturday and Sunday, but that's still pretty good. You need to get a wristband for each water fitness class. The most popular and biggest class is the Hydro Fusion class held MWF 10:30 am and TR 9:05 am. You can start getting a wristband for this class 1 hour ahead of time. I've also enjoyed the Shallow H20 Fit classes and the Monday night Aqua Yoga class. I don't think you can reserve a swim lane. You just hope for an empty lane, stay in your half lane if you have to share with 1 other swimmer, or circle swim if there are 3+ swimmers in a lane. If you need to move between lanes, staff wants you to swim under the lane dividers. They are afraid the lane dividers can't hold the weight of a person. There are so many lifeguards! Sometimes during class or if you're in the middle pool lanes, it feels awkward seeing them loom over you. They're ready to rescue you! There are swim programs for kids. For Easter, there is a floating egg hunt! For Halloween, there is a floating pumpkin patch. https://www.roseville.ca.us/government/departments/parks/programs_classes/fitness/ Look under Mike Shellito Indoor Pool, Fitness Schedules, and Memberships for details. Very affordable, especially if you are a resident of Roseville. You can pay for a monthly membership, buy a 10 or 20 visit punch card, or just drop in. Every January, there is a punch card promo to get you exercising: Buy 10, Get 5 free visits. The cool thing about the punch card or daily drop-in is that you can attend as many classes at any of the 3 Roseville exercise facilities (Mike Shellito, Mahany Fitness Center, Maids Community Center) that day! This is the daily class schedule: https://groupexpro.com/schedule/788/?view=new I had some bad luck when I initially tried out evening classes with last-minute cancelations or no shows. I waited over a year to try my first evening class. Bring your own towel and lock for the locker room. Only 4 shower stalls inside the locker room. Many people just rinse off and head home in their swim parkas. I also bring my own bag for the wet clothing and swimsuit. There's only 1 type of shampoo/body wash foam, so you might want to bring conditioner. No paper towels in the restrooms, just hand dryers. Leave time to park, check in, use locker room, and grab your weights and noodle before class. Pool closes between 1:15 pm and 3:45 pm Mon to Thu. On Fri, it's closed between 1:15 pm and 6:35 pm. Sat and Sun stays open until 4 pm with no midday closure. If you enjoy swimming or aqua fit classes or water therapy, I highly recommend Mike Shellito.

So bam... hit the weights first trying to look athletic for absolutely nobody, then made my way outside to the pool. Let me tell you something... night swimming with nobody around feels like you accidentally rented out a millionaire's backyard. Quiet, peaceful, and not one kid cannonballing directly next to your face while you're trying to have a spiritual moment floating under the stars. I almost stayed until they kicked me out. This gym honestly has some awesome employees too. Amber always comes in with that motivational energy like she's coaching Rocky before a title fight. Then there's Keith moving around the floor like a gym FBI agent making sure dumbbells make it back home safely. Dude cares about the place and it shows. Now parking... whew. Between 4-7pm it's basically the Hunger Games. Once you see headlights backing out you better commit immediately and believe in yourself. But after 9pm? Different universe. The spa area is excellent. There used to be a eucalyptus park that instantly made you fall in love the moment you stepped inside. Unfortunately, it's no longer in use, but the steam room is still absolutely fantastic. There are also great outdoor summer slides and pools for children. Of course, after so many years of visiting this fitness club, it would be nice to see some updates -- renovations, new features, or refreshed spaces. The kids are already very familiar with everything, and it's not as exciting for them anymore. Overall, Villasport remains a fantastic fitness club that meets all essential standards, in my opinion. The instructors don't view this as playtime - they are all professionals in swim safety and will make sure that your kids are able to safely exit a pool on their own if they were ever to fall in a pool unnoticed. They also have an amazing ability to connect with the kids and make them feel at ease. IF YOU WANT YOUR KIDS TO LEARN HOW TO SWIM COME HERE! You can skip the community centers and swim school group classes that teach your kids to splash and sing songs. This place only offers one-on-one private sessions and limits the number of students at any one time to no more than 3. There are no loud distractions or crowds to overwhelm the students. Do yourself a favor and dish out the extra money for private sessions at this place - there's no price on the peace that comes with trusting your kid won't drown if they were to accidentally fall into a pool while they are alone. As for the complaints about the lax customer service - this is a privately owned small business in there backyard of the owner, Kelli's residence. Customer service and greetings are warm and relaxed, which creates a welcoming environment where the kids feel comfortable. Our first session my 4 year old wouldn't put her face in the water and by the third session she could jump into the pool on her own and swim breaststroke all the way to the other end of the pool (so cute to watch a tiny person people do this!!!) At my 6 year olds first session, she could float and doggy paddle. By her third session she could swim breaststroke with side breaths and backstroke. I could not recommend this place more!

All of the instructors (Kelli, Sam, and Joe) are incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and truly understands how to work with young children while blending fun with important water safety skills in the perfect balance. Each week's lesson is well-structured, age-appropriate that keeps our 3-year old grandson focused and smiling. We were amazed by the progress in just a few short weeks. Swim students are one-on-one with their instructor. It's clear they genuinely care about each child's comfort and development. We highly recommend these lessons to any parent looking to introduce their child to swimming or expand their child's swimming skills.

I went back and forth on whether to write this, and frankly part of me feels bad doing so, but…read moreultimately, we don't feel good about the $100k+ we spent on our pool--and that's not something that should be ignored. 1. Sloppy Workmanship Concrete & deck - The joints are visibly misaligned and the pool deck slopes in places. When I asked for this to be fixed or compensated, they offered a token $400 credit against what I estimate to be a $2,000 mistake--after we had already spent nearly $30k in additional concrete work. Their response? "Our margins are already so low." That's not my problem. It felt dismissive and manipulative. Fence - To meet code, we had to reverse the swing of our fence door. The contractor they sent left a mess--cutting the door unevenly and leaving a large gap. The fact that I even have to spend my time following up on this speaks volumes about their quality control (or lack thereof). Heater install - They installed the pool heater with no condensate line, so water spilled directly onto the concrete deck and left stains (photo attached). I had to chase them down just to get that fixed. Their "fix" was running giant exposed PVC lines across the deck. And now the unit is leaking again. Pool finish - The plaster work is uneven, with rough, jagged steps and visible spots of chipped gunite. You can feel it every time you get in the pool. 2. Disorganized and Disruptive Crews Scheduling was a total mess. Crews either didn't show up on scheduled days or showed up unannounced. One morning we woke up to find the owner tearing out our landscaping to lay skid boards for the bobcat. This was never even discussed. During excavation, the bobcat tore through our irrigation system, flooding our front yard. Despite multiple follow-ups, the issue was never fully fixed--and still leaks to this day. We often felt like pushing harder for resolution would jeopardize our relationship or our warranty. That's not how a customer should feel. We have email after email where we're left chasing basic updates: "What time tomorrow?" "Actually, he can't make it; we'll reach out in a day or two." 3. Condescending Customer Service Any time we raised concerns, we were met with either silence or thinly veiled condescension. The concrete credit negotiation was especially frustrating--using their internal cost pressures as a reason not to fairly address our complaint. When we brought up the heater runoff issue, the response was to "come take a look sometime"... and then nothing. Radio silence. Bottom Line We spent over six figures and ended up with: * uneven concrete * stained decking * a leaking heater * rough, unfinished plaster * a broken irrigation system * and a pile of ignored emails If you care at all about quality, communication, or customer service--do yourself a favor and go with someone else.

Unfortunately, my experience last night 02/27/2026 was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. For context, this facility has two soccer fields: one requires check-in for league play, and the other can be privately booked, which does not require check-in. My group had booked the smaller field for the evening, as we have done many times before. As I entered the facility, an employee named Isabelle stopped me by whistling at me from a distance. I found this extremely disrespectful and demeaning, as it felt as though I was being called over like an animal rather than addressed as a paying customer. In my four years coming here, no employee has ever treated me this way. When I approached, she spoke to me in a harsh and aggressive tone, asking, "What are you doing here? Where are you going? What's your name?" I calmly explained that I was there to play on the smaller field and that check-in was not required because it was not league play. She interrupted me, raised her voice, and began walking toward me in an intimidating manner, insisting that I could not go to the field without checking in. When I asked for her name, she refused to provide it and continued demanding my name in an aggressive tone. I later saw her name tag and noted it myself. Even after a front desk employee confirmed my identity to her, she continued questioning me and even referred to me as "little boy," which was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Shortly after, she and another employee approached my teammates on the field and spoke to them in the same rude and disrespectful manner, insisting we needed to check in despite the field being privately booked. By that point, my entire group felt uncomfortable and offended by the way we were being treated. I do want to note that the other employee, Bladea, later apologized to me and my friend when Isabelle was not around, which I appreciated. However, the overall experience was still very upsetting and should never happen to customers. As a long-time customer who brings consistent business to this facility, I expect to be treated with basic respect and professionalism. There is a difference between enforcing policies and speaking to customers in a hostile, demeaning way. This experience left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome. I strongly encourage management at In-Shape Health Clubs to address this matter and provide additional customer service training so no other customers are treated in this manner.
