I'm perplexed by Spartan Plumping. I've never experience this lack of customer experience or respect before. I submitted a project request on yelp for my rental property and Spartan plumbing replied. They seemed to have good reviews so I decided to go with them. They wouldn't provide any sort of price estimate for a standard tub spout replacement. They said they needed to see it in person but since they had a cancellation and I was taking that spot they would waive the $49 service fee. Sounded promising. I told them the ballpark estimates I had already received. We agreed upon a 4 hour window the following day and they said they would call 30 minutes before arrival. No one ever called. I contacted them at 1:35 asking if someone would arrive before 2 and no response. The plumber arrived just before 2. He gave an outrageous quote and said the spout wouldn't even match what I currently have. I said thanks for the quote that seems high mind waiting 5 minutes while I call Spartan and see if anything can be done with that quote. He said sure. I spoke to the owner at Spartan and he said he would call me back in a few minutes and that the price was set but he wanted to see why the spout wasn't going to match what I had. He never called me back and then I get an email invoice for $0 saying the plumber left because I refused services. After the initial shock wore off I had to laugh! I immediately called another plumber they came over within the hour and completed the job for $240 while Spartan was trying to charge me $370!! read more

We needed a toilet replaced with a smart toilet that we had purchased already. Spartan did not charge us a fee to come give a quote for the project and I was instantly interested in seeing how much the quote would be since a previous company came by and quoted a humongous amount. I had done research on homewyse to see how much the job should cost and Spartan was pretty close considering it was a smart toilet and not a regular toilet. Christian was very courteous and friendly the moment he walked in the door. He assessed the new and old toilet thoroughly before giving us an idea about what all he will need to do along with a very reasonable quote. Once he started on the work he did another assessment and found an issue with the water pipeline coming into the toilet where it was leaking and corroding the pipe. We decided that was also something that we needed to work on as we found a crack in our ceiling below where the water had been leaking. Once he started working on this leak, where we had to cut out the drywall of the ceiling, we noticed that the leak may lead to molding. So Christian's thorough assessment helped us out. He was diligent with everything including going to the store twice (on a very cold day) to obtain parts he needed. He even fitted our previous toilet's bidet to another toilet in the house. We discovered another leak from the water pipeline (we have a house from the 70's) but thankfully no corroding and it was an easier fix. To the very end he kept checking for further leaks from his work and thoroughly cleaned out behind himself before leaving. He took his time to get things done properly, double checking and asking to be vetted before he left. I would definitely call Spartan again even if I cannot get a hold of Christian himself for any other plumbing needs. read more

My wife took 1/2 day off from work to make sure she could be home. And these yahoos called me at 4:30 p.m. (when its nearly impossible to get another plumber to come) to cancel[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I wonder if we can sue them for lost wages for my wife's 1/2 day of PTO she wasted on them? Unbelievable. The funny thing is I'm not the only one they do this to. Look at the other 1 star reviews. We had the sewer back up into our home and it was awful. I'm not sure how to describe the devastation, but the term "poop-pocalypse" has been used more than once. We called several companies to come and give estimates for the repair, but quotes made it more realistic for us to burn down our house, take the insurance money and move Jamaica rather than do the work. Out of desperation I started calling friends for help, and one suggested I give Spartan Plumbing a call. With sewage still flooding the basement he descended into the bowels of Hades to assess the destruction and devastation. His assessment was exactly what the other companies said, we needed a total replacement of the sewer line, but he presented his solutions in a way which made it clear I was not being taking advantage. Being part of a family owed business, Sammy was able to quote me a price for the project that was not only reasonable but possible. Spartan plumbing has excellent service and easily exceeded my expectations. I was looking to have a water line run into my garage so that I can use my high psi washer fpr my car. I first thought they were just coming out for an estimate but then they said they could work on it on the spot. I was shocked! So I agreed and the installer needed to run to get a few parts for the install and ended up having to visit multiple places to do the job. They gave me a 4 hour window of 10-2pm, which is fine but the tech didn't show up until 2:10pm. He came in and looked at the project for about 15 minutes, then went out into his truck for an hour working on the bid. An hour later he came back and gave me a super pricey bid of $728 and they charged me $50 for the quote. They also couldn't complete it the same day and I would have to schedule another visit. I was able to call another company who gave me a free quote and completed the work the same day for $350. I would shop around before using this company. read more

Fixed in an hour including the time it took to go get his drain snake and bring it back what Drain Terrier couldn't fix even after two separate trips to my house totaling several hours and $505. The plumber who came from Spartan couldn't understand why Drain Terrier couldn't fix nothing more than a clogged drain pipe. The Spartan plumber's former co-worker now works for Drain Terrier and suggested Gabriel also work for Drain Terrier. After seeing firsthand the incompetence of Drain Terrier's other plumbers and hearing about their terrible customer service, he will not even consider going to work for them.
