After a week of illness I needed some pampering. Scheduled a much needed massage and essential facial at Spavia. The massage was excellent and the therapist paid attention to areas I requested. The essential facial by Myriam was amazing! She took the time to discuss what has been going on with my health and skin. Not only did I receive a great facial she also worked on massaging shoulders, arms and hands. After the treatment was completed we discussed other options for my skin and for next visit. I brought my mother to this spa for the first time to use some of my remaining credits from my membership. Her appointment was at 10am on a Sunday, right when they opened. She filled out the new client paperwork prior to arrival online. Once we arrived, there was no one at the front so we had to wait around. By 10:10 somebody came to check her in. We were told everything was ready to go so I left my mother to enjoy her appointment. After picking her up when she was done, she told me about her experience which is what follows. The woman who checked us in, had my mother fill out paperwork for a facial even though that's not what her appointment was for. She then told her that because she was late and had to spend time filling out the paperwork, that she would not have time to get a locker and change into a robe. Her body treatment was also cut short because there were other clients waiting. I had a membership here until this month and had to cancel because I moved out of the area. After this experience, I would have canceled anyway. While the actual treatment may have been good, Cecilia is amazing, the customer service was absolutely horrible! read more

I bought a Groupon for an hour massage and requested Amanda because she had good reviews on Yelp. I had the deep tissue massage and it was great. I have never felt such soft wonderful sheets on a massage table! The whole facility was very nice, defiantly a cut above. I am tempted to join the monthly membership. Spavia was great! They got me in on short notice and the experience was as good as any high-priced day spa. Amenities include robe, sandals, retreat room, heated neck roll, showers. I purchased a Groupon for a 60 minute massage. All the staff, from the booking process through my appointment, were super friendly and demonstrated excellent customer service. They have a relaxing waiting area to sit in after you've changed into the robe they provide you. I booked a Hot Stone Massage and Karen was my massage therapist. She was friendly and you could tell she absolutely cared that I had a relaxing experience. I loved the heated neck pillow while I waited for my massage! Such a small thing but it really calmed me down before I had my treatment. Spavia is clean and the staff are friendly. They have a diverse group of massage therapists that specialize in different things. I highly recommend that you ask they staff who the recommend for what you're preferences are. I had a facial and it was an amazing experience! The atmosphere was incredible... Very relaxing and my spa tech was Devon and she was absolutely wonderful!! Everyone was so nice yet professional and took really good care of me... I frequent Peppermill and Atlantis spas and Spavia by far exceeded my expectations and I didn't have to walk through a dirty smelly smoky casino to get to it!! The appointment was on time. The changing rooms and waiting room were beautiful very relaxing and fun to hang out in!! I am not easy to please when it comes to spas and a day away from my kids... So when I say this was an amazing experience and very well worth it I mean it!! I actually even became a member so I will be coming at least once a month for treatments. read more

Wonderful brand new day spa at The Summit! I made an online appointment for a facial with Tammy. I'll typically get facials at resort spas so I wasn't expecting much at a 'mall' day spa. Let me tell you... I was pleasantly surprised at how nice Spavia was! The facial with Tammy was one of the best I've had. She pays attention to what you need and want. I walked out relaxed and with great looking skin. I'm so excited to have found a local place for facials that won't cost an arm and a leg. read more

Make sure you check your receipts and bank statements. Apparently there was a snafu when the girls at the check out counter were ringing up my two full day packages at 350.00 each. My mother and I both went had a great time and went to check out with two young ladies helping us. I paid my gratuity with a card being that we paid in full with cash for the sessions. My mother paid her gratuity with her purchase of product that she received as well. Three days later I receive a phone call apparently there was a problem with the gratuity and they wanted to know if we would like to re-tip over the phone. Checked my bank and saw that the gratuity was paid on the 13th of July when I went in. Called the store today to be told that it was there mistake and they were sorry. Five minutes later I got notification from my bank that they recharged another $50 gratuity. Do not go to this spa until they can figure there business figured out. There is apparently no corporate office and the supposed owner was on vacation. Will not go back to this business read more

Save your money. Paid for a 60 min massage, but the therapist was late and so I got a 45 min massage. The locker room was small, as was the waiting room. The massage itself was mediocre with zero pressure, and during the massage someone turned on what sounded like an extremely loud vacuum. I will not be going back. read more

This spa is beautiful and relaxing. It smells amazing when you walk in, and the dark neutral paint and decorations help you start relaxing and forgetting the loud colorful images and stresses flashing through your mind. My mom had heard a radio add for a special they were running for new clients, being a new spa that opened up in the summit mall. So I went by to check it out and see what specials they were having for Valentine's Day and/or new clients. Obviously I went in when the manager was off and no one had any idea what the specials were. So I waited while they got ahold of someone. It turns out the Valentin's special and the new client special were the same. So since I was in about a month before Valentine's Day, they said their schedule was open and to call to schedule an appointment. Wait a minute...I'm here..in your salon..now. Can't I just schedule it now so I can get a Saturday appt before they are all booked? So she gets me all set up for a couples massage on a Saturday 3-4 in advance. Then the day of the appointment quickly approaches and a couple days before, I get a voicemail saying they double booked my appointment time and wanted me to change my plans. I really wasn't happy about that, so she said I could keep the spot because technically I booked first. Uhh, yeah I did--weeks ago. Then I got 2 more calls about this before my appointment, which really rubbed me the wrong way. I guess if my appointment is so inconvenient I can go somewhere else? Finally we are here for the massage. The locker rooms are nice and clean. The lockers are big and they supply anything you need to get ready. They have hot tea to sip while you wait for your masseuse...which, I love a good cup of tea. The massage was nice because they didn't try to talk your ear off or ask a bunch of questions while you're trying to relax. So all in all, I think it's a good place, they just need to communicate better. After all, this is a luxury, not a necessity, so I don't need to be here if you're not going to make me feel welcome or pampered. read more

The lady said that since I did not give 24 hrs notice of cancellation that they were going to take the Groupon vouchers. The atmosphere here is amazing! You're greeted very warmly by the front desk girls and then you head back to relax. You can enjoy tea and mints while you wait in the relaxing retreat area for your well-trained specialist. The treatments are unbelievable! I would highly recommend this place! My wife and I have been to Spavia on several occasions and feel that it is a marvellous caring business with great ambience and wonderful customer service. The manager/owner, Merirae, is so courteous, kind and caring about giving the best possible experience to her clients and it shows. It is important to make advanced reservations do to their popularity. Pros: New, clean, nice atmosphere and changing/waiting area for services She put cream on hands w/hot stone in gloves - nice touch Cons: No chairs, just one bench by (hot) window for reception wait area. No hooks in treatment room, so you set your belongings/clothes on a stool. The room was very low lighting, so I know the esthetician never saw my skin well. I have never had a facial where my face wasn't first cleansed and then looked at close up with a magnifying light. The young esthetician I had, never asked me if her touch was too light or strong - it was too light. Never communicated what products she was using and what they do. Soothing music too loud. I asked if she was going to do extractions, she said we got started late, so she did not have time. I arrived at 1:35 for a 1:40 appointment, but in all fairness, I should have been there 10-15 minutes before. Upon leaving she said products were natural and organic. I do not have allergies, but I know there were chemicals, as she applied some cream around my eyes, which irritated my eyes the rest of the day. I really think facials should have some massage around the stress areas on back of neck and shoulders, which she never touched. I've had MUCH better facials, so I'm not returning. read more

I bought a Groupon coupon after reading some reviews. I like that you can try new place without having to pay the full price. I called the spa and booked a 60 minutes signature massage. When I called to book I mentioned that I am looking for a spa that I can come back to and not just one time visit. The spa I liked and had a membership of, closed down and there after I have been trying to find a good spa, not just a "one room" dingy massage place. I was really excited after reading some reviews. Although I did review negative review too. However decided to try out because I thought that person must have had a "not so good" tech. So when I called I specifically asked to give me a tech that knows the jobs. The tech I got was Jovanne. When she started the massage I told her to apply little more pressure so she put her thump and started to press on the side of my neck which was very uncomfortable. I told her not to apply that much pressure. When she started on my legs, I asked her twice to apply more pressure, she said ok but that did not happen. It was like smearing some lotion all over me with no pressure at all. I am not sure if she has any formal training because besides the pressure, I found she had NO knowledge of pressure points. The lady who booked my appointment had told me that her review is not available on line because she doesn't work as much but is a good tech. After my massage, she asked me if I wanted tea or water (which I had already written on the form when I checked in, obviously she did not read it, even though she came into the room few minutes late) I told her I want water. After the massage, when I came out of the massage room, she had water in a paper cup. I was really surprised that a spa would offer open water instead of a little bottle. The spas I have visited offered a little bottle (may be packaged just for them) of unopened water. Even the place where I go for my facial offers an unopened bottle of water and gives a better hand and foot rub while the mask is on my face. The music I picked during my massage was ocean sound but what was played was very annoying instrument. I did ask the tech if she would put ocean sound instead of that music, she told me that was their ocean sound. When I checked in I asked the front desk about their membership and was almost going to purchase even before getting my massage, based upon the reviews but decided to give myself an hour after my massage. I am so glad that I did not purchase the membership. I am a spa person and widely travel. Have experienced spas in many different countries, including different places here but I was surprised that the tech I got did not have any knowledge of massage. Sorry it wasn't a good experience although I wished it was so I could get my regular massages. Oh well.... read more

Went into Spavia yesterday for an 80 minute deep tissue. WoW! Amanda was great. I walked out of there feeling invigorated and woke up this morning feeling great. I booked a 60 minute signature massage and was very impressed. The massage itself was extremely well done and relaxing, and the atmosphere is great. They provide a lot of extra amenities that really make this place stand out. They provide sandals and a robe, lockers (that lock) to put your valuables, and a shower. They also offer warm neck wraps while you wait, and you even get to select which type of music you want during your massage. I will definitely be returning. read more

I have been a member of Spavia at the Summit for over 18 months, and I absolutely would recommend it. First of all the small reception area is beautifully appointed, and the staff (especially Allie) are always professional and friendly really setting the tone for what is to come. There is a comfy robe and sandals waiting for you, and you are ushered into a changing room (also beautiful) complete with lockers for your personal items and amenities such as lotions, breath mints, a shower, etc. From there you wait for your technician in the aptly named 'relaxation room', complete with hot/cold water, tea, and (my fave) heated neck wraps. As far as the services: I am a licensed Esthetician and so I am very choosy about my facials. I have been to both Christie and Miriam and they are both amazing. They use high-end products, their technique is spot-on, they were able to address all of my skincare concerns. I greatly enjoyed a massage with Ashley during my latest visit, by far the best massage I've had in a while (again, I've been fortunate to have many massages over the years, and Ashley ranks right up there among the best in my opinion). On top of all of this, Spavia's membership pricing is very competitive, making self-care more accessible to everyone. I will continue to come here as often as I can, and recommend it highly! read more

Went to from Sacramento area to Reno to catch a show and visit. We decided to do a couples massage and did not really want to do it at one of the casino resorts. Found Spavia here on Yelp and booked via phone. The staff handling the booking was very courteous and helpful. We arrived at the Spa a bit early and we selected music and lotion scents for our massage. They then took us into the changing rooms where there were nice robes and sandals for our use then we relaxed and waited int the relaxation room getting some water and tea. The therapists came and got us. The massages were great with the therapists listening to what we wanted, and providing great massages. Afterward back to the changing rooms where we were able to get showers take our time and get back to life. The whole experience was great and we are very happy with our choice of where to go. read more
