Wish I could have properly reviewed Speakeasy Taproom. We were excited about trying this place. But it was clear within the first five minutes that the one person managing the seating, bar tending and serving wouldn't be getting to us anytime soon. We knew we puke be waiting to order drinks or food or even pay our bill. We will try again in the future and hope they hire or staff more people on a weekend evening. read more

I came here for my birthday after doing the rogue valley zip line tour in gold hill Oregon. The beer list is outstanding 36 on draft. Can find anything from ciders and sours to beer. The bartender was the sweetest lady in the world she made me a chocolate birthday cake shot for my bday. The cocktail list was also outstanding. Coming from Redding California I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. I need to move here! read more

just went to eat here. told us 10 minute wait secondary to kitchen being backed up. We said fine. Took a number. Party of 8 walked in and said they had a reservation. Hostess told them no reservations, first come first serve. Lady argued, no we called.... we should not have to wait....Fuss, fuss... they get seated. two minutes later someone comes out and says, kitchen really backed up they are closing a section, no place to seat hubby and I. Apparently now a 40 minute wait behind party of 8. We left- 20 minutes of a waste of time...... read more

My Wife and I stopped here on a Friday night. Solid bar and tap house. 30+ taps, diverse selection and bartenders know their stuff. Perfect place to grab a $6 IPA or Sour while in Grants Pass. At night, this place is a local hot spot so if you're looking to meet some of them (and pet adorable dogs on their patio), this is your spot. read more

I got a bad taste in my mouth from the woman behind the bar yesterday. My family and I were there waiting for my parents (mind you, we waited about 10 minutes), and while waiting, my husband asked if our daughter could eat in the bar. She said no minors, but we could eat at the bar's perimeter and by the ping pong table. While waiting for the others, my daughter and I decided to play ping-pong. The ball got away from me a couple of times and ended up in the bar, where the woman so rudely informed me that "ping-pong is for paying customers, and if we want to play, we need to order." I explained that we were waiting for a couple more people and they had just arrived. However, we would leave as I have NEVER been so rudely spoken to while waiting in a restaurant! I used to be in the service industry and have never treated a customer as I was treated. It's safe to say we will NOT return to speakeasy! read more

My favorite thing is that they often have live music here! Not to mention a huge selection of beers and ciders... and low and behold I found myself some Ciroc vodka! The owner/bartenders are always upbeat and friendly, and so are the patrons. It's and easy laid-back stop for any night of the week. read more

First of all, the owner makes this place. He's a HOOT! He talks to everyone, suggests things to try and lets you taste before buying the ciders and beers. The food is much better than I expected for bar food. Not fine dining, of course, but tasty. We are new to town and felt very at home at the Speakeasy! We plan to drop in often. read more

This place is awesome. Great music. Local beers on tap, what else could you possibly want? There's a pool table and some darts I think in the back, and a lot of seating in the main room overlooking the street as well as in the backroom. They also have a big TV up over the bar (and a projector screen on the side of the bar) so you can watch sports or what not while grabbing a drink! Will be back post wedding in September! read more

A nice remodel to the Oregon Pour Authority space, boasting something like 40 taps. Really provides a great variety, with plenty of IPAs for when you're in the mood for them hops, but also runs the gamut of beer styles from the region. Lots of ciders, too. We've been hearing so many good things about this place and to be completely honest we were SO disappointed. We walked in around 9-9:15 on a Thursday night. There was four of us, we found a little table and grabbed a deck of cards. We made eye contact with BOTH the employees behind the bar and no one came to help us. After 45 minutes of waiting, my husband went up to the bar to ask for menus.. 30 minutes later and still nothing. No water, no "hey we're low staff and we'll be with you soon," seriously the WORSE service we've had in this town. Seems like you have to be a friend of theirs to even get a hello. Not impressed. We thought based on reviews this was truly a restaurant but it's not. It's sort of a dive bar in a strip mall sort of building shared with a wig shop. Not that it is bad just not what we expected. Bar tender was nice enough and they did have a full bar. It was not the destination we intended. It's more of a pub. read more

Used to enjoy stopping here for a beer or a growler fill. But unless you're a regular you can easily be ignored when you go in and sit down. Stopped by for a tap takeover last week, one of the owners socializing and only 1 other tender. Reps from the brewery were not there as far as I could tell and it was a half hour into the tap takeover. Sorry Speakeasy, too many other places are doing it better. I won't be back. read more

This has to be my favourite bar in town. I moved up here from Las Vegas and this bar has the professionalism and knowledge that many bars in Vegas have. Jessica is beyond welcoming and a great bartender. She is very knowledgeable, professional, and fun. Speakeasy has a great selection of beers and a pretty decent selection of liquor. An excellent selection of craft beers, regularly rotated to keep the selection interesting. It's typical crowd is a little young for my taste, but that's hardly a flaw on there part, just an observation on mine. Popped by for a quick bite to eat after we flew into Oregon super late at night. The owner was working late and was a super fun guy to talk with. Food was good, and they even had craft root beer on tap. Can you believe that? I do recommend this place looks like it's going to be one of my new favorites in Grants Pass. Loved this place! Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. The beer and cider selection were fantastic with about 30 or so taps. We just had a light meal off of the happy hour menu but my husband really enjoyed his fish and chips and my salad was good as well. We'll stop in here again. read more

The Speakeasy is the place you go if you are looking for massive brew selection, a winning atmosphere, and friendly locals to meet. They regularly have live music to rock your socks and plenty bar games if something lower key is more your speed. Five stars with one caveat, I just stopped in for a beer. First time in and I found a comfortable neighborhood, Cheers-like place. Lots of craft beer to choose from, friendly bartender, and friendly patrons. The menu had just the right amount of items and diversity for a small neighborhood pub. I want to try their coconut shrimp with horseradish/orange marmalade sauce. Will be back for beer and food! read more
