Took my car in to get smogged on a Monday morning. Took about 15 minutes, and I was done. He did the test as I was still filling out the questionnaire form. Quick and Easy. Cost was $60 for the smog check and $8.50 for the certificate. Sure it might be a little more expensive than some other places, especially if those other places have a discount coupon. However, the speed and ease of the process makes up for it. I will definitely be a repeat customer. I'm not too familiar with this area, so it was a little tricky to find. It was in the same area as the RV parts & radiator repair. I had called in about an hour before I came to find out how much it was, he said $40 for my make and model of car. That sounded good to me, so I went in. My smog check/ registration renewal was due the next day, but I had no question my car wouldn't pass. Anyway, the man who worked there was very polite. After he was done, he told me my total was $48, which threw me off guard, because I thought it was only $40, but he said it was something about the CA state tax or something, I forget.. The only thing "special" about this place is the idiot doing the Smog. I took my '06 Mercedes S65 there to get a simple Smog done. No big deal right? Well they quoted me $45 over the phone and when I get there he says "Oh, it's $45 cash. If you want to use check card then it will be $2 extra" I'm assuming the credit card company chargers them $2 per transaction (yeah right). That's the least of my worries. I see the old Vietnamese Smog Tech trying to smog my car (for the 3rd time now) and the test keeps aborting. I tell his son "Hey make sure he turns off the traction control." because I see he hasn't. Just an FYI, I worked at a Mercedes dealership on these same cars as a Tech for a few years (I was MB Master Certified) before moving on to an engineering job so I know what I'm talking about. The old man says "yes I have. The problem is your steering wheel keeps moving up and down while I'm trying to do the smog test." WTF? Now he's making up shit. How the hell does the steering wheel move "up and down" while you drive. He asks me (via his English speaking son) if I can turn off that feature? Um, yeah. The cars not doing that. Come up with a different excuse. I even try to help him. I tell his son "Hey man I used to work at Mercedes. He needs to turn off the traction control in the I/C (not just push the button which he didn't do either) to smog the car. He tells his dad and his dad says "I already turned off the traction control look" and he points to the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake) light which has set a fault because of the way he is trying to force it to do a smog. I tell him "You have to turn off the traction control and put the car into 'Dyno mode'" He tells me "I been smogging cars for 12 years. I know how to do it" I look at him and say "When did you realize you knew everything about cars? After 4, may be 5 years of smogging cars?" because apparently he doesn't think he can learn anything new anymore! Apparently he doesn't understand sarcasm or the fact that he will learn something new over and over again for the rest of his life. Unless he keeps his "know-it-all" attitude. Long story short, I wasted 45min of my time and left with 3 fault lights on in my car. The idiot tried to smog my car over 7 times doing the SAME EXACT THING over and over (a true sign of insanity)This guy is an idiot and doesn't know how to smog newer cars with any sort of traction control system (or technology for that matter) I would not take any of my cars here and recommend people go somewhere else unless you have a simple car like a '92 Ford Escort or something because this is all this guy can do! read more

THIS GUYS AN IDIOT. sorry but its true. I took my 96 civic to get smogged. I've came to him many times before with different cars and never had a problem. This time I brought him my car (change of ownership) he smogged it and it came up with a code p0720 (vehicle sensor ) I asked him what it was and he just highlighted something and said NO GOOD NO GOOD. NOW GO! and continued to smog another car. I made some calls and figured out the problem and fixed it. I came back 5 days later for a free retest and he smogs it and now he fails it because "my car wouldn't shift up" which is total b.s. it wasn't doing that 5 days ago. I took it to another smog place and they passed it with flying colors and laughed when I told them what he said about the transmission. Save your money. There's cheaper places look at the penny saver. read more

After the precision motor on the other side of the street couldn't do the job since their machine was broken (they charge $30) I brought it to this place. I called in advance and asked about the price and I was told $39.99. Before he starts he is telling me in broken English that I have to pay another $9 for certification!?? No sooner had I given them the paperwork and they had my truck in a bay and were getting things done. This place is awesome! I called at 7:30 am which is the time they open and a nice gentleman answered the the phone very politely and told me to come in. I got there at around 7:45 am and by 8:00 am he was done...my smog certificate sent to DMV and everything. I was so amazed with their service that I asked him if he could do an oil change, he said no but he said his brother and nephews across his shop could do it for me...so lo and behold I had a smog check and an oil change within one hour with high quality service and at a very reasonable price, well below what dealers/or corporate shops charge. BEWARE if you're a woman going in by yourself- there was no respect. I've never had anyone so rude or so disrespectful. We had our truck smogged back in February. Months later we were told the DMV never received the certificate. We then sent the DMV our paperwork showing it was complete- Still not good enough. I came back to explain the situation, he was condescending, laughing at the paperwork saying it is been more than 60 days, he had "already talked to me about it", looking at my car like this was the vehicle at hand, and it wasn't. He stated he had been in business 20 years and this doesn't happen. We paid for a smog check, we never got credit for it at the DMV, now we are out the money and have to get another smog check somewhere else. He was rude rude rude. I Cannot believe the arrogance! obviously, he thinks he cannot make a mistake because he's been in business 20 years. What a shame. read more
