Well I do enjoy riding my Specialized E Bike but for the $15,500 plus tax I paid, I don't think I should have to replace the rotors after 480 miles. But that's what the shop is telling me. Now exactly 1 year after my full price retail purchase Specialized decided to drop the price 27% ($4000) down to $11,500. They will do nothing for me. Not replace my bad rotors, not even a free service. Just like that over night they completely crushed the resale market for these bikes. I just don't think I can stick with them after this. I have several of the big brands bikes and was a loyal Specialized customer in recent years . Among all the bikes manufacturers, Specialized ranks at the very bottom . Their customer support as is evident from Google reviews and / or online bike forums is the absolute worst. Their carbon frames break and crack due to manufacturing defects and practices more than any other brand on the market and unlike most other bike manufacturers , they DO NOT HONOR THEIR so called "LIFETIME WARRANTY" Lust look them up on the better business bureau , look at their " F" rating and the amount of complaints submitted vs the amount resolved. Here is the BBB definition for " F" rating : " F rating is the BBB LOWEST GRADE" Typically business with F rating have unanswered and/or unresolved complaints that reflects failure by the business to deal with the causes of customers problems " Look at other bike manufacturers rating on the BBB website , no one comes even close to an F rating. Look on YouTube for videos showing DIY carbon bikes frame repair videos , the vast majority feature broken Specialized frames. Do yourself and your pocket a favor and go with any other brand. Specialized is the absolute worst!!! read more

I've been a lifelong user of Specialized Armadillo tires. But the last ones I purchased obviously have a defect--fortunately, I noticed the tread was separating after very little mileage. My bike shop mechanic agreed this is the result of some kind of adhesive failure. I notified the company and they've simply given me the run-around, telling me to go to a dealership and hiding behind a warranty policy that clearly doesn't apply here (and misses the point). I've offered to mail the tire to them and they just tell me to go to a dealership, even though I've explained I don't live near one (so they want me to ride several miles with a bad tire looped over my shoulder because THEIR tire has a defect? And what's the point of that? They need a Specialized dealer to look at the tire so they can tell me the tread is coming lose? What kind of customer service is that?). You'd think they'd be very concerned about a failure of their tire that may point to a larger defect that could really hurt people. You'd think they'd be happy to have me send them the tire so they can investigate. Obviously, this is a company that won't stand by its products, even when their products have clearly failed. I'm very disappointed and will no longer buy components from them. read more

Ordered an $8k Stumpjumper Pro for direct to consumer delivery. 1) Rear derailleur assembled improperly, 2) assembly directions were generic - they were useless and dangerous - too many reasons to list, 3) customer service is non-existent - they don't pick up calls, return v-mails or return emails. I had to pay LBS $150 to re-assemble the bike. Knowing all this now I would avoid Specialized at all costs - and this after being a customer for 2+ decades. read more

I currently ride a 2007 Specialized Langster. I am thinking of adding a 2007 Langster Comp that will be dedicated to track racing. Specialized has some of the hottest looking mass produced bikes on the market. Specialized bikes also have a high price to performance ratio. If you are looking at a Trek because that is what Discovery rides do yourself a favor and check out the Specialized offerings. read more

Stay far away from this company. The are not biker friendly and are in it for the money only. They refused a return of a brand new, unused item. I ordered a couple of headlights for my grandson who lives in Oregon, this place is in California. It is taking a week to get here. I signed up for their sight and wanted to take advantage of the 15% off, not good on bike purchases. There was nowhere to out their code before checkout. I have contacted them 5 times about this and still have had no reply. This is bait and switch. I don't recommend these guys due to this. I will never order from them again. After getting into an accident with my original racing bike, I had done lots of research on brands, frame types, you name it. I finally settled on a Specialized Epic Comp, which to this day, still rides pretty well. I don't race anymore and haven't since I left college, but this trusty bike has lasted for quite a long time. I still see the Specialized brand in the Tour De France, so these guys are definitely doing something right. I guess if I get serious again about riding, you can be sure that I'll be considering another Specialized in the mix. read more

This is a review of the company.... please read through to the end. A company is more than their products or service, it's their relationship to the community and the consequences of their decisions. A few weeks ago in my neighborhood (Greenwood, a small neighborhood in Seattle) a business exploded (gas line) and damaged stores all through the street - one of them being a mom and pop bicycle small business. Windows blown out, lost business and revenue for shops but the community came together, raised more than a quarter million to assist in operating expenses and costs while things try to get back to normal. One of the kinder things was the local artists painting the boarding used to cover windows and doors blown out until they could get replaced. Specialized paid a guerilla ad company to plaster advertisements all over the paintings, not only of the mom and pop bicycle shop but other stores up and down the street. I have never owned a specialized bicycle, but have owned their softgoods. I had a pair of comp mtb shoes and they hurt my feet so bad that at one time after riding I could barely walk for almost a full day. I went back to Sidi's and haven't had that problem since. I also have bought one of their BG saddle and again it just wasn't fitting me properly and I was actually fitted for this saddle. I used to ride the old control and master s-work tires and they worked great. This is the only special ed product that actually worked for me. read more

I have multipleSpecialized bikes. However, over the last two years it seems to be impossible to get the products that I want. Constantly back ordered or sold out. Worst customer service I have ever experienced this is my first time commenting on yelp and I am doing so to save you time and frustration. Let me start by saying specialized offers great products but purchase these products at your local bike shops never buy online through specialized. I have been having trouble with my orders going through every time they get canceled because of an issue on their end at least that's what the emails says and every time I contact customer support it takes days to get a response I have to sent multiple emails just for one reply. Then when they do reply they don't actually fix the problem and when you email them back even within minutes they never respond to your follow up questions. Also I have tried calling their customer support number every time I get sent to voice mail I leave my name and number and never get a call back. I tried placing my order one last time and if this doesn't work I am giving up on specialized there are too many other good bike retailers out there to be treated this poorly as a loyal customer who has spends lots of money on their products. If Rob from rider support emails you just already know you are never going to get a good answer and he won't respond to your follow up questions. FRUSTRATED.  THIS APPLIES TO SPECIALIZED BICYCLES AS WELL AS THE BICYCLE GARAGE IN FREMONT, CA.  I've been a customer of TBG for over ten years.  Fred, Scott and their staff have always been helpful and courteous.   I purchased a 2018 Specialized COMO ebike in Dec 2017 for over $3k.  In February 2021, I discovered that the electrical controls on the handlebar weren't functioning,  the spindle carousel was worn and the chain kept slipping.  On February 23rd, I brought the bike into the Bicycle Garage for repairs.   I telephoned on 3/10/2011 and was told that the hold up is at Specialized factory and they only have one staff managing warranty work .  On March 16th I was advised that Specialized would be shipping the needed components.  On April 9th I was informed that the electrical part from Specialized was in stock, "working on installation today". On April 15th I again called and was advised there was still a delay in Specialized warranty.  On April 22 out of frustration I called and asked if  I can get a replacement bike - was told I "need to speak with Fred tomorrow."   I called the next day and was advised that Specialized had shipped the wrong part and they would have to reorder it.  I've been without a bicycle for over two months!  Very frustrated. read more

After detailed research of every bicycle company and every relevant hipster blog, I went with Spesh because it had a model with the # of gears I wanted (not multiple) framed in the material I wanted (not steel) for the lifestyle I wanted (not hipster). Plus the colorway matched my shoes - not a selling point, but not a detriment. I'm just glad I got mine the year I did; they immediately afterward changed my model to have a more contoured frame. They have bee very helpful in connecting me with my local shop and explaining who could help the most in each step of the solution. I ordered a couple of items from specialized and unfortunately made a mistake and ordered the wrong size tire tubes. I emailed the company and asked to exchange the items. They were so nice they sent me what I needed at no charge and it really made my day as I had a son who was mad at me for not being able to ride his bike! This is specifically a review of the company and also by extension their product that I own. I recently bought an Allez Elite and now being a happy Specialized customer saw that my vacation brought me close to the corporate headquarters. I called them to see if a factory tour was possible. My great experience started with Kim who helped me set up the tour and we were able to arrange a time that worked for both of us. We had a wonderful, interesting tour of parts of the facility (obviously nothing sensitive) with our tour guide Bob. He was very informative and tolerant of the little kids who were having a little trouble keeping interest in the less visually interesting bits of the tour. He was also helpful in suggesting a few local retailers to find some Specialized gear I had on my shopping list. I can tell the company is run by creative, motivated people who really love the products they make. After getting the insight into the company I am even more confident that the products I'm getting have been developed by people who know what they are trying to accomplish and are putting out the best can. After the tour experience, I have all the more confidence I'll have a long, happy ownership experience with my bike. I'm also confident the older model Allez my son just had passed to him will continue to ride well alongside my own. read more

I personally know about Specialized because my stepdaughter has been hired by them through HOPE services. They have a reputation for hiring young adults with developmental disabilities. I am impressed by any company who gives back to the community and society by giving these young people an opportunity to be successful. Kudos to them. read more
