For those that live in Gilroy like me, you now have a local trusted bike shop (LBS) to goto just down the street in Morgan Hill which is littlest only 15mins away. Met Ivan who was very nice and answered all my question. Got a tuneup on my bike as it was due and thought I'd give this place a tray as Gilroy no longer has a local bike shop. Couldn't be any happier with the service. Bike shifted well with no more hesitations and just feels new again. Also, his pricing is very reasonable if not better than other places. Also, there is a cool pump track around the corner and they are right next door to Kali Protectives another awesome local business. Rushed his answers and continued texting as I tried to get info from him. Went to Bike Therapy and they were awesome with service. The did a free diagnostic and figured out the issue. He's not super passionate about electric bikes, but he does know a lot about them, and he's willing to give you a consult on your e-bike. This bike shop is hands down one of my favorite things about riding bikes. As an avid cyclist for the past six years I do all types of bike riding now. I have been in shops all across the country from Philly, Colorado, & now Northern Cali, this bike shop is one of the best I have ever set foot in. My first experience here was before they even opened for the day. my friend & I were heading out on an early morning ride from the boardwalk & he got a flat as we rode down Mission. the first two bike shops that we passed refused service on a basic flat until they were "officially open". We saw the Cycleworks sign further down Mission & took one last shot at finding some real bike techs in this town. We saw someone inside but the shop was not "open". A guy inside saw us & came out. We begged him for help & he looked at us like we were crazy & said,"of course i'll help you out this is a bike shop?!" He asked us what trails we planned to ride & even gave us some helpful tips on our journey. Get this the guy who helped us that day was Sterling who owns the place?! I cant thank him enough we had a great ride that day. I live over the hill in Sunnyvale currently but I have made this my Local Bike Shop because they provide excellent service, no matter what they always give the customer all options & never up-sell or assume your ability. These guys ride bikes, eat bikes, & sleep on bikes, but for real they know their shit. They take care of my four bikes as if they were their own. mountain, road, e-bikes, does not matter they know it all. I have worked in service industry almost my entire life, Cycleworks gets it. There is no corporate asshole telling these guys they can't help customers before an official open, they love to see you have fun on bikes as much as they do themselves. It's not hard to find pompous assholes in Santa Cruz, many surf & bike shops are packed full of them, but you won't find any at Cycleworks. My hat goes off to Sterling, Ivan, Brad, Pat, Iggy, & the Bens for treating me like a local friend instead of a tourist or transplant infringing on the two wheel good times that are a-plenty in beautiful Santa Cruz. I had a really good experience at cycleworks after another non-local bike shop didn't do a great job on my bike tuneup. I happened to be in Santa Cruz with my bike and discovered my front tire was totally flat. I walked into cycleworks and they were able to replace my front tire and brake pads immediately. It's super easy to rent a bike. You can just go on their website, choose which bike you want, what day and for how long. They have a huge selection of different bikes you can rent. Once you get to the actual rental place, the staff is super friendly and will set you up with your bike. They were nice and let us extend our time since we didn't get back within the time we said we did. Overall, it was affordable and there are good trails nearby. read more

This place is great. No intimidating vibe or feeling of judgement at all when you come in with questions or in need of help, even when you know as little about bike maintenance as I do! They have fixed everything I've brought in either same day or within the next day, which is incredible. In addition to their timely and quality work, It's very cool how they've designed the shop to have a bar to sit at so you can chat with your mechanic while they work on your bike. It really shows how they value community and want their customers to feel like they belong. The beer on tap to enjoy while your bike is being worked on doesn't hurt either. You can really tell what a special place this is as you see people come and go just to say hi on they're way out for a ride, or on their way back home. Their Thursday night rides are awesome! My boyfriend and I rented bikes from this shop about 2 months ago. We called a couple of other bike rental shops next to Sprockets to get an idea how much they charge for bike rentals, and they had the best price. The staff was helpful in getting us the appropriate bikes and answering our questions about some of the outdoor activities we could do in Santa Cruz. They're located less than 2 miles from Wilder Ranch State Park. It's a gorgeous park! On a sunny day, the views are comparable to Big Sur. This place is a must visit if you're renting a bike from Sprockets. I'd totally come back again! read more

This is a pretty rad bike shop in SC not too far from wilder and UCSC trails. They rented us bikes late in the day on 6-13-2020 where not other shop around the vicinity would due to covid-19. They rented us a Kona process dl29 and for me which was a beast and my son a liv advanced intrigue 2. My 10 year old son loved that bike. I Actually offered to buy it afterwards but the discount wasn't enough for something used(only 20 percent off). I'm actually glad I didn't buy it because I found out later that it's a bike that's made for women! My son rode it like a champ though. Why they would sell a women's bike to a 10 year old boy is a mystery but it's crazy times right now and they were sort of taking advantage of the fact my son loved the bike . Glad they turned down my offer below the 20 percent off! Anyway I still recommend this spot. The staff are all helpful and the demo bikes are on point. Just knocking them a star for not telling me that it was a bike designed by women for women. read more

Pretty awesome bike shop, sells all kinds of bikes and have a good selection of high end bikes with knowledgable staff. They also do bike rentals! I think if I needed to buy a mountain bike in the future I'd come here because they're so friendly and knowledgable. They also run some good specials although anything with a fox shock you're definitely looking at over 4 digits ... and forget about shimano! I didn't see any Santa Cruz or Specialized here, which I was a little surprised at ... but who knows! Also great selection of biking accessories and cruisers. read more

The last real bike shop in Santa Cruz. It's not a sell out like the Trek shop (epicenter cycling) where they only tell you buy overpriced Trek bikes. The guy here is unbelievably honest. I came to to him with a problem with gear shifting hoping he could show me how to fix and do it if I don't know how and was planning on paying. He said to go to the co op to do that for free and told me about another problem that I didn't even notice (spokes falling out) and fixed those and secured them for my Ebike for $60. read more

I never write yelp reviews, but this time I'm compelled to do so. Sterling and his crew just did a bunch of work on an old Ibis tandem of mine and I couldn't be more happy with the results. This involved putting new bars on to make the bike a better fit for my (not so young anymore) body. They ordered two sets of bars so I could try one of each and get it just right. The owner fixed my bike with an old (but perfectly good) disc brake for 50$ instead of the 200$ that two other shops wanted. The 24 hour repair time is soooo useful - I need my bike.
